Hi Pushkar,
Are you planning for this certification ? If yes in that case you need to have the standard course material "TE2E04" provided by SAP.
Half of the question would be direct & remaining half would be on the understanding of the standards. Try to concentrate on Run SAP - Assement & scoping phase. The percentage distribution of questions from various chapters would be exactly as mentioned on the SAP website.
Cut-off is 57% and there would NOT be any hint for any objective questions as its provided by SAP for other certificaitons.
reply back to this post for if you need some more help.

Rohit

my doubt is what to give in the system name. i had given ECC500 and it is not taking. is there any specific charater to enter i this field? if it is there then where we are maintaining it?
in the product field i entered SAP R/3 Enterprise and Product Version SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x200 from F4 option.

  • SAP PM solution for already running environment .

    Hi ,
I am in the process of proposing the SAP PM solution to the client which  already running  SAP MM FICO and SD modules .
There will be no further redesigning of MM , FICO  to accommodate PM .
can you guys share your experience on this kind of scenario.

There won't be much difference in implementing SAP PM solution for the client who is running SAP currently when comparing to New Implementation of all modules.
Here, you can't have comfort of defining on all the dependent configurations as per your wish. You have to use the existing one.
You have to make use of existing Organizational Structure (Plant) to define Maintenance Plant & Planning Plant. You have to use existing G/L and OBYC settings to accommodate your Materials.
If no Valuation Class (G/L) has been defined for Spare Parts, then you may need to discuss with FICO Consultant / Finance Department on using existing Valuation class & Specific G/L in OBYC settings.
But that OBYC settings for Materials should cover Goods Issue as well as Goods Receipt postings from PM order for the desired valuation class.

  • Run SAP BPM with alternative portal applications ?

    Hi BPM experts,
Is it possible to run SAP BPM without SAP NW Portal and use an alternative portal application instead?
The general idea here is to use alternative SAP-independent frontend technology and use SAP BPM for process control "only".
    Best regards,
    Peter

    Benjamin,
thanks for your reply. Does this mean that there's defnitely no other way and one MUST use SAP NW Portal in order to run a SAP BPM application (at least with the current release)?
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • Run SAP PI Interfaces 24X7. How

How I can run PI Interfaces 24X7 to achieve Business Continuity.
    The solution provided as u2013
Install Separate additional PI System u2013 called as Federation PI.
    Is this solution really applicable?
    Details:
    1.     Our Current Production Landscape holds only One PI System
    2.     These interfaces hold Critical, Sensitive Finance, employee Data posting to ECC etc.
    3.     HA options are available and Planned Outages are communicated with Non-SAP Process teams.
    4.     No performance issues.
    5.     PI Scaling is in progress to balance load on PI System.
Requirement: We seek PI Production System up and running 24X7 for all above interfaces with out any interruption.
Below Issues: Makes our PI Production System Shut-down for certain period
    1.     Planned outages
    2.     Un-planned outages
    3.     Upgrades
    4.     Allowed Down-time
    5.     SPOF
    Solution: Federation of SAP PI
    1.     A very good solution u2013 so that we can switch to another PI System when first PI system is down for any reason.
    2.     We need to maintain IR, ID objects of interfaces that we planned for 24X7 in both PI Systems.
    3.     Communication Channels are active in only One PI system.
    4.     Manual activation of Communication Channels is required when we plan to switch Second PI Server.
    That Implies
    5.     There is minimum amount of downtime is present.
    6.     So, 24X7 of runtime is not achievable.
    My Only one Question:
Is there any automated procedure for this runtime procedure..!!?
Switching in between PI Systems might be possible.
But, how we can implement activation of CC in Second PI System with out manual interaction?

    Hi,
Currently we are about to start the POC for my client, and the scenarion is like this
We have a ECC system( which will send the IDOC ) and it will be received by my central PI system.( which is is in UK).
The client is present in multiple locations( UK,AUS,US), they want to install the additional PI boxes in AUS and US and they want to have a federation with central PI system which present in UK.
    we have two scenarios.
    1) The IDOC will trigger from ECC and then it will go to central PI system and then it has to go to local PI system and then to the third party system.
    2) The IDOC will trigger from ECC system and then it has to go to the local PI and then to the central PI box and then to the third party system.
Can you please let me know how can achieve these two scenarios and how to install local PI boxes in federation with the central PI box.
    Regards,
    Pradeep J

  • Running SAP on Microsoft Virtual Servers

Is anyone running SAP on Microsoft Virtual Servers?  If so, what has been your experience with this?  We are installing NetWeaver 2004s on three virtual servers (running on the same Physical Windows server). We are using the Microsoft Virtual Server software (not VM Ware).
Thanks in advance for any information.

