Editing link properties

This is probably an easy question, but here goes.
I'm working with a Latex application that outputs PDFs. However, it has the odd quirk of outputting all URLs in pink and all internal links (cross referencing, table of contents) in red. I would like to modify these so they're a more orthodox blue colour.
I can't modify this at source, but was hoping I could use a script to accomplish this. However, all my searching has been fruitless. Can anyone help?

Is the actual text in pink/red, or is it just the border? If the former,
then the application you use probably changes the color of the running text
itself, which can't be changed with a script. If the latter, you can change
it by setting the borderColor property of the Link object.

    Hi ell_ell_tee,
I just checked it works fine for me. I used this page actually. Have you checked to see if it is just the particular website that you were looking at? It could be an isolated incident.
You could also try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • How to edit hyperlink properties in Acrobat Pro 9?

I'm trying to edit a PDF document (generated from Windows Word) on my Mac with Acrobat Pro 9.
What I want to do is make the borders invisible, because in Mac Preview the hyperlinks appear with ugly boxes around them. Apparently when no borderWidth property is set, Acrobat Reader defaults to a value of 0, but Preview defaults to a value of 1.
I selected Tools > Advanced Editing > Link tool and can see all the hyperlink boxes.
But I can't find a way to edit their properties.
I tried double-clicking on the rectangles, which is what it says to do in the manual, but nothing happens.
I tried control-click on a rectangle and a dialog pops up. I select properties from the dialog, but no properties appear.
Anybody know how to get this to work?
    Thanks,

  • Editing DataSource Properties

    Hi,
I have added connection pool and JDBC resource to the server. While creating the pool I had provided
the properties like username / password / database... Now when I open the properties link , I can't see
these properties ( even after restarting the server).
I want to edit the properties, How to do this , Should I need to recreate the pool .
Is there any way I can register the datascource using the xml file as supported in iAS6.0.
    Thanks,
    Prakash

    Hi Prakash,
I assume you were using the Admin GUI. Did you click the Apply Changes Required link in the upper right
hand side of the window to apply the outstanding JDBC connection pool and resource changes ? Please
refer to the Getting Start Guide on the following link for detailed steps to do all these. The step 6 below
from the Guide gives the reason why need to do the Apply Changes step.
    http://docs.sun.com/source/816-7146-10/ch6-database-setup.html
    6. Click the Finish button to complete the wizard. As a result of completing the JDBC connection pool
wizard, the administrative server recognizes that although changes have been made to the server's
configuration, the changes have not yet been applied to the active configuration. Consequently, several
warning icons are displayed in the administrative console to inform you that pending changes need to
be applied before they take effect.
    Thanks,

  • Advanced edit hyperlink-properties grayed out the first time

advanced edit hyperlink-properties grayed out the first time
    Sub Problem:
When using the advanced edit cursor, right click Is used to select a hyperlink-properties the first time the dialog box pops up it does not have “focus” (not sure that is the right term, but the box is grayed out and will not respond to the keyboard.). It must be mouse clicked to get focus. The second time a link is right clicked to properties the popup responds to the key board and will move to the action tab with ctrl-tab
It’s not clear to me where the acrobat program is at that point.
Is that a known action or problem with acrobat pro 9.4.4?
Is there a key or keys from the keyboard that can force focus to the box?
The problem is each file I open I have to manually find a link and right click it to get the box then click in the box to get “focus”. After the first one the box pops up with focus.
    John
    Main Problem:
I have been working on converting a set of pdf files with 1000’s of hyperlinks like www.site.com\folder1\file1.pdf#page=10
To jump to a local copy of the files with a relative type link
../folder1/file1.pdf and then go to the proper page.
I have found that it can be done manually by changing the hyperlink to a javascript
    var otherDoc = app.openDoc('../folder1/file1.pdf', this);otherDoc.pageNum = 10 - 1;
    and setting each destination file with a disclose()=true;
Based on the help so far that java script cannot access the hyperlink value in a link
    See: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1039908?tstart=60
I have resorted to the following plan using acrobat javascript, an external keyboard macro recorder and excel in combination to get around the problem
Four folder level acrobat javascripts with “buttons”
One to get all the link quads in an array, in the pdf and report the total number
The second creates a form field in the far corner of the first page and moves there.
The third jumps to each link found by creating a form field just to the left of the link and zooms in so it can be selected by a “mouse click” from the keyboard macro recorder
The forth deletes the form field
The keyboard macro recorder runs javascript 2 and then 3 then clicks on the link just to the right of the middle of the screen and uses keys to get to the advanced editing to get to edit the hyperlink .
The hyperlink is then copied to excel where it is converted using string functions to the needed javascript text to be copied back.
To the acrobat file into a java script (after deleting the hyperlink)
    Rinse/lather/repeat
I have been able to convert about 150 links an hour.
Better then hand typing, but not like having java access to the links.
I am looking to improve the solution

