EDI Question (Count EDI Segements)

Hi,
I want to map the field D_96 under the EDI Segment SE and I was wandering if how to do that?
The description of the field is: Total number of segments included in transaction set.
So is there a way that I can load the result mapping in a Java function so that I can count the number of segments?
I know that I could add a counter (using user-defined function) for each segment that I'm writing but I was just wandering if there would be an easier way of doing it.

Hi Yves,
i don't think, that it is possible in a Java function within a message mapping, but you can do it by creating a java mapping from the result of the message mapping to the same structure. Then you can count the nodes and add just the value to D_96.
In your Interface mapping you will just need to add the additional java mapping after your message mapping.

Question Count Error

I'm reusing a template which inlcudes questions. When I
add/delete questions from the template, for example the question
count of five (5) is correct when editing the file, however, when I
export it, (SWF) the question count starts at seven (7) vice one
(1). Anyone encountered this?

Yes, this question could easily fall into a FAQ category.
Check your movie for Click Boxes. Each Click box typically
has coring enabled as a default. Edit the properties, click the
Reporting tab and turn off scoring.

Dumb Question: Count of Rows Returned?

I am using a dbcontrol to get rows from the database. I am using the netui-repeater to display the results. The repeater datasource is "request.results".
My question is how do I get the total number of records returned from the query?
I know this is should be a simple thing, but I have been unable to get the number.

Question: Counting certain pixels

Hi
I'm doing a research about copper associated hepatitis in dogs. Now we are trying to set up a new method of diagnosis. The principle is to measure the amount of area that contains copper on a picture of liver tissue as a percentage. The tissue is stained with a chemical which results in a good contrast between copper and no-copper areas.
My question:
Does anybody know some way to count the amount of pixels(or the percentage of area) that exceeds my certain threshold of RGB colors?

quick and easy method:
(1) set the color picker to point sample
(2) select the magic wand tool, chose a useful tolerance level for your purposes, deselect both anti-alia and contiguous
(2) zoom into the picture
(3) click on a "copper pixel"
(4) click on histogram panel
result: see screenshot. In my example the result would be 37646 pixels.
(don't forget to click on the exclamation mark, otherwise values are rough estimates only)
However I don't think the mere pixel count is very helpful scientifically as it may depend on how dark those pixels are vs. the size of the area, and lots of other factors right?

Newby question: counting redelivering trials

I use jms with MDB. I send messages successful to a queue and the MDB gets them. I put the message back
to the queue if proccessing message did not succeed.
My problem is, that I have to know how many times the
message has been put to queue again, because this action should be done only ten times. The Message objects given to onMessage are readOnly - that I know.
My question: is there a way to count the retries without creating a new Message and putting this new one(with an increased counter) to queue instead of
original one? If mentioned idea is the only one please tell me too.

I'm not quite sure, if I understood you right. Do you mean that you have to send same message again and again in the case that reciver won't get the message?
You can use persistent messages that will stay in db if receiver is not present.
QueueSender sender = ... //create sender
sender.setDeliveryMode(DeliveryMode.PERSISTENT);Second quess: Your receiver is processing some task and if it fails, you want to send message again?
Possible solution: use request-reply functionality included in poin-to-point domain. Then your sender or requestor will block until receiver will send reply back. Your sender can read the reply and if reply contains an error message, send message again and stop sending after ten times.

Presentation shows too many questions in Question count - Progress Indicator

I just downloaded Captivate 7 and made a template for my presentation. I then imported some Powerpoint slides into the presentation after creating a project from the template. That all worked fine, but the template and the project list 11 questions while I actually only have 2 question slide and the results slide in the template and in the presentation. Just wondering why that is and if there is a way to fix that.
I do notice that I have 6 master slides also, 1 for content and 5 for question types (MCQ/T-F/etc., Matching, Hot Spot, Likert and Result.
Any pointers on that.
Can't wait to test out the HTML5 features and the LMS reporting features.

Could you check Advanced Interaction (F9)? I think you have some scored objects besides the Questions. All interactive objects can be scored: click boxes, (shape) buttons, Text Entry Boxes. That view is linked with the Properties panel, if you select such a scored object, you can change its properties in the Properties panel, look for the Reporting accordion.
Forgot to answer about the master slides. No way to escape from those 6 slides, the minimum (Blank theme has that minimum). It is one of the reasons why I don't like those damned themes. You can add master slides, you can use the main master slide for objects/background that you want to have on different child master slides, but the Question slides/Score slide always will use their dedicated master slides.
In many cases Themes can replace templates because they also have the object styles and skin editor included (that part of themes I like a lot). Only if you want real placeholders, and perhaps variables, advanced actions you'll need a real template.

If you know the primary email linked to the account but do not have access to it or the answers to the security questions, then the next best thing to do is call Apple at 800-275-2273 and ask for Account Security. They will ask you for two pieces of information from the account in order to unlock it. The options are usually the security questions (each question counts as one piece), the credit card linked to the account, and either a device serial number or device verification code that they will send you.
After this verification is complete they can send the reset link for your password to any email you choose. Please be aware that if they verify you with something other than two security questions, there is a 24 hour wait before the email arrives.

