E-mailing scheduled reports

Will Discoverer 3i allow scheduled reports to be emailed to users as a PDF document or HTML document or a link to one of the above?
Also, if this is allowed, will security settings be kept in the report so users only see the data related to them?
Can reports be emailed to a group, rather than a single user - by aliasing a list of users with a group name - and can security settings be applied to the group, or possibly by each user within a group?
IF there is information out there regarding the emailing of scheduled reports from Discoverer, please post a link to this information. I have looked throughout the Oracle site and found no specific info.
Thanks
cb

Chad,
I would suggest that you look into 4.1 it allows you to send reports view email. But not scheduled reports.. You would want to use Oracle Reports to produce PDF's that are emailed to users... Your steps would be to create your report in Discoverer then export to oracle reports... Thats if you still wanted to design in Discoverer.

  • How to e-mail/not e-mail a scheduled report based on records returned

    Hi Everyone,
Is there a way that there can be logic performed on a report that has been scheduled and ran before it gets sent via e-mail to the end users?  We have scheduled reports that often end up with 0 records returned but users still get the e-mail with the report that contains 0 records.  I would like to e-mail the reports only if the records returned is greater than 0.
We are on v3.1 so if there is a solution for 3.1 that would be great.  If this capability exists in 4.0, that information would be very helpful as well.
    Thank you for your time.
    David Hellinger

Apply an event on your report.
First go to Cmc, create an event based for example on a file that should be created in certain route if the query won't return 0 rows.
Then apply this event in your report Schedule option Event.

  • Scheduled report is failing to be triggered via email in SCOM 2007 R2.

    Hi All,
I have this strange issue. I have created a scheduled report from the SCOM reporting. It is a default report which comes in SCOM, It is the Most common alerts available in the Microsoft generic report library.
I also have the SMTP server configured in the Reporting services configuration manager as in the below screenshot.
The email relay server mentioned in that its self is used for our SCOM Alert email subscription as well and it works fine.
When i schedule the report and when it tries to send the report it gives the below error, Saying that "at least Senders / From field is missing or empty"
As you see i have mentioned a from / senders email address, But i still get that error.
I checked the RMS event logs but there are no related events for this issue.
Does any one have an idea on this ?

    Make sure that the following
1.Verify that the Report Server Windows service has Send As permissions on the SMTP server.
2.In Sender Address of Reporting Services Configuration tool, enter the name an account that has permission to send e-mail from the SMTP server.
    3. Moreover, check the event log of SQL reporting server

  • Scheduled Report Failing - Don't Know Why

I'm trying to re-create a scheduled report on CMC that had gotten deleted. It ran before (sometimes multiple times...) but at least it ran. I'm duplicating all the settings for this report based on how they were before, but every time I try to get the report to run, it fails.
I don't know enough about this to be able to embed any kind of error messages in the e-mail notifications we get. All I know is that no matter what I change/tweak/adjust, we get an email saying "This report has failed to run."
What kinds of things should I be looking at to troubleshoot? I know the report itself is fine, as users can view it normally (as in, through other viewers). There's definitely something specific to the scheduling process that is not correct, but I don't know what to look at.
Here is how the scheduling is currently configured:
    Schedule > Main Tab
    -Run Weekly, Tues - Sat
-Start Date: 10/01/08, 8:30 AM (I originally set this up yesterday, so today at 8:30 should have been the first time it ran, but instead it failed)
    -End Date: 10/01/18, 12:00 AM
    -Number of retries allowed: 0
    -Retry interval in seconds: 1800
    Schedule > Notification
-Email notification based on: a job has failed to run
-Message: Report failed to run. Scheduled Report: %SI_NAME% - %SI_STARTTIME% What other codes can we put in this message, BTW? I've been trying to look for something to return error codes, but %SI_OUTCOME%, %SI_STATUSINFO%, and %SI_ALERT_MESSAGE% don't display anything, they just print on the email
    Schedule > Destination
    -Destination: Email (SMTP)
-Clean up instance after scheduling is checked
-We have "Set the values to be used at schedule time here:" populated with our list of email addresses for recipients
-Attach object instance to email message is checked
    -Specified file name: %SI_NAME%%SI_STARTTIME%.%EXT%
    -Add extension is checked
    Schedule > Format
-Format: Microsoft Excel (Still fails if we choose Excel Data Only or Adobe Acrobat)
-Use options saved with report is checked (Still fails if we deselect this)
    Schedule > Schedule For
    -Schedule only for myself.
Could really use some help here, as I don't know what in the world could be causing this to fail. Thanks in advance.