Check Note 674851 - Virtualization on Windows:
VMware, GSX Server, VMware workstation, Microsoft Virtual Server
Due to their restriction to 32-bit, single CPU and host/guest operation, these virtualization products are not suitable for productive SAP applications.
It may be advisable to use one of these products to operate non-production systems (demo systems, test systems, development systems and so on).
I would not use Microsoft Virtual Server for productive installations, additionally, depending on the database used, it may or may not supported by the database vendor and thus also may or may not supported by SAP.
In worst case you will need to reinstall the application on a non-virtualized environment and reproduce a problem there before SAP support will accept the problem.

  • End-to-End Solution Operations Support Trainings ??

I've been tasked with finding out more about SAP's new "End-to-End Solution Operations Support Trainings" classes
    (<a href="https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/sapidp/011000358700000045412007E">https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/sapidp/011000358700000045412007E</a>).
I've found info on the classroom-based classes @ SAP Education. However, there is no info about the e-learning classes (E2E050, C_E2E100_07, C_E2E200_07, C_E2E300_07, C_E2E400_07).
Does anyone know information on these classes, such as cost, availability, etc?
    Thank you for any wisdoms,

Question 1 - is there a way to set up iTunes to launch (in Windows) with a command line switch or something so that I can create a shortcut for each child so they don't have to remember "oh, yeah, shift-double-click iTunes, select my library" or have me there to do it for them every time??
No. The most practical way to allow children to each have their own, fully separate iTunes Store account is to set them each up their own user account in Windows. Then when they log in they'll have access only to their own iTunes library and iTunes Store account.
Second, is there a way to keep gift card balances separate in the iTunes account, so that each child can redeem their gift card and use what they want without using the other's balance?
You will need to open and maintain separate iTunes Store accounts, which if you're attempting to use a single iTunes library will require logging out of the iTunes Store and back in for each child.
Third, and maybe this depends on the answer to (2), is there a way to set up separate wish lists in a single iTunes account?
Not in a single iTunes Store account, no.

  • Running SAP XI in High Availability

    Bonjour a vous tous !
I am looking for best practices when running SAP Exchange Infrastructure (3.0, well it is now XI 7.0 with the new NW2004s – SP9) in High Availability mode.
The customer that I work with does not know yet on which platform its production environment will be (Unix/Oracle vs Microsoft/SqlServer 20005). I know that some hardware vendor has built-in HA capabilities, either Software/Hardware based (MSFT MCS, IBM HACMP, etc).
Should we go for an "SAP XI all-In One" installation or distributed one ?  Should we get one central SLD or one per environment? What is the role of the SLD and Solution Manager? Do they need to be interconnected?
I have worked with other EAI middlewares (Biztralk Server and webMethods) and normally the Integration Engine sit on it's own server and the various adapters are on their respective servers (i.e.: one server for HTTP, one server for FTP, one server for EJB, etc), since the sizing (RAM. Java heap memory, etc) for all theses adapters are different (FTP a lot of small file, EJB not so many request, but they could eat-up a lot of CPU, etc). Is this a best practice that I can apply also with SAP XI ?
Thank in advance for you help !
    A+

    Hi Michel,
Well we seem to work along the same track...
I am working on 2 customers concurrently - the one using like you using PI 7.0. In their case we implemented a Windows solution using W2K3 Enterprise Edition 64-bit. Avoid 32-bit as it will no longer be supported by SAP next year. We are using MSCS (which is part of the Enterprise Edition by default).
The 2nd is a solaris customer (very large) for which we are using a cross-data center solution handled by Veritas Cluster Manager with automatic failover between systems and data centers if required.
    Some answers to your questions:
    1. All-in-one - yes
    2. SLD - one for DEV/QA, and separate for Prod - this is recomended by SAP too - I can mail you a guide if needed
    3. With Solution Manager 4.0, it now supports the J2EE side and hence can understand SLDs. The concept is to setup an HA Solution Manager and deploy the SLD for Prod on the same piece of kit.
    4. SAP do not recomend splitting off the Adapter Engine except for specific cases, the main reason being if you have specific systems behind firewalls that you need to communicate with.
Under no circumstances should you have separate AE's per adapter - this would be an extermely expensive solution hardware and support-wise.

  • SRM for customer with some SAP compenies and some non SAP companies

    Hello Experts,
I am working on a tender to a customer. This customer wants to have SRM in 5 countries (own company codes).
This customer have SAP in 3 of these companies and some other accountings system in the two others.
Is it possible to set this up in one SRM client where you have 5 orgnanisational nodes under the the top node and each of these nodes are one company code?
And then you assing one backend system to each of these nodes. Classic Scenario for the nodes representing the companies that run SAP and Standalone for the others.
Plan is to set up MDM where all companies can shop from
Are there any pitfalls in a solution like this?
    rgds
    GAR

    Hi,
You need to define 5 organization nodes with SYS and ACS attributes.
Multi backend system configuration is supported in standard. It should not be a problem.

