E-Commerce API

Hello, colleagues!
Couple of questions on E-commerce:
Can E-commerce be integrated in existing existing webpage?
Can E-commerce page be styled like the existing webpage?
Does it have rich API?
Help is very appreciated!
Thank you!
Best Regards,
Alexey

Hi Aleksey,
E-commerce has a theme engine.  The look and feel of existing sites can be recreated here.  The pages distributed with E-commerce are edittable, so any existing pages can be added as links.
"Rich" API will be a matter of opinion.  The api that is used by E-commerce is exposed for developers to use.  Generally, the api is a set of DAO classes that enforce business process.  Custom plugins and pages can be created and accessed as desired.
In most cases the display can be made to customer specification.  The business process if less flexible, but can be rewritten or appended to.

  • E-Commerce API: how to retrieve product tags?

Does anyone know how to get the tags for a product using the e-commerce API? By product tags I mean the tags that can be added to a product so they can be listed by tag. I know I can get product attributes, but my client has been using tags (before attributes were available), and now I need to be able to retrieve them through the API.
    Thanks!

I've not used it but it seems (at least looking at the sample output) that the tags come down as a string.

  • E-commerce apis in Weblogic workshop

    Hi All,
I am trying to develop a simple shopping cart application using the Weblogic apis (for familiarizing myself to weblogic).
I have included the commerce.jar in the portalWebproject but I have no clue of how to use the apis and also there is no sample/example appliction to use the APIs.
Please guide/help me in using the APIs.
    Thanks in advance.

    Graeme,
Could you please send us a relevant snippet of the JWS and your factory
class, to clarify the issue and help us replicate it here.
    Thanks,

Hi, I am developing a web service with weblogic workshop. The JWS filereferences
other classes one of which is a factory for distributing variousimplementations
of an interface. I am trying to dynamically load the relevant class to bedistributed
from the factory via its name, e.g. Class c = Class.forName(className)
However I keep getting a classNotFoundException. The class exists in thesame
package as the factory. I can insantiate the class in the normal way,i.e new
ClassName(); but cant seem to dynamically load it via its name. However Ihave
found that if I declare a private member of that type in the Factory butdo nothing
with it, I can then dynamically create the class. However I dont reallywant
to do this for every type that the factory can create
    Any ideas ??

  • Use APIs from a non-BC site

    Hi all. BC newbie here.
Is it possible to use the e-commerce APIs from a site that's not built on Business Catalyst? Support informed me that the APIs can't be accessed except through a Webapp, but it seems Webapps only run on a BC site. What's the solution, then? How do I make a non-BC site communicate with a BC site?
Or, do I have to make it go the other way? Write an app to have the BC site his the other site through Ajax?

    Hi there,
That is a bit of a mix up.
You can not use Webapp API's on a a 3rd party system at this time and only through BC apps. other API's like the eCommerce can be used on 3rd party systems.
Ajax will not work because browsers use the same domain policy for protection, you need to do server side code or properly create jsonp etc content to access data if you want to read from another system in BC or other web services. All depends on what you are trying to achieve.

  • Hybris + Adobe CQ integration issue

    Hi All,
I'm working on external Hybris + Adobe CQ integration. My website for products display has been initialized based on geometrixx-outdoors template.
I'm using following article as an howto:
    http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/ecommerce/eCommerce-framework.html
    For now have some success
    1. I've already loaded my catalog and with products on Adobe
    2. User/Session sharing also works partially
The only problem here is for anonimous user. The method call commerceSession.getCartEntryCount() on start page -> userinfo panel throws
    org.apache.sling.api.scripting.ScriptEvaluationException: javax.servlet.ServletException: com.adobe.cq.commerce.api.NotAuthorizedException: You are not authorized.
The other problem connected with product displaying:
    Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
    at com.adobe.cq.commerce.hybris.impl.HybrisSessionImpl.getProductPriceInfo(HybrisSessionImpl .java:184)
    at com.adobe.cq.commerce.hybris.impl.HybrisSessionImpl.getProductPriceInfo(HybrisSessionImpl .java:171)
    at com.adobe.cq.commerce.hybris.impl.HybrisSessionImpl.getPriceInfo(HybrisSessionImpl.java:1 66)
All this stuff happens without any code modification from myside just out-of-the-box.
Does somebody have such a problems and if so how does he solved them?

