E-commerce options

Hi all,
I'm developing a web site for hosted services. I have been
using the paypal toolkit to add the subscription buttons to my
website. The problem with this is for a large number of options, I
need a large number of buttons/pages etc. What I would like to do
ideally is to have drop down list options and have a price
auto-update which is then transfered to paypal. Is there a way to
do this?
Thanks

Joseph ~ Yes, you could link to a page/s built in weebly.com's free, web-based design app. See the video here:

  • When Adobe will develop an e-commerce functionality for Muse?

    Hi!
I'm a graphic designer for the print and I want to creat a web site without code. Muse is perfect for that but there is no e-commerce option...
So do u know if Adobe will develop Muse in this Way?
    thank u!!

Well, given that Muse is ultimately in the "feedback" stages of development, I don't see the change happening at least until this latest 2.0 beta has been finalized, so hopefully within the year. But you can be likely to expect a price change/increase. Otherwise, no official word of any set release date is known of this time.

  • Ecommerce sites

I was wondering how designers out there deal with the
encroachment of turnkey ecommerce solutions that provide
newsletter, etc. at a fairly low monthly rate, such as this one
    http://www.3dcart.com/pricing.htm.
Notice that they only allow 500mb bandwidth in the basic
    plan...

E-commerce is a very large topic that requires much experience with web security, databases and processing credit cards safely.  If you are not an expert programmer, you might be much better off using a 3rd party shopping cart system that is both secure & PCI compliant such as Shopify or UltraCart.

  • Adding buttons to site

Hello, I'm a photographer and am in the midst of working on my website. I was wondering if anyone knows of an "add to cart" button that I can add to a page? I'm selling my prints online and would like to add this feature. I've looked and looked through iWeb and what it offers, but couldn't come up with anything. I was curious if you can take an outside source and use that somehow. I appreciate any help.

Legality of sales is not a consideration with an iWeb built site.
The terms and conditions of MobileMe appear to discourage its use for commerce but the OP has not specified that the site is hosted with the Apple server.
An iWeb built site can make use of a large number of different E Commerce options.
The benefits of using a commercial hosting service far outweigh the convenience of publishing to MobileMe as the Apple server's unreliability and lack of essential features rule it out for this purpose rather than any restrictions imposed by the terms and conditions.

  • Website options for e-commerce.

    Hello, everyone.
I am setting up a simple website that I intend to use (among other things) to sell a few items associated with services I will be offering in this site. My website will be hosted at my own local server and I don't have the advanced technical skills with web design and networking services that would allow me to set up anything very complicated.
Are there any services I can use for the completion of the sale process ? In other words, the browser would choose the product on my site but then be transferred to another site where he/she would complete the transaction. Afterwards I would like this service to redirect the browser back to my site if this option if available.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks,
    Joseph

Joseph ~ Weebly, a free web-based site builder, offers e-commerce — see the video here:
    http://blog.weebly.com/2/post/2009/05/announcing-weebly-e-commerce-features.html
...I haven't used it, but presumably you could link from your iWeb site to your Weebly e-commerce page in a new browser window — so visitors don't leave your iWeb site completely.
An alternative to Weebly is to incorporate PayPal buttons into your iWeb site:

  • How to add more options for e-commerce shopping chart?

I am considering to use BC for web shop to sell printed products. I would like to add a feature that customer can choose printing size and server side script would count final price of the product.
I am now choosing a platform for my e-commerce but I do not know enough if BC is a good platform for developers? Is it possible to add this kind of features with BC API?
    Kind regards,
    Susi Waegelein
    www.kuvita.org

You create attributes on the product and an attribute can have a price associated with it that adds to the total product price.

  • How does the "On Sale" option work for e-commerce?

I can't seem to find any documentation for this. What code is required & how do I set this up please?