First thing is to forget all the complex configs and just try to schedule the report to run once now, no alerts, no notifications, no nothing.
    Does that work?
Then you can build up the schedule, to see where the problem is coming from.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Scheduled report sent twice

    Crystal 10.0
This has happened to two of my reports now and I can't see anything wrong. I've loaded the report in the normal way and confirmed its working, then added a schedule to send it automatically to a number of people (individual email addresses entered). The report runs at the designated time, but two copies of the report are sent.
Looking at the history tab the report has two success instances a second apart.
    Has anybody encountered this before?

The same thing has happened with us.  We are new to Business Objects and we were successful in scheduling reports to e-mail, but in InfoView the reports are sent twice.  We thought it was "Keep an instance in the history" checkbox, but that didn't work either.

  • How to change the sender's name/email-id in the scheduled report

    Hi,
We have SCOM 2007 R2. In the Reporting tab (SCOM Console), we have some scheduled reports. I need to change the sender's name/email-id in a scheduled report. When we receive the report through email, receiving with the person's name who moved out of the
    team.
I tried to change but could not find the option to change while editing the properties in SCOM Console under Reporting -> Scheduled Reports.
When we are receiving mail from that scheduled report, instead of an individual name, would like to provide a generic name. Please help me out. Let me know, if you need more information.
    Thanks,
    Naren.
    Thanks & regards, Naren.

    Hello,
the SCOM scheduled reports feature rely on SQL Reporting Services. So, if you would like to change the SMTP configuration, you should go in SQL Reporting Services Configuration Manager:
Open in the Start Menu, Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
In the connection window, click OK.
Click on the tab E-mail settings.
    Change the Sender Address.
    Click Apply.
Alternatively, you could also change in the Scheduled report properties the field
Reply to. I think it should customize the reply address for each scheduled reports, but I have never used it. Anyway, doing it with Reporting Services Configuration Manager is more interesting in the long-run.

  • Schedule report to run daily

    Hi,
I want the Inventory Audit Report to run automatically daily (and thereby update the Last Evaluated Price).
I know the report scheduler can schedule reports for user queries, but I need this out-of-the-box B1 report to run automatically with a predefined schedule.

    Hi Ajay,
You can not Schedule Standard Report for Scheduling for Email.
Please check below link for Scheduling Report and Email.

You can also do this by ALERT Function of SAP B1.

  • Mail Scheduling not working

    Hallo,
address error. [Fehler beim Senden von Adresse(n) an SMTP-Server. Rückgabecode: . Ursache: [].]: CrystalEnterprise.Smtp
    2) Ohne Email Notification (jegliches Format):
    Error c3_core_error_de_504
*Scheduling eines WebI Reports mit SAP Daten dahinter
    1)Mit Email Notification (jegliches Format):
    Wie oben
    2)Ohne Email Notification (Format Webi/pdf)
Success u2013 MAIL KOMMT ABER NIE AN!
Hat jemand das selbe Problem bzw. eine Lösung?
    Danke,
    Beste Grüße,
    Heike Baumann

Oh sorry!!! I mix it all the time.
    So once again in english:
Mail scheduling is not working in our BO4.0 environment. (in general no mail send is working at all)
I get error message or succes, but in both cases I do not receive a mail.
    - I did the same in 3.1, there everything is working fine. (with the same infrastructure (firewall, smtp server etc)
    - The "destination" settings are the same in 3.1 and 4.0
    - TELNET from the BO40 server to the SMTP server is working fine as well
There are my scenarios during mail scheduling:
Scheduling of a WebI report WITHOUT ANY data behind (just a text header an footer)
    1) Scheduling WITH Email Notification (any format)
address error. [Fehler beim Senden von Adresse(n) an SMTP-Server. Rückgabecode: http://SMTP 530 - Authentifizierung erforderlich.. Ursache: http://].: http://CrystalEnterprise.Smtp
(sorry for that, I am logged in in english, but BO is also mixing languages
    It says something like:
address error. Error during sending of addresses to smtp server. Return code: http://SMTP 530 - Authentication neccessary.. reason: http://<mailaddress>.: http://CrystalEnterprise.Smtp
(--> my network/ smtp expert told me, that we have no authentication. It is also working in 3.1 without)
    2) Scheduling WITHOUT Notification (any format)
    Error c3_core_error_de_504
Scheduling of a Webi Report WITH SAT data behind
    1) Scheduling WITH Email Notification (any format)
    as above
    2) Scheduling WITHOUT Notification (any format)
success - but I never get a mail!
    Thanks a lot,
    best regards,
    Heike

