Editing (or replacing) a function

TLDR: I'd like to edit a line of code inside of a function. Is editing the code and then running the CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION command basically the same thing as editing the function?
A user is receiving the following error message while running a report in Business Objects. Here is the error message:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: number precision too large :ORA-06512: at "GUI.PR_OMIT", line 30 :ORA-06512: at line 1 :-6502So I opened up the function GUI.PR_OMIT in Oracle SQL Developer and I think I found the problem. There is a SELECT INTO statement that is trying to store a 4 digit number into a NUMBER(2) variable. I just want to change this to NUMBER(4). Can I just make the change and click the Run button? I am assuming this will 'CREATE OR REPLACE' the function - which in this case, it would be replacing it.

  • REPLACE ALL functionality.  Am I missing something??!! Where is it?

    Hi SUN Team,
    Am I being stupid or missing something obvious, but does the Replace All function only apply to one file??!! Is there no Replace All across all files?
    If not, this basic editing function should be in the next patch, as IMHO, this needs to be there. I know the Refactor does a Rename, but this is limited in its scope.
    If I change a variable name, I have to open all files in Texpad and do the find and replace with it.
    Its things like this that can make or break a product.

    Hi SUN Team,
    This may not be a high priority issue to you, as I see no response yet, but a good editor is at the heart of a good IDE.
    If the idea was to move VB guys to JAVA via Creator, it is nearly there, except a few rough edges.
    On the whole, I am a big Creator fan, just want to be spoiled a bit more.

  • Not able to edit more than one function of new photos

    I recently upgraded my iPhoto to 09 after shifting to Leopard 10.5 on my G5. Today, for the first time after the upgrade, I loaded about 100 photographs and have found that I am unable to edit more than one function at a time on these image. For example, the image contrast can be adjusted, but, following that, no other function or cropping appears to work. The saved image, after selecting "Done", doesn't show any change other than the initial edit. Surprisingly, I am able to perform multiple edits on the images that were already in the Library (8,500!). After looking at this forum's topics and trying some of the suggestions provided for other editing issues, I've tried to edit more than one function in full screen view, library and album modes with no success.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks,

    If you go the PS or PSE route this many be of some help:
    Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
    1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
    2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
    3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
    This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
    NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
    If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

  • Search and replace string function

    Hello, I am using the "search and replace string" function and it does nt seem to work consistently for me.   I am using it in a situation where I am taking an array of strings, converting this into a spreadsheet string then deleting all of the commas.  Has anyone experienced the same behavior? I have searched through other posts and found other simular faults but none of the fixes worked for this. I can post the code it needed.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    I agree that commas are often not desirable, especially if your software should also work in countries where comma is used as a decimal seperator.
    Where are the commas coming from? Does (1) each element of the original array have one (or more), do you (2) use comma as seperator if you convert it to a spreadhseet string?
    For (1), you might just strip out the comma for each element right in the loop. For case (2) you would simply use a different separator to begin with, of course.
    Btw: you are abusing a WHILE loop as a FOR loop, because you have a fixed number of iterations. Please replace it with a FOR loop. If you use a FOR loop, LabVIEW can manage memory much more efficiently, because it can allocate the entire output array before the loop starts. For While loops, the total number of iterations is not known to the compiler. (Of course a real program would also stop the loop if an error occurs. In this case you would need to stay woth the WHILE loop. )
    Do you have a simple example how the raw array elements look like. How many commas are there?

  • Loss of "Edit in Photoshop" button functionality with Photoshop CC

    First, I must say I am highly dissapponted in Adobe's decision to stop developing Encore. I know that streaming and cloud access to video projects is the fture, but DVD and BluRay is still the standard for a majority. I film events, weddings, training sessions, etc. and am still asked to provide a hard copy of the product.
    I downloaded Photoshop CC and have now lost the "Edit in Photoshop" button functionality. This was an extremely convenient feature allowing editors to modify and enhance DVD and BluRay menus easily in Photoshop given the limited options for editing in Encore itself. Unforutnately, I deleted Photoshop CS6 before checking this. I just assumed that Adobe would have kept this function.
    How can I fix this? If I need to re-download Photoshop CS6, will you provide a link to do so?
    Finally, is Adobe really sticking to its guns with not continuing Encore? It is one of the best authoring tools I have worked with for its price and its a shame to see it go.

