Hi BarberColman,
As far as I know, only.Net applications(such as WinForm developed in C#,VB) has such an option, native applications(such as program developed with MFC, win32) has no direct support for sign, so such projects do not have a security tab.
The C++ project and Setup Project are both native applications, they do not need .Net framework to run, so you cannot find a security tab on the properties of them.
You can take a look at this blog about CLR and .Net security.

• Where is the "Security" tab?

On an older cruzer micro 8 GB device, if I rt click and show properties, there is a security tab, which I can use to limit the number of people who have access to the data on the device. On a recently purchased Cruzer Glide USB flash drive, there is no security tab. I am using Windows 7. Can I get it back? I have sensitive data on the drives , and I do not want any person who logs in while I am away from the computer to gain access. The "sharing" tab just does not seem to do the job.

Ed said:I agree but I insert & extract my USB drives all the time without doing that, what am I missing?Don't you "Eject" them 1st? Error msg comes us saying close all programs & windows. The security tab you are referring to, if I understand this correctly, is a part of drives formatted with NTFS, rather than the standard exFAT or FAT32 formats and in Windows 7 you only have access to the tab from Safe Mode. Thanks for the info regarding "Safe Mode" I will look into that. I will have to also look into the formats on the drives in question. If they are different, that would explain why one has the tab and the others don't.

• Where did the Secure Site Icon go ?

I know the status bar was removed and an and on bar replaces it but
Where did the Secure Site Icon go ? Will not use FF without it !
I cant find anything about it. ( FF 40b7 ) How do I get it back ?
Not so little things like this will hurt FF. And YES I understand this is beta but come on guys/gals this is IMPORTANT !
I probably just missed something stupid but I could use some help please.

Every financial institution (bank, credit union,...), every news outlet (print/TV/Radio/blog) reaches out to millions of elderdly folks and other non-geeks and tells them to run away as soon as they dont see a Key or Lock on a secured page (or maybe so-called secured page from what I get you are trying to push through).
This is a major Change Management disaster waiting to happen... Not just for Firefox but for every web site using secure transactions. Countless organisations are going to get calls from users telling them, "Your site is not secured, Oprah and CNN told me so".
Go for color scheme or other visual indicator to warn of security level, but absolutely dont lose the icon !

• Under "preferences" and the "security" tab, I don't know understand what the first 3 options mean. I checked all three and now my browsing is greatly hindered.

in preferences under the security tab, I do not understand what the first three options mean. I checked all three, and now my browsing is greatly hindered.
== I checked the first three options

Hello lea,
this is what those mean:
Warn me when sites try to install add-ons :
With [[Customizing Firefox with add-ons|Add-ons]] you can enhance Firefox's experience. However, some add-ons can be malicious so that's why Firefox warns you before installing them by default.
Block reported attack sites :
Attack sites are those sites that can install malware on your computer. Normally, Firefox blocks that. The same goes for
Block reported web forgeries , where Phishing sites are being blocked. See [[How the phishing and malware protection in Firefox works]].
Also, those information can be found in the [[Options window - Security panel]] KB article.

• Secured WCF Service Visual Studio Template

I'm looking for a WCF template that has WSSecurity features already added to it. Does such a template exist?
Thanks!

Hi Andrew Greenwright,
It will be better if you can tell us what Visual Studio version that you are using and which WSSecurity features that you want to implement. For example we can use the WCF Security Token Service and Claims-Aware WCF Service template in Visual Studio 2010:
In Visual Studio 2012, we can download the
Identity and Access Tool to enable
Windows Identity Foundation (WIF) on WCF Services for security.
In Visual Studio 2013, the
Windows Identity Foundation (WIF) has been fully integrated into the .NET Framework 4.5.

• Can you help me with problems from latest update of Safari and ITunes. I can no longer delete cookies as I once did, because the security tab no longer displays the show cookies option. Can anyone please help?

I can no longer show or delete cookies from my MacBook Pro, since installing the latest update of Safari and Itunes.. Previously, I went to the security tab and clicked on the show cookies option, then opted to delete.. That option has now diappeared and a completely different security tab appears. The tab does not show a cookies option anywhere.
Also, I can no longer see a list of my software applications without opening system profiler.
Sure would appreciate your help. Thanks.

Safari's cookies is broken, either intentionally or it's a bug.
You can search the forums for
safari cookies lion
and turn up plenty of threads.
If you need control over your browser cookies and other aspects of your web browser, I suggest you install Firefox.

• Can't open the security tab in options

When I click on tools, options, and then the security tab, it does not open the security options. Every other tab works, just not security. The screen stays on whatever option I am on, and does not change to show me security.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.
''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.''
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
* You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running.
''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.
• Where is the photo tab in itunes? it doesn't appear in the itunes sidebar

where is the photo tab in itunes? it doesn't appear in the itunes sidebar, I am trying to remove photos from my ipad by restricting them from appearing after synch.

cjmuth wrote:
I was struggling with this too - but seem to have found the issue. It appears the photo synch option in iTunes isn't available unless the photos are out of synch.
This is incorrect.
The Photos tab is always available when you have your iDevice connected.
First open iPhoto, move the photos you want to get rid of to the trash, then close iPhoto.
No one seems to want to delete the photos from iPhoto/computer.
They just don’t want them to sync to the iPad.

Firefox is not remembering passwords for sites that i visit regularly. Ihave checked the box "remember passwords for sites" in the security tab under tools, but the passwords are not being remembered when I return to the sites. I am running v 3.6.18

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Private+Browsing
* In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

• Where is the summary tab? Please be very explicit

Where is the summary tab? Please be very explicit

Some of these smart arse answers ignore the fact that often there is no Device option in the sidebar or even a Summary button when a fault occurs.
It isn't a question of not being able to follow simple instructions, it's a design flaw. Having spent many years in the Windows world I came to Apple to get away from this sort of hassle. In every other respect it was the right decision and I'm now a huge fan but the syncing of devices remains poor.
I use an iPad and iMac, both with the latest software, but it's a recurring issue that iTunes suddenly stops recognising the iPad. Apple needs to address this because users don't want to have to become techies to go about day to day activities.
The original question here wasn't at all unreasonable but some of the responses are unhelpfull and arrogant.

• Where is the devices tab?

Where is the devices tab as stated in Set Up HP Connected?

Masher,
Welcome to the HP Forum.
After you have set up HP Connected, and signed into that account, the Devices is the last Tab on the right.
Example:
Click the Kudos Thumbs-Up!
It is a nice way to say “Thank You" for the help.
Although I strive to reflect HP's best practices, I do not work for HP.
