ECM - EHP4 - Portal -- WDJ called from a WDA

Hi experts,
I am in SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 and with the new scenarios in WDA deployed in the portal.
In Enterprise Compensation Management, ECM, there is an iview developed in WDA called Planning Overview (the WDA associated is HRECM00_PLANNING_OVERVIEW ).
This iview, when you press the button Review Details, a WDJ with the same name (Review Details) is called. The issue is that I want to copy the standard iview Review Details into a customer iview, but I don´t know how is linked the WDA with the WDJ.
In the WDA HRECM00_PLANNING_OVERVIEW, method LAUNCH_PLANNING_UI, we find the following code:

Do you know where is identified the code, alias, key or whatever with the standar web dynpro java of Review Details?? I mean the part of   Navigate to Compensation Planning iView

I need to call a webservice from a WD Java component.
Now this is an 3rd party external WS (not an ABAP one)
That 3rd partysystem is a web based system with user accounts with password
The userid of portal is the same as the userid of the 3rd party system.
The requirement is that all WS calls from WDJ to the WS should use the individual account of the 3rd party to call the WS function... in other words not use a common service user..
So
portal login = user1/pass123
3rdpartylogin = user1/abc123
When WDJ component invokes WS method during authentication it should use 3rdparty login userid i.e. user1 to invoke method
Have any of you worked on soemthing similar ?

Adobe form called from WDA - Translation Problem

Hi,
I have maintained French translation for the Adobe form using GOTO->Translation inSFP transaction.
when i check in the developement system it is working fine.I have captured the translations in transport request using program
RS_LXE_RECORD_TORDER and moved it to testing system.
The changes are available in SFP but not visible when we execute the WDA HRASR00_PROCESS_EXECUTE as it is called from this application.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Adobe Form called from SAP Portal, not executing interface global init code

Hello!
I have an adobe form called from both R/3 and SAP Portal and I need to show long text dinamically calculated.
The deal is at the SAP Portal execution, as scenario characteristics don't allow string definitions, I'm using 255 characters tables (QISR_TAB_TYPE), that I'm trying to convert inside form interface (Global init code).
The problem is that the interface global init code is being executed when the form is called from R/3, but it is not at SAP Portal.
Does anybody know how to manage this? It's kind of a problem that the BAdi method int_service_request_init doesn't allow types over 255 characters... and if it is not possible to access the form interface code section (maybe there's any way)... i need to find some code section where i can convert tables before the form context is filled!!

RFC call from portal gives dump call_function_open_error

Hi all ,
We have a RFC function module where standarad BAPI BAPI_ENTRY_SHEET_CREATE IS USED
where a dump call_function_open_error occurs when the rfc is called from portal , while on r3 it works fine.
I wanted to know if somebody has faced this kind of problem anytime and what can be the possible solution .
There is no problem with data , there is no problem with RFC where can be the problem ?

Hello Soumyadeep,
The procedure that you are using for calling the portal application is correct.
But if nothing is happening on click of the button then i think you are not running the application in the portal. You are running it as an independent web dynpro application.
If you run your application as an iview in the portal only then you can use this navigateabsolute method.
So run your application as an iview and try to navigate from there only then it will be able to fetch the url from the PCD.
otherwise get the url of that application and create a nonmodal exteranl window and give it the url of the
application.
So to use the code that you have written here you have to upload this application to the portal and then you can call that particular iview when it is called from the portal.
Hope it is clear.

