E70 firmware version update

I have an E70 running the latest firware release (as far as I can tell):
2.0618.07.10
31-08-06
RM-10
Nokia E70
Product Code: 0538292
I've had this phone for about two months now and I have to say that it is hardly an improvement on my old 6822.
It seems to suffer with the most obvious & glaring bugs. To name a few these would be:
i) Profiles: Unable to set individual ring & message tones from the gallery (phone or card memory).
ii) Calendar app: does not provide for copying occurrences to other dates/times.
iii) Calendar app: does not allow moving of meetings using a UI.
iv) Calendar app: changing the date on x1 instance of a repeatable occurrence is not handled correctly - can only edit the whole set.
v) Calendar app: To-Do notes without a due by date are set to 01/01/2007 (which is daft).
vi) Word processor app: does not handle new/end-of-line characters properly from either UNIX or Windows text documents; leads to funny errors when editing a document pushed to the phone.
I could go on. But it strikes me as odd that something that worked so well on the 6820/6822 models is so fundamentally dysfunctional on the 'better' model.
Does anyone out there know where an update that fixes some of these problems can be found? If not, then can someone from Nokia development offer anything?
I'd be very grateful to hear something as this is becoming a complete pain to use now.

My Lumia 925 firmware version is 3047.0000.1325.2001 which I think, is very old. I bought this phone in India (in august).
I am using this phone in Malaysia, tried updating it but not able to. Took my phone to Nokia Care,as per them phone may be locked out if I do phone update in malaysia, also my warranty will be void.
Please suggest me options I have. Do I have to come back to India to do update.
I wanted to use 4G but beca of firmware version i cant
    Help will be much appreciated.
    Amrit.

why do you think it's too old? it has been released only a few months ago... the xxx.2001 is not the year, it's a part of the version number, that's all.

  • Home Hub 3 - Firmware Version & updating

Hi all - brand new on here. Apologies if this has been covered already (have had a look and couldn't find an answer).
I have just been provided a HH3 as a replacement for a HH2. I noticed the issue re the time being an hour behind etc and then noticed there may have been a fix via a firmware update.  My HH3 has Version 4.7.5.1.83.8.57.1.3 (Type A). According to the BT website it looks as though I should have 4.7.5.1.83.8.94.1.11 (Type A).
I appreciate the unit updates automatically - I was wondering whether this should have happened straight away (unit has now been connected for a day or so) or whether it will happen over a period of time?
    Any thoughts / ideas??
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

it will normally happen overnight there is no time scale for the update to occur

  • How do I find my firmware version G5 dual 1.8

Where can I find the firmware my computer is running?
    Thanks

Boot with an Apple wired keyboard command-option-o-f to get the boot ROM version.
    http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/g5/powermac_g5_docs_updates.html says:
G5 Boot Rom (Firmware) Versions: (Update - as of April 2004 G5s are shipping with boot rom v5.15. In late 2003 Apple released G5 firmware 5.1.4 update for 2003 models and in Nov 2004 released a 5.1.8f7 update for June 2004 models. The comments below were from early owners before that release.) After the report about early G5 shipments reportedly having problems with mixing 3rd party RAM with the OEM RAM (Hynix brand reportedly) I wondered if the boot rom version had changed since the first shipments. The S/N XB337xxxxx Dual G5 here (shipped 9/15) has rom version 5.0.2f2 (as reported by Apple System Profiler). Several readers sent their G5 boot rom versions:
" Dual 2 Ghz BTO in UK
    CK338xxS-NVB
    (boot rom version) 5.0.5f0
    Tan "
Another Dual G5 owner (very recent shipment) wrote he has an even later boot rom version:
" Mike, I got my G5 Dual 1 week ago, Just looked at the Boot rom version and it is newer than others mentiond in todays news."
    Machine model
    PowerMac7,2 (version = 2.2)
    Boot Rom: 5.0.7f0
And another report of 5.0.7f0 firmware:
" Mike, we have three CTO machines, built 9/19 (1) and 9/22 (2) boot Rom on all three - 5.0.7f0
    -- Fred C.
    General Manager
TheTroupe Modern Media Design & Production "
A reader with 5.0.7f0 firmware noted he still had problems using CL2 dimms (even without any CL3 OEM dimms installed based on his previous comments) - so there's still a requirement for DIMMs to have CL3 timing in the SPD. One reader later wrote he had an even earlier boot rom version than mine - 5.0.1f0.
Maybe Apple is waiting to accumulate fixes/changes before releasing a public update - but I'm hoping they will soon release a firmware update for the G5s which might solve some of the quirks that some owners have seen.