    >will you provide a link to do so?
    While there are a "few" Adobe employees who read/post (mostly in the Premiere Pro forum) this is primarily a user to user form... so the best I can offer is the IDEA to look on the Cloud to see if there is a link to download Photoshop CS6
    The only actual CS6 link I have is to purchase the standalone (not cloud) products http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_sl_c reativesuite6.html?promoid=KFPMZ but that would mean buying outside of the cloud
    You might want to contact Adobe to ask about this - http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
    Next link has a "Chat Now" button near the bottom

  • "Edit Menu in Photoshop" function is not working anymore due to new install of Photoshop.

    I had Photoshop 7.0 installed on my system, and the "Edit Menu in Photoshop" function would bring up Photoshop 7.0, no problem.
    I then installed Photoshop CS3.
    When I pressed the "Edit Menu in Photoshop" button, it would still bring up the old Photoshop 7.0. Then I uninstalled Photoshop 7.0. Now, when I press the button, I get, "Could not edit in Photoshop. Photoshop does not appear to be installed."
    Does anybody know where I can configure Encore (CS3), so that it will recognize Photoshop CS3? If not, what do I need to do to make this work (uninstall and install Encore?)

    Andy,
    I think that Jeff got the problem handled, but this is something that we will all be living with for some time - dead links to FAQ's, other articles and the like. Stanely Jones had done a good job of finding many of the "lost" articles from the previous forum changeover. Don't know if he'll be motivated to do it all over again.
    I would like to think that Adobe has someone working on getting some of the old stuff back, or at least re-linked. Right now, the various search engines still have the old dead links in most of their searches. I guess that it will take the 'bots a while to catch up, if they ever do.
    At least Jeff & Neil have gotten some of the FAQ's back up and working. Good job!

  • Replacement for FUNCTION 'DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE'in ecc 6.0

    Hi all!
    Can any one please tel me the replacement for FUNCTION 'DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE'which is oboselete in ecc 6.0. I need the revised function module for this in ecc 6.0.

    Where do you have the information from that this function module is obsolete in ECC6. Neither the shortext nor any comments in the code nor the function module documentation states that this is obsolete (which is usually does if it is).
    The only thing that the function module documentation says is that the solution was revised as well as the docu, therefore I can't see why this function module would be obsolete.
    Hope that helps,

  • Encrypt/Decrypt using REPLACE/TRANSLATE function

    Hi,
    Can someone please provide me any procedure/function which encrypts/decrypts a string using REPLACE/TRANSLATE function?
    Thanks
    Dinakar

    example with TRANSLATE:
    CREATE OR REPLACE function temp_encrypt (p_value IN VARCHAR2)
    RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    BEGIN
        RETURN(TRANSLATE(p_value, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', 'BCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZA'));
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE function temp_decrypt (p_value IN VARCHAR2)
    RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    BEGIN
        RETURN(TRANSLATE(p_value, 'BCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZA', 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ'));
    END;
    SQL> SELECT temp_decrypt('MY TEST') FROM dual;
    TEMP_DECRYPT('MYTEST')
    LX SDRS
    SQL> SELECT temp_encrypt('LX SDRS') FROM dual;
    TEMP_ENCRYPT('LXSDRS')
    MY TESTyou may combine this with REPLACE() ...

  • If I post a photo on Photostream, then edit it in iPhoto, will the edited version replace the original?

    I am working with RAW photos. If iPhoto uploads immediately to Photostream after adding pics and then I edit the photo, will the edited version replace the original on Photostream?

    Yes.
    If you want to do this to squeeze more songs onto a device then take advantage of the feature to downsample as songs are transferred. Device > Summary tab > Convert higher bitrate songs to to 128kbps AAC
    If you're running out of room on your library's hard drive then it is time to buy a bigger drive.

    Your problem is the fact that you are converting it to an integer, thus loosing the fractional part. You need to use "Fract/Exp String To Number" instead and create a DBL so yor data is 23.3 instead of 23.
    You also don't need to manipulate the string if the initial part is of constant lenght. Just use the offset input as in the figure below.