    Rick,
I didn't intend to say you must close the X box after each
apply. It's OK to apply one change and go to another item before
closing the dialogue. It's the OK button that messes up sometimes.
Even when you hit the Apply button for a very large selection
of topics, the OK button sometimes will undo the apply, not
necessarily for all selected topics. Even when you've made just one
    batch change.
I think it's because OK tries to re-set all settings (that's
why it takes forever), but does not correctly pick up the mass
changes previously applied. Or maybe it takes forever because it
can't find the new info and defaults to the existing settings.
A pain in the butt when you're trying to apply a stylesheet
to a very large number of topics. Please don't ask me to define "a
    large number."
Maybe it's a space limit in RH, similar to the space limit
for the number of characters in a batch of file names you want to
import. Or maybe the OK button doesn't look in the right places.

  • Link properties in templates

I'm using dreamweaver cs4 in desing mode and I cannot
understand how to make my hyperlinks appear differently than set by
the page properties. I see some explanations on here but they all
explain it in "code" view which is harder for me to understand.
My problem is that I set the default link propertie in the
"page properties" of the template. The links work fine because they
are a dark background in the template. When I include links in the
edit regions of the finished page with the template applied they
are hard to read because that potion of the page has a white
    background.
What is the easiest way to set default link colors in pages
    with different backgrounds?

As the Bard said, "Therein lies the rub". If you browse this
    group you will
find not dozens, but hundreds of posts advising "learn HTML
    & CSS" before
proceeding further. That is proper advice as your experience
    shows. Design
view will allow you to do simple and basic things, kind of
    like following a
well-beaten path. Now you want something off that path,
    specialized link
formatting. That requires direct code modification. Sorry,
    that's just how
it is. If you're willing to pay that price here is an
    excellent starting

  • Acrobat dc: Add/Edit links

    Hello,
this could be a task for the user interface professionals at Adobe.
the "Add/Edit Link" in Acrobat DC is a bit complicated. Is there a possibility to have quicker access to the link properties? (Some kind of inspector palette ... maybe?). Especially when I need to link to another page, some kind of lasso tool would be welcome so that I can quickly select the thumbnail page from the list of page thumbnails. Or drag and drop the thumbnail page onto the link properties or something like that.
    Another solution could be ...
drag and drop the page thumbnail directly over the rectangle, image or text I have marked as a link.
    THANK you.

    Hi colobaron1,
Could you please specify what exactly do you mean by saying 'select crop marks as a whole'.
Please elaborate more on the same.

  • Tabular data model: Query keeps timing out when attempting to Edit Table Properties

    Tabular data model (SSDT)
Problem: I have a table in tabular data model using a SQL Query for a data source. The query in question requires about 3 minutes to regenerate. When I open Edit Table Properties for this data source the query times out and I get an error (see below): "
Failed to retrieve data from udvTrainJobReportsData. Reason: Query timeout expired"
This seems to happen anytime I use a query that takes longer than a couple of minutes to regenerate. Anyone have an idea on how to get around this. Is there a timeout setting somewhere in tabular data model that can be increased?
    Thanks...

