EA4.0 Errors

Hi
After upgrading to SQL Dev and the ODM repository (on a 11.2.0.3 DB), I've gone into some of my existing workflows. After a few minutes I noticed in the Logging Page-Log tab at the bottom of the screen the following errors. I don't know what I did to cause these, but you might be able to work out something

Another thing. I try to re-run the Explore node on an existing workflow that was running against MINING_DATA_BUILD_V and after 5 minutes it is still running. An ideas?
This used to take a few seconds before the upgrade.
Completed after 10 minutes!!!
Opening a workflow, opening a node, etc all seems to take a few seconds longer that ver 3.2.2. or is it me? this is not just for the ODM part but for most things in SQL Dev 4.
Regards
Brendan

Interesting. That is the timing I was expecting-ish.
Typical it might be something to do with me so
I started with SQL Dev 3 and upgraded with each release and EAs
I've tried it again and this time it took 6 minutes. From watching the Workflow Jobs progress bar it get to the 3/4 point quickly and then spends the rest of the time (approx 5.25 minutes) at this point before completing.
It seems to be something just before or starting the cleanup

Is there are way to automatically expand the all the Workflow Editor tabs, or is there a setting to do this. Otherwise I have to expand them each time I go into ODM. I should have asked for/about something like this before now.
I've make the memory changes to the SQL Dev VM as you suggested and it seems to have made a difference and getting the response that I'm used to.

• Custom error messages impossible with jsf ea4??

Hello,
Does jsf allow custom error messages for built-in validators?
I was told by a member of the jsf team that what is described in the tutorial applies only to future versions of jsf.
Is this a bug? If it isn't and if it is indeed possible to have your own error messages for built-in validators, I would be grateful for someone of the jsf team to help me.
I have already posted some messages asking for help but I never got any answer.
Julien

If a validator wants to add an error message to the current page, it has to call FacesContext.addMessage() with a javax.faces.application.Message argument. The design intent is that you can look up localized messages (defined in the config file) via MessageResources -- that's the part that does not work right now.
In the interim, though, you can construct your own Message instances by leveraging the MessageImpl class:
context.addMessage
(new MessageImpl(Message.SEVERITY_ERROR,
"You goofed",
"Here are the gory details..."));
or look up the message strings from a resource bundle.

• Engineer to Logical Model in SQL Developer EA4 causes problems

I'm working with SQL Developer 3.0 EA4 (Build MAIN-03.97)
Unfortunately I fond out, that it would be impossible to use the function " Engineer to Logical Model" any more after I change the relational model. In datamodeler.log I got the error message line "[AWT-EventQueue-0] ERROR MDBAction - java.lang.NullPointerException" for each time I use the function "Engineer to Logical Model". I try it out with the sample model "sh_cre_all.sql" and with following steps:
1) Import via DDL File – no problem
2) Engineer to Logical Model – no problem
3) Change some attributes in the relational model – no problem
4) Again Engineer to Logical Model – no problem
5) Save, Exit an Open the sample – no problem
6) Again Step 3 and 4 – no problem
7) Add a table via drag&drop from an oracle schema – no problem
8) Save, Exit an Open the sample – no problem
9) Engineer to Logical Model no longer possible!!!
Bernd

I have experienced similar problems with 'Engineer to Logical model'.
The scenario was following:
Creating Logical model using 'Engineer to Logical model' from existing Relational model.
Modifying the Relational model and 'Engineer to Logical model' again. No exception occured but the Logical model wasn't updated accordingly.
Removing all entities from the Logical model.
Trying to 'Engineer to Logical model' again. No entities were created in the Logical model (even after few tries).
So I got to situation where I was unable to generate a Logical model, which was quite frustrating.
The workaround was to create new Data Modeller project and import to it from the original project - the 'Engineer to Logical model' worked again.

• Unit test fails after upgrading to Kodo 4.0.0 from 4.0.0-EA4

I have a group of 6 unit tests failing after upgrading to the new Kodo
4.0.0 (with BEA) from Kodo-4.0.0-EA4 (with Solarmetric). I'm getting
exceptions like the one at the bottom of this email. It seems to be an
interaction with the PostgreSQL driver, though I can't be sure. I
haven't changed my JDO configuration or the related classes in months
since I've been focusing on using the objects that have already been
defined. The .jdo, .jdoquery, and .java code are below the exception,
just in case there's something wrong in there. Does anyone have advice
as to how I might debug this?
Thanks,
Mark

• Conversion error with non-primitive types

I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this problem or has a potential solution.
The problem, in a nutshell:
I have beans that use non-primitive types (Float instead of float) in the getters and setters. However I keep getting conversion error problems. If I switch to primitive types, I don't get conversion errors. The built-in FloatConverter says (in the documentation at least) that it supports both primitives and boxed types. This was all working in EA4, though. I am discovering this problem as I migrate from EA4 to 1.0.
The code is pretty straightforward:
public class Bean implements Serializable {
public float getProp() {...}
public void setProp(float) {...}
public Float getPropOld() {...}
public void setPropOld(Float) {...}

<h:inputText id="floatinput" value="#{BeanInstance.prop}"/>

<h:inputText id="floatinputold" value="#{BeanInstance.propOld}"/>
Any ideas? I have tried explicitly calling the FloatConverter but that gave the same problems.

Okay, I figured out my problem.
The JSF spec implies that f:convertNumber may be used inside an h:inputText tag. The early versions of Core JSF go further and show f:convertNumber being used inside an h:inputText tag in one of the examples. (Chapter 7, conversions).
However, this has been the source of my problem. When using f:convertNumber, the converter would automatically determine the data type without regard to the data type in the backing bean. Hence, it would try to pass Longs or Doubles to the bean instead of Floats.
I believe this may be an issue in the 1.0 FR release.

