Schedule reports - Email config

Can somebody provide me the steps for enable schedule report options and the email configuration.
Would Email,SMTP configuration enable us to schedule reports provided we have permissions assigned ?
Please provide any steps or configurations..Thanks..

Hi John,
I have the SMTP address with the ports and we have our mail server.
As per admin guide, what would be the user for the destination ?
User Name
Provide the Job Server with a user name that has permission to send email
and attachments through the SMTP server.
Password
Provide the Job Server with the password for the SMTP server.
Can i just leave the user name and password so that the users email will be taken ?
Please refer to SAP Note 455140 to configure the SMTP plug-in to send emails. However there is no section in SAPconnect to enable you to add a user and password as a means of authentication. You will have to enter the IP address of your sending SAP application server to your mail server as a means of authentication to enable emails to be correctly relayed to your mail server.
Hope this helps

  • How to config. to schedule and email reports

    Hi,
Please help me on these questions:
    1. How to configure the reports server (or 9iAS or something
else) to schedule reports, I also need to email the reports to
customers in pdf and excel format, what should I do to achieve
    this?
    2. I have to re_start report server from 6iserver directory
using reports60_server start (on Soloris 5.8, I use SSH to
access it and I build a tunnel for the prot 7777 to my local
computer) every time I run a report, How can I fix this problem?
    3. my reports require passing parameters in, but I didn't see
anywhere I can do this if I run them from URL, any idea how to
    fix ?
    Thanks very much

I can only answer #3, I am looking for the answer to the 2nd
part of #1. You can pass all Report specific paramters to the
reports server with the URL. ex/
    http://server_name/app_server/server.exe?param1=...&param2=...
etc. the param1 and param2 names and values will be passed along
    to the report itself.

  • Scheduled report is failing to be triggered via email in SCOM 2007 R2.

    Hi All,
I have this strange issue. I have created a scheduled report from the SCOM reporting. It is a default report which comes in SCOM, It is the Most common alerts available in the Microsoft generic report library.
I also have the SMTP server configured in the Reporting services configuration manager as in the below screenshot.
The email relay server mentioned in that its self is used for our SCOM Alert email subscription as well and it works fine.
When i schedule the report and when it tries to send the report it gives the below error, Saying that "at least Senders / From field is missing or empty"
As you see i have mentioned a from / senders email address, But i still get that error.
I checked the RMS event logs but there are no related events for this issue.
Does any one have an idea on this ?
    Gautam.75801

    Make sure that the following
1.Verify that the Report Server Windows service has Send As permissions on the SMTP server.
2.In Sender Address of Reporting Services Configuration tool, enter the name an account that has permission to send e-mail from the SMTP server.
    3. Moreover, check the event log of SQL reporting server

  • Scheduling Report through InfoView - Destination Email

My question pertains to InfoView in Crystal Report Server 2008.  I am trying to set up a scheduled report to run once, and be emailed as a pdf to my own email address.  I am using the administrator account and can successfully do this through the CMC, but when I try to schedule the report through InfoView, the destination always reverts back to the Inbox destination rather than the email destination.  The job has a successful status, but the destination is always the Inbox.
I am fairly confident my job servers are set up with the proper SMTP information since I am successful when trying this through the CMC and I am setting everything the same through InfoView.
    Any ideas?

    Hello,
This is Crystal Report Server 2008 and I guess Business Objects Enterprise 3.0.
When scheduling a report through InfoView I do the following:
    Recurrence - Now
Format - I choose PDF, although it doesn't really matter for the problem I am having.
Destination - I choose email from the dropdown, there is no checkbox to ignore the defaults.  I have to input my own information.  I populate the From, To, and Subject boxes.  I also choose to have an attachment sent.
I click the Schedule button and I am taken to the History window.  The job has a status of Running.  I choose refresh and the job completes with a status of Success.  However, when I click the status and the Instance Details are shown, the external destination line reads as Inbox and no email is delivered.  The report is delivered to the InfoView user's inbox, but not in an email as I selected.
This process works when performed through the CMC, but not through InfoView.

