Edit next extent size of the Cluster table

Hi Guys
I need to change the next extent size of the a table.
I ran se14 but i am not able to get into edit mode, because there is no button for edit mode.
Reason: Cluster table
Two questions:
1. Why there is no Edit button? Is it because this table doesnot exixt at DB level.
2. How can i change the next extent size for a Cluster table from sql prompt or from brtools if possible.
Information:
I am facing this issue only in DEV, QAS boxes, where as in Production its fine.
Regards
Ricky

Hi,
Cluster Tables doesn't exist in DB, Because of that you can't make changes to extents at DB level.
if you experiencing some space issue. I woud suggest to check the underline Transparent tables and make changes to those.
hope this helps.

  • Limit on the memory/size of the internal table

    Hi,
Is there any limit on the size of internal table....?
we are having some select statements that are fetching huge no. of records into the internal tables...
can some of the records be missed  or is there any limit on the no. of records or size of the internal table...
The code that we are using is logically correct and it is working fine for small inputs but for the large selections, some of the records are getting missed as we are displaying the data from these internal tables only...
We can not debug the code coz for the large inputs, code is taking around 2 to 3 hours of processing
We are using this code in BI in the end routines
We are doing the operation like
    itab1 = itab2
where itab2 contains around 25000 records and itab1 is initial(no entries)
If there is a limit , then how can we increase the size
    Please suggest..
    Thanks

    Hello Tarun
You can limit the number of records selected by your SELECT statement by adding the addition "UP TO n ROWS" to your SELECT statement.
    Example:
SELECT * FROM TABLEXYZ UP TO 5000 ROWS WHERE .........
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks and best regards

  • The size of the target table grows abnormaly

    hi all,
I am curently using OWB (version 9 2.0 4 to feed some tables.
we have created a new database 9.2.0.5 for a new datawarehouse.
I have an issue that I really can not explain about the increase size of the target tables.
I take the exemple of a parameter table that contains 4 fields and only 12 rows.
    CREATE TABLE SSD_DIM_ACT_INS
    ID_ACT_INS INTEGER,
    COD_ACT_INS VARCHAR2(10 BYTE),
    LIB_ACT_INS VARCHAR2(80 BYTE),
    CT_ACT_INS VARCHAR2(10 BYTE)
    TABLESPACE IOW_OIN_DAT
    PCTUSED 0
    PCTFREE 10
    INITRANS 1
    MAXTRANS 255
    STORAGE (
    INITIAL 1M
    MINEXTENTS 1
    MAXEXTENTS 2147483645
    PCTINCREASE 0
    BUFFER_POOL DEFAULT
    LOGGING
    NOCACHE
    NOPARALLEL;
this table is feed by a mapping and I use the update/insert option, which generates a Merge.
first the table is empty, I run the maping and I add 14 lines.
the size of the table is now 5 Mo !!
then I delete 2 lines by sql with TOAD
I run a again the mapping. It updates 12 lines and add 2 lines.
at this point, the size of the table has increased of 2 Mo (1 Mo by line !!)
the size of the table is now 7 Mo !!
I do the same again and I get a 9 Mo table
when I delete 2 lines with a SQL statement and create them manually, the size of the table does not change.
when I create a copy of the table with an insert select sql statement the size becomes equal to 1 Mo which is normal.
Could someone explain me how this can be possible.
is it a problem with the database ? with the configuration of OWB ?
    what should I check ?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi all
We have found the reason of the increasing.
Each mapping has a HINT which is defaulted to PARALLEL APPEND. as I understand it, it is use by OWB to determine if an insert allocates of not new space for a table when it runs and insert.
We have changed each one to PARALLEL NOAPPEND and now, it's correct.

  • How to find Size of the fact table?

    hello all
how do i find out the size of the fact table?
Is the size of the fact table is same as size of the cube.
    pls let meknow
    regards
    balji

    Hello Balaji,
To find out size of fact table
    DB02 ->Detailed anaysis -> Fact table name
It will show you the details.
The size of cube is not exactly equal to the size of fact table, but usually as fact table is much more larger than dimension tables, fact table size will give you a fair idea about cube size.
    Hope it helps.

  • To find the size of the fact table and dimension table

    Hi experts,
Can anyone plz tell me if i want to find size of the fact table and size of the dimension table to find cardinality and line item do we first build statistics then find size by transaction DB02 or any other method we have?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
Please go to Tcode DB02 >Space>Table and Indexes.Give your table name or pattern (like /BIC/F* for gettinf all the Fact tables)
.This will give you sizes of all the table.
Also if you want to get list like TOP 30 Fact tables and Dimension Table. Please use TCode ST14, this will give a desired output with all the required details.

