EAS Service on 64 Bit

Hi Together,
I installed EAS 9.3.1 (32 Bit) on a 64 Bit Windows 2003 System before and I managed to get the service running properly by commenting out some 32 Bit entries in a file.
Unfortunately I can't remember, maybe somebody got a hint for me?
Thanks in advance

Configuring 32Bit products on a 64Bit platform may generate the following error: "Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform"
This is happening because the Configtool is picking up the Platform related JRE which is the 64Bit one.
To address the issue, the Configtool must pick up the 32Bit version of the JRE.
Solution
To fix the issue, the setJavaRuntime.bat needs to be edited.
Follow the next steps to accomplish the change:
+1) Edit the setJavaRuntime.bat file located at the %Hyperion_Home%\common\config directory+
+2) Locate the following section of the script:+
REM Get JRE or JDK
if exist "%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JRE-AMD64\Sun\1.5.0" goto okSetJREAMD64_150
+3) Add a "REM" before the "if" like this:+
REM Get JRE or JDK
REM if exist "%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JRE-AMD64\Sun\1.5.0" goto okSetJREAMD64_150
This will cause the script to skip the JRE 64Bit version and will force the script to use the JRE 32Bit.
+4) Save the batch file+
+5) Run the configtool utility again+
Ok?
Cheers

  • Windows Service Manager 32-Bit Has Stopped Responding/iPod not showing up in iTunes

    Hello,
I've scoured this forum for answers but I cannot find any result that works. I have an iPod classic that I've connected to my Gateway running Windows Vista for over four years without issue. When I was using iTunes 9 the other day, I plugged my iPod into my computer, but it only connected to My Computer and didn't connect to iTunes and update my iPod accordingly. So, the iPod is charging and the iPod is showing the "Connected, Eject before disconnecting" screen, but it isn't adding new music (which kind of defeats the purpose of buying new music). I thought it was because I was using 9, so I downloaded iTunes 10, but the issue still popped up.
This hasn't pop up today after I installed 10, but back when I was using iTunes 9 the following error came up on my computer: "Windows Service Manager 32-bit Has Stopped Working." Now, no error messages pop up, even though the problem persists.
I've tried suggestions in this post as well as in this post. Also, with the fix being recommended in those threads to change the code in Notepad by clicking "edit" under the System tab under My Computer? There's one problem - there is no edit button on my options. I've included a screen grab to prove this.
I don't know if the relative age of the discussions makes any difference - maybe a new fix has com up and i'm just not finding it? Plus, since this issue began with iTunes 9, I can't help but feel like getting rid of iTunes 10 is going to help the issue, either.
This is incredibly frustrating, not being able to add new music to my iPod, so if anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it, as previously recommended ones aren't useful.
Screen grab of iPod connecting to My Computer, but not iTunes:
Screen grab of the lack of an "Edit" button in the place to edit codes as recommended in previous topics:

    Hi,
Yes you can, but you should be aware of the limitations of MS SQL Express version.
    1. 1GB RAM
    2. 10 GB database size per database excluding log file (SQL 2008 R2 and above)
3.Job Scheduling service is not available with SQL Server Express.
4.Data import and export feature is not available with SQL Server Express.
    5.Limitation on number of CPU

  • EAS Service is Down suddenly

    Hi All,
Today I have come across with EAS services down in the Server suddenly & unable to access the EAS console.
But there is no EAS service stopped information entered in any of the log files & no entry in the Event Viewer also.
Can you pls let me know where (in which log file) does the EAS service stopped information is maintained?
What all are the reasons for suddenly stopping of EAS services?
Thanks you very much in advance.
    Thanks,
    Swathi.

