ECM - Web dynpro changes to Saslary Data screen do not refelect

Hi,
We want to modify the compensationprofiles_salarydata iView. This iView is trigtgered when the hyperlink on the employee name is cicked on the compensation screens. We have done the required modifications like, deleting ( making visibility to NONE) the non-essentail fields like ltes say all pay scale / pay grade fields.. But this does not get refleted in the Web applications.
To make this work we have deleted all the fields from the VAC ( Visual applicaiton component ) and still it does not work. We cannot do personalizatioan as the iView preview does not show any fields but the message " select an employee first ..." kind of message
any ideas if any one has encountered this issue earlier

Create a context attribute of Visibility type and assign it to the UI Element which you want to hide.....then in the Implementation Tab -> wdDoModifyView() method set the context attribute created earlier to invisible....

Skills Profile - Enhance Web DynPro to handle Effective Date

We are working with the ESS BP on ECC 6.0 and have a requirement to enter an Effectivity Date for the start of a qualification. The trouble is that the existing function for updating the qualification profile (XSS_SKL_APPLY_QUALI_PROFILE) does not allow for a beginning date to be passed in. Instead it uses the current date (Sy-Datum) which is set on initialization of the SkillsApplication (via FM XSS_SKL_INITIALIZE_DATA). I have tried to enhance the structure for the qualification profile (structure RHXSS_SKL_EMPLOYEE) but it is marked as Can Not be Enhanced by SAP.
Does anyone have any thoughts on a good way to add this functionality? I'd hate to throw away all of SAP's work with the SkillsApplication and write one from scratch just for this small change, but it's looking like that might be my only option.

The following describes the changes required for adding the effectivity date to the Standard Skills Profile Web Dynpro Java screen.
ABAP Changes
1. Get modification keys for hte following structures and change the enhancement category of the strucures to "Can Be Enhanced Deep".
     RHXSS_SKL_EMPLOYEE
     RHXSS_SKL_PROF_UPD
     RHXSS_SKL_QUALIPROFILE
2. Add appends to each of the structures in step 1 for feidl ZEFFDATE
     RHXSS_SKL_EMPLOYEE - ZZEFFDATE type BEGDATUM
     RHXSS_SKL_PROF_UPD - ZZEFFDATE type String
     RHXSS_SKL_QUALIPROFILE - ZZEFFDATE type BEGDATUM
3. Enhance the following function modules for setting/getting the values of ZZEFFDATE

     XSS_SKL_CONFIRMATION_DATA

Open and close a PO in web dynpro in SRM 7.0 screen .

Hi All ,
I am creating a PO in SRM 7.0 by using excel upload via web dynpro screen .
After the upload , I see that there are some problems with the PO in web dynpro .
For example , when i click on the line item it dumps and there are some other similar problems .
When I save the PO close it and reopen it , the problem goes away . May be the system handles them in some way
So , is there a way in which I can close and reopen the po through coding ?
I know there are buttons at the top that close the PO , but some how I could not get the code for that .
I will really appreciate the help here .

By first instance, i think that problem may be with uploading from excel. because sometimes excel data conversion will not done properly. So due to incorrect values, PO may go into dump.. that is my thought.

Web Dynpro application callable object error: Page Builder Not available

Hi, SDN Fellow.
I created a callable object of Web Dynpro application. The callable object is atatched to an Action, and Action --> Block, and Block --> Process.
I initiate the process in GP Runtime, when it comes to the Action screen the Web Dynpro application atatched to, I got the following error:
The page builder required to display this application UI inside the portal environment is not available.
As aa comparison, another callable object that atatched to a Web Dynpro component (that implement GP interface) is working fine.
Please advise.