Incorrect number of questions being displayed

I have created a set of 12 question in Captivate 4 (Windows XP), and the "number of questions" indicated both on the final "summary" slide and also the slide counter (slide x of y) both say there are 13 questions yet there are only 12 questions.
There are only 12 questions...anyone have any ideas why this is and how to fix it?

Quiz slides showing incorrect number of questions

Morning everyone...
I have courses that I have uploaded to our LMS. These have
2-3 questions at the end of each course. The problem is that when
taking the course and you get to the quiz questions; it will say
question 1 of 5 yet there are only two quiz questions. Why is this
happening? Is there a way to fix?

Easy fix. You probably have Click Box objects on prior slides
that are being factored in. Try tapping your F9 key to open the
Advanced Interaction dialog. Then you can turn off the scoring for
the Click Boxes and make that Question count accurate.

First you need to extract all the question from database..
Then put all of those questions in any of collection object...
Then set this collection object in request as attribute..
Keep this object in request till all question are not shown(you can eliminate questions after the have been asked)..

Quizzing Questions

I'm new to Captivate and these boards. I saw new,
but I'm really self taught. I took an Element K course, and we've
also purchased the Iconlogic book.
But I still have a few questions that I can't find the
answers to, and here's one of them: I want to put a question at the
end of each "concept" of my training. But I don't want the Question
blank of blank to show up, and I don't want it to be part of the
score that goes to the LMS. I think I can figure out the score to
LMS part; I think the answer is I just name the quiz differently.
But I can't get the Question X out of X to go away. I"ll take any
help!

Hi eetten and welcome to the forums!
Unfortunately, the only way to mix scored and non-scored
questions in a single file is to... split the project into two
files.
Captivate expects a quiz to consist only of scored
interactions, so you can't even include a "Continue" button without
throwing off the total question count. It's very problematic for
scoring summary purposes.
I'd suggest putting in a feature request to add an "exclude
from scoring" option to future versions of Captivate, which you can
do here:

IDOC - add new field in in existing segment definition

For segement type say Z1MARA1 if we need to add a new field in segement definition say Z2MARA1 SAP is not allowing to add new field if we tried to cancelled the realsed 30E it not allowing since the SAP realease which we are working is 640 so only we can create new segement defination with version Z2MARA1001 with new field added but issues is that the partner Profile for outbound parameters the Segment release in IDOc Type is 31I so if we change this segment release in IDOC type to new version ie., 640 then it will pick all the new segement associated with it due to which the the format in which we pass the segements to third party will change so is there any way to use the existing segment definition which is release 30E & add addition field to it. Only one way I found is that when i try to cancel the released message is trigger so in the debug if I make it success it allows to add new field in existing segment definition but which is wrong way of doing is there any way we can used same segment definition & add new field without adding new version & new released.

I know that we can add new segement with new version my question is existing segement definition can we add a new filed because in partner profile we specified release 31i so even we create new segement type then version will be 640 so it will not pick the latest version.

How to invisible perticular row of a table column?

I want to set invisible or blank in perticular row of table column.
I have a table, contains 2 row in that , one of the column contains button. If i clik on this button(ex: 1st row button ) it add new row with different data, it contains button also in that column, but i want to invisible that button . I tried like this

Need help with using graphics in swing components

Hi. I'm new to Java and trying to learn it while also developing an application for class this semester. I've been following online tutorials for about 2 months now, though, and so I'm not sure my question counts as a "new to Java" question any more as the code is quite long.
Here is the basic problem. I started coding the application as a basic awt Applet (starting at "Hello World") and about a month in realized that Swing components offer better buttons, panels, layouts, etc. So I converted the application, called BsfAp, to a new JApplet and started adding JPanels and JComponents with layout managers. My problem is, none of the buffered graphics run in any kind of JPanel, only the buttons do. I assume the buffered graphics are written straight to the JApplet top level container instead but I'm not entirely sure.
So as to not inundate the forum with code, the JApplet runs online at:

What I would like to do is this - take everything in the GUI left of the tabbed button pane and put it into a JScrollPane so that I can use a larger grid size with map display I can scroll around. The grid size I would like to use is more like 700x1000 pixels, but I only want to display about 400x400 pixels of it at a time in the JScrollPane. Then I could also move this JScrollPane around with layout manager. I think this is possible, but I don't know how to do it.
I'm sure the code is not organized or optimized appropriately to those of you who use Java every day, but again I'm trying to learn it. ;-)

Couple of recs:
* Don't override paint and paint directly on the JApplet. Paint on a JPanel and override paintComponent.
* The simplest way to display a graphic is to put an image into an ImageIcon and show this in a JLabel. This can then easily go inside of the JScrollPane.
* You can also create a graphics JPanel that overrides the paintComponent, draw the image in that and show that inside of the JScrollPane.
* don't call paint() directly. Call repaint if you want the graphic to repaint.