  • How to change the sender's name/email-id in the scheduled report

    Hi,
We have SCOM 2007 R2. In the Reporting tab (SCOM Console), we have some scheduled reports. I need to change the sender's name/email-id in a scheduled report. When we receive the report through email, receiving with the person's name who moved out of the
    team.
I tried to change but could not find the option to change while editing the properties in SCOM Console under Reporting -> Scheduled Reports.
When we are receiving mail from that scheduled report, instead of an individual name, would like to provide a generic name. Please help me out. Let me know, if you need more information.
    Thanks,
    Naren.
    Thanks & regards, Naren.

    Hello,
the SCOM scheduled reports feature rely on SQL Reporting Services. So, if you would like to change the SMTP configuration, you should go in SQL Reporting Services Configuration Manager:
Open in the Start Menu, Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
In the connection window, click OK.
Click on the tab E-mail settings.
    Change the Sender Address.
    Click Apply.
Alternatively, you could also change in the Scheduled report properties the field
Reply to. I think it should customize the reply address for each scheduled reports, but I have never used it. Anyway, doing it with Reporting Services Configuration Manager is more interesting in the long-run.

  • Need a way to Hide the Destinations (FTP, Email...) when scheduling reports

We do not have destinations set up for FTP, email and unmanaged disk in our environment due to our stringent security requirements.  Even after being told these are not available, our users continue to try to schedule the report to go to these destinations and they are causing the reports to fail and utilize database resources for a report that will not complete successfully.
Does anyone know if there is a way to hide the destinations from users when they schedule reports?  I know this was an option a couple of versions back but I cannot find it in BOE XI3.1 SP3.  The only option we want our users to see is Inbox and their personal folders.
    Our environment is:
    Windows Server 2003 SP2
    Tomcat 5.5.30
    Java 1.6
    BOE XI 3.1 SP3 FP3.2
    Thanks.

    Hi,
We can control distinations by configuring them on Respective Servers, which should be protected from business users.
Assuming that you wish to configure only email as destination for Crystal Reports,  then
Step 1 : Access properties of Server-> CrystalReportsJobServer
Step 2 : Choose only valid Desitnations that you wish to provide, In our case it is only eMail
Always go for cloning existing server if you are customization. Which is good practice than directly working on default server.

  • Schedule and Email Reports

Is there any way to schedule reports to run and have the output emailed? As far as I can tell this is not possible, but wondering if anyone has come up with any workarounds.
Maybe running a windows scheduler job to launch the Reports and Analysis for Excel template plugin and then email the report?
Is anyone in the know if this is scheduled for a future release?

    Hi Bob,
Any idea you can share on the release of this feature. As few of my customers are asking for such functionality.

  • How to configure a Office 365 email on SAP BI 4.1SP05 server to send scheduled reports by email ?

    Hi All,
I am trying to figure out how to configure office 365 server on BI platform so that I can send scheduled reports by Email.
    Below are the system details:
    SAP BI 4.1 SP05
    Microsoft Office 365 Email account
I referred to the SCN post for configuring gmail.
I could easily configure my gmail account.
I tried same logic with Office 365. Instead of using port 465 (for gmail) I used port 995 (for office 365).
    That didnt work.
I also tried using port 587 for TLS authentication but that doesnt work either.
SMTP Link for office 365:  smtp.office365.com
For simplicity purposes, I have opened all the ports on the firewall and server.
Please let me know if I have missed anything or if my whole approach is incorrect ?
I am open to suggestions and workarounds.
    Thanks,

    Hi there,
When the order is saved, the system will call the mail ID maintained in SU01 of the user.
It will then trigger the mail to the regular outlook mailbox.
Else in some cases a new Z table is defined to maintain the mail IDs. System will trigger the mail through outlook. It has that inbuilt capability.
Just ask your user to check his mail box to see if he has received the mail.

  • Changing an email address throughout the Enterprise on schedule reports

We will be changing our email address from fsc.edu to fitchburgstate.edu.
I have been told I need to manually change this address for all scheduled reports on the Enterprise.
Is there an easier way to do this instead of going into each report?
    Thanks!

