Dynamically report orientation change. possible ?

Hello to everyone
Do anyone know if it is possible to have a report in two different orientation (landscape and portrait) in one shot ?
If yes how can i do to solve the problem ?

If you are running the report using RUN_PRODUCT then it is possible. Create parameter list and add the parameter:

HTML Article put together dynamically, scroll only possible after orientation change

Hi guys,
i have encountered the following problem today:
im having a HTML page put together dynamically from a JSON source file, handling the JSON information with jQuery. i am uploading said HTML page (html page is empty until the page is in the DPS stack, then it builds itself) as an HTML article with "Smooth Scrolling: Vertical". So far, so good.
When i open the page inside the Adobe Viewer App on my iPad, i can see the "first" part of the page (the first 1024px in portrait-orientation) but i am not able to scroll further down the page.
however, when i do a orientation change of the device (turn it landscape and then back), i can scroll perfectly fine and am able to see everything on the page (so im quite sure the conversion from json to jquery to html does work). even stranger, when i let the page tell me its height ( via $("body").height() and $(document).height() ) it shows me, that the height of the page is indeed (e.g.) 10.000px, but i am not able to scroll down until i do the orientation change.
am i missing something? im pretty sure that my code is correct, because once i change the orientation of my device, everything does work flawless.
i hope my problem is understandable, any help is much appreciated.

Nevermind... since the HTML is empty, when the magazin gets opened, i suspect the HTML tells DPS "hey, my height is 0px, dont bother scrolling!". but once i am on the page itself and the process of bulding the page starts (HTML elements are added on the fly), it doesnt tell DPS "hey, my height changed, check if i need to be scrollable please" since im not able to scroll. when im changing orientation, it forces DPS to rerender the page and thus getting the correct height of the page.
my workaround: setting the body height to (e.g.) 20.000px and then, later on, reduce it to the actual height needed by the HTML elements.
but still: can someone explain me the process of loading / rendering pages inside DPS? when do DPS render pages, does it render pages the first time i open the app and then again when im on the page itself (or rather a page before the actual page?) is there a command to force DPS to rerender the page?

Dynamic Report with Hundreds of Columns in APPS -- Possible ?

I am working on a design of building a dynamic report with up close to 1000 columns in Oracle MFG. Depending on the number of item parameters user entered, the report could have 100, 200, 500, up to 1000 columns. User wants the report exported to EXCEL to do analysis.
Is this huge report possibly built and run in Oracle APPS? What are the major issues and limitations involved and what attentions I should give to design and build? Thanks in advance.

Since formatting is not important, I would use pl/sql. Pl/sql is better suited for dynamic sql. With utl_file you can write the results of your dynamic query to a csv fiel for import in Excel.

Dynamic reports means based on user selection(for eg. say by selecting values from combo boxes) some query will be genatated and fetch the query result from data base and displayed results in iReports only my problem is i am working on Netbeans IDE and i have installed iReports as plugins in netbeans IDE. and i am not able to find any tutorial that show me how to work with iReports under netbeans IDE. and how to create dynamic reports in iReports. How can i create an dynamic report in Java

I want to make dynamic reports in Java. Report contain data and images with good layout.. such as crystal reports presentation..
Reports fields decided at run time or we can say that it is generated according to user requirement...
can it is possible in Java. If it is then which tool is better for it..

imagination...Feasibility you mean. IMHO, the feasibility of creating that stuff yourself is very low. Reinventing the wheel usually doesn't make it better, and it's likely to be more expensive to pay you for creating an inferior solution (not because of lack of skills, but simply because the available products had a few years time to grow, feature-wise) than to simply buy the licenses. Look at Crystal Reports or JFreeChart or Jasper Reports. Or use Google to look up J2EE-based reporting libraries. There might be more.
Which of these is best, I don't know, I never used any of those. Also, the definition of "best" changes with the requirements. What's better, a Ferrari or a truck?

Dynamic reporting, time dependent columns

Hello,
We are trying to make some dynamic reports, for example with the columns: the last six months , quarter, current year, last year etc etc (a half year report). Is it possible to give in a year\period which is the "current period", so that all dynamic (time) columns are relative from this date. This because it is not known in which month the work is done (and the cubes updated) and the reports are run.

1)create a variable on Time Char (instead the Business Content Variable) with manual input mandatory
2)insert an 'OFFSET'
For example:
a) create a variable on calmonth
b) create a new selection in column
__b.1) insert your KF in selection
__b.2) insert new variable of calmonth in selection
__b.3) change offset of variable, i.e. for six month write -6

Financial Reporting making of Dynamic Reports v 11.1.1.2

Hi,
I have recently going through designing of a dynamic report in Financial Reporting which consists of financial representation as follows:
There are some data which is there in the Schedules of accounts.
Now the user wants to a make a drill down of all the account codes there in the schedule like
schedule 13 other income.
All the account codes in Schedule should bw drill down which I am able to make.
Now for each account codes they want a sorting in descending order to find out which entity is contributing to how much revenue for the oraganistion or
similarly for the cost which are in other schedules like 14,15,16 tc.
After that they want a insertion of cell text function for each cell having a combination of account codes and entity which is having a adverse variance and analsis
for the same.
If someone can throw a light on this about how to do this.

