EDI X12 850 : Error processing edi file

I am getting following error:
Segment ISA(Interchange Control Header) at guideline position (N/A) is missing. This segment's standard option is Mandatory.{br}{br}This segment was expected after:{br}{tab}Segment Count: 0{br}{tab}Character: 24777
It appears to be delimater related error but when I look at the logs and compare configruation with datafile all delimater seems to be ok.
Here is how ISA looks in file:

Hello,
Can you please do the following.
1. validate your transaction set of the inbound payload against the transaction set ecs.
2. Make sure the delimiter is configured in the B2B Document Protocol Parameters as per the incoming payload.
Let us know.

  • CMDTUX_CAT:754: ERROR: error processing configuration file

    Hi Tuxedo Experts,
I have compiled and linked sample code tuxedo client and server (simpapp). According to README, the next steps is running tmboot -y command. Does it start the simpserv tuxedo server? If not, how do I start that?
Plus, when I ran this 'tmboot -y' command, I got the error:
    ===========================================
    $ tmboot -y
tmboot: internal error: CMDTUX_CAT:754: ERROR: error processing configuration file
tmboot: internal error: CMDTUX_CAT:1360: ERROR: configuration file not found
    ===========================================
Would you please help me to resolve that.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ahsan Asghar

    Hi Ahsan,
You skipped some steps. One of the first steps is to set the environment variables given in the README. This is normally done by creating a script you can execute in the future, often called setenv.sh. After creating this script and executing like:
    . ./setenv.sh
then you need to edit the sample UBBCONFIG file which for simpapp is called ubbsimple. This file contains the Tuxedo configuration information. You will need to replace the things in <> with ones appropriate for your system. The machine name should be the same as the output of the uname -n command.
Once you've edited the file, it needs to be compiled with the tmloadcf command. Then you should be able to boot and run your application.
    Regards,

  • Console VPN error "Error processing prefs file" every ten seconds

I happened to go into Console on my 10.5.5 Server looking for something else, and saw this sequence of messages repeating every ten seconds in my system.log file:
    Dec 13 23:12:29 myserver vpnd{1668}: Server 'com.apple.ppp.l2tp' starting...
    Dec 13 23:12:29 myserver com.apple.ppp.l2tp{1668}: 2008-12-13 23:12:29 EST Server 'com.apple.ppp.l2tp' starting...
Dec 13 23:12:29 myserver vpnd{1668}: No valid client IP addresses
Dec 13 23:12:29 myserver vpnd{1668}: Error while reading PPP preferences
Dec 13 23:12:29 myserver vpnd{1668}: Error processing prefs file
    Dec 13 23:12:29 myserver com.apple.launchd{1} (com.apple.ppp.l2tp{1668}): Exited with exit code: 2
Dec 13 23:12:29 myserver com.apple.launchd{1} (com.apple.ppp.l2tp): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
Although I did at one point configure VPN, I haven't used it in a while and it's currently turned off in Server Admin. Any idea what's causing this, and more important for the moment, how to get this to stop? It's making reading the system.log rather difficult, and I can't imagine this is the sign of a healthy server...
    Thanks!

    Same error here! ...
Apr 18 00:23:03 macserver com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.ppp.pptp): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds

Apr 18 00:23:03 macserver vpnd[39445]: Error processing prefs file
This occurs every-time the server is rebooted. This is so annoying. I just need to know the path to that file. Any suggestions are welcome.
    Cheers!

    Study SAP

    Hi,
The problem occurs when sender and receiver business system or business service does not have a logical system name.
    ID - Integration Directory
Posting the IDOC'S into SAP R/3 System, sender and receiver business system or business service requires the logical system name. If the business system (Web As ABAP) does not have the logical system name, then add the logical system for business system.
    In technical system browser
If business system type = Web AS ABAP, then add the Logical system in Technical System level and Save.
If business system type = Third-Party, then add the logical system in business system level and Save.
If the business service does not have the logical system name in ID, it needs to be configured as follows.
Check the below screen shot which shows how to add the logical system for business service.
Go to ID and click the Business service -> Services -> Adapter Specific Identifiers. Enter the logical system name and Save.
    Apply and activate.
    Hope this will help you.

  • In my SOA Composite, Can I use file/FTP adapter to get the EDI X12 850

Our requirement is to build a SOA Composite to dump all the details in a EDI X12 850 ( Purchase order ) document in to a database table. In my SOA Composite, Can I use file/FTP adapter to get the EDI X12 850 element details to map them to a base base columns.