    SDK = Solution Developer Kit
E.g.; you need a developer that knows .NET to create an application that will do the task.
To develop a BOE/CRServer XI R2 .NET application you need the Enterprise .NET SDK. You have to get this from the Enterprise installer.  Launch the BOE/CR Server XI R2 installer and choose Server Install - not Client Install.  Choose a Custom install.  You'll be presented with a drop down list for the Enterprise components.  Deselect everything and then look for the Developer Components option.  You may have to drill down into one of the levels to find it.  Under Developer Components you'll see the BusinessObjects Enterprise .NET SDK.  Select it to install to the development machine.  This will allow you to work with the Enterprise .NET SDK on your VS2005 machine.
You can install the .NET SDK using the Client Tools option, however it installs much more than you'll need (e.g. the publishing wizard, etc.).  The Client Tools option can also miss a couple of key DLLs and assemblies.  The best path to follow is the custom server install path outlined above.
When you're ready to deploy your .NET application you will also need to install the .NET SDK onto the Web application server as well. This is because we are not fully managed by the .NET Framework.

This will give you details about BusinessObjects Enterprise .NET SDK.

  • Can I schedule and email reports from ACS 5.1

I would like to receive a report daily on our TACACS activity on our network devices. I've looked thru the menus and searched some but have not found a clear way to generate such a report.
    any help is appreciated.

    Working with Scheduled Reports
In ACS 5.5, you can schedule reports for a future date in such a way that ACS automatically generates the report. This can be done using the scheduled reports feature available in the Monitoring and Reports web interface. This feature is available only for the for RADIUS authentication, RADIUS accounting, TACACS+ authentication, TACACS+ authorization, and TACACS+ accounting reports. ACS generates the scheduled reports based on the given time range, exports them to a .csv file, and stores them in the specified remote repository.
Previous releases of ACS allowed you to export reports and copy the .csv file to the local file system. You need to copy the exported file using the copy command to a remote location. But in ACS 5.5, you have the option to configure the remote repository to which the generated reports are exported and stored.
An email notification is sent whenever a scheduled report is generated successfully. The email notification contains the following information:
Scheduled Report Name—Name of the scheduled report.
Cause—The reason for which you have received this email or alarm notification. In this case, the notification is a scheduled report alarm.
Details—The details of the email notification.
Repository Name—Name of the remote repository where the generated reports are stored.
Repository URL—URL of the remote repository.
File Name—Name of the generated report. The format of the filename is <Name of the Scheduled Report>-<Report Type>. For instance, if the name of the scheduled report is “report1” and the report type is RADIUS_Accounting, then the filename is displayed as: report1-RADIUS_Accounting.csv
Generated on—The date and time at which the report is generated.
ACS does not generate any alarms or email notifications if a scheduled report generation fails. To know the status of the scheduled reports, go to the Monitoring Configuration > System Operations > Scheduler page and check for the status.

  • Quirks with Email Distribution of Scheduled Reports in BOE XI R2

We recently began scheduling reports (designed using Crystal Reports XI R2) on a BOE XI R2 server.  The Destinations are specified as email addresses.  We are distributing the reports only to internal email addresses, but we use the full internet address (e.g., john.doe ['at' symbol] mycorp.com).  We separate the addresses with semi-colons and without spaces.
We have found that the system-generated email sometimes lists only the first name in the 'To' or 'CC' list, even though there are multiple addressees.  For example, One of the scheduled jobs had 13 recipients in the 'To' list and 10 recipients in the 'CC' list.  The job ran successfully according to the History.  However, when recipients opened the email, both the 'To' and 'CC' showed only the first email address that was in each of those Destination address lists.  So, it was impossible to tell from the email who else had received it (and to feel confident that all of the recipients really had received it).
We had another job that had approximately 20 recipients.  That distribution failed with an error that said 'email address. Crystal Enterprise. Smtp: (501)', which led us to wonder if there is a limit on the number of recipients.
There are plenty of other instances where we have successfully run and distributed reports, but they've generally been instances with just one or two recipients.
I'd appreciate any tips from others who have had similar issues and figured out how to resolve them.  Thanks!

