  • Scheduled Report Failing - Don't Know Why

I'm trying to re-create a scheduled report on CMC that had gotten deleted. It ran before (sometimes multiple times...) but at least it ran. I'm duplicating all the settings for this report based on how they were before, but every time I try to get the report to run, it fails.
I don't know enough about this to be able to embed any kind of error messages in the e-mail notifications we get. All I know is that no matter what I change/tweak/adjust, we get an email saying "This report has failed to run."
What kinds of things should I be looking at to troubleshoot? I know the report itself is fine, as users can view it normally (as in, through other viewers). There's definitely something specific to the scheduling process that is not correct, but I don't know what to look at.
Here is how the scheduling is currently configured:
    Schedule > Main Tab
    -Run Weekly, Tues - Sat
-Start Date: 10/01/08, 8:30 AM (I originally set this up yesterday, so today at 8:30 should have been the first time it ran, but instead it failed)
    -End Date: 10/01/18, 12:00 AM
    -Number of retries allowed: 0
    -Retry interval in seconds: 1800
    Schedule > Notification
-Email notification based on: a job has failed to run
-Message: Report failed to run. Scheduled Report: %SI_NAME% - %SI_STARTTIME% What other codes can we put in this message, BTW? I've been trying to look for something to return error codes, but %SI_OUTCOME%, %SI_STATUSINFO%, and %SI_ALERT_MESSAGE% don't display anything, they just print on the email
    Schedule > Destination
    -Destination: Email (SMTP)
-Clean up instance after scheduling is checked
-We have "Set the values to be used at schedule time here:" populated with our list of email addresses for recipients
-Attach object instance to email message is checked
    -Specified file name: %SI_NAME%%SI_STARTTIME%.%EXT%
    -Add extension is checked
    Schedule > Format
-Format: Microsoft Excel (Still fails if we choose Excel Data Only or Adobe Acrobat)
-Use options saved with report is checked (Still fails if we deselect this)
    Schedule > Schedule For
    -Schedule only for myself.
Could really use some help here, as I don't know what in the world could be causing this to fail. Thanks in advance.

First thing is to forget all the complex configs and just try to schedule the report to run once now, no alerts, no notifications, no nothing.
    Does that work?
Then you can build up the schedule, to see where the problem is coming from.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Scheduled Report Output to Printer

    Hi Guys,
    hope you are all well.
Can someone help me.  I am have created a report and set this to be schedule at X time.  I need the report output via Business Objects XI to be to Printer.
I have set up a printer and set it as a shared printer on the same server BO runs on.  I have also set the printer to Default.  When I schedule the report and set the Print Settings to Default Printer it does not print...no error messages...but no print.  Helppppp as I am going mad.
    Many thanks

We just recently migrated to XI R2 on a new server, and did not consider the print settings...until a user noticed they could not print like normal
We recreated the printers on the new server, and people could then choose a specific printer now. (We named the printers the same as the print ID on the server.)
However, people could not choose Default Printer in Infoview (during Schedule). When they chose it, the report would be successful, but we were not sure where the output would go.
I found a few articles on Knowledge base, and I think #1 and #2 may be our best alternatives.
1202786 - A Crystal report printed through InfoView does not use the default printer on the client computer
1203768 - The default printer is not chosen when printing from Infoview
This last one seems little drastic - all scheduled reports on a jobs server would take the behavior of the job server. This seems excessive.
1217095 - Report does not print when scheduled to printer in Crystal Enterprise or BusinessObjects Enterprise
Article #1 &2 will require retooling of the rpt files, but we plan to address the user issues on a per report basis.

  • How to change the sender's name/email-id in the scheduled report

    Hi,
We have SCOM 2007 R2. In the Reporting tab (SCOM Console), we have some scheduled reports. I need to change the sender's name/email-id in a scheduled report. When we receive the report through email, receiving with the person's name who moved out of the
    team.
I tried to change but could not find the option to change while editing the properties in SCOM Console under Reporting -> Scheduled Reports.
When we are receiving mail from that scheduled report, instead of an individual name, would like to provide a generic name. Please help me out. Let me know, if you need more information.
    Thanks,
    Naren.
    Thanks & regards, Naren.

    Hello,
the SCOM scheduled reports feature rely on SQL Reporting Services. So, if you would like to change the SMTP configuration, you should go in SQL Reporting Services Configuration Manager:
Open in the Start Menu, Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
In the connection window, click OK.
Click on the tab E-mail settings.
    Change the Sender Address.
    Click Apply.
Alternatively, you could also change in the Scheduled report properties the field
Reply to. I think it should customize the reply address for each scheduled reports, but I have never used it. Anyway, doing it with Reporting Services Configuration Manager is more interesting in the long-run.

  • How can I send scheduled reports to group of users?