  • "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

I cannot use HP Solution Center because I only get this message when I start it: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete". I am running Windows XP with an HP PhotoSmart Premium. I can print just fine and the printer is recognized by the PC and the network. I get the same problem whether connected wirelessly or through USB. I have re-installed all software multiple times. Please advise on how to get Solution Center up and running.

I had to do a total uninstall and reinstall of the driver. However, as you will see from this and other Support Forum threads there seem to be multiple stumbling blocks to the uninstall/reinstall process. Seems very glitchy. After nearly two days of unsuccessful tries I finally got it done. I did find three different official HP scenarios for the process, including one automatically sent to my desktop by HP upon one of the earlier failures. That sequence did not work work for me, but it was close--I got a partial install. But on another HP help file titled "Product Software Installation stalls or stops in Windows 7 with a USB connected product HP..." I found a six step process (with details for each), and it worked for me on the second try. Here are the six steps, plus extra things I did or discovered that could have helped make it work. I did step 5b. first: downloading and saving  the HP driver file on my computer before starting other steps, since I elected not be be on the internet as I did the installation. 1. Uninstall the HP printer software. See my note below about four ways HP lists do to this. I used two of them.2. Turn off the 'terminate and stay resident programs (has to do with system configuration). See HP details.3. Clear temporary files and folders through Windows accessories.4. Disable firewalls (see my note below about this)5a. Disconned the cable from BOTH the printer itself and from the computer, BUT TURN ON the printer.5b. Get the lastest version driver for you printer from the HP site and save it where you can find it. (I did this first, before other steps, so I could install off-line)5c. Install the driver software that you saved. (see my note below about an optional step that helped me with this, so the install will complete, and not hang up)6. Enable the start up software that was turned off with step 2. (See HP details) Notes: there are versions of HP instructions that  skip steps 2 and 6 and or 3 and 4, but that would not work in my case. I describe the steps that finally worked in case they can help someone else--this has been so frustrating. This uninstall/install process seems to be very touchy and perhaps changes depending on your printer or other configuration of your computer: Note about step 1: I found an HP document that listed four ways to uninstall. On my final and successful attempt I actually used two of the techniques. First I used the HP uninstaller program from the start menu program list on my computer stored with other HP stuff there. When I rebooted it did not appear that any HP programs were removed, but who knows, perhaps this got rid of some hidden file somewhere that had been causing all of the problems. Then I used the regular uninstall process from the control panel, and that worked. All HP programs were gone upon reboot. Note about step 3: I counld not believe this would help, but did it, and again, who knows, perhaps this is critical. Note about step 4: I assumed that step two 'terminate and stay resident programs' turned off my McAfee firewall and antivirus, so I did not turn it off. And I elected to be off the internet during install because I am always fearful about turning off those programs. However, and this may be the source of problems for many people, the HP list was very specific to turn off the Windows 7 firewall. I checked it and it was running, even though I thought McAfee was in charge. So I did turn off the Windows 7 firewall. Subsequently I learned that many people who have upgraded from earlier Windows operating systems to Windows 7 have the Windows firewall operating along with their other firewall, without knowing it. Apparently this does not happen if you did a clean install of Windows 7 rather than an upgrade install. Note about step 5c: On many of my tries the installation program would not terminate or complete, and I would get a partial install that allow some functions of the printer to work, but not Solutions Center. The only way I found to prevent this was at the step near the end, where you hook up the printer, select the box that says it's okay to connect it later. The installer program dumps an icon on you desktop that allows you to connect the printer after the installation shows complete and terminates by itself. By clicking the icon and plugging the cable into computer and the powered-on-printer when directed, the device installs perfectly. That was the only way I could get a full install, or get the installation to terminate. During the two days of trying to make this work I also reinstalled the latest version of Flash player since I read that HP Solutions Center needs it to show screens on your computer about printer functions. Of course downloading Flash onto a 64-bit version of Windows 7 is a little tricky too, but not that difficult. I do not know whether that was important, but it is one more thing to try if you can't make your Solutions Center part of the printer program work. I learned way more about the unintall/install process than I ever wanted to know. Sorry to be so wordy, but after two days of frustrating work on this I thought I should share this, in case any of these ideas could help someone else who is hung up on this. Perhaps there is an easier fix somewhere. The six-step process was on an HP help site and was not even for my specific printer, but the similar list from my model did not work. Wish I knew what the secret to success might have been.