  • Querying the output of a batch/scheduled report

We haven't move to Discoverer Viewer as of now. One of the questions I have to those who have already implemented it is, can you schedule a batch report in the viewer and then users are able to query the RESULT of it without querying back the database? We have concerns on performance during the day so scheduling reports to run at night would be convenient for us.
    thanks for any comments........

In the concurrent program screen, select options . Under Notify the following person, eneter the email address where output needs to be sent.
Other option could be to create a send mail package and call that from after report trigger of report. The email address can be inputed as a parameter. For more information for this visit
    http://sureshvaishya.blogspot.com/2008/02/email-through-plsql.html
The third option could be to call the report from a shell script program and after report is completed email the output using mailx functionality.

  • Schedule reports - Email config

Can somebody provide me the steps for enable schedule report options and the email configuration.
Would Email,SMTP configuration enable us to schedule reports provided we have permissions assigned ?
Please provide any steps or configurations..Thanks..

    Hi John,
I have the SMTP address with the ports and we have our mail server.
As per admin guide, what would be the user for the destination ?
    User Name
Provide the Job Server with a user name that has permission to send email
and attachments through the SMTP server.
    Password
Provide the Job Server with the password for the SMTP server.
Can i just leave the user name and password so that the users email will be taken ?
Please refer to SAP Note 455140 to configure the SMTP plug-in to send emails. However there is no section in SAPconnect to enable you to add a user and password as a means of authentication. You will have to enter the IP address of your sending SAP application server to your mail server as a means of authentication to enable emails to be correctly relayed to your mail server.
    Hope this helps
    Michael

  • How to configure a Office 365 email on SAP BI 4.1SP05 server to send scheduled reports by email ?

    Hi All,
I am trying to figure out how to configure office 365 server on BI platform so that I can send scheduled reports by Email.
    Below are the system details:
    SAP BI 4.1 SP05
    Microsoft Office 365 Email account
I referred to the SCN post for configuring gmail.
I could easily configure my gmail account.
I tried same logic with Office 365. Instead of using port 465 (for gmail) I used port 995 (for office 365).
    That didnt work.
I also tried using port 587 for TLS authentication but that doesnt work either.
SMTP Link for office 365:  smtp.office365.com
For simplicity purposes, I have opened all the ports on the firewall and server.
Please let me know if I have missed anything or if my whole approach is incorrect ?
I am open to suggestions and workarounds.
    Thanks,
    Prathmesh Pai

    Hi there,
When the order is saved, the system will call the mail ID maintained in SU01 of the user.
It will then trigger the mail to the regular outlook mailbox.
Else in some cases a new Z table is defined to maintain the mail IDs. System will trigger the mail through outlook. It has that inbuilt capability.
Just ask your user to check his mail box to see if he has received the mail.
    Regards,
    Sivanand

  • Crystal Report Server - Scheduled Reports Have Failed - SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_SE

    Hi,
Recently, several scheduled reports have failed with the error message "server error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_SEND(3)". It happens randomly, to different reports at different times. Can anyone let me know what information does this need to troubleshoot. Thanks!
    Senthil

    Hi
I would like to suggest you following things:
    1) Please check the SMTP settings on the respective report's job server. Like Severname of the SMTP
server. Port number of the SMTP and domain.
    2) Check whether are you able to send the mails from mail client to the desired destination.
    3) Verify the Port number given to the SMTP, by default it is 25. And also verify it is not blocked on the
    firewall.
    4) Also verify whether ip address of the server machine where job server is installed is included in the
allowed list at the SMTP server end.
    Regards,
    Hrishikesh