I think you have already posted this problem on another post, I said it is possible it could be a ports issue.

changing a Order or Contract ID is not possible because they are the key of the Object. Perhaps I've don't get your point. Please describe your requirement in more detail.

Dynamic report output in a webdynpro alv

Hi,
I have created a dynamic report in the R/3 system . In this report, i am creating a report program within the report and subsequently executing this dynamically created report and displaying in the ALV..
Is it possible to handle such a scenario in a webdynpro ALV. One option is to use ITS and display the report in the portal but is there some other way so that i can directly view this report in an alv grid in a view.

This could be one of the solution:
1] Run the report in background mode (using submit statement, dn't forget to give printer as LOCL), get the spool id programatically. Use the FM's CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF or CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF.
Which returns the ouput of table tline, convert this to xtring and bind it to xtring attribute.
In view add a interactive form and bind the xstring attribute to the Interactive form.
By following the above steps, we can display the result in the PDF in WD ABAP.
2] The report result is ALV and in most of the cases we generally do not have function modules or any other easy way to get the output.
In such cases the best approach which we follow is, to run this in background mode and generate the spool and display the ouput in PDF.
3] But if intertactive form is not present in your requirement then we need to debug the logic of the report (if no FM or class present) and get the results and display it in the View.
You can create a service which takes the parameters of the report, submits it and
transfers the result to HTML. In a view you use an IFRame which takes the URL of the service and shows the result HTML.

This is a very straight forward requirement. so please give me code
First you have to get the corresponding plant from table T320 for the given warehouse numbers in the selection screen.
1.     Get the sum of order qty of sales orders from the sales order tables      for the given warehouse(Plant), distribution channel and the give date      range.
2.     Get the confirmed transfer orders qty from the TO master table where      TO confirmation date is in the given date range and WH number.
3.     Get the total PGIed qty from the delivery master table where PGI'ed      date in the given date range, shipping point is in the corresponding      plant of the WH and for the given distribution channel.
As you are going to use the major tables please try to write the select commands effectively to avoid further performance issues.

Dynamic Report layout issue - Report builder 10g

Hi all,
I try to implement a dynamic report that have:
1.my_header - variable elasticity
2.my_footer - variable elasticity - the bottom it is anchored to the bottom of my_report frame
3.my_body - variable elasticity -must fit between the header and footer - the top it is anchored to the bottom of my_header
All these frames are inside a main frame my_report(same height and width as body section).
The issue is that when my_body (I have another frame and a repeating frame inside it) has more than one page, the data overrides the footer data.

What exactly do you mean? Are you running out of space on the page when running the report? That can only be resolved by modifying your layout.
Or are you running out of space in the Layout Editor? In the layout editor you can make a page as long as you want. One physical page is not limited to be designed between the page boundaries you see in the Layout Editor.
The frames you are using have to have a Variable Vertical Elasticity, though.

Yes it is possible.
Follow the steps below.
1. Create query with all columns.
2. Create parameter for each column(ex: col1_param,col2_param etc..)
3. Write format trigger for each column in which you check the parameter value for that column.if it is to be selected then return true else return false.
IF :col1_param = 1 then
return true ;
else
return false;
end if;
4. If the column1 is not selected and column2 , column 3 are selected, then column2 has to be printed in place of column1 and column 3 has to be printed in place of column 2 .
To achieve this create Anchors between Column1,2,3 by setting the anchor property horizontally collapse = YES.

I want to create a dynamic reporting tool , in which user can add & delete no of columns from database table and for selected columns , user want to generate reports. Can any one give me idea about Java API or any other API that we can use in java application for dynamic reporting. Please give me reference example for suggested API if possible. Can I create a dynamic report in the server without using a report template

Hi,
My company just bought a Crystal Report Server XI and it didn't have a report designer.
I can't start creating report without the designer.
The question is can I generate a dynamic report at runtime (on the crystal report server ) without using report template?
My project requirement is to use a crystal report server to manage the reports.
Some client web application will just access this report server.
I hope the experts can provide me some guidance.

Hi Rulix,
The latest version of CR Server is 2008. Therefore I'm assuming you are using CR Server 2008.
New in CR 2008 is the .NET report modification software development kit (SDK). The report application server (RAS) SDK is now available for users of Crystal Reports .NET API without the use of a RAS server. Report modification such as changing, adding, or removing database providers, or adding, removing, or creating report objects, parameters, formulas, and sections can be achieved by accessing the RAS SDK through the Crystal Reports .NET SDK.
Java developers however receive the JRC and Java SDK documentation through the free Crystal Reports for Eclipse download. This product will be updated on a separate schedule from Crystal Reports.

Logic needed for dynamic report

I have made a dynamic report where my logic is if the value of the columns is 0 than it should be blank and if the columns of the stores have some value for eg: 01 than it should populate the same store.
The logic goes like :

My current output is:

but for matnr 02, 01 store has 0 value hence it should come blank but its appending from the first line and populating 01store for material 2.
