EA1 - Right gutter scroll bar in the Code Editor doesn't work?

SQL Developer version 4.0.0.12, Windows XP
I'm opening package body in Code Editor. In previous version of SQL Dev after pressing CTRL and moving mouse over the right gutter I could see a few lines of the code from mouse pointed position in the source.
Now it doesn't work.

It is true the right gutter's general scrolling window view capability no longer exists in 4.0. However, if code errors exist, then small blue squares (uncompiled code) or slightly larger red rectangles (compiled code) appear in the gutter representing the relative positions of the bad code. Hovering the mouse over those produces a pop-up display of the offending code and, in fact, the pop-up will not display if the Ctrl key is pressed at the same time. Of course, clicking on the rectangles or squares moves the editor's current line to that code as in earlier releases.
So it is not clear whether this is merely the new, intended behavior, or if more of the prior behavior remains to be implemented in 4.0. As far as I can tell, nothing important has been lost here, but that is just my opinion.

Why my scroll bar of a data block doesn't work?

Hi,
I have a data block that displays a maximum of 9 records at one time. When the query returns more than 9 records i want to use a vertical scroll bar to navigate to the last records.
In some forms it works fine but in others not , i still didn't find why ??

Rather than trying to find a needle in a hay stack, I would recommend taking a step backward. This will help to rule out whether the issue is something you caused or if there is an issue with the environment or product.
Create a new module in the Builder. Do not add any of your own code.
In the Builder, connect to a database (File > Connect).
From the Builder menu, select Tools > Data Block Wizard
In the Wizard first screen (after Welcome), select Table or View then click Next
On the next screen, click on Browse to display the tables available to you. Choose one.
All the columns in that table should appear on the left. Click on the double arrow (>>) to select all of them. Then click on Next
Click on Next again
Choose the option to create the data block then open the Layout Wizard. Then click Finish
In the Layout Wizard, click on Next (after the Welcome scree) to choose the default Canvas. Then click on Next
Click on the double arrow (>>) to choose all columns. Then click Next
Click Next again.
Choose Tabular as the layout style. Click on Next
Change Records Displayed to 4 and check the box labeled "Display scroll bar".
Click on Finish
Again, do not make any changes to anything in this form. Run it. Does it reproduce the same problem you experience in your previous form? If this form works correctly, likely the issue is in the design of your other form. If this test form fails in the same manner then you are either exposing a defect or there is an odd configuration issue.

30Prod - Ctrl+Click in code editor doesn't work for synonyms

When editing packages, clicking on the Ctrl key and hovering the mouse on another package name makes the object clickable and a click opens the package.
For example, if you have
htp.p('Hello');keep the Ctrl key pressed, hover the mouse on htp and click will open the htp package.
This works of course also for packages in the current schema, but only if I have the real object name in my code: if I use a synonym, hovering does work but clicking does nothing.
Is this intended?

How can I get a scroll bar at the bottom of the page so I can see the right side of the page when I am using two windows?

With two or three pages open, I have scroll bars that allow me to see the right side of the other pages, but not on the Firefox page.

Thank you for the reply, Fred, but when I went to my saved screenshot, I realized that the shortcut on my desktop had opened in IE, not Firefox. There is no scroll bar and the directional arrows do not work. My daughter has been playing with my laptop again. When I set up the same conditions with Firefox, there is no scroll bar, but the arrows function properly, so I can read to the right edge of the page. Now to find someone who knows IE11. I hit a link to a pop OUT window, the window came up, it had no right hand scroll bar, it clearly had more information on the page and I can't get to it.

Is a pop-out window different than a pop-up window?
Can the window be resized to view more content?
Websites can open new windows with scrollbars removed. I can think of two ways:
(1) Code the script so the window opens without scrollbars
(2) Style the contents so that any overflow is simply hidden

If you can't solve the problem by reducing the zoom (Ctrl- or holding Ctrl and turning the scroll wheel downwards) or resizing the window, it may be difficult to solve.

On every website, my right vertical scroll bar is missing and all of my Toolbar bookmarks unless I minimize the window, click "view" and "full page." How do i get it back to NORMAL?

When I hit "full page" the right vertical scroll bar re-appears, but my bookmark toolbars, my bing bar, and pretty much the entire top 2 inches of my screen disappears. After my last update with Firefox, my right-hand scroll bar no longer has up and down arrows. I really need to get them back. I'm using a Mac laptop.

So the whole button is missing. I have no idea how to fix the default theme, since it is inside omni.ja, which is not accessible from just any archive handler, and I have not found any way to open it. My problems were with third party themes, and I managed to fix those by editing parts of the themes.
Maybe you could set up scrollbars yourself by using a userChrome.css file plus images. You could get some tips by opening third party themes and looking at their scrollbars.css files.

The current build of iTunes may occasionally draw the scroll bar off the edge of the screen. It should be possible to resize the window to reveal the scroll bar.
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl-B to turn on the menu bar.
Ctrl-S to turn on the sidebar.
Ctrl-/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the previous search behaviour.
You can also open the menu bar temporarily by pressing Alt.

I have a macro program called QuicKeys installed on my Mac that I've used for countless years, and which I highly recommend for other reasons. Anyway, one of QuicKeys' many features is simulating a scroll wheel using the keyboard. I have it simulating a cell-by-cell scroll using cmd-arrow keys. The only drawback is that I have to release the cmd key each time I want to move another cell.

Why do the scroll bars on the lower right disappear in Motion 5?

After upgrading to Mavericks I noticed that the scroll bars on the right hand side disappear after using them once. See pictures.
How do I solve this? Very inconvenient to say the least. I've tried restarting and repair permissions so far.
Restarting Motion brings them back, but as soon as I scroll for the first time: they're gone again!

I was able to bring them back without restarting motion by opening opening and closing the timeline. Either click the button at the bottom right of the Motion window that looks like a film strip, or use the keyboard shortcut (Command+7). A couple of other options that may help, use the scroll wheel of your mouse or change the height of your layers to show more. You chan change the height by going to the layer list to the right of the timeline and moving your cursor between two layers. It will change to a double arrow. You can click and drag to grow or shrink your layer height.

Thanks for your reply. I've narrowed the problem down to this strange behavior only happening when the viewport component is a tree-table (a JTable with a JTree for a column renderer). The tree-table works okay in JDK 1.3, but not in JDK 1.4. When I remove the JTree column renderer, the table draws correctly, but without the tree. It looks like the viewport position is being set wrong somewhere.
When a column is resized, an AdjustmentEvent is created. So that's why resizing the column looked like it had the same effect as the horizontal scroll bar.
If you're interested, then I will be happy to let you know how I fixed it, if I can.
The complete code that creates the scroll pane with the vertical scroll bar on the left is below. There's too much code to post the JTree column renderer.