    Hi,
I want to schedule some reports and send the results to a group of users, which use InfoView. I know that there is an option in the scheduler to send scheduler results to the business objects inbox. By deselecting "standard settings" I can send them to the inboxes of all members of the group.
The problem is, that I have lots of user groups and lost of reports to schedule. Therefore I want to use the web service consumer SDK to configure the scheduler. The SDK allows to configure the business objects inbox as destination, however it seems to lack the functionality to use any other inbox than the one of the logged in user.
    So my questions are:
    - Have I overseen a way to send scheduled reports to multiple inboxes using the web service consumer SDK?
    - As an alternative, is it possible to configure an inbox so it is shown as additional inbox in the InfoView of a user group? Something like a "shared group inbox"?
    - As an alternative, is it possible to have a shared group folder and send the scheduled report there?
    Thanks for any help
    Joern

    Hi Jorn,
I don't know SDK so can't answer that part.
    Regarding the other questions:
    - As an alternative, is it possible to configure an inbox so it is shown as additional inbox in the InfoView of a user group? Something like a "shared group inbox"?
The answer is no. The Inboxes are associated to one account and you need to be logged in with that account to access it.
    - As an alternative, is it possible to have a shared group folder and send the scheduled report there?
Outside of BO yes. You can schedule reports to a shared folder on your network. But not in BO. You can only create an instance where the original report is saved.
Another thing that might help you, would be to have a look at publications. You can schedule several reports at the same time and send them to different groups. It will save a lot of time compared to doing it for each report.

  • Crystal Report Server - Scheduled Reports Have Failed - SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_SE

    Hi,
Recently, several scheduled reports have failed with the error message "server error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_SEND(3)". It happens randomly, to different reports at different times. Can anyone let me know what information does this need to troubleshoot. Thanks!
    Senthil

    Hi
I would like to suggest you following things:
    1) Please check the SMTP settings on the respective report's job server. Like Severname of the SMTP
server. Port number of the SMTP and domain.
    2) Check whether are you able to send the mails from mail client to the desired destination.
    3) Verify the Port number given to the SMTP, by default it is 25. And also verify it is not blocked on the
    firewall.
    4) Also verify whether ip address of the server machine where job server is installed is included in the
allowed list at the SMTP server end.

  • Schedule Reporting doesn't work

    Morning all,
I have a question regarding scheduling reports. I created two reports and set their schedule to:
    First Report
1: Run Daily for 8 days
    2: Start from 29/07/2008 to 08/08/2008
    3: Specific recipients
    4: specific parameters
    5: Schedule time 22:30
    Second Report
1: Run Daily for 31 days
    2: Start from 01/08/2008 to 31/08/2008
    3: Specific recipeints
    4: specific parameters
    5: Schedule time 22:30
Both reports scheduling is set by going into Infoview and set the scheduling by clicking on schedule.
I can see the scheduling is set properly because when I click on reschedule it showed the right settings however, it is not working.
Well it worked for one day meaning I set schedule for the first report on the 29th and I recieved an email with pdf yesterday however, i didn't recieve anything today.
I cannot see any error messages under Report server nor under History of Report Object.
    The report object history shows:
29/07/2008 22:30   LabReworkDailyReport  steven  300.000; 359.000  Adobe Acrobat  Success  Reschedule
29/07/2008 22:30   LabReworkDailyReport  steven  300.000; 359.000  Adobe Acrobat  Recurring  Reschedule
29/07/2008 22:30   LabReworkDailyReport  steven  100.000; 202.000  Adobe Acrobat  Success  Reschedule
29/07/2008 22:30   LabReworkDailyReport  steven  100.000; 202.000  Adobe Acrobat  Recurring  Reschedule
This report only ran for one day but not running daily.
where and what am I doing wrong please advise.
    Many thanks
    Kind Regards
    Jehanzeb

    Fixed!!!
The Frequency should have been set to 1 day not 8 days. I was wondering what it was until I clicked on the Recurring link and saw it said
Object Runs once every 8 days!
I was like nooooooooo it should run every day!
So changed it to 1 day and set it again and now it should work.

  • E-mailing scheduled reports

Will Discoverer 3i allow scheduled reports to be emailed to users as a PDF document or HTML document or a link to one of the above?
Also, if this is allowed, will security settings be kept in the report so users only see the data related to them?
Can reports be emailed to a group, rather than a single user - by aliasing a list of users with a group name - and can security settings be applied to the group, or possibly by each user within a group?
IF there is information out there regarding the emailing of scheduled reports from Discoverer, please post a link to this information. I have looked throughout the Oracle site and found no specific info.
    Thanks
    cb

    Chad,
I would suggest that you look into 4.1 it allows you to send reports view email. But not scheduled reports.. You would want to use Oracle Reports to produce PDF's that are emailed to users... Your steps would be to create your report in Discoverer then export to oracle reports... Thats if you still wanted to design in Discoverer.

