EBS R12 Linux x86 2-node RAC
We are building a test environment on Linux with 4 physical servers. 2 physical servers will form a 2-node RAC. The other 2 physical servers are application nodes.
Can we run the CM processes on the application nodes and keep the database nodes just for the database tier? We want to keep the number of application tiers to a minimum so we don't have to spend a lot of time patching. We also plan to have multiple test databases so would like to share the same application tiers for multiple databases. I understand that we cannot keep the patch level different in this case.
Hi,
For using CM on application nodes, do i need to do anything different? For example, any database level parameters or does it need anything else. The reason i am asking is i see almost everyone running CM on database nodes. Is there a metalink note to enable concurrent processing on the application node? Should i use a shared application tier filesystem for this? See the docs in this thread.
PCP Configuration
PCP Configuration
Using a shared application tier file system is an option but it also creates a single point of failure. If i do a nfs mount of the filesystem to the second application node then if my first application node the entire application is down.
Is Sharing E-Business Suite Release 12 File System Among Multiple Database Instances not supported? I thought it is supported.If you mean different databases then it is not supported. The shared application tier nodes files should point to a single database.

R12 Apps with 4 node RAC and 4 apps nodes - Post Install check list
Hi All,
We have a new Oracle Apps R12 instalaltion with 4 node RAC and 4 Apps nodes with load balancing and external web tier being done by an outside firm. We are assigned the responsibility of checking that everything has been configured properly both on the RAC side and Apps side. I haven't worked on RAC earlier. Please let me know what all need to be checked before approving the install done by the outside firm.
Thank you!Please check below metalink notes

Successfully applied RUP6 (6728000) on EBS R12 linux rhel4.6
Hi All,
I have successuflly applied RUP6 on our EBS R12.
The pre-reqs patch I applied is:
7305220
The post-reqs patches I applied are:
7109200
7653364
8222387

The above patches went on smoothly and successfully.
Then here comes again the part I hated most ....to run autoconfig
on the apps and dbtiers.
You know I always encounter 90% error in autoconfig in all my installation even if they are successful. I can not understand why I always failed in autoconfig runs :(

Converting EBS R12 database to RAC 11gR2
We are on EBS R12 with 11gR2 database. I read the document 823587.1 with emphasis on Section 3. We are planning to convert the existing EBS database to a 2-node RAC on new servers.
1. Install 11gR2 Grid Infrastructure on new servers.
2. Install 11gR2 database software on the 2 nodes with local disk.
3. Configure listener.
4. Implement and run Autoconfig on the 2 nodes.
5. Start Application processes.
I am not clear about how the data is migrated to the new servers with shared disk using ASM. How is this part done? Mind you, we are moving from a single node server to two brand new servers. I understand that part of using rconfig to convert from single node database to 2 node RAC. But we are not planning to use the existing database server as part of new RAC environment. Thanks.It sounds like you are trying to build out new boxes.
The Shared Storage will have to be setup first with the datafiles/control files, then you could clone the database to the new servers. with RMAN or some other method.
Your Sysadmin (Unix) should be able to help setting up the shared storage. then on the clone based on how you do it. The Datafiles can be mapped to the new storage area and/or ASM. The Tasks are slightly different. -
"Page cannot be displayed" error in EBS R12
Hi All,
We implemented EBS R12 with 2 Application Node, 2 CM nodes and 2 DB Nodes(RAC). We have also setup load balancer at the application level. We have enabled HTTPS at the load balancer level. Our application works perfectly fine except some of the PIM module related screens and especially Workflow Manager, it gives us "Page Cannot be displayed" error sometime. What we have observed is, Our URL is https://ebs.abcltd.com but when we click on Workflow manager link under Oracle Application Manager, the URL gets redireced to http://ebs.abcltd.com:443/. We would like it know why this redirection is happening? as we have not mentioned this (http://ebs.abcltd.com:443) url in our context file.
Thanks,
PrasadHi Prasad,
Can you find any errors in Apache/Workflow/Database log files when this error occur?
Did you verify the session persistence on the load balancer? -- See the documents referenced in this F5 Load Balancer with Oracle 11i.

Hi,
I have a report output file report1.pdf coming from windows.
I ftp it to our EBS R12 linux server to the desired location.
How can I view it using the "view request" of the EBS CM?
Thanks a lotHi,
What do you mean by how to view the report? If you register the concurrent program, then you should be able to view the output using Acrobat Reader (since the type is PDF).
In addition, you should not upload the output file (.pdf), instead upload the rdf file under $PRODUCT_TOP/reports/<lang> directory.
Regards,

Hi All,
I am looking for high level steps for a clone of a multi-node RAC-EBS install along with expected times.
Could someone please share such a document for R12?
Thanks for your time!
Regards,Hi
It is mandatory to be certified for RAC clones.
Note: 783188.1 - Certified RAC Scenarios for E-Business Suite Cloning
You have not mentioned what kind of clone do you looking for whether it's Multi-Multi or Multi -Single,please see the below thread for multi to single instance
Please see this docs

How migrate Oracle 2 node RAC to EBS R12
Hi
How to migrate normal oracle 2node rac to ebs r12.
Regards,
Subba.Happy to help you ... well I would be if I had any idea what you are asking.
A two node RAC cluster is two physical servers, and a storage array, running a single Oracle database of unknown version number: No application and no application server.
EBS R12, I presume, is a totally different product named E-Business Suite version 12.x
They have different architectures, different licensing, different, resource requirements, and totally different management requirements.
So I see two possible answers to your inquiry.
1. You far more clearly explain what you are asking.
2. You burn the two-node RAC cluster to the ground and install the product you want. That said would recommend not putting the application components of EBS on the two node cluster so you will need at least one additional server. -

The window titled « Install Oracle Applications - Welcome » is displayed but empty;
I Click [ X ] at the top right corner;
The windows titled « Oracle Applications Rapid Install Wizard Alert » is displayed, asking « Are you sure you want to exit ? » I say [ Yes ];
On the Terminal, I press Ctrl C.
I choose Ubuntu that is easy to use. I tried and abandoned Oracle EL5 and Solaris.Need help N°2, please.
Install started well. I am facing another lot of errors, quoted as below: -----
In the windows "System Check Details" - File Space check:
-- database node space checks --
RW-20013: Error: - Not enough free disk space on system:
Database Transaction File Directory = /d01/oracle/VIS/db/apps_st/data
required = 65064
actual = 38180
RW-20013: Error: - Not enough free disk space on system:
Database Archive File Directory = /d01/oracle/VIS/db/apps_st/data
required = 44798
actual = 38180
(all other Disk spaces were accepted.)
Where I can correct the disk space allocation ? There are 67 GB free disk space on my pc, avalaible space before VIS install was 270 GB approximatively.

Oracle EBS R12.1.3 High Availability with RAC 11g on VMWARE
Dear All,
Our customer requirement is of high availability and good utilization of hardware for EBS R12.13 implementation.As per our strategy we want to use Oracle VM(I think it doesn't require any licensing) , RAC 11gR2 and appstier load balancing.We have only two servers to achieve all these.One one node there will be two VMs one for dbtier and another one for appstier and same will be on second server.So this way we will be having four virtual machines on two physical nodes.For all these we will use OEL Linux as Operating system
Please share your experiences , if above deployment model is correct or need further enhancements.