    Hi Bohdanius,
first I would recommend you to get in toucuh with Adobe Daycare support, and maybe even Adobe Consulting, as they can provide you a much better insight into that complex stuff ...
What version of CQ are you using?
To your problems: Have you allowed access for the anonymous user on Hybris?
For more information I would need the version number :-)

  • Help with sending string using setRequestProperty to servlet

I have a string that is encrpyted so it uses some wierd characters. An
example of the integer representation of the characters for a string that is
    not working is:
    26,162,91,52,153,136,227,53,190,0
When I recieve it on the servlet end and go to use it the integer
representation of the characters is all messed up therefore I can't decrypt
    it properly. The servlet recieved:
    26,162,91,52, 63 , 63 ,227,53,190,0
Where did the 63's come form??????? That is a "?" character and was not
part of the original string. I think it has something to do with when the
characters are converted to bytes or something but I can't seem to figure
out a way to fix it so that I get the original characters...
Please, any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmm....my last post doesn't appear to make a whole lot of sense. I've got to start getting to bed earlier.
I guess I was a little excited when I realized what URLEncoder and URLDecoder were doing (by looking at the source, of course) which involves a lot of char conversion on the individual portions of your String. These classes are for US-ASCII text and really don't handle non-printable characters very well.
The passing of the characters across the connection remains a problem, and (without looking at source code) I believe the same problem is at the root; there is a basic encoding of your String into a format that doesn't support characters that aren't in the code page, and the question marks are substituted.
I haven't tried, but can suggest, using the encode/decode methods in the javax.mail.internet.MimeUtility class. This class comes with the J2EE download, but I'm afraid it may have some of the same shortcomings when it comes to characters it doesn't like (its methods appear to be mostly for mail HEADERS.)
You basically need either a UUEncode or Base64 encoder/decoder to translate your String into plaintext before it gets sent to the Servlet. The Java Commerce API (Java Wallet) contains a Base64Encoder/Base64Decoder but it is not licensed for reuse.
There might be other options (I don't know the full scope of your setup), but if all else fails, I can post a UUEncode class that will convert your encrypted string into plaintext for transmission.

    Hello Muffy,
It looks like you do not have WLS 5.1 service pack 6 installed correctly. I
say this because I do not see the sp6 message at the top of your log and I saw
    this message in your log:
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no
further input; "transaction-isolation" is not allowed

  • BC E-commerce integrated with Subscription Based Web Application

I am considering using BC for my company's corporate website as well as the online store.  We sell a subscription based web application which will have 3 or more flavors (products) and will need to bill customers on a recurring monthly or annual basis.
For the monthly subscriptions, we want to bill the customer based on the "highwater" mark with regards to user quantity for that given month.  This gives the users the flexibility to add/remove users freely without the fuss of having to contact a sales representative to adjust their account/recurring order.
I would imagine this would happen one of two ways:
The user signs up creating their account both in our web application and the ecommerce site and is billed for the first time.  In the ensuing months, either: the e-commerce site communicates with our web application to get the high water mark quantity for that billing cycle or
Our web application sends a new order each month to the e-commerce site, including the highwater mark quantity, giving the illusion to the user that it is indeed a recurring order but behind the scenes they are actually individual orders.
Annual subscription customers are a bit more challenging.  We still want the users to have the flexibility to add/remove users with minimal effort. However, since they are being billed on an annual basis, prorating additional users will be necessary.  So if customer who previously purchased 5 licenses, adds 5 more licenses during month 6 of their annual subscription term, we would need the e-commerce solution to bill them once immediately for the 50% prorated 5 licenses, then bill them 6 month's later for the total 10 license subscription renewal.
At a bit of higher level, we would prefer the customer to manage all their billing/account info within our web application rather than going to an external store to do so.
One other caveat, we would prefer not to store credit card info on our site.  Preferably that would be stored in our payment gateway (Auth.net).  This may or may not affect the workflows described above.
    My Questions:
Can the BC e-commerce solution support the workflows above? If so, is there any documentation/resources available to research this further?
Are there any BC customers that currently do something similar?  If so, who and how similar?