We are having some difficulty in passing control from the non portal pages to
the Portal Pages.
To explain you more elaborately, I am writing down the scenario:
Both our portal and non portal pages reside under the same web application folder.
We have a Portal Page containing one portlet.Clicking on one of the hyperlink
on this portlet page takes us out of the portal environment where we are doing
some processing.
(Why we are going out of the portal environment is because we want to call the
existing pages as it is and our intention is not to make the existing pages portal
enabled to start with).
Somewhere down the journey on the non portal page, there is a requirement to call
the Portal Framework page.
We can call the portal Framework page from the non portal page by hard coding
the URL of the Portal page by writing something like this in href:
http://localhost:7501/application?origin=content.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.portlet.event&pageid=home&portletid=bachome_carsearchlink&wfevent=link.next
But this is not what we want. We want to call the portal page without hard coding
the URL.
If we use portlet tag in non portal page to call the Portal Framework page ( <a
href="<portlet:createWebflowURL event="link.next"/>">Next Page</a>), it throws
us error "Could not find current Portlet State" which is quite understandable,
because portlet state is now lost.
Is there any way we can achieve this .
Any suggestions or ideas?

i think you should use portal:createPortalPageChangeURL (you are effectively changing
your portal page) .
if you want to invoke a specific event in your portlet webflow you can either
write a RefreshControllerIP or use WebflowJSPHelper.createWebflowURL.
bear in mind if you have urls that directly go to an intermediate event in the
portlets webflow you may need

Running BDC in 'A' mode when called from Enterprise portal

HI All,
I have created a RFC which contains a BDC program that update data in SAP R/3. The RFC is called from Enterprise portal. Is it possible to run the rfc in A(all screen display) mode while calling from EP. I have tried it but it gives following 2 errors on EP
cm_no_data_received
rfc_error_communication
what changes i have to do so that i can run the BDC in 'A ' mode when called from Enterprise portal

it would not be related to EP administration issues but something to do with GUI usage. it is loggically fare enough not to give options of viewing the debug screen in as it might concern security issues inway the data could be edited at any point of time. Moreover the screens u see in R3 are ABAP but whereas in EP it is purely based on Java and the calls to SAP is done via JCO thus enabling ABAP functionalities in EP. Maybe for these technical reasons or constraints it wont be possibel to view the screen in EP eventhough u had ext.bp activated

In Decision task, Method defined after execution is not called from Portal

Dear All,
In one of my scenarios, I am using a decision task for approval.
In that after the approval action is taken i am calling a BAPI to update business function.
I have called this BAPI in the Methods ( After Workitem Execution ) .
When I execute this task from the SAP Inbox , the method is getting called successfully and the BAPI is also executed successfully. But when I approve the task from portal this method is not getting called at all, and BAPI also fails.
Actually in the workitem display , I am using the standard FM SWU2_INPLACE_DECISION_PROCESS, will it have any impact when its used from Portal ?
Is there any common place that will be called from both SAP Inbox and Portal after the task execution , so that based on the decision taken , I can process the action at the same place.

Unfortunately, that I know, there is no way to call your BAPI if you're using the standard decision JavaWD. In fact all that WD does is calling a WAPI to read the decision alternatives and then once the user has taken his decision it calls another WAPI to feedback the decision into the backend.
The blog mentionned by Pavan concerns only the secondary methods with amodal call, this is different from the before and after methods which are not supported and cannot help you for calling your BAPI. The so-called "Program exits" are not supported either.
The only alternatives I can see for you are:
- Develop your own decision screen specific for your workflow and integrate there your BAPI call. This would also give you more flexibility to show your agents the information they need to take their decision. This is the way I usually go for now.
- Change your UWL settings so that decisions are processed in a GUI screen instead of the JAVA WD screen. The main disadvantage is that you can do this either for all decision or for none of them. You can't just set that up for the decision in your specific workflow (or at least I haven't found how to do it).
To change the way decisons are processed in UWL you must first change the parameter "List of preview sections to hide" in your UWL iView to add value USERDECISION.
Then you must create a custom XML config file (or modify an existing one) in which you must customize each decision task used in your company individualy. To do that just take a standard config file and find the Item type entry for a standard decision task as an example. All you have to do is to recreate the same entry for each of the decision tasks you actually use and replace the defaultAction="viewDetail" parameter by defaultAction="launchSAPAction".

Not aware of any such FM. But this is what you can do.
Any action form portal usually will call an RFC. In that RFC you can use SET parameter (SAP memory). And in your method you can check for that parameter to determine if it was called from portal.