  • How do you upload firmware to Airport extreme with the following message: This version of AirPort Utility requires this AirPort Extreme use firmware version 7.3.1 or later. Use AirPort Utility 5.6 to update this base station. I'm using airport utility 6.0

The airport extreme at my parent's house has not had its firmware update in some time and it keeps dropping the internet connection and needing to be reset.
I went to update firmware and opened up airport utilities (I'm running airport 6.0 on Mountain Lion, 10.7.4).  Everytime I open the airport utility I get the following message: "
This version of AirPort Utility requires this AirPort Extreme use firmware version 7.3.1 or later. Use AirPort Utility 5.6 to update this base station. AirPort Utility 5.6 is available at AirPort Service and Support.
I've followed the link and tried to update firmwares but none are available and the print says that airport utility will look to see if firmware are available and load them as necessary when prompted by user.
One link said the only way to solve this problem is open up Airport Utility 5.6. I tried to do this, but 5.6 is not supported on Mountain Lion and couldn't be opened up.
I'm getting the exact same message on my other computer, a Mac Air.
So basically, can't download new firmware and am stuck with a ****** airport extreme that needs to keep being reset, a factory reset, in order to use the internet, but then continues to give me the same message.
    Thanks!

See this article for instructions on how to install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Lion on Mountain Lion:

  • Will firmware version 4.1.7 automatically update to 4.1.9?

I recently upgraded to OS 10.3 from OS 10.0 on my Imac 700MHz G3. The installation documentation said that I would be prompted to upgrade the firmware if I needed to. I was not prompted so I went ahead and did the OS 10.3 installation. The firmware remained version 4.1.7f4 after the install.
Not too long ago I went through the same procedure on my Imac 400MHz DV. The only difference is that I started the upgraded process from OS 9.I, then to 9.2.2 using the updates (ending at the latest version of 9), then to 10.0, and then to 10.3. And finally updating with 10.3.9 combo to OS 10.3.9. During that whole process I never new about firmware and never checked to see what version I had before starting this process. After all of the above installations were finished I ended up with firmware version 4.1.9f1.
My concern is with the 700MHz G3 IMac. I'd like to update to 10.3.9 using the combo update but I'm concerned about the firmware. Will firmware 4.1.7f4 be updated automatically to 4.1.9f1 after the combo OS 10.3.9 is installed? Or should I erase the disk again and start over by first installing firmware update 4.1.9? Actually if that were the case I wouldn't be able to update my firmware since I don't have the correct bootable version of OS 9 on disk that is required for that computer. However my previous experience with the installations on the 400MHz DV suggests to me that that the firmware will automatically be updated. But I would like confirmation from the experts. I'd hate to spend all that time downloading and installing all of the latest updates (Combo 10.3.9, etc.) only to find that the firmware version is incorrect.
    Thanks!
    Al

    Al,
I don't understand your anger. In your first message
you posted that you installed OS 9 and updated it to
9.2.2. So why don't you do that again on the 700 MHz
    iMac?
I find it very amusing that somehow you see anger in my post. That is realy very funny! The reason I didn't just simply install OS 9 on the 700MHz Imac is stated in my original post. I would need a special (the original disk that came with this computer) bootable OS 9.1 disk to install 9.1 on this particular computer. However if there are retail 9.2 or greater disks available then that would work to. I own a retail version of 9.1 that I used for the 400MHz Imac. That wont work on the 700MHz Imac. So now I have to buy a another OS 9 disk. Thanks for your input. Al

  • How to downgrade my firmware version after a "succesful" update?

    Dear Macusers,
Is there any way to downgrade my firmware version from 1.5.1 to a lower version? Even if my firmware update has been applied succesfully? I cannot use just the firmware restore CD because that is for an interupted or failed update.
    Greetings,
    Tim

    Hello,
Many thanks for your reply. Yesterday I posted a topic about this problem with some more details. I hope this may help.
+"Since today my trackpad and keyboard doesn't response anymore. This problem started after I exit from sleep mode. Then I get a security form where I can enter my password, but I couldn't. So I restarted my macbook pro for about 5 times, removed my adapter and battery, but it doesn't work.+
+After that I went to iFactory and they said it is apparently because of my latest firmware update 1.5.1. But why does this happen a week after I installed this update? Anyway, he suggested me to downgrade my firmware version with a firmware restore CD. Well it sounded as an straightforward and easy solution until I read that the restoration CD doesn't work when the firmware update already has been applied correctly.+
+I have read some other topics about keyboard issues and some points are relevant for me:+
+I'm be able to use an external USB mouse and keyboard.+
+At system profile by USB, only my iSight, Bleutooth USB host controller and external USB devices are displayed.+
+The keyboard background light works properly+
+This problem happens all of a sudden without intervals or strange behavior.+
+Using Leopard (10.5.2) and Windows XP via bootcamp+
+I hope I can solve this problem really quick because I need my Macbook Pro badly for my study. Thanks in advance for studying my problem.+
    Greetings,
    Tim

  • Can't update to the latest (v52) firmware version ...