  • Ssrs scheduled report

    Hello,
Users are using a report daily which has two parameters:
    @Date and @clientName
The users run this report for different month-ends manually...
This report is now scheduled to run on the 10th of every month at 2:00 am. with th efollowing parameters:
The @Date is set for the last day of the previous month.
The @ClientName is always the same. i.e. @client1
The way I have scheduled it is, say today is 21st July 2014, I placed the date 30 june 2014 into the @Date parameter.
    Question:
Instead of me typing the date for the @Date parameter, i.e. 31 june 2014, how can the report do this so that it knows what @Date parameter to use when it automatically runs.
If I do not manually change the @Date parameter, then for the following month it still uses 31 june 2014 but I have to manually change the scheduled report and enter 31 july 2014 for the next run and so forth.
Remember that I do not want to change the format of the report because the users run this report too and they use different dates.
    Any suggestions please?

    Hi arkiboys,
According to your description, you want the report can auto type the last day of the previous month as the @Date value, rather than manually type the date. To fix this issue, we can type the last day of the previous month with expression as the default value
for the @Date. Then it automatically runs with the default date based on the date, without manually modification. For more details, please see:
Edit the report with Report Builder.
Right-click the @Date parameter to open the Report Parameter Properties dialog box.
Click Default Values in the left pane.
Specify a value with the expression below:
    =dateadd("d",-day(today),today)
Users can change the date for the @Date parameter to others based on their region when he view the report.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error while scheduling report for SAP users

    Hi All,
We have SAP authentication enabled in our BO environment. (BO XI 3.1 sp2 FP 2.6 on windows 2003 server).
There are some webi reports based on BW Bex queries that we are trying to run on behalf of certain SAP end users. This we are doing using "schedule for" option.
Now what is happening here is if the end user has logged in once in BO system ,it runs fine. But in case user has not logged in to BO (using infoview etc.) ,it throws error saying "incomplete logon data" . Also if user changes or reset his password in BW and if he doesn't login to infoview after that ,system throws another error "Name or password incorrect (repeat logon)".
Based on these observation, we are suspecting if BO system uses stored SAP users credentials while scheduling report for them based on their last login.
Would like to mention here that we have checked option "automatically import users".
Please advice if this behavior is normal or we are missing some setting.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chandra

    Hi All,
Any pointers or suggestions for this issue ??
Is there a setting/option avialable in CMC which could resolve these errors.
Or, user has to login once to infoview in all circumstances to avoid these errors.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

  • Issue with SAP Single Sign-On and Scheduling Reports

    Hello --
We are on XI 3.1 with SAP BW and SSO.  Some users are getting failures with this error message when they schedule a report to run:
"A database error occured. The database error text is: Unable to connect to SAP BW server System received an expired SSO ticket. (WIS 10901)."
It SEEMS as though the users are fine if they schedule the report to run immediately and have it run every hour (or less) after that.  If they schedule it to run several hours from the time they are in the system, however, it looks like they begin getting failures around 8 hours after they were in the system.  This would make sense from looking at the "InfoView and Central Management Console Session Management" document (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/405547f9-b840-2b10-44b5-8e17ff9e48a9&overridelayout=true) since a logon token expires after 8 hours, but since it is a scheduled report, and the user is not logged in through a browser, how is a token being passed?  Is it captured and included when the report is scheduled?  Would disabling logon tokens fix this issue?  How is authentication handled here if they are disabled?
    Thanks for any info
    Casey

    Hi Gurus
I am facing the exact same error.
However, we are not trying to schedule the WEBI report.
The user gets this error even when he is running on demand from the portal.
Here are the various steps tha twe have tried and still it doesnt work:
    1) Refreshed and created new Universe connection
    2) Bounced BOE server
    3) Synced up the SSO timeout ticket to 8 hrs on all systems including BOE
    4) Changed browsers
    5) Removed cache, cookies etc
    Please help.

Actually this is a server that grabs data sent from an Iframe and writes it down to a temp file. I open a file input stream, lock it and then use a printwriter strream to write the realyed data to the file. Any inputs as to what is wrong with the code snippet above?????

  • How to display "No data for yesterday" in a scheduled report on Webi

    Hi All,
In Webi, I am working on scheduling reports and was asked by a user if the scheduled report on Webi can display "No data for yesterday/no orders for yesterday" when the report returns no data due to No Orders submitted or a business holiday. This sounded a good idea to me as this report only looks for previous days orders/sales and there are many instances when the report will return blank page due to no activity the day before.
Can anyone please guide me on the possibility of achieving something like this on Webi using Bex query.
Any help will be appreciated .
    Thanks
    Gaurav

    Hi,
You can format the blocks in the report as "Hide When Empty" or "Hide When [some formula]" and have a blank cell added behind these blocks with a text "No Data for Yesterday"
Need to set the relative position and ordering for this accordingly.
