E7505 Master 2-F Upgrade question

Question

I found a couple of Xeon 3.06 533 Prestonias for pretty cheap along with a pair of 1MG PC2100 ECC sticks. Mostly running database programs and file serving, no mail or web hostng. Will I see a significant difference in upgrading from the single 2.4 Xeon to the pair and memory I mention? If this memory pair works together with what I already have, I'll then have 3 MG of mem.

Even so, you can use 2 15000RPM drive's, if yours are 7200RPM, the difference will be incredible.
I don't know what your drives are at the moment, but it might do a lot if your drives are a it old.
Current 15000RPM drives do about 100MB/sec, where older drives do something like 40~60MB/sec.
Also those modern ones have access times of about 3ms...might be worth to consider it.
Even on an old mobo with just a PCI slot, mirroring 2 of those would be worth it.
Else I see no way to improve things, as your current CPU's allready max out the board, and so does your GBnic, the only improvements that will be worth it on this board are memory and faster drives, everything else will be a waiste of money.
Or, but this might scare you, is replace the board with the K8D-Master3 (with SCSI) and a couple of Opteron 270's on it, could be cheaper, but for sure a whole lot faster.
I hear you thinking, what about Core-Duo?, sorry that's desktop material and not sueted for heavy-duty servers.