    Hi Nancy,
What would be interesting to know is whether all the people in the TO list actually DID receive the report instance. If indeed only the first email address received the publication, then you might want to check if the email address separator (, or is an issue.
Honestly, I can't say I have faced this issue, but just a guess and trying to help!

  • SSRS report email Scheduling omit zero record

Is that a way to omit zero record for SSRS report email scheduling?
That means if zero record happened it shouldn't trigger emailing.

    Hi SAMSUNG TECH,
Per my understanding that you don't want to send the scheduled email subscription if the report have no data, right?
I have tested on my local enviroment that you can modify the commend in the job step include some condition to send the email or not.
Detials information in below for you reference:
Open SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to connect to Database Engine ->expand SQL Server Agent->expand Jobs, double-click the Job.
you can use query below to find the Subscription you have just created and the “ScheduleID” in the table is equal to the Jobs Name.
    use ReportServer;
    SELECT USR.UserName AS SubscriptionOwner
    ,SCH.ScheduleID
    ,SCH.NextRunTime
    ,SCH.LastRunTime
    ,SCH.EndDate
    ,SCH.EventData
    ,SUB.EventType
    ,SUB.SubscriptionID
    ,SUB.ModifiedDate
    ,SUB.[Description]
    ,SUB.DeliveryExtension
    ,SCH.Name AS ScheduleName
    ,CAT.[Path] AS ReportPath
    ,CAT.[Description] AS ReportDescription
    FROM dbo.Subscriptions AS SUB
    INNER JOIN dbo.Users AS USR
    ON SUB.OwnerID = USR.UserID
    INNER JOIN dbo.[Catalog] AS CAT
    ON SUB.Report_OID = CAT.ItemID
    INNER JOIN dbo.ReportSchedule AS RS
    ON SUB.Report_OID = RS.ReportID
    AND SUB.SubscriptionID = RS.SubscriptionID
    INNER JOIN dbo.Schedule AS SCH
    ON RS.ScheduleID = SCH.ScheduleID
    ORDER BY USR.UserName
    ,CAT.[Path]
    2.  Select "Steps" on the left pane on the Job Properties window.
    3.  Click Edit button in the bottom of the window and then change the command
    Existing command is:
    EXEC [ReportServer].dbo.AddEvent @EventType='TimedSubscription', @EventData='9be28f07-3784-4070-802a-b7ca0aec4c7c'
Change the command as below: (Remember to check the Database Name and table name):
    If exists
    (Select top 1 * from [DBName].TableName )
    EXEC   [ReportServer].dbo.AddEvent @EventType='TimedSubscription',   @EventData='9be28f07-3784-4070-802a-b7ca0aec4c7c'
    BEGIN
    END
Note: Change the @EventType and @EventData to the values in your job,the value of this two fields can be found by execute the query in step1.

  • Automatic Email When Scheduled Report Fails?

Is there a way to configure XI to automatically send an email if a scheduled report fails to run successfully?

This is actually configured at the report level from the CMC and not via auditing. For each report that you want notification(s)to be set for, switch to the Schedule tab --> Notification in the CMC. Enable email notifications as required. ie. "A job has failed to run. "

  • Easiest way to email a scheduled report

I have a client that wants to create a scheduled report and have it do the following, Run the report and automatically extract it into Excel using custom templates and have it emailed to their customers.
Is this possible and what is the best way to do it?
    Thanks!
    Kris

    Hi Kris
Thanks for the question. I’m afraid this isn’t possible out of the box or with the automated scheduling that I outline in a paper on my website. Even though my paper was written in 2007 it is still valid today for anyone wishing to use third party scheduling and Discoverer.
To do what you ask is more difficult and I think you will have to look at interfacing Discoverer with BI Publisher. Either that or use the mechanism I outlined but then use a macro within another Excel workbook to go get the data out of the one you export. Come to think of it this latter method might just be the best way.
    Does this help?
    Best wishes
    Michael
