ECATT - store results to a file

Dear experts,
I have a test scripts which Create 100 purchase orders.
I can look up the system assigned Purchase Order Number from the execution log.
Is it possible to write the export parameter/variable part 2 of the system message ( e.g. Purchase Order Number) into a file ?
THANKS in Advance for all the inputs.

Hi
Check CATT help. http://****************/Tutorials/eCATT/eCATTMain.htm
SAP users use CATT frequently to upload master data or to make changes to master data records. SAP Consultants and Abapers tend to use it for creating test data. The transactions run without user interaction. You can check system messages and test database changes. All tests are logged. The CATT records your keystrokes while performing the actual transaction. You then identify the fields that you wish to change in that view. Then export this data to a spreadsheet to populate with the data required. This is uploaded and executed saving you keying in the data manually.
To perform CATT, it has to be enabled in your production environment (your systems administrator should be able to do this - SCC4). You will also need access to your development system to create the CATT script.
The process of uploading data with a CATT:
Activate CATT in your client
In transaction code SCC4 - click the change button
Double click on the client number
In the Restriction section, tick Allows CATT processes to be started.
Upload data using CATT
1. Create Import variant for the fields you need
Transaction SCAT
Goto Parameters
Create Import Variant
Goto Variant -> Edit
Goto Variant -> Fast entry or F9
Duplicate 01
2. To change the MRP Group for a list of Material
Assuming that I want to change the MRP Group for a list of Material.
My text files should look something like this:
[Variant ID] [Variant Text] &ZDISGR &ZMATNR
--> Parameter texts MRP group Material
--> Default Values M1 A001
Changes to the default values displayed above not effective
#01 M1 A001
#02 '' A002
#03 M1 A003
Note : '' denotes a blank in the field. e.g. Material A002 MRP group will be replaced by a blank.
3. Configure the recorded entry fields to read from the imported text file data
In the CATT : Maintain functions test case Screen
Double click on the Object Name
Double click on the screen number with your desired fields
Park the cursor on the fields
Click Edit -> Details
Fill in the Parameters Name and Field Contents
Finish Save it.
Assign your text file data.
In the CATT : Execute test case Screen
Click External from file and choose your text file
CATT will now read from your text file and update whatever data you have specified.

  • Store result in file in SQL Developer

    Hi,
    Is there any way to store results from query or SP in physical file ?
    I could not find any option for that, I'm running it from Windows machine using SQL Developer,
    then I expect output file will be stored on Ora server machine, right ? There is probably no option for Oracle to store it on local W machine.

    A few remarks:
    - This is not the SQL Developer forum
    - SQL Developer comes with online help
    - Did you see the print and the disk icon in the upper left hand corner of the output window
    Could you please avoid this type of question in the future? It makes you look very silly.

  • How kann I store a very big file in to Oracle XML DB?

    Hello,
    I´m looking for a fast method to store a XML file in to a oracle 10g XE. I had try to store the 500 kb file in to the database as a xmltype or a clob, but I still have the same Error: "ORA-01704: string literal too long". I´m looking for a long time for a possibility to store this file and another one(113 MB) in to the database. I had searched by google to see if any solution are available, and the unique solution found is to splitt the document in a loop statement(due to the 32 kb limit). But this solution don´t allow any storage with a XML Schema and is to slow.
    here is an example how I did it(but it didn´t work):
    create table Mondial(Nr int, xmldata xmltype);
    INSERT INTO Mondial VALUES (1, 'big xml file');
    I would also try the alternative with a bind variable like this:
    create or replace PROCEDURE ProcMondial IS
    poXML CLOB;
    BEGIN
    poXML := 'big xml file';
    INSERT INTO Mondial VALUES (1, XMLTYPE(poXML));
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    raise_application_error(-20101, 'Exception occurred in Mondial procedure :'||SQLERRM);
    END ProcMondial;
    I become also the same Error:String to long!
    I am using sql developer for the Query.
    please help me, I´m despaired.
    thanks!
    Michael

    If you use the suggested statement
    create table Mondial(Nr int, xmldaten xmltype) TABLESPACE mybigfile;than I hope for you that this XML data content will not be used for content driven procedures like selecting, updating or deletion of parts of XML data. The default for "xmltype" has a CLOB physical representation that, if not on 11g combining it with an XMLIndex, is only useful for document driven XML storage. That means - You ALWAYS delete, select, update or insert the WHOLE XML content (/per record basis). If this is not your intent, you will encounter performance problems.
    Use instead Object Relational or Binary XML (11g) while using the XMLType datatype or the XMLType datatype in conjunction with CLOB based storage AND an XMLIndex if on 11g. Carefully read the first and/or second chapter of the 10/11g XMLDB Development Guide. Carefully choose your XMLType needed (and or XML design) if you don't want to be disappointed regarding the end result and/or have to redesign your XML tables.
    A short introduction on the possibilities can be found here (not only 11g related btw): http://www.liberidu.com/blog/?p=203

  • HT3842 Does iTunes store the original music file and copy it into a separate folder? If i delete the original file from finder will it remove it from my iTunes library?

    Hi, on my last PC when transferring music to my new MacBook Pro i noticed i had about 6 duplicated of each song in every album i took hours in removing them.
    I Just wondered Does iTunes store the original music file and then copy it into a separate folder?
    If i delete the original file from finder will it remove it from my iTunes library or vice versa. I didnt want to lose any music like i have some how managed to on my old computer.
    Or should i keep both files of it in the Music folder and also iTunes library folder?
    Which is best ?