    Hi Greg,
From what you have described it seems to me that you need some complex server side logic which BC doesn't allow. In any case you'd have to develop an app that communicates between BC and that other application through our API, which will control the orders as per your requirement. In particular, there's no easy way for end user to control their recurring monthly or annual subscription, there's no way to apply immediate discounts according to earlier purchases that will satisfy this requirement "if customer who previously purchased 5 licenses, adds 5 more licenses during month 6 of their annual subscription term, we would need the e-commerce solution to bill them once immediately for the 50% prorated 5 licenses, then bill them 6 month's later for the total 10 license subscription renewal", you can't build in this functionality into BC " the e-commerce site communicates with our web application to get the high water mark quantity for that billing cycle" and there are few more things there which suggest to me that you need something custom.
    Cheers,
    -mario

    Hi Robert,
Our team is well aware of the problem with WLCS 2.0 and WLS SP3 that shows
up when using the MyBuyBeans demo.
We are looking into this problem in engineering and we will post any
solution(s) once we figure out the offending issue.
    Thanks.

  • How to integrate with a commerce app

Is there a sample workflow for a shopper paying for access on a commerce website to view encrypted content?
It seems that the player app will need to prompt for user authorisation, but what should the values be considering they bought the content on the commerce website?
In the case of a subscription, what API should be called to update the CustomerAuthorization table?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Kevin,
If you would like to use complex business workflows, like the subscription workflow you've mentioned below, it's recommended you install the Reference Implementation license server, and not the license server for Protected Streaming.  Instructions on how to do this (which I assume you've already done) can be found on page 64 of the "Protecting Content" document: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashaccess/2.0/protecting_content.pdf
After setting up your license server, packaging content, and confirming that you can playback encrypted content, you should take a look at page 70 of the document, where it goes into detail on "Implementing the usage models".  This is where you turn on the Reference Implementation's business model workflows.
Regarding your question on what API you should use to update the CustomerAuthorization table - there is no API; this table is contained in your MySQL database.  You'll have to use SQL to update that table, or at least modify the "PopulateSampleDB.sql" file with whatever changes you want to that table, and re-run it.  In the real world, your web site portal will have to implement account management logic, which will handle things such as accept payment, and then update the appropriate tables needed to grant the proper access privileges to the user (like updating that CustomerAuthorization table).
    cheers,
    /Eric.

  • How to responce back HTML format to MVC using asembler API

    Hi,
Now we are trying to build integration between MVC Web Application on Seesar2 framework(http://www.seasar.org/en/) and endeca commerce 3.1.1.
In order to responce back the HTML page from endeca based on the query executed by MVC side, assembler API should return the format of HTML, however, it seems that Assembler API actually returns the contentItem data with which cartridge should be used, so assembler API responce as is cannot be used as HTML page output.
Is there any way to generate the HTML page format using assembler API ?
Also I've found following forum saying that Assembler API can be called by Spring MVC, but is it also applicable for other framework than spring ?
    https://qa.endecacommunity.com/questions/149/creating-endeca-dispatcher-using-spring-mvc-instead-of-assemblerjsp-in-endeca-310
Re: How to use Spring MVC instead of assembler.jsp in endeca 3.1.0
    Thanks,
    Yuki

Instead of writing HTML directly why not write an XML representation of your data and then use XSLT to create an HTML view and a PDF view. PDF can be generated from XML using FOP (http://xml.apache.org/fop/index.html).

  • Create Custom Application E-Commerce B2B with IPC

    Hello,
I  created a custom E-commerce application with NWDI. I followed the very clear "How-to_Create_Custom_Application_In_E-commerce" document of Hari Ravu. All steps has been done successfully. I applied the XCM files of my B2B standard application.
    <p>
When I don't set "IPC use", my custom B2B application work well in my laptop J2EE engine (I use NWDS workplace for the development) and after deploiment.
    <p>
But when I select "IPC use" (in the XCM and the shopadmin),  an exception is raised when I browse in the catalog.
For information the b2b standard application work well with IPC. No error is detected in local and in my developement server.
    <p>
It seems to be an issue with the IPC class dependencies but I didn't solve  the pb. In the document of Hari Ravu, no detail has be done concerning IPC dependencies.
    <p>
I found some thread about the pb with IPCintegration with the B2B custom appli, , but these threads don't provide the solution
    <p>
I have to use IPC for the pricing and product configuration for my project, so if somebody can help me..
    <p>
    Thank you