As mentioned in the other post,
It is a tick and a tag that is true or false.
You have to manually change the product price to indicate it is lower price and then use the tag and CSS to style. It is not what your thinking it is with dynamic price changing

  • Edit an OS Commerce template in dreamweaver

    Hi
I downloaded an os commerece template for my first e commerce store and everything is set up ok, just need to edit the whole template to my products and colours. I am trying to remove the stamp at the bottom that says designed by monstertemplate, with their website links at the bottom but not having any luck. I can see the the links code when I turn on the live code view in dreamweaver but cant see it when I go to codes to try and edit it. Maybe I am missing something and would appricate any help. This is the website:
http://creativeinky.com/site/index.php - The links I want to remove are at the footer of the website. This has not been edited yet and the store is not functional.
This is what I see in codes:( I have tried to remove oscommerce at the top but that does not help). Which code is for the stamp at the bottom links as I cannot see it in this code view where I can edit it. Please help.

Obviousy this is not as plain saliling as I thought. Being as though its OScommerce you probably have to jump through hiops to get to what you need.

  • Addled Brain- which direction to go in setting up a t-shirt e-commerce site. Please help wise people!

    Hello,
I have a little experience from 10 years ago building web sites, but things have changed a lot (but i am very good at teaching myself).  Can anyone advise me on the way to go?
I want to create a t-shirt e-commerce site and have no money to pay anyone to make the site (maybe when the business is flying i will, but for now) - i am designing it myself and have all the design elements done, but do not know the best way to implement it given all the technologies out there; and do not want to go one way, to find out my efforts were wasted much later.  Here's my thinking...
The main site contains the t-shirts.  When a user clicks on a picture it takes them to a 't shirt options' page where they can configure the design (put the design on the pocket, the back or the front in the center etc).  I was going to create check boxes for them to do this which when clicked, will change the picture to show them how it looks.  This means i will create picture for every possible check box option and load that into the 'this is what you t shirt looks like' space (easy enough and i can do that i think).  I will do that for every t-shirt on the main page.
But I was thinking, could I just have a plane t-shirt in the 'this is what you t shirt looks like' space and using a picture of the design,  just reposition it and resize it using (and this is where my knoweldge is small at the moment) jqeury or some other language, or even CSS and divs?  What would be the best appraoch?  This way i would only have to create the design and the blank T-shirt and use code to position it to represent the final product.  Would it better to use a CMS such a Joomla to do this (this seems very complicated)?  Before i go any further than the design i thought i would ask you clever people.
Thanks if you got this far...
    Conundrum part 2:
The user will then click proceed to checkout where i will use a shopping cart system (probably Zen cart because that is on the hosting company's server that intend to use (unless suggested otherwise)).  I will need each version of the t-shirt to have a unique product ID that relates to a database that contains pricing options and this will be sent to the 'zen cart' and that will process the transaction.  Is my understanding correct?
Many thanks for any suggestions.  Learnign one or two  things (CSS and DW) is OK, learning 5 things at once is making my head hurt! I have become confused

Zen cart is free.  And you get what you pay for -- software that is hard to work with, not very good, poorly supported and has many security vulnerabilities which is why hackers love to exploit it.
Get a real shopping cart. Money well spent.  Building one yourself is risky and requires expert skill with server-security, data encryption, PHP, MySql, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PCI compliance, SSL certificates, etc...   You'll drive yourself crazy trying to learn everything you don't know.
UltraCart is easy to set-up and they have a free 30 day trial so you can test before you decide.  There are many PCI compliant commercial carts you can use.   If you have a merchant bank account, start with your bank to find out which gateways and processors they require you to use.  That will narrow your search to carts that work with your payment gateway.
As for your site, keep it simple, semantic, user friendly and responsive.

  • E-Commerce Catalog error and log configurator probelm?