I need to distinguish whether the application was called from portal (URL iView) or by using an URL outside of portal.
So what I'm looking for is a variable or function that can be used like this:

For example, can I check in the program that there is a SSO2 cookie from the portal?

Custom Columns in ECM MSS Portal screen not updating IT0759

We are implementing ECM - MSS.
We have enhanced IT0759 with custom fields.
Some of those custom fields are display fields on Portal and some of them are input fields on portal. Display fields are working fine because we have specified custom function modules on the Data Provider block to derive their values during runtime.
Whereas, for the input fields, we are unable to update the data back into IT0759 from the Portal screen. Since, Portal is calling the FM HR_ECM_UI_HANDLE_PROCESS_DATA directly and the custom fields are not available on the structure PROC_PLANNED_TAB (refer HRECM00PROC_INFO for fields).
If anyone has suggestions, please provide...

Controlling visibility of Web Dynpro Java iView in portal WDJ page

I should be able to use the WDPortalUtils interface in my Web Dynpro Java DC application to get the name of the iView in my Portal WDJ page using IWDPageService method getVisibleIViews(). My intent is to add another iView to this page and programmatically control the visibility of each iView from my WDJ application.
-> Instructions I have found through my online research indicate I should not have to specify a sharing reference because I am using the WDJ framework, but I tried it anyway. It didn't work.
-> I have added DC epbc.prtapi._api public part to my used DC's, and specified dependency at both Build time and Run time.
-> My portal page template is of type Web Dynpro Proxy Page.
-> My iView template is of type Web Dynpro Proxy iView.
-> The Page Content view of my page shows the 'visible' checkbox set for my iView.
The following statements in the wdDoInit() method of my DC's view controller should return the portal name of my iView:
IWDPageService pageService = (IWDPageService) WDPortalUtils.getService(WDPortalServiceType.PAGE_SERVICE);
String[] iViews = pageService.getVisibleIViews();
I get no compile time errors or runtime errors when I execute these statements.
BUT...
Instead of a String array, I get back a memory space pointer.
Example: [Ljava.lang.String;@664e664e

The last thing I can think of is the method is been called before the portal page has been rendered completely, which may lead to the faulty results.
Is it possible to move the getVisibleIviews() to a method which is called later in the phase (for instance, at the bottom of wdDoModify or wdDoPostProcessing) or, even better, in an onAction event handler when a button is clicked?
If this doesn't work I'm afraid I'm running out of options and i would file an OSS message with SAP

RFC Call from ABAP (R3) to Webdynpro EP

Hi experts,
I have a requirement to initiate a call from an ABAP program on R3 to a standard Portal (Webdynpro) API. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I understand that normally Portal (Webdynpro) applications will make the RFC call to ABAP via the established JCO connection. However there's very limited literature elaborating how the call can be made in the other direction i.e. from ABAP R3 to Portal

Typically a call is made from a webdynpro program to a SAP ABAP function module. In this case, I'd like to make a call from the SAP ABAP report to the EP method.

Import parameter is empty after an RFC call from BW to JCo

I am calling a Java function (implemented using JCO and deployed on J2EE stack of the Portal box) from within a user-exit in BW (on a separate box) using RFC. The code in BW looks like:

The following are working/setup correctly:
1. RFC destination ACF2PROXY, in BW using transaction SM59;
2. Java function 'Z_BW_VALIDATE_PROXY' , as the server log on the Portal(J2EE) shows the correct IMPORT and EXPORT parameters after processing a call from BW;
The data types of the parameters in the function call above matches with those of the formal parameters in Java function where they are defined using JCO data types (export parameter is defined at CHAR 1 at both places).
The problem is that I am not getting any value back in the IMPORT parameter 'lv_result'. I am expecting either '0' or '1' which is populated correctly in the Java function.
Any insight is appreciated.

The following is the code of the method in the class that inherits from JCO.Server. In this method the export parameter ERESULT is set with the value of variable 'result'. I thought it may be helpful to reporduce it here.