    DrewPowell wrote:

    It does both at the same time.
    When you add files to iTunes, it copies them into /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/ folder. The original file remains where it was.
    You can drag a file to /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/Automatically add to iTunes/ folder.
    This will add to iTunes and move it to /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/.
    I keep a shortcut of this folder on my desktop then simply drag files to the shortcut to add to iTunes.
    Then there are no "extra" files around.

  • What is the best way to store data to a file? Serialization?

    FYI: I am some what of a novice programer. I have almost finished my degree but everything I know about Java is self taught (never taken a course in java). Any way here is my question.
    So I have an example program that I have created. It basically just has three textpanes which also have the ability to contain images. Now I would like to learn how to store data to a file for later retrieval and decided to use a program such as this as an example. I am not sure if I should use the serialization API that java has or some other means such as XML. If I used XML I was not sure how to store the image data that would be contained in the text panes. I figured serialization would take care of that if I just serialized my main class and then restored it. So That is that I tried first. Is this a good direction to go?
    The problem I am having is that I cant seem to get the serialization to work the way I need it to. I am not sure what I am doing wrong because I have read many tutorials and looked at allot of example code but still dont understand. The tutorial I looked at most is [this one at IBM.|http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Programming/serialization/]
    The eclipse project folder for my example program can be found here:
    [http://startoftext.com/stuff/myMenuExp/]
    zipped version:
    [http://startoftext.com/stuff/myMenuExp.zip]
    The main class is mainwindow.java. I know the source is kinda dirty. Any comments are welcome but I am most interested in how to solve this serialization problem. Thanks

    DrClap wrote:
    What will the nature of the data be? Just a handful of strings? A bunch of objects of different types reflecting the current state of your program to great depth and complexity? Something else?The data will be what is contained in three text panes. Each text pane containing rich text and images. For an example take a look at the example program in my first post.
    How will the data be used? Just write it out when the app shuts down, and read it all back in when it starts up? Do you need to query or search for specific subsets of the data? Is there any value in the stored form of the data being human-readable?Basically the data will need to be saved when the application shuts down or when the user selects save from the file menu. The data will be restored when the user opens the file from the file menu. It would be nice if the stored data is human readable but its not of primary importance.
    How often will the data be written and read? How many reads/writes/bytes/etc. per second/minute? Not often. Just a simple open and save from the file menu.
    How large could the data conceivably get?It will probably be a few paragraphs of formated text and less then a dozen images per text pane.
    Will reading and writing of the data need to occur concurrently?no.
    Do you need to add new data to the storage as your app goes along, or just replace what's there with the most current state?Replace with the most current state of the data.
    If it's a simple read once at startup, write once at shutdown, overwriting the previous data, read only by your app, not by humans, then serialization via ObjectInput/OutputStream is probably the way to go. If there are other requirements, you may want to go with XML serialization, a DB, or some other solution.Thanks for the information. Serialization sounds like the way to go. Even if I end up using XML serialization in the end it would still be of interest to me to learn how to use serialization without xml.
    I was trying to go with using serialization in be beginning but I cant seem to get it to work. Would you be willing to take a look at my example program. I attempted to implement serialization but it does not seem to work. Could you take a look and see what I am doing wrong. At this point I am stuck as i cant seem to get serialization to work.
    I am going to go ahead and mark this thread as answered because I think I already got most of the information I was looking for except what I am doing wrong with my attempt as serialization.
    Thank you jverd for your time.

  • Is it possible to use certutil to export multiple certificates from a local client machine store, to a .p7b file?

    Is it possible to use certutil to export multiple certificates from a local client machine store, to a .p7b file?
    Scenario: We have a few legacy certificates based on some legacy templates (2012 R2). Some belong to an old SubCA (2008 R2).
    I’ve can manually export them using certmgr mmc on the local machine to a single .p7b e.g.
    cert_backupNEW.p7b. But this is not a practical solution for me and I want to achieve this remotely via certutil or some other util that comes with Windows 7 machines.
    I’ve already worked out how to run a certutil command to add the certs back into the store e.g.
    certutil.exe -addstore -f my cert_backupNEW.p7b
    Is there a way to export multiple certs to a single backup cert, or is what I’m trying to do not possible with multiple certs?
    TC

    Something like this:
    $store = New-Object Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Store "my","localmachine"
    $store.Open("ReadOnly")
    Set-Content -Path exportedcerts.pfx -Value $store.Certificates.Export("pfx","password")
    $store.Close()
    note that this command will fail, if there are certificates with non-exportable keys. You cannot export certificates with non-exportable keys.

    Is there a way I can just send the results directly to a file instead of to the screen?

  • Export query result to txt file

    Hello,
    I'm trying to export a query result to txt file but I facing some problems.
    I'm using the comand below:
    set echo off newpage 0 space 0 pagesize 0 feed off head off trimspool on
    set colsep ,
    spool C:\estados.txt
    select id_estado,cod_estado,nme_estado from tb_estado;
    spool off
    First problem: My select statement is being writen on my estados.txt
    Second problem: The results are being writen with a lot of blank spaces in start of line, for example, instead of write "1,AC,Acre" the line is write as " 1,AC,Acre".
    Third problem: The "spool off" statement is being written on my estados.txt
    How could I solve it?
    Thanks

    1. Works here - what version of SQL*PLUS are you using?
    2. If you want to prevent spaces, you have to write your SELECT like this:
    select id_estado || ',' || cod_estado || ',' || nme_estado from tb_estado;Note: not tested.
    3. See 1.

    THat indicates a permissions issue on your preferences file and/ or your files are stored on some external or network device that doesn't use persistent file paths. Look into that.