  • SAP Table index size is greater than the size of the actual table

    Hello Experts,
We are resolving an issue related to database performance. The present database size is 9 Terabytes. The analysis of response times through ST03N shows that the db time is 50% of the total response time. We are planning to reorganize the most updated tables (found from DB02old tx).
Here we see that the size of the index for a table is greater than the actual size of the table. Is this possible, if yes then how can we reorganize the index as it does not allow us to reorganize the index using brspace command.
Hope to hear from you soon, and if any additional activities you can suggest to improve the performance of the database will be appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi Zaheer,
online redef may help you (for a little while) , but also check WHY the index became fragmented.
Improper settings can bring the index fragmented again and you have reoccuring reorg needs.
    i.e.
check if PCT_INCREASE >0 if you are using Dictionary Managed Tablespaces or locally managed tablespaces  that uses a "User" allocation policy. Set it to 0 to generate uniform next extents in the online reorg.
    select
                SEGMENT_NAME,
                SEGMENT_TYPE,
                round((NEXT_EXTENT*BLOCKS)/(EXTENTS*BYTES))*(BYTES/BLOCKS),
                PCT_INCREASE
            from
                DBA_SEGMENTS
            where
                OWNER='SAPR3'
            and
                SEGMENT_TYPE in ('INDEX',
                                'TABLE')
            and
                PCT_INCREASE > 0
            and segment_name in ('Yourtable','Yourindex')
In the following cases, it may be worthwhile to rebuild the index:
--> the percentage of the space used is bad - lower than 66%: PCT_USED
--> deleted leaf blocks represent more than 20% of total leaf blocks: DEL_LF_ROWS
--> the height of the tree is bigger than 3: HEIGHT or BLEVEL

    Hi Experts,
I would like to ask about the size limit of internal table?
How many records can I fetch into an internal table?
iam not getting the correct answer, plz any one can tell me pin point answer.
    Thanks,

    hi ,
there is no limit for records to the internal table ,its depends on your server memory available.
internal table is a temporary memory ,so its totally dependent on the memory.

  • TEXT into the Cluster Tables.

A material (eg mat05) is maintained in a material master.
A purchase order text is maintained for that particular,in <b>STXH</b> table. The Text ID,Text Name,Object ID,Spras are stored along with the TDNAME ( the long text ).I know these data are stored into <b>STXH,STXL</b> tables and some cluster tables. Can someone help me informing about the <b>Cluster Tables</b>( Specially on PO text ).

    Hello Rajarshi,
There was a somewhat similar query sometime back which I shall point you to.
    Re: BasicText for a Material
Besides, here's the code which would get you the purchase order texts for a given material -
    parameters: p_matnr type matnr.
data: temp_text type table of tline with header line,
          where_cond(20) type c.
    data : begin of text_id ,
             tdobject(10) value 'MATERIAL',
             tdname(70),
             tdid(4)  ,
             tdspras      value 'E',
           end of text_id.
    start-of-selection.
      concatenate '%'
                  p_matnr
             into where_cond.
      select tdname
             tdid
        from stxl
        into (text_id-tdname , text_id-tdid)
       where relid   = 'TX' and
             tdspras = 'E'  and
             tdname like where_cond.
      import tline = temp_text[]
        from database stxl(TX)
          id text_id.
       write: / sy-subrc.
       loop at temp_text.
         write : / temp_text-tdline.
       endloop.
    ENDSELECT.

  • What are the Cluster tables and pooled tables

pls give some examples for the above table
    Thankyou
    ravi

    Hi
    <b>Pooled Table</b>
Pooled tables are logical tables that must be assigned to a table pool when they are defined. Pooled tables are used to store control data. Several pooled tables can be cominied in a table pool. The data of these pooled tables are then sorted in a common table in the database.
    <b>Cluster Table</b>
Cluster tables are logical tables that must be assigned to a table cluster when they are defined. Cluster tables can be used to strore control data. They can also be used to store temporary data or texts, such as documentation.

  • How to get the data from a cluster table to BW

    Dear All,
I want to extract the data from R/3 to BW by using 2 tables and one Cluster B2.
Actually my report contains some fields from PA2001, PA2002 and one cluster table B2 (Table ZES). Can I create View by using these 3 tables? If it is not possible how can I get the data from the cluster? Can I create generic datasource by using cluster tables directly?
In SE11 Transaction the Cluster (table ZES) is showing invalid table.
I referred some Forums, but no use.
Can any body tell me procedure to get the data from a cluster (table ZES) ?
    Waiting for you results.
    Thanks and regards

    HI Siggi,
    Thank you for your reply..
I am also planning to do FM to get the data. But it is saying that the Cluster table ZES does not exist (ZES is the the standard table, in SE11 also).
How can I use the Fields from the that table.?
What can I do now, can you please explain me about this point.
    Waiting for your reply.

  • How do I retrieve binary cluster data from a file without the presense of the cluster size in the data?

Hey guys,  I'm trying to read a binary data file created by a C++ program that didn't append sizes to the structures that were used when writing out the data.  I know the format of the structures and have created a cluster typedef in LabView.  However the unflatten from string function expects to see additional bytes of data identifying the size of the cluster in the file.   This just plain bites!  I need to retrieve this data and have it formatted correctly without doing it manually for each and every single element.  Please Help!
Message Edited by AndyP123 on 06-04-2008 11:42 AM

Small update.  I have fixed size arrays in the clusters of data in the file and I have been using arrays in my typedefs in LabView and just defining x number of indexes in the arrays and setting them as the default value under Data Operations.  LabView may maintain the default values, but it still treats an array as an unknown size data type.  This is what causes LabView to expect the cluster size to be appended to the file contents during an unflatten.  I can circumvent this in the most simplest of cases by using clusters of the same type of data in LabView to represent a fixed size array in the file.  However, I can't go around using clusters of data to represent fixed size arrays BECAUSE I have several multi-dimentional arrays of data in the file.  To represent that as a cluster I would have to add a single value for every element to such a cluster and make sure they are lined up sequentially according to every dimension of the array.  That gets mighty hairy, mighty fast.
EDIT:  Didn't see that other reply before I went and slapped this in here.  I'll try that trick and let you know how it works.......