• AE WON'T OPEN AT STARTUP - mixed errors

I've looked at a previous discussion about graphic cards' issues with AE CS6, but I can't get rid of this error. When I launch AE CS6 11.0.2 I receive an error regarding the dynamiclink manager and AE crashes.
If I hit the reopen button then I get the sniffer error. And so on, again and again.
If I try to hit the reopen button several times (maybe ten) then AE opens and seems to work.
But once I quit, the story restarts the next time.
I'm running Creative Cloud CS6 on a MacBook Pro 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB RAM OS X 10.8.3 AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB.
The strange thing is that few weeks ago I was using the Mac set to the English language, so when I installed PR and AE CS6 the applications were installed in English and working correctly.
But, as I'm Italian, I had to switch back to the Italian for teaching a seminar, so I decided to install both AE and PR in Italian and then the adventure began.
Everything is updated to May 21st, including MacOsX.
Can anybody help me on this? It's quite urgent as I have another lecture on Saturday and after having uninstalled and installed several times AE I wasn't able to get rid of this very annoying error.
Please help!

• Error Opening File In Windows

I am running the latest Raptor (Just updated from EA4) on Windows XP.
I find that if I have a file and I right click and open with SQL Developer, the file opens OK but I get the following error message:
"Windows cannot file C:/path_to_file. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search".
It does not matter if Raptor is open or not.
Anybody else find this behavior?
Graham

I have had another look at this and am increasingly convinced that this is a bug. I think it may apply only to Windows computers. I am running the EA4.1 on windows XP.
To recreate:
- Open raptor; tools, preferences, file types.
- Find the .sql extension and highlight.
- Check the "open with SQL developer box"
- OK and close raptor.
- Find a .sql file on the hard drive, double click to open
- Raptor will open the file fine, but you will get the error I referred to in the previous post, which you need to OK to close.
If you then go to the .sql file, right click, open with and browse to the sqldeveloper.exe executable, and open it that way, it will open in Raptor and NOT produce the warning.

• JSF Beta - faces-config.xml - Managed Bean Errors.

I recently switched from EA4 to Realse Beta.
When I start my web server, my app throws the following:
Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class
com.sun.faces.config.ConfigListener -- java.lang.NullPointerException
I started removed stuff from my faces config and the application started up fine when I removed the managed beans that do not reference other managed beans(see below)?
TIA,
Juby
Example

<managed-bean>

User Bean. This will hold the user info from ldap.

<managed-bean-name>levitonUserLdap</managed-bean-name>
<managed-bean-class>leviton.ldap.Names</managed-bean-class>
<managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
</managed-bean>
<managed-bean>

User Bean. This will hold the user info for the application.

<managed-bean-name>levitonUser</managed-bean-name>
<managed-bean-class>leviton.FEOP.beans.User</managed-bean-class>
<managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
<managed-property>
<property-name>firstName</property-name>
<value-ref>levitonUserLdap.firstName</value-ref>
</managed-property>
<managed-property>
<property-name>lastName</property-name>
<value-ref>levitonUserLdap.lastName</value-ref>
</managed-property>
<managed-property>
<property-name>domainUserId</property-name>
<value-ref>levitonUserLdap.userId</value-ref>
</managed-property>
</managed-bean>

I beileve this is the cuase of my error.
Why did the <value-ref> tag get removed from the web-facesconfig_1_0.dtd?
How can I reference another managed bean now?

• Petstore deployment error

Duplicated project name in import. Project petstore-impl defined first in E:\Downloads\java pet store\javapetstore-2.0-ea4.6\nbproject\ant-deploy.xml and again in E:\Downloads\java pet store\javapetstore-2.0-ea4.6\nbproject\build-impl.xml

The most common cause for this error is the use of build scripts that were generated by earlier releases of NetBeans. I think more recent versions of NetBeans have addressed this issue.
The error is really just informational.

• 3.0 upgrade failure with Error 1604

Just tried to make the upgrade - downloaded, backed-up, etc. Got as far as the RESTORE finalisation and eventually was told "cannnot restore - unknown error 1604".
Now my iPhone doesn't work - it just shows a black screen with white USB cable plus an image of iTunes. Tried reset (Home + Sleep button pressing), but that doesn't do anything.
I've re-attached the iPhone, followed the RESTORE instructions in iTunes, but always the same error comes back eventually - "cannnot restore - unknown error 1604".
I've tried re-installing iTunes, Apple Mobile Device, etc. but no it makes no difference.
Below is my last Updater log report. *Can anyone please help?*

Ok this has become totally ridiculous. I've spent the last 5 hours trying to fix my iphone all because I went to update to 3.0
I didn't do anything wrong, the files were all from apple and not corrupted.
I finally managed to restore via my laptop and yet when I try to get my settings back on my phone from what I have saved on my desktop, it breaks again and I have to start all over.
This is so ()&U)*(&@)*(&@()@ stupid!!!!
So the last few months of customizing and backing up my iphone is all lost due to some bullsh*t that apple screwed up?
I guess I should have gotten a Zune.
Anyways, this thread is barely useful... I wish you guys would clarify a little bit.
Like what vette asked in reference to Kleckerei's second post... *** is the file name?
I'm so ****** off right now... months and months of saved contacts, notes, games, apps, etc... GONE and I backed up EVERY **** TIME I plugged in my iphone.
This is the ultimate failure in the entire history of phone manufacturers.