Other people can update their software but I cannot, although we have the same Nokia device model. What's wrong?
Update availability is based on many things, including existing Nokia device firmware version, country, and operator. It may be due to one of these variables that your Nokia device isn't eligible for updates.
Please note that your mobile service provider, operator, or carrier may not have approved the latest Nokia device firmware available.
Nokia produces many different variants of each product (for different countries and languages) and not all variants have the latest Nokia device firmware. It is our priority to update all variants as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any delay. New software may become available at a later date, however, so please check again soon.
Is there any other way that I apply the new v52 update for my 5800 XM? Even if it voids warranty? Because I really hate my browser and music crashing, battery eating - from full to empty in ~1.5hour, meanwhile the phone is really hot and it is in stand-by - no programs running.
    Info:
I am from Slovenia, my phone model is RM-356, current version V51.0.006 - installed on 19.11.2010. Language Slovene, 7. Serial - under the battery 0579282. Tryed updating via Wi-Fi on the phone, via PC - with "Nokia Software Updater", both said there is no new firmware available, while there is obviously.
    Any help appreciated!!

I understand that this is a real bummer and painfull.
There is unfortunately nothin we can do to help you to get the most recent update if it ain't made available for your device.
From the power consumption, there could be an issue related to hardware which only a care point can fix.
However, you could back up what you need and perform a soft reset to wipe the phone memory, then install your apps one by one to check if there is an app or more causing this. You can also try to reinstall the fw with Ovi suite. Just connect and check if it's possible to do so, then back up your content and proceed.
I cannot guarantee that this will fix it, but it might be worth a try if youre without warranty.
Have you checked if there are a warranty checker tool available on your local Nokia site?
The Nokia browsers has always been a bit sensitive, so I suggest you download opera mobile or opera mini and install it on your phone memory (C: ) Should be much more stable.

  • After WRT310N Firmware Version 2 update - Unidentified Network

    Hi
I've owned the WRT310N for over 2 years now. I've been happy with it's features thus far. I updated the firmware previously to 1.0.9.
Recently, I upgraded my OS to Windows 7 from Vista. It's great and connects to my other hardwired network device (i.e. printer) and internet without any issues. I chanced upon a review that said the WRT310N Firmware Version 2 (WRT310Nv2_0_00_012.bin) was out and eagerly upgraded it in the router. Herein came the problem after the automatic reboot. My internet connection was unidentified with gibberish for an IP address. Strangely, my printer still connects and prints. But I can no longer access the set up page typically found in 192.168.1.1. There are no issues with my modem.
I tried many things with the assistance of the Linksys hotline in the Philippines (ref case:100408-000629). Simple 5 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 min resets, press and hold, unplug power, replug in power - Result = 0.
I tried to force ipconfig to dump the ip address, it could not release it or renew it. I tried to lower the duplex speed to 10MBPS, doesn't work. I thought the problem was the gibberish was on IPv6, by deselecting it, IPv4 wasn't able to correct itself.
Long story short, it was a fatal mistake to install Firmware Version 2 as after the reboot, I couldn't access the internet or the set up page that was necessary to reset the factory defaults. Without entering the router set up page, I can't help myself.
The kind Linksys lady told me I'm out of warranty and there's pretty much nothing I can do except by the brand new WRT610n with XXXXX features. I don't think I would as I'm very concerned about upgrading future firmwares in the light of this experience. So I'm putting this case up for your review. Hopefully, I'm the only "unique" case. =(
    E

Push and hold untill lights go off usually I hold for 30 seconds. You should also turn off and unplug your modem while you do this. After doing that you should reboot your computer and then see if you can access the router, if you can but still dont have internet then you might have to release/renew the DHCP untill you get an IP. Can find that on the status tab.

  • Battery Update 1.4 does not update my battery with firmware version: 102a

    Hello,
I was happy to see this update come out recently as my battery does lose power when the computer is powered down but I wanted to fully research it first because there's no going back with these firmware updates.
From Apple's page about this 1.4 update:
Batteries with this information in the Battery Information section [of Apple System Profiler] need this update:
A device name "ASMB016" or "ASMB013" in the serial number
A Pack Lot Code is 0002
A battery firmware version of 0110
Everything on my system matches except my battery firmware is version: 102a
Figuring that 102a was a lower firmware version than 0110 I went ahead and installed the update but I don't think my battery has been updated. I got no notice that it was being updated as others, on other forums, have described seeing and nothing in Apple System Profiler has changed.
A quick Google search showed that plenty of other people are asking on the web about this version 102a firmware as well.
So, any idea what the deal is with batteries that have the firmware version 102a? I got this current battery under the recall program as the original one that came with my MacBook was one of the bad ones.
This whole MacBook battery business has been a nightmare. It's wasted hours of my time, and is a real black eye on what is otherwise a good computer experience.
Thanks in advance for any input.

I started thinking about it, and 102a is actually a larger number than 0110.
In any case, the updater was only meant for specific battery revisions.
