ECB "Edit in Microsoft Word" is missing

I have sharepoint 2013, Office 2010.
The server side, Central Administration > Application Management > Authentication Providers > Edit Authentication Set "Enable Client Integration?" to yes;
In the site collection features, also activated the feature to open files in Office by default.
I still did not see that ECB menu.
Any ideas,
Thanks,

Hi Guangming,
Have you tried clicking the "EDIT" button in library item display panel to edit the document in Office applicaiton instead?
Thanks

    Hi Avian,
Which suggestions did you do for resoving this issue?
Below are some troubeshotting for you:
Make sure your IE 8 is 32-bit
Add the URL of dev2 to Trusted Site
Make sure that SharePoint OpenDocumentsClass and SharePoint OpenXMLDocuments are enabled as IE Options->Programs->Manage add-ons
Repaire Office 2010 under Control Panel
Here is a similar post, in the reply section, there are some suggestions, please take a look at:

  • Which Illustrator CS3 files are editable in Microsoft Word?

    Dear all
I need to design something using InDesign and Illustrator CS3 (or just one of these depending on the responses I get).
Is is possible to save a particular file type out of either Illustrator or InDesign which can then be opened & edited in Microsoft Word (on a PC)? It would mainly just be text which would need to be edited in Word afterwards.
    Thanks in advance,
    Adam

    >Which Illustrator CS3 files are editable in Microsoft Word?
    None of them.
    >Is is possible to save a particular file type out of either Illustrator or InDesign which can then be opened & edited in Microsoft Word (on a PC)?
You can export text from InDesign and open/edit that text file in Word, but you will not get layout, page size, columns, margins, or graphics. You can export art from Illustrator as EMF or PNG (I much prefer PNG) them import those graphics normally and position as you want.
Making your Illustrator or InDesign file into an editable Word file means doing a lot of it over again in a much worst interface.

  • SharePoint 2010 Edit in Microsoft Word and Save back to SharePoint not working

Hi, I'm using SharePoint 2010 for document collaboration. I have bunch of MS Word and Excel 2010 documents loaded on the site's document library. I'm having trouble saving the documents back to SharePoint. I click on the documents "Edit in Microsoft
Excel" or "Edit in Microsoft Word" the document opens, I work on it, then I click "Save" but it wants to save to local documents folder, not SharePoint.

    Hi,
According to your description, documents cannot be saved back to SharePoint Library when editing in Microsoft Office desktop application.
I tried to reproduce this issue in my environment, it turned out that all work as expected.
You can try the steps as below to see if the issue still exists:
    1. Enable the local webclient service on the machine.
    2. Make sure that “Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe location“ is unselected in Trust Center settings in Microsoft Word and Excel 2010.
Here is a link with more details about enabling the local webclient service on the machine:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2801565
Here is a link with more details about how to uncheck “Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations”:

Feel free to reply if there any progress.

  • Is there a shortcut to 'don't save' in microsoft word?

This applies to text edit and microsoft word. Whenever the window pops up about saving I just want to know if there is a shortcut command to say don't save. I know this is lazy because I don't want to use my trackpad but I just want to see if there's a shortcut.

    Yes there is a shortcut.
On pre-Lion Macs Command-D worked for everything.
From Lion and newer Command-Delete works with Apple programs such as TextEdit and Command-D works with other programs such as MS Word.
On some keyboards the Delete key may be labelled Backspace.

  • Microsoft Word on Leopard

Hello there, I had a question. When I bought my MacBook I also bought the teacher and student edition of Microsoft Word. When I put Leopard onto my Mac will Word still work? Will I need to use another activation code? Any insight would help thanks!
P.S. I am planning on a Archive and Install, would this be the best course of action? Thanks!

I have installed Leopard on all three of my machines. I am running Microsoft office 2004 for Mac Student/Teacher edition. I also run a snap server for all three machines. When saving word files locally to the desktop/hard drive, the save functionality works normally. However, when opening a word file off of the server, making changes, and then attempting to save, I get an error message saying: "Word cannot complete the operation because too many files are open. (document name appears in parenthesis here)." Word then creates a "work_file" of the document on the server.
I had this problem on 10.4.11 and the work around was to drag the server to the trash and then reconnect. I've tried this since installing Leopard and it doesn't fix the problem. Any solutions out there?

  • Missing footer from my Microsoft Word Template in RoboHelp 9

I'm using RoboHelp 9.0.2.271.  I have to show two different footers:  one for WebHelp and one for printed docs (with different content).  I do not use footers per topic.  I use a master page for the WebHelp that includes a footer.  I tried using a Microsoft Word template for the printed docs by adding a footer to the template.  However, when it generate the Word doc from RoboHelp 9, the footer is missing.  I've seen posts for previous versions that RoboHelp ignores the headers and footers in the template.  Is that still true in RoboHelp 9?  If so, I'll just add the footer after the fact to the Word doc, but it would be nice if the footer would persist.
    Thanks.
    Gina

Hey, welcome back. Long time since we heard from you.
Still true. See Printed Documentation on my site for the full story.

  • I do not get a readable or editable PDF file that has been converted to Microsoft Word.

In the past I have been able to convert PDF files to MicroSoft Word, and Edit and Save the Documents. Now, the converted files are unreadable and uneditable. How do I correct this problem?

    Thanks for the email, Stacy!
I don't have an old PDF file that I converted to MicroSoft Word, however the new file that I am trying to convert and edit is the same kind of file that I've converted and edited before; An Invoice from the same Company. Is there a possibility that a download, MicroSoft Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office System, onto MicroSoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 computer might be causing the problem? Should I download to (.doc) or (.docx)? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

    Hi Joseph,
    I'd like to assist!
Have you tried converting one of your old PDF's that have worked in the past to see if it still works?
Are these files scanned to PDF files?
You may want to try utilizing the OCR solution.
Let me know if that works.
Looking forward to hearing back from you!
    Kind regards, Stacy

  • Editing a document imported into Microsoft Word

Anyone know if there's a way to edit a scanned document that is imported into Microsoft Word? When I scan it it saves as either a JPEG file or PDF.
    Thanks!

I've got a feeling that he means editing a textual document that was scanned in. In that case, OCR software would be needed. I'm not familiar with any on the Mac side, but I know Omnisoft works pretty well on the Windows side.

  • App for editing microsoft word documents

I am a PhD student in the area of engineering sciences and I frequently need to write journal articles which are mathematically involved. I am just wondering if there are any word editing apps on iPad which can recognize mathtype equations? I purchased documents to go and it is not very useful to me.. And also, I would like to be able to see .emf type pictures embedded within my word document.. I would also like to accept/reject changes made by others on my documents.. all these, documents to go is not able to do, and this is a real frustration.. anybody know any remedies or apps that can do just what I need? I need the app to be as close to microsoft word as possible..
    Joseph

I work on word and xl files daily. for documents, Pages is fine. It does not do everything Word does, but remember, this is a portable streamed down machine.
i also use docs 2 go from data viz. Its also fine, but for word applications, i usually end up in pages. It just works better for me. docs 2 go is good for me for transferring a set of documents without needing to sync or use i tunes.
For spreadsheets, you can view and do light edits in Numbers, and the dataviz is also functional, but i want to tell you that heavy duty spreadsheet work on an i pad is just not a real fun experience. It will work, but you will be a lot happeir in that world with a larger screen, a mosue, and a real keyboard. The mechanics of moving around a sheet and making cell corrections, especially to formulas, is just a little clunky.
lastly, if you are going to try heavy duty stuff, an external keyboard is a nice thing to have along. the existence of the arrow keys, to me, really help in navigation.