    Hello,
I am trying to browse a B2B shop (http://server:port/b2b/b2b/init.do) in CRM 5.0 and getting following error message:
The catalog that you have selected is currently unavailable; try again later
I am using CRM 5.0 System (IDES Client) and basically trying to setup a E-Commerce development environment.
Following are the steps i have done so far for E-Commerce configuration:
    1. Configured ISADMIN (http://server:port/isauseradm/admin/xcm/init.do).
1.1 Changed following params for Start->General Application Settings->Customer->isauseradm->isauseradmconfig:
    >> SSLEnabled: false
    >> appinfo: true
    >> show start.jsp: true
    >> AddUserToPartner: true
    >> AcceptExistingUser: true
1.2 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Components->Customer->jco and entered my back end CRM System details and saved it as CRM_800_JCO. I also did Run Test which was successful.
1.3 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Application Configurations->Customer and entered following params and saved it with name CRM_800_ISAUSERADMSTD:
    >> Base configuration: isauseradmStandard
    >> default configuration: X
    >> active configuration: X
    >> jcodata: CRM_800_JCO
    >> backendtype: crmdefault
    >> usertype: CRM_Standalone
    >> uidata: default
    2. Configured B2B (http://server:port/b2b/admin/xcm/init.do).
2.1 Changed following params for Start->General Application Settings->Customer->b2b->b2bconfig:
    >> SSLEnabled: false
    >> appinfo: true
    >> show start.jsp: true
2.2 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Components->Customer->jco and entered my backend CRM System details and saved it as CRM_800_JCO. I also did Run Test which was successful.
2.3 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Application Configurations->Customer and entered following params and saved it with name CRM_800_B2BCRMSTD:
    >> Base configuration: b2bcrmstandard
    >> default configuration: X
    >> active configuration: X
    >> jcodata: CRM_800_JCO
    >> usertype: CRM_Standalone
    3. I was really not sure if ShopAdmin config is required or not but i did it. Configured SHOPADMIN (http://server:port/shopadmin/admin/xcm/init.do).
3.1 Changed following params for Start->General Application Settings->Customer->shopadmin->shopadminconfig:
    >> SSLEnabled: false
    >> appinfo: true
    >> show start.jsp: true
3.2 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Components->Customer->jco and entered my backend CRM System details and saved it as CRM_800_JCO. I also did Run Test which was successful.
3.3 Created a new JCo connection under Start->Application Configurations->Customer and entered following params and saved it with name CRM_800_CRMSHOP:
    >> Base configuration: crmshop
    >> default configuration: X
    >> active configuration: X
    >> jcodata: CRM_800_JCO
    4. Restarted CRM J2EE.
    5. Setup TREX 7.0.
5.1 From TREX Administration, created a new connection (Type A, i.e., using System Number and Application Server Host) for CRM System and also RFC Dest. (sm59) in CRM System.
5.2 Restarted TREX and connected this connection.
5.3 Following are the visible column values for this connection in TREX Administration:
    >> Connection Status: <connected>
    >> Configuration Satus: Green
    >> SAP System: CRM
    >> RFC Destination: TREX_DEFAULT
    >> Gateway: local
    >> RfcServer Instances: 1 (no automatic changes)
    >> TREXRfcServer Processes: 1
    >> Workprocesses: 6 (4 DIA, 2BGD)
5.4 Did a RFC Connection test in CRM System using SM59 which was successful as well.
5.5 Using Transaction SRMO (Retrieval : Search Server Relation Monitor) in CRM System changed the RFC Destination for Search server ID DRFUZZY (for both I and S type RFC Server destination action) to TREX_DEFAULT. Did a connection test for this and it was successful.
    6. Initiated Replication using transaction COMM_PCAT_IMS_INIT with following params:
    >> Product Catalog: PCSHOP
    >> Variant: VAR_EN
    >> Search Server Relation:  DRFUZZY
    >> Publishing Computer ID:
    >> Allows Parallel Processing:
    >> Publish Documents via HTTP:
    >> Transfer Document Content: X
    >> Package Size of Indexing: 5,000
    >> Processing Existing Indexes: Overwrite Index Only When OK
    >> Behavior when Error Messages Occur: Cancel Variant Replication
    7. Logged into ISADMIN User Config (http://server:port/isauseradm/useradmin/init.do) and created a new user using the option New User and New Contact Person with an existing company of type Sold-To Party and which belongs to the sales area that is linked with PCSHOP Product Catalog (from IDES data).
Now, when i log into B2B Page (http://server:port/b2b/b2b/init.do) using the newly created user and click on the shop PC4BIZ_EN i get following error message:
The catalog that you have selected is currently unavailable; try again later
I also created a new Product Catalog and did the Initial Replication still getting the same above error message.
Can anyone please tell me what am i missing or what mistake i have done?
I even restarted CRM System, but the result is still the same.
Also, how do i check the log files for B2B? I checked the E-Commerce Admin Console (http://server:port/b2b/admin/index.jsp) and clicked on the logging link, but i get the following message:
Logging is now configured centrally in the J2EE Engine Visual Administrator (server service: Log Configurator)
How exactly do i configure and what is the right path for B2B Logging in J2EE Visual Administrator? And where will the log files for B2B be stored on the server?
I would really appreciate (and of course award points) for your help on this.
    thanks and regards,
    Vasu