Drop the File Adapter to the left lane of the composite i.e., Services lane...
Go to Step 2, give a meaningful name....
Step 3, select "define from operation and schema"
Step 4, select the operation type as "read"
Step 5, select physical path and give the folder path in the "Directory for incoming files" field.,
Step 6, select wildcards and give the expression depending on the file name it would be at run time...
Step 7, select the polling frequency as required....
Step 8, in the URL field, adjacent to that , select "browse for schema file" and select the XSD which you have exported from B2B Editor.
say next and finish, you will be good to go.
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,

  • Processing big EDI files

I am going to work on project where we will get EDI X12 files from customer. We expect weekly file may be 50MB with 100K messages.
In output I should create 10 files batch of 10K each.
Few of vendors will send file with one ST per product ,it means multiple ST segments in file- EDI disassemble component will help here to break it automatically. I can use Assembler pattern in output to combine it.
Few vendors will send only one ST which will have multiple products. Question is how I should break it same was . I mean per product so that can use same assembler pattern to combine and batch?
I want efficient solution for above problem. I mean processing big file should not take longer time. I know if I use assembler pattern (singleton pattern performance might be bottleneck).
If any body already implement such solution then please suggest me better options.

  • Concept Question about EDI and Error Processing

    Hello All,
This is a concept question, I was wondering how others would approach this scenario.
Let's take this scenario. In EDI often the transmission for a purchase order comes in with an invalid material number. Normal error processing is for the EDI team to research the issue (find the correct matnr), edit the idoc and reprocess the Idoc.  I would like to move that type of error processing out of the hands of the EDI folks and into the hands of the business users.
How would they correct the material number? It has to be more intuitive than editing an IDoc, it has to be an easy and intuitive user interface. This process has to also work for many types of EDI transmissions both inbound and outbound.
There would be many ways to handle this: create a report with an editable grid that would change the idoc during input and create the order with the corrections, convert the idoc to xml and use simple transformations, use an xsl report...etc.  You get the point.
How would you approach this?  Before I start the design I want to make sure I've given all the options due consideration...all options, webdynpro, transformations, regex, you name it...all is available, except there is no XI.
Personally I'm leaning towards an editable grid and processing buttons that would post the idoc in background...but I do that type of thing all the time and I may be in a rut and neglecting better design options.
    Thanks for your input,
    Greg

<b>Paul:</b> So it runs the transaction silently in BDC format, until the error occurs, then opens up in dialogue to allow the user to change the invalid material, and then continue on with processing.
This works when the processing function module uses BDC. But even then I think this is possibly nice from user perspective, but a nightmare from auditing perspective. I.e. correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure there's no log indicating that the user changed the material number. Thus for anybody comparing the IDoc contents against the posted document (including change history) there's no trail that shows this change. Of course you can assume that this is what must have happened, but I personally prefer if I can track in the system what happened and have proof for that.
    <b>Reddy:</b>
    <ol>
<li>it can be run daily basis, which should select all idocs which are in status 51 with message number (..related to wrong material number). report output should inlcude :idoc number-wrong mat no- space for new material to be entered by business against wrong 1. And there should be one button for RUN.</li>
<li>After RUN, the material number should be changed to new 1 in segments and idocs should be reprocessed.</li>
<li>repeat the run until business enter right mat num.</li>
    </ol>
Design seems to limited to me (takes care only of one error message). Might work if that's the main pain point and this is the only one the user is dealing with. Otherwise I'd expect pretty soon they start complaining about having to use different tools for the possible errors. I'd keep the report more general, but allow this special form of processing only for a given error message (otherwise it's a normal re-process as triggered for example via BD87).
Also, I assume that when you talk of changing the IDoc you mean that you actually keep an original copy around (like SAP does when you edit an IDoc). Often this is required from an auditing perspective. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to check the material number <em>before</em> trying to process the IDoc to avoid wasting system resources (but maybe I misunderstood the step).
Anyhow, in theory you could also achieve all of this via workflow. You can add custom columns to the work item overview in the inbox, only issue here is that it doesn't scale well (so issues with larger volumes).

  • Processing big edi file

I am trying to process bigger file in biztalk orchestation, my observation is very slow.
I have requirement that will get edi file and I need to convert it in to xml file for ERP. As my requirement is very simple I just create map and generating corresponding output file. I get single EDI file with just one ST so I consume it convert to XML
    and send to ERP.
It works well for smaller file. When I try to test it with bigger file like 50 MB it is very slow like it already more than 20 minutes but still going on.
I am trying it on local box where RAM is 8 GB, production scenario will be different . But still like to check is it normal for such big file?
What are best practice for it? As i have similar file from multiple customer I just create different maps for each and load dynamically  it. That is reason I am using orchestration  as it was easy by assignment shape.
    Any suggestion?

  • Conversion of EDI File format to IDOC format

We have a file in u201C.ediu201D format. We could not process this file with RSEINB00 ( IDoc inbound processing using file ) program.
1-) Could we directly do our process with this u201C.ediu201D file ? Or do we have to convert this u201C.ediu201D file to IDOC format?