When you start your process from GP Runtime, does the actual action/callable object open in a new window?
Have a look at this SAP Note:

Although the error message you are getting is different, but if your callable object opens in a new window, then the problem (in most probability) is the same as mentioned in the SAP Note.
Also, try testing the Web Dynpro callable object in standalone mode. For more information on this, see:

Deploying MDM Web Dynpro Components on NWCE 7.2 - /wdconfig not displayed

Hi all -
I'm trying to deploy the MDM Web Dynpro Components Framework (the goal is to
have NW CE connect to and 'see' the MDM repositories) and according to the URL
http://help.sap.com/saphelpnwmdm71/helpdata/en/4a/8c20a0dc93203be10000000a42189b/frameset.htm,
one of the steps is to run the MDM Web Dynpro Configuration Manager application
(_http://<server>:<port>/mdm/wdconfig). However, I get an error stating the page
wasn't found (example: Error: Requested file /wdconfig does not exist).
Looking further, I see that WD Framework needs to be configured as a pre-req.
I'm in the JSPM and I see that MDM JAVA WD FRAMEWORK 7.1 7.11, MDM JAVA API Library
and MDM Java Connector needs to be deployed (JAVA API and Connector are first).
Under the 'Deployed Components' tab in JSPM, I see :

and install guide for both.

Hi - thanks for the followup.
I have the correct SCAs. I have done the following:
UNDEPLOY both components
Restarted the services
Deployed the JAVA_API first
Restart services
Deployed the Framework
Restarted the services
Yes, even though the docs said I can deploy them in order, I think there may have been
a few hitches that the error logs didn't catch.
Specifically, when I re-deployed the FRAMEWORK 7.1 7.11, there were now 19 components
listed instead of one.
I am able to go to ~mdm/wdconfig now.
However, I get a new message:
"You are not authorized to use MDM Web Dynpro Components Configuration Manager".
Even though I'm the Administrator?
I did see in the docs that I need to create a Project first and that the userID that logs in
should exist in UME and the MDM system.

I am looking into that now. I think I will close this thread and start a new one

BW Hierarachies in Web Dynpro either using BI java SDK or Not

I am working on a requirement to develop a web dynpro Tree for a BW Hierarchy. On This requirement I have following Questions.
1. How can I retrieve Nodes/Hierarchies from BW Hierarchy into the query? Is it Query , Cube or RFC?.
2. What is the standard way to retrieve the Hierarchy onto Web Dynpro?.

we used the following delivered function modules to read, add and delete the nodes:
--ZRSBB_NODES_READ_WITH_FILTER
--BX_FAVOS_ADD_OTHERS
--BX_FAVOS_DELETE_NODE
We created some wrapper function modules to call these above delivered fm's.

Web Dynpro ABAP ALV On Data check

Hi
If i push the check button and i find an error in my on data check event and send an error message l_message_manager->REPORT_ATTRIBUTE_ERROR_MESSAGE. It will not check again when i am pushing of the check button again, i guess because no data has been changed. But if no data has been changed, the user will not have cleared the error for sure.
Now as i write this i have an idea for an work around.
But anyway. It seams to me that others should have faced this problem and i believe i am doing something wrong. I have tried to set the value again, but this will not trigger an change.
So what i will try next is to save my error messages and just clear them when the data_check is done again. (I am not sure how to do this at the moment, but i will see.)
Still does anybody know a better way, or how it's meant to be done?

my solution is:
on the data check event i save the changes to tables in my class.
i have put an own check button in the alv, which is realy checking the data.
the save button is then using my tables to do the actual changes to the dso.

I have Firefox 5 now, in the admin section of my web site when I edit a change in the data it does not make the change on my data file. There was no problem in my previous version.

How can I return to a previous version that did not have problem? On Safari on my lap top Mac, I do not have this problem. We tried this on another Windows computer with a 3.5 or 3.6 Firefox version and there was no problem.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site. Note: this is likely to log you out, so finish up whatever you are working on first.

Check Your internet Explorer connection settings Internet Option->Connection->LAN settings.
Try playing around with it. We had the same problem in the past.

I need to insert a new row into an alv table that shall be editable (data to be edited in the table, where
a) the other rows of the table, that already exist must not be editable
b) some columns of the new row are to be initialized with values when creating new row
can you help here?

to a) all I found is the possibility to make columns editable, if I wanted to edit new inserted fields directly in the table. This would give the possibility to also edit the rows that are already there and where the data should not be modified...
to b) I tried with a propriarity button in wddoinit. DATA lr_btn_new TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_fe_button.
DATA lr_fct_new TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_function.
CREATE OBJECT lr_btn_new.
lr_btn_new->set_text( 'Request New').