    Hello Pradeep, <p>
I am trying to configure the "Single session Trace" (OSS Note 1090753) but I am not able to see the second Tabs 'Single Session trace"
when I select the logging link in the Administration console of my application.
        - I modified as described the  attribut  "ForceSingleTraceFile" in the visual Admin.
        - I modified the appinfo and logFileDownload attributs to TRUE in the XCM
        - I rebooted the cluster
    Extract of OSS note 1090753
    4. Choose the 'Logging' link.
a page with two tabs 'Log Configuration' and 'Session Tracing' is displayed.
The Session Tracing doesn't appear for me !!
do you not why I am not able to see the Single session trace ?
Currenty, the only way is to retrieve trace in the file defaultTrace10.log.  (see my previous log capture)
    Thanks for your help

  • Intregration of E-commerce web site with SAP B1 2007A

    Hi All,
I have a e-commerce web site. so can any one tell me in detail how can i intigrate it with with my SAP System. I am using SAP B1 2007 A.
    Thanking you.
    Hari

    Hello Harinarayan,
There could be many approach for doing this thing. We have implemented similar scenarios in 2-3 companies. We have followed following approach:
    a) Generate and send email from the website to a particular email address.
    b) Configure one computer to receive these emails in outlook
    c) Run a program, written in VB, using DI-API, to parse the emails and create appropriate entries in B1
    d) Create a separate program and run it to update the website database.
This approach has been good for us, as it do not require dedicated internet connectivity on B1 server, which will be required when using SOAP, or DI-Server. It could easily be configured to run automatically after a fixed interval of time, so that it does not require any manual intervention either.
I would happy to share the ideas and coding for this, if required.

  • Strange Oracle error when adding Chamber of Commerce to org.

    All,
Can somebody please explain what the following error means.
APP-PAY-07207: The mandatory argument ORG_INFORMATION_CONTEXT value cannot be null.
Cause: The mandatory argument ORG_INFORMATION_CONTEXT has either not been specified or has been explicitly set to null in the API hr_ori_bus.update_validate.
Action: Either specify a value for the ORG_INFORMATION_CONTEXT argument which is not null or contact your local support representative.
I'm trying to fill in the chamber of Commerce for a organisation, but every time i try to save the error above pops-up. In other org's there are no problems. So, Please help.

  • Weblogic Commerce and Personalisation Server

The Company I am working for just purchased both Commerce and personalisation server
as they wish to revamp their current
    website into a modern one.
I have a few questions as I have been doing some portal creation with the personlization
    server.
How does the Personalisation server connect with the commerce server?. The Company
I am working for has been
bought by anither company in the States and this US based company has bought three
other companies as well. I created Portals for these five companies in the commerce
server and added or changed the respectie images within the company folder.
When the users now log on the the coporate website, and wiish to be directed to
their Companys implementation to their own website, do we have
to create other folders or commerce server portlets for the different companies?
I am relatively new to Weblogic 6.0 as I used 5.1 in the past any help would be
    appreciated with diagrams if possible
    Thanx

    Bola,
    You've posed two questions here:
    1. How does Commerce and Personalization servers relate?
Think of the product offerings as a stack. Personalization Server (WLPS) is built
on Weblogic Server (WLS). Commerce Server (WLCS) is built on WLPS. Campaign Manager
    is built on WLCS.
What this means is that if you have a WLCS license, you have WLCS and WLPS. WLCS
depends and extensively uses WLPS. If you spend some time with the WLCS templates
(the hardware store demo) and the APIs, hopefully this will become apparent.
    2. Do we have to create different portals/portlets for the different companies?
One way to solve your problem would be to have 5 different portals. This might
make sense if the companies are completely separate from each other. But if users
need access to resources across the companies, you probably want to create 1 portal,
and then have company specific portlets.
Its really hard to generalize here. You might want to engage a BEA sales engineer
to help you scope out what you need. The product is a generic solution, but the
application of the product is highly customizable to your needs.
Sorry for being so generic, but its really hard to elaborate further.
http://e-docs.bea.com is a good place to get more info.