Thanks for the Note reference. I will go through it now and try to check the log files.
And regarding the error message i don't think it could be because of The Catalog variant is not set right in the Shopadmin application as all the values in Shopadmin seem to be correct. Anyhow following are the current values selected for the custom Product Catalog I created:
    Shop Id: ZTEST

Regarding the reason "The Catalog was not replicated properly and is hence unavailable on TREX", is there any way to verify this? When i ran Initial Replication (transaction COMM_PCAT_IMS_INIT with the values i said in my first post) everything was green.
Also, how do i clear the Catalog Cache? Is it the same as clearing the Catalog Cache Statistics in E-Commerce Administration Console (http://server:port/b2b/admin/index.jsp)?
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Using Hprof with Commerce Server 3.5

My company is beginning the move to J2EE and I have been tasked with researching
profilers. I quickly came across Hprof, which is provided by the Sun JVM through
the use of the -Xrunhprof option. I have been able to successfully profile a
very small test application (stand alone app). However, I run into problems when
I use Hprof and try to start the example server provided with Commerce Server
3.5 (with WebLogic 6.0). Please see below for my syntax and results.
    Syntax
    %JAVA_HOME%\bin\java -Xrunhprof:cpu=times,doe=y .....
    Results
The server appears to start and work correctly (no HRPOF ERROR: messages). When
I shut it down (using the console) and look at the java.hprof.txt file that is
created, the hprof data has not been fully written to the file. The file ends
in the middle of a trace:
    TRACE 6687:
         java/net/URLStreamHandler.getDefaultPort(URLStreamHandler.java:Unknown line)
I am curious if anyone has run into this problem before and how they might have
corrected it. Can anyone suggest a set of Hprof parameters to use? Or provide
a link to a good description of all of the parameters (I haven't found a lot of
    documentation on it)?
I know that there are other commercial profilers (JProbe, Optimizeit, etc.) but
I would like to learn the basics before diving into them.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Martin,
You probably already noticed, but a new WLCS 3.5 license has been

  • Use of external LDAP server in Weblogic Commerce Server

    I'm using the following software:
    Iplanet Directory Server v5
    Weblogic Application Server v6
    Weblogic Commerce v3.5
I need to configure Weblogic Commerce Server to use Iplanet Directory Server directory
services. How do I do that?
I have a couple of questions related to this:
    1) As Weblogic Commerce Server runs on top of Weblogic v6, does it mean that to
use an external LDAP server, I need to configure weblogic v6 to do that and not
    Weblogic Commerce Server?
    2) Whatever may be the case above, how do I do that?
    3) config.xml (weblogic application server v6) contains information that needs
to be modified to point to an external JNDI source provider but what information
    do I need to modify?
I'd really appreciate if someone can help me out here. Thanks!

    Hi,
I'm looking for someone who has used the Lotus LDAP server for WLP7
    authentication.
I connect my portal to the Domino LDAP, User and Groups are working
fine, but the membership of a user to a group is not.
I assume that it's related to the parameters I use (especially the
    membership.filter ?):
    "user.filter=(&(uid=%u)(objectclass=person));
    user.dn=O=Apac;
    membership.filter=(&(uniquemember=%M)(objectclass=groupOfNames));
    group.filter=(&(cn=%g)(objectclass=groupOfNames));
    server.host=jpgal01.apac.bea.com;
    group.dn="
Any help would be appreciate, because I just don't where to look for.
    Try setting the com.netscape.ldap.trace property.
\* When -D command line option is used, defining the property with
    * no value will send the trace output to the standard error. If the
    * value is defined, it is assumed to be the name of an output file.
    * If the file name is prefixed with a '+' character, the file is
    * opened in append mode.
This will create a ldap trace file of the requests that WLS is making on the
LDAP server. You can then see
where the filters are not returning the correct value for the group
    membership.