Inserting new row is very simple,just modify your internal table which is attached to the ALV table in the onFunction Event handler method like.
data: wa_tab type wd_this->elem_flights. "work area is of type context node(structure),now this is empty

navigate from <CONTEXT> to <FLIGHTS> via lead selection

IMPORTING
TABLE = lt_flights.
Modify the internal table from workarea.
describe table lt_flights lines v_lines.
modify lt_flights from ls_flights index v_lines. This is to add empty row at the last in the table
Now bind the internal table to context node.

Adobe Flash Islands + Web Dynpro Java - CE 7.1 EHP1

Hi All,
I am currently working on flash islands in web dynpro java(CE 7.1 EHP1 Trail version). i have done some sample projects in Flex Builder and using the complied(Flex Complier 2.0) SWF file, i was able to do data transfer between web dynpro java and Flex component. every thing works fine till this but if i complie the flex project using Flex Complier 3.0, i am able to see the Flex component rendered in web dynpro java, but data transfer dosent work.
i have checked few thread in SDN and came to know to use WDFlashIsland30.SWC library to complie using FLex Builder 3.0.
i got this library and complie the Flex Component using Flex Complier 3.0 and placed this WDFlashIsland30.SWC in server also but the problem exists .... the complied Flex Component is getting reddered in web dynpro java but the data transfer is not happening ???
what could be problem ???
1. Is it enough to place the WDIslandLibrary30.swc libraby in CE 7.1 EHP1 version for data communication between Flex and Web Dynpro Java if so what could be the problem ?
2. Or do i need update the Server ???

HI,
your issue is completely independent from the server, it's a pure client problem. In general Web Dynpro Java does not care which Flex version you used to compile, as long as you used the right library.
If you did not change anything else it should work. Are you sure you replaced the used library and changed the source-code-compliance before recompiling?

Map context node web dynpro to context DATA of interface controller ALV

Hi Experts,
I have started creating simple ALV by following the example in the below mentioned link.

I have completed 95% development but stuck with last bit of
Set data to ALV for display (via reverse context mapping).
When Click on the Controller Usage button. The component controller of your Web Dynpro component DOES NOT appears on the right side of the screen.
Therefore I can not Map context node NODE_FLIGHTTAB of your Web Dynpro component to context DATA of the interface controller of the ALV component.
Could you please shed me light on this.

Hi Chandra,
You need to add component controller first. Just go to the property tab of interface controller of the alv component and click on create button and then add the component controller. After that you'll be able to see the node in the context tab.

Exchanging data between a Web Dynpro application and SAP Web Shop

I'll try to keep this as clear as possible:
1) We have the SAP Internet Sales system running, which has a series of Business Object classes and corresponding Backend Layer objects that can return data from several sources.
2) We are able to create our own Backend Layer objects that would return data from a component called IPC, which is a Java component.
3) I would like a Web Dynpro application to retrieve data from this backend layer object, but I am not experienced enough with Java to know if what I want to do is possible. I don't think that I can use JCo, because I am trying to get a Java component (class?) in Web Dynpro to access a Java class remotely.
4) I think I am asking is this: is there a way for a Java to Java connection to be created, much like Web Dynpro can use JCo to connect Java to ABAP systems?
If this is a glaringly obvious question to Java programmers, my apologies!

Developer Studio 7.2 in CE 7.2 Trial -- Java Web dynpro screens very differ

Anybody got a good tutorial on creating a simple Java Web dynpro using the supplied rel 7.2 (note please NOT 7.1) release of the Developer studio that comes with CE 7.2 trial.
Even following the supplied tutorial the screens are DIFFERENT - the tutorial seems to be more like the screens from the 7.1 Version.
For instabce you don't get any Root UIElement container(transparent container) witha default Textview and the WINDOWS seem to be inconsistent with what the tutorial says -- the screens have a lot more functionality -- which might be good but doesn't help when trying to follow the tutorial from the WELCOME home page.
I suspect that the tutorial was developed on the earlier release and hasn't been fully tested on rel 7.2

But thing are very similart but more enhancement , and look and feel ust spend some time with view you will get idea about new stuff.