    Dear JohnGoodwin,
Thankyou very much for sharing the information.
First day of EAS down issue -- Actually we have nearly 30 cubes maintained in the server. And this EAS down is due to Memory Utilization is high as all the cubes are loaded at that point... We think as this may be the main reason for this issue on first day.
But after unloading the cubes memory utilization is reduced and then EAS service is started.
But w.r.t second & third day issue, I am not understanding wht is the root cause for it...
I have read the information which is provided in the below link:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_11121/ch07s01s01.html
And in our case, this issue happened in the Development server and wht steps I need to follow to find the root cause and resolve the issue..

  • HP P1102W printer crashes print service on 64 bit Windows 7

My P1102W randomly causes the print service to crash taking support of all other printers with it. I found a way to restart the print service manually, but this is a real pain. Also, printing two sided works on my 64 bit windows machine, but doesn't work from my other PC (a Windows XP HP Laptop).  Single sided printout works from the Windows XP machine most times, but occasionally nothing shows up on the the printer, but there are no error messages.
Any chance that HP will fix the problems with this printer driver?

  • Office Standard 2013 Key Management Service host 32-bit or 64-bit version ?

    Hello,
I have a 2012 DomainController serving as our KMS host.
I need to activate 2013 Lync 32-bit clients so I will have to install the office 2013 KMS host.
The KMS host download is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit.
Should I download the 64-bit version because the 2012 OS is 64 bit or will I download the 32-bit host since the Office version we use is 32-bit?
    BR
    Sverre Amundsen

    Hi,
Based on my understanding, I suppose that you want to activate 32-bit version of Lync 2013. Is it right?
If so, you can only install 32-bit version of Office 2013 on your PC. The 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Office programs don’t get along, so you can only have one type installed at a time. If you mix 32-bit and 64-bit version installed
on the same PC, you might see some errors.
Reference about why can’t I install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Office 2013:

By the way, there is an article about choosing 32-bit or 64-bit version of Office.

  • Ipod service module (32 bit)

I've tried to install itunes version 9.0, 4 times and each time a window appears telling me 'ipodservice module (32 bit) has encountered a problem and must close'. Also itunes is unable to recognise my nano ipod. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling 4 times as i've already said to no avail. please help.

In that case we'd better check for malware. (Adware using the contextplus engine can do this to an XP PC.)
The next thing I'd check for is malware. (A number of different varieties of malware attack that Key in order that they can run on startup on an infected PC.)
Try downloading and installing the free trial version of Malwarebytes. Update the Malwarebytes definitions and run a scan of the PC.

Does the Malwarebytes scan pick up any infections? If so, what does it call them?

  • EAS 9.3.1.4 service pack does not contain eas.ear

    Hello Experts,
One of my customer has the following issue:
Currently at version 9.3.1.0.0.135 of EAS and version 9.3.1.0.0 for Essbase. They have downloaded the EAS 9.3.1.4 Service Pack and extracted the zip file and setup.jar file but the package does not seem to contain the new eas.ear file for deployment. Initially when setting up 9.3.1 environment, they manually deployed all of the ear files to Weblogic 9 application servers as per the 9.3.1 install guide.
The EAS 9.3.1.4 service pack readme file instructions only reference the original 9.3.1 installation guide, but since the manual deployment instructions in the original 9.3.1 install guide for original install is opted, they are now stuck with having to manually deploy upgrades and service packs manually as well.
Do you know how we can obtain the 9.3.1.4 eas.ear file and any other associated EAS upgrade files so that they can manually deploy to WebLogic and perform the upgrade?
    Environment:
EAS on Solaris 32 bit servers
Any suggestions would be of greatest help.
    Regards,
    Sonal

    Hi Sonal,
One option could be that you re-deploy AAS on Weblogic with the auto deploy instead of manual and then upgrade to AAS 9.3.1.4.This may not be the best option but something that can be done.
    Cheers
    Manoj

  • EAS 9.3.1 on Windows 2003 64 bit (Xeon) issues

Has anyone successfully installed and configured EAS 931 on a Xeon based system running Server 2003 64 bit? I can install but when i try to configure the app server it bombs out with errors about not being able to load 32bit.dll on a 64 bit server. I swear past clients have used EAS in a 64 bit environment but i dont recall if they were Xeon or Itanium. I only see a 64 bit version of EAS for Itanum, not for x64. This is killing me.