    Hi ManikantM,
According to your description, you query keeps time out when edit table properties. Right?
In this scenario, this error is thrown when connection or query execution exceeds the time out value. Please try to import this table and then increase the connection time out seconds.
We can increase to ExternalCommandTimeout in Analysis Server Properties. Please refer to link below:

    Hi,
We could add the seconds in the timeout values.
Then, if you want to add the timeout values for the SQL Query, please following the link to do:

  • Edit Link on Interactive Report

I have an Interactive report with the edit link on each record to call a form. Is it possible for the edit link to show on specific records (instead of all)? I have a security requirement where the users shouldn't be allowed to edit (go the maintenance form) certain records.

I'm not sure if u're talking about default link?
If yes u can ignore that one and try to insert Your own image or link as ' a href=... text /a ' as Link
in a href U can use javascript, or write page url - it should work
and now answer about Your question - "text" can be inside decode or nvl (nvl2) function where u can combinate with all kind of sql functionality (as query) to specify when it should show text or when it should show null (when it's null U can't clisk on this.
edit: or as Roel wrote ;) - more easier way

  • How do I edit links on a document that can't be modified?

This is probably not the right way to put this question, because I was editing links to attached PDF files and then saved the main document to test the links.  There was a problem with one link, but when I reopened the document to work on it, I could no longer edit the links.  I checked security, and everything was greyed out and said the document could not be modified.
What did I do wrong?  This is all in Acrobat 9.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, at long last, an answer.  Thanks for the helpful suggestions.  It did turn out to be a security problem.
The PDF/A idea turned out to be the right clue.  The base document I was working with was a composite.  I had taken one PDF file and added a two page PDF document on the front.  As it turned out, the two page document added at the front was in PDF/A.
However, before I discovered that, I found a workaround.  As long as I did a "save as" after adding links the document remained editable after reopening.
It was a hassle to "save as" every time I came to edit, but I needed to have the two page document on the front.  I tried to print the two page document to PDF to get rid of the PDF/A, but that didn't work within Acrobat.  I was finally able to get rid of the PDF/A by printing through the CutePDF driver.
Upon reflection, I think the reason my workaround worked was that the "save as" got rid of the PDF/A.
    Thanks again for your suggestions.

  • Edit link not working in IE 10 browser after fetching 5000+ rows

    Hi,
    OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.7.150120
    IE 10
We have an issue where IE browser misbehaves after fetching 5000+ rows.  By misbehaves, I mean the browser responds extremely slow while scrolling up, down, left, right.  Worst behavior is the "Edit" link on the report does not work.  There is no action!  If I navigate to the my home page and try to edit some other report/analysis, same -- no action.  I am able to run other reports but cannot edit any one of them.  Edit link does not work for any report going forward.  If I log-out properly, close the browser window and log back in, only then am I able to edit reports.
I tried clearing the browser cache several times but this keeps happening.
This issue is specific to IE only, not Firefox or Chrome. However IE 10 is the corporate browser and switching to any other browser is not a solution.
Has anybody faced this issue?  Any help in troubleshooting will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi skull,
Just to make it simpler ... don't start touching your settings for java heap memory or your account setting to define the default tab when editing an analysis as they have no link with your issue.
Setting the criteria tab .... well ... as you can't click the edit link you will never get till the criteria tab, so it will not help you a lot (but it's good to set it in case you often edit huge analysis with tons of rows as it doesn't fire a query every time you open it).
For the java heap memory I can't really see how Chrome or Firefox would behave in a different way on a server side setting like that one.
So to avoid having multiple other nice issues later don't change settings around without being sure 100% it will have an impact on what you are debugging.

    Helo,
How to hide edit link for some rows in report? (according to value of column)
    regards
    siyavuş

    Hi siyavuş
You can do this by taking the edit link off the report and putting it into your report SQL.
Use something like Select CASE WHEN (condition)  THEN
'Put your edit link in here as an html Anchor like<a href="(target)">Edit</a>'
    ELSE
    tt.value
    END edit_link
    FROM test_table tthope it helps,