If it's EDI format file (Ex: EDIFACT, X12 ...etc), we should convert the file to IDOc file by using mapping in subsystems like Gentran or TLe..etc. Conversion from edi format to idoc format will not be done in SAP.

  • Problem with CRLF in a EDI file....

    Hello,
I receive from my client a EDI file with a charcater in the end of the file, for this, the map generate the error Length limit exceeded - no SEG. delim. found!!!, but if I set "on" in the ingnoreCRLF option on the BICMD of Seebubrger, the map works correctly, I try too with the instruction setIgnoreCRLF("on") in the last segment of the EDI and this works too fine.
But when I deploy the mappings_user.sda with this changes to XI and I receive the file in the BIC Module, the map doesn´t work, generate the same error to the character on the file.
Can comebody help me please with an idea about this problem??.

  • Read incoming EDI File content and FTP file on R/3 server based on value

    Hi,
    We have the below scenario:
The incoming file is received in XI in the below directory:
    /usr/feeders//interfaces/EP1/abc
    The file name is- TCDE.BLQSAM.OCAA2682.C0084031
The file contains some data like below:
    UNBUNOA:3HEXAGON-ABCABC10268002090806:1004+403140015324'
    UNH1CONTRL:2:2:UN:APACS'
    UCI1000284217ABC10268002HEXAGON-ABC7+C00'
Based on this incoming file reference number in line 3 as given (1000284217) for example, a lookup needs to be made in R/3 in a table to determine if the file should be placed in directory A or Directory B in R/3 without any XML conversion.
I have made the scenario and the details are as below:
Created the new Mapping Archive in the IR and import this .jar
Created an Interface mapping for the Control File processing and select the mapping program from the archive
Created a Business Service called  "BSY_ECC6_FI_CENTRAL" and a communication channel called "CCIA_01_RFC_RECEIVER", for the connection to the R/3 system of type RFC and will have to have the connection settings for the R/3 backend with the client which has the data in it for the FM call.
I have the java code that I can forward you for reference.
I am not able to run the scenario successfully.
Plaese advise as to how I can develop this scenario.
    Regards,
    Archana

    Hi Archana,
Based on this incoming file reference number in line 3 as given (1000284217) for example, a lookup needs to be made in R/3 in a table to determine if the file should be placed in directory A or Directory B in R/3 without any XML conversion.
Created the new Mapping Archive in the IR and import this .jar

for the connection to the R/3 system of type RFC and will have to have the connection settings for the R/3 backend with the

What i understand from your Qs is, you want to get the location where the file need to be placed from the table in R/3 system
based on the ref. no mentioned in source EDI file, and the target file should be placed as a flat file format.
You are using RFC lookup to get the details of the location in Java mapping, Once you have the location you can map it to the
element in payload and using varaible substitution you can specify the  target directory.

  • Vat code change, EDI file number finding and EDI file structure chage?

    Hello Gurus
Our client has a plant in Europe, which has a largest supplier. We process electronic invoices to the vendor through a provider OB10 ( private company - invoicing provider ).
In the transfer of the electronic data to the invoice posting, a VAT code is added to the details, that appears to be pulling from a certain Table in the system.
I want to know from which tables this field has pulled up to the Invoice?
In continuation of the process ...I have come across an issue on EDI file structure change. I have provided with the the Idoc numbers of above invoices, from the idoc numbers i need to find out the EDI file number. But when i went to WE02, WE05 with those idoc numbers i couldn't find the EDI file number( Interchange file number ref).
How can i find the EDI file number and i have to suggest the EDI team for changing the file structure in regard to the VAT code updating according to the Plants abroad function.
What are the things i need to suggest them exactly in regard to this?
    Please reply me ASAP...
    Thanks
    Mallik

The table for tax code is T076M - maintainable using T code OBCD.  For EDI file number, execute T Code WE02 - enter IDoc number and execute (F8). In the right window pane, choose select layout -> change layout and pick up the field Interchange file reference. Guess this is what you are looking for.
    OR
Go to transaction WE02 or WE05 enter Idoc number and choose execute. When Idoc data is displayed double click on Control Record in left pane. Choose Details tab. Interchangable file under References.
You can also refer the entries in table EDIDC.
    Reference to interchange file:
This field contains the reference number of the interchange file in which the EDI message was transmitted.

  • Filtering EDI Files in B2B 11g

    Hi Gurus,
We have a requirement that we should not process the EDI files which will have Usage Indicator(ISA15) has 'T' value. Rather we should send the file to some test directory on SOA file system.
Could you please let me know whether we can achieve this in B2B 11g.
    Regards,
    Raghav

    Hi Raghav,
Oracle B2B is not a service bus and hence does not has a functionality of content based routing. Better change your design and have a service bus before B2B to do content based routing.