Hmm, the issue now is that once essbase is installed, you can't redeploy EAS or APS if they're on the same server. i can't figure out where in the config process i should look to change a path or what not so EAS and APS deploy properly. I think EAS/APS need to be on a different server at this point.

  • BITS - background intelligent transfer service - question - Win 7

    Hi,
I have created a script to configure the startup type for the windows services during the OSD TS
I was able to set the startup type for all services to atuo/manual/disabled - except for BITS
it needs to be set as automatic however no matter how I do it the service is always set to Automatic (Delay start)
But the script works and BITS is set to Automatic when I run the script manaully after the installation is completed
    Has anyone experience this problem?
this is how I configure the service:
    sc config BITS start= auto
    and powershell script:
Get-Service -displayName "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" | Set-Service -StartupType automatic
    Thanks

What is the matter with you Jason?  And Torsten for that matter.  What a bunch of inane, unhelpful crap.
Hey Jason, ever worked with NIST?  USGCB?  DISA?  Contract compliance and common sense security concern determines how services start in Windows, not someone from MS product development.  How laughable.
My BITS service must be set to Manual or Disabled.  Problem is, despite the group policy, my TS boxes are starting to revert to Automatic (Delayed Start).  I have no idea how this is happening.  A gpupdate fixes it, but these
boxes restart every night and re-process ALL policy ever ~90 minutes, so how the change is being made is a complete mystery.
Of course I scour the inter-verse and find a thread on the subject, but Jason and Torsten have combined their powers to make the thread useless, devoid of information, and annoying to read.
    Congratulation Jason and Torsten.

  • Re: Installation of client Essbase Administration Services Console 11.1.2

    Hi,
I am going through the same issue.
I've installed and configured Hyperion 11.1.2.3 on my XP machine(XP Service Pack3 32-bit) which has Oracle 11G installed on it..
I'm able to open Shared Services URL and am able to open Workspace URL but I don't see Administrative Services Console in Essbase from Start >> All Programs.
I've checked for the console folder in <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\eas\console\bin. but I don't see a console folder.
I even searched for the file, admincon.bat and din't find that either.
Can any one help me to bring up the Administration Services Console back.
And I also see that Import Data from Earlier Release is failed while configuration is done. Did that has got something to do with?
    Kindly help.
    Thanks,
    Raj

You may have to install and configure Essbase server to use it.
I think it doesn't support XP.
You can look at the support matrix for supported platforms and get essbase server installed to continue working on it. Have a look at the link Supported Platforms Matrices - Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System to get you started.
At minimum, you need to have windows server 2003 for essbase server

  • Regarding Hyperion 64 bit Installation

    Dear All,
I am going to install Hyperion 64 bit application on windows 2003 sp2 64 bit os. While selecting Essbase products, i am having 32bit as well as 64 bit services. Which one i have to select for Hyperion 64 bit products
    Products Details
    Essbase Client 32 bit -
    Essbase Client 64 bit
Essbase Administration Services 32 bit Web Application
Essbase Administration Services 64 bit Web Application
    Essbase Integration Services 32 bit
    Essbase Integration Services 64 bit
    Essbase Services Server 32 bit
    Essbase Services Server 64 bit
For above 4 services, which one i have to select for Hyperion 64 bit installation
    I selected
    Essbase Client 32 bit
    Essbase Services Server 32 bit
Essbase Administration Services 64 bit Web Application
    Essbase Integration Services 64 bit
    Is it right selection?
Please guide me in this situation.
    Thanks,
    PC

If you are installing a 64bit platform why don't you pick all the 64bit versions of the available products.
The only one I would maybe choose 32bit is EAS as you have to deploy the web application manually, if don't have any experience with 64bit web apps and deploying manually then stick with the 32bit eas and choose 64bit for the other prodcucts
    Cheers
