Eclipse 'ESB' Designer

All,
In the same way that there is a BPEL Designer plug-in for Eclipse - does anyone know of any plans to create a Oracle ESBDesigner plug-in for Eclipse? (or is there one already available that I'm unaware of?)

We will decide on this after we have delivered the 3rd party adapters and application server support for ESB later this year which btw is a much higher priority. To give you some insight, I easily get 100 times more requests for 3rd party Adapter/AS support than Eclipse so priorities drive the resource commitments to these various certifications.

Eclipse BPEL Designer with Oracle BPEL Process Manager

Gurus,
I am tryting to develop a BPEL 2 process using Eclipse Helios BPEL Designer (v0.5).
Request your help with a problem that I am facing, which is as follows:
I am trying to create a Partner Link (PL) in my BPEL process, using the Partner Link Type (PLT) provided by TaskService (for user interactions) in BPEL Process Manager 11g integration services.
However, the PLT is not recognized by Eclipse BPEL Designer. The Port Types in the WSDL show up but not the PLTs.
I noticed that the PLT namespace being used in the TaskService WSDL is BPEL v1 namespace (namely, http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/05/partner-link/). I am able to work with PLTs from WSDLs with BPEL v2 namespce (namely, http://docs.oasis-open.org/wsbpel/2.0/plnktype)
Is there anyway I can work with v1 PLTs using Eclipse BPEL 2 Process?

Hi,
I believe the Eclipse BPEL Designer is not a supported tool to create SOA composites. I suggest using Oracle JDeveloper 11g as it is a supported tool for development and is Oracle's go-forward IDE strategy.

JDeveloper Oracle ESB Designer calling SOAP with SSL

Not sure what documentation you have read but JDev does not get installed as part of the 10.1.3.1. It did with the single user license of 10.1.2

Please not that this is 10.1.3.4 and is only certified for SOA Suite 10.1.3.4. If you are using 10.1.3.1 then install JDev of that version. I would recommend upgrading SOA Suite to 10.1.3.4 as 10.1.3.1 is old. Part of the 10.1.3.4 install is installing 10.1.3.1
patch is found here http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101310.html (There is a patch link in the 10.1.3.1 install) Don't be surprised with the size of the patch as it looks like a fresh install. You just install into the same home as your 10.1.3.1 install.

JDeveloper ESB designer view points a server, how to change this to another

Hi,
I have developed a ESB service that deployed and tested on my Local system. Its tested and running well.
However now I have to develop another service that has to be registered under one of the existing service group.
But in the eSB designer view I can see only localsysem specific EBS systems/and service groups. How to change this to point to other server.

In 11g JDEV there is no ESB it has been replaced by Mediator. You create these in a composite.
10g JDEV doesn't require the extensions. What version are you using and what path do you use to look for the ESB?

JDeveloper BPEL/ESB Designer

I'm going spare trying to set up a version of JDeveloper with the BPEL / ESB plugin.
I have found and tried to follow Oracle documentation fo the BPEL Process Manager which claims that JDeveloper with BPEL Designer is installed with BPEL Process Manager (10.1.3.1.0).
Once installed where the documentation claims is the link to run JDeveloper is just a HTML page telling you to download and updated JDeveloper but the BPEL update is not in the list of possible updates.
Google has lead me to go old school and find an old Eclipse Europa install and try an out of date plug in but thats not working either (not that its much good even if it did)
Any help as to where I can actually find what I am looking for or just a pointer to any tool where a newbie can start developing some BPEL would be greatly appreciated.

Issue using the Eclipse report designer with Derby Client JDBC Driver

All I am trying to do is add a table to a blank report using the Crystal reports Eclipse plugin. The database is connected successfully in Eclipse using the Derby Client JDBC Driver, but when I try to drag a table from the database over to my blank report, I get the following error:

Ted,
When I connect to the Derby database in Eclipse using the embedded driver, I can successfully drag and drop tables to create a report. This driver uses the derby.jar file and has no package sealing violations popping up.
 
 
When specifying a driver for a new derby database in Eclipse, the default Derby client driver expects to use the derbyclient.jar driver file. If I only specify this as the driver file this is the error I get:

The error I initially posted resulted after I added the derby.jar as a driver file in addition to the derbyclient.jar, which I don't think is supposed to be done now that I am thinking about it, but I did it because of the class not found exception above. Is this perhaps simply a bug that it is trying to utilize the derby.jar embedded driver when the client driver should be used instead? Or am I doing something wrong myself?

Eclipse BPEl Designer -Changes to bpel.xml not saved

Hi
Is it possible to save changes made to bpel.xml file while using Eclipse? I was trying to set up preference properties in that file.
Any say?

According to our experience, JDEV BPEL Designer encoutered the same problem, you'd better modify the bpel.xml descriptor using external editor such as ultraedit, and save it.
Modification of bpel.xml works fine for the first time, but often rolled back to the former edition once I restart the JDEV designer. Guess it is a bug.

Eclipse BPEL Designer

Hi all.
After succesfully installation of BPEL PM i have installed Eclipse 3.2.0!
Then I installed the eclipese BPEL Designer Plugin.
When I try to craete a new "Oracle BPEL Project" by default, nothing was there.
The only possibility I see is "File -> NEW -> Other -> BPEL 2.0. There is the possibility to select "New BPEL Process File".
But when I try to finish this possibility nothing happens!
Knows anybody what went wrong?

(Eclipse) BPEL Designer-countless temp file issue

For some weird reason, countless temp files are created. I think this happens everytime I use java embedding to update the database...and build the project. Not sure though. And I am unable to delete all these files and they show up only after they have grown.
Any one w/ the same issue???

I have exactly the same problem. Seems like a problem with Oracle BPEL designer. Do you also have nested temp directories?

Visual Swing Designer (for Eclipse)

Hi there
We've developed a client software with JBuilder. Now we want to move
the whole project to eclipse.
Is there a good plugin for Eclipse to design Swing applications? I haven't found one so far.
JBuilder has a Swing designer, and it is very usable for us. Eclipse
hasen't such a Swing designer...
It could also be a external tool, to design our Swing Panels. But it
has to be a visual Designer tool for swing, like the one for VisualStudio and co.
Does anybody know a good Designer WORKING Tool? Maybee as plugin for eclipse?

It would be good to have some feedback about Swing GUI builders for Eclipse, are they usable and good. I heard much good things on Eclipse and am curious to try (althought NetBeans are still very good for me), but I develop Swing application and porting to SWT is unacceptable for me (it is not so advanced as Swing and I need many features that are in Swing only).

I downloaded Oracle BPEL Process Manager, and eclipse 3.2, but I am unable to find the oracle bpel designer for eclipse to download.
I have the tutorial, but I cannot find the designer at the link provided in tutorial.