  • Formating and operating with integer values

I am new to XML Publisher.
I have a task to make a layout using rtf. The problem is that I must do an arithmetical operation using data generated from a system report. I must not modify the report!!!
The value retrieved from report is of X.Y format which means a time period (X - years, Y - months). So I want to split this value in two - one for years and other for months with a posibility of making arithmetical operations over them. Is it possible?? And if so, cand anybody give me a solution for this...?

ok, back to the problem. As I red in the XML Publihser Users Guide there is a posibility to transform strings in numbers, but I can't figure out how it works! As speaking of my problem I can not do arithmetical operations with that value (YEARS.MONTHS). I tried the to_number function described in XML Publisher User's Guide (page 7-3) over the vlaue x.y, I tried to change the point (x.y) to a comma (x,y) and again aply to_number function over resulted value, but it doesn't work. What do I do wrong?
I tried the solution of spliting the x from y, but I run into a problem again. The years part x has a variable length so I can't get the y part. (the substr function didn't worked with negative start position - substr(DATE, -3, 3))
Generaly I'm a very confused about XML Publisher. There are examples in User's Guide which didn't work for me...
If anybody has some links with documentation about XML Publisher, other than those from ORACLE, please share them with me.
    10x!

  • Run SAP transaction from Java?

I'm looking for answers for two questions:
    1) Can I run an SAP transaction from Java & capture the result either in a file or table.. or any such structure?
    2) Can I run an ABAP report directly from Java? and then capture the result as well? I realise that I can use the JCO to run any RFC enabled function module..? But what about a report itself.? Can I run the report behind an SAP transaction directly from Java?
I need this information urgently, and would appreciate any help on this.

    Hi Deepika,
I think the requirement you have asked is quite complex and there is no solution as far as i have know.
You can use BAPI to run SAP Transactions for example BAPI_MATERIAL_DISPLAY will take you to MM03 transaction when you pass a valid material number to it.
When i searched for the same i ended up with no solution,
but got a good link which gave some idea

  • Do we run SAP console?

    Hi all,
We run RFID devices in our ERP, so we set the users with screens to be able to be seen on the devices. Question is, does that mean we run SAP Console? How can i be sure we do? I'm just not sure as i'm new to these type of configurations.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
SAP provide the standard solution for RF device, the system landscape for RF terminals:
Different connection types of RF terminals
          - Graphical terminals that use the SAP GUI
          - Character-based terminals that use Telnet and the SAPConsole
          - Character-based terminals that use proprietary protocol (supported by hardware vendors) and the SAPConsole
Screens and flow logic are developed entirely in the development environment of SAP
You can replace each screen with your own specific screen without having to change the processing logic (dynpro exit)
New device types are implemented easily
Recovery is possible if the connection is lost and you set up the connection again.
    Merry Xmas

  • Is there any third party component required to run SAP Mobile ?

    Hi Gurus,
What 3rd party mobile components are required to run SAP mobile (E.g DB2e)? Do any of them require separate licensing thatu2019s not covered by the SAP licence?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dharani

    Hi Larissa Limaravo,
Thank you so much for you detailed answer.
Can you please let me know your view on this please.
Q4 What do we get in terms of remote management (i.e. any of the security points above plus deployment of software and remote support)? Is there any benefit in moving to 7.1 from 7?
Thinking of the supplied XAPPS that are available with SAP mobile, how configurable are they in terms of:
    Q5
u2022     Adding new fields (both for info in the field and for engineers to return additional data).
    u2022     Changes to validation.
u2022     Changes to workflow within the application.
    u2022     Anything else!
Q5.1  Is there an IDE or tool available for implementing configuration changes?
Q5.2  What weu2019re after here is a feel for the overall influence on functionality, expressed as a percentage (e.g. 0 no influence to 100% complete control), which can be achieved with configuration?
Q5.3  Typically, who is responsible for making configuration changes, would it be possible to do this in-house or would we require experienced consultants? If this is a split between the 2 could we get a feel based on the most commonly requested changes?
Q5.4  With regard to customizing supplied XAPPs or writing our own, would we be talking Java development through webdyn pro? How would customisation impact patching and upgrades of the SAP infrastructure?
Q6  Our assumption is that SAP mobile solutions are only suitable for SAP backend systems owing to the tight integration. In your experience, has anyone successfully implemented a SAP mobile solution on a non SAP backend system? Would you, as experienced SAP consultants, recommend such a venture?
Q6.1  How would we go about integration of other systems on the mobile device? For example GPS, Barcode, Cameras or other applications like boiler diagnostics. Again, can you break this down into tasks that can be performed in house vs. tasks that are typically performed by experienced consultants?
Q6.2  This is a bit of a vague question so I must apologies in advance: Company will ultimately control our production environment but weu2019d be interested in having some control to be able to deploy configuration changes without having to bother them. If you could suggest if and how this arrangement would be implemented, then I can approach company to assess the feasibility.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dharani