Is there any thing I am missing ... any suggestion why I am getting this error.
    Thank you
    Ram

    Hi Chris,
I have moved to test environment and started working on a clean slate.
I understand what you are trying to tell regarding maintaining the XCM scenario in variant config (SPRO).
I have complete the following steps.
    1) Activated VMC
    2) IPC is set active in Shop Management.
    3) Table TBE31 is maintained for the Event
    4) table CRMCONSUM is maintained for IPC
    5) Table CRMRFCPAR is maintained with two entries. Though RFC destination is not maintained.
RFC destinations in AP system are not maintained as we are running SAP E-Commerce 5.0 using ECC 6.0 as backend.
    6) ran the report CFG_AP_INITIALISE_DB -- every thing is green and can see the knowledge bases in the log.
    7) I have maintained the parameter "ipcjcodata" with the JCO component - and maintained the JCO connection user with authorization objects S_MI_ADMCO and S_RFC (with necessary functional groups).
Now If I login to b2b/init.do -- I can see the configuration icon next to the configurable product.
Once I click on the icon -
I can see the reset, accept, cancel options and status and product variant tabs.
But the charecteristics tabs and charecteristics are not being displayed. -- which shows blank.
the jsp's which are showing blank are
    1) /ipc/components/characteristicGroup.jsp
    2)  /ipc/tiles/characteristicGroup.jsp/ipc/tiles/characteristics.jsp
Is there any thing I am missing - Please suggest.
    Thank you
    Ram

  • Sales orders, vendor determination in SAP CRM vs CRM E-Commerce?

    Hello,
We are creating Sales Order through SAP CRM E-Commerce B2B scenario.
We noticed that vendor is determined at header level but not at item.
If we create a Sales Order in SAP UI (tx: CRMD_BUS2000115) (same transaction type used by B2B) with the same data Vendor is determined at header and at item.
    Any idea?
    Best Regards

    Hello Folks,
I Have many years implementing IBM Net.Commerce and Websphere Commerce Suite, and 3 years with SAP CRM. What I can tell you:
IBM Sol. has less tables than SAP. It´s much easier to extend the Database.
In terms of catalog management IBM Solution, it´s not good. There´s a web interface do administer it. Very hard. There´s the option to use the massimport utiity. Same thing as Batch input of SAP.
Integration to third party solutions for IBM product, it´s hard. Have to use WBI, or decompile java kernel. For SAP is easier, depending of what you need.
Both solutions work with B2B and B2C, plus IBM working with dutch, reverse and normal auctions.
IBM can work with mobile but you need to acquire the everyplace solution suite. SAP CRM can work with integration for handhelds, naturally, just configure it.
Now the point where it´s very hard really: Taxes and deliveries. SAP has localization for almost every countries around the world. IBM just works fine for USA and Canadá.
For the pricing procedure, SAP, indeed is much better.
Conection with third party delivery companies, like Fedex, UPS or DHL, both don´t have it. Including taxes, except IBM for USA and Canadá, how told you before.
For materials, SAP has a much better implementation, to work with products, itens, services, and so on. IBM has infinite number co categorize a product, and products can have a limited number of attributes. For example a blue and pink pant. Color is an attribute for sap.
For user, IBM has something named non stop shop, where is possible to buy something without a full registration. In SAP, yu have to register entirely.
About visual Design, for both you must respect the JSP, or BSP, in front-end, for IBM and SAP solutions. Don´t leave it on hand of the webdesigner.
The learning curve for learning both are long.
Well there are the points... If you need something else, contact me.
    regards,
    Luiz David
