Editing templates and providing validations
hi,
how can i make changes to the existing templates so that i get in the way i want it to be.. Also,how are the validations done,ie.,for checking username and password..
"...how can i make changes to the existing templates so that i get in the way i want it to be..."
Well, you need to try to change your templates - is the answer. How to get it the way you want them? There is no answer.
If the question is where to do it, then you go to your Shared Components > Templates and search for them.
For the validation of the user name and password you can use the item
APP_USER and htmldb_util package to do what you want.

hi,
Apologize if this has been asked already.
What are the differences if any between -
- controlling the display of portlet header/border in the provider.xml file (containerRenderer set to false)
V/S
- controlling in the page edit mode (edit defaults) and uncheck the "display banners/borders" for the portlets at the region level.
Appreciate it if anyone can explain any subtle differnces if they exist, or if they complement/overide each other. I am planning to set the containerRenderer to false to show them programmatically.

-AnanthI'm using VS 2013 Coded UI Test Builder trying to add some new recorded elements to an existing window. The top level window that the coded ui test builder generated had to be modified since the title changes depending on the contents in a form. I've tried
different ways to identify it but the simplest that seems to work looks like this (basically eliminated the name and just search for the winform name):
public class UICustomerWindow: WinWindow
public UICustomerWindow()
#region Search Criteria
this.SearchProperties[WinWindow.PropertyNames.ControlName] = "frmCustomerMaintenance";
#endregion
Like I said, this works in all the tests automated already and the coded ui test builder can find it if I click the refresh button. The problem occurs when I try to add any new element or exiting element. The UI builder likes to ignore all the previous recordings
for that UI map and add a completely new top level window and elements in that window:
public class UIViewEditCustomerDURGWindow : WinWindow
public UIViewEditCustomerDURGWindow()
#region Search Criteria
this.SearchProperties[WinWindow.PropertyNames.Name] = "View/Edit Customer DURGAN, KENYON";
this.SearchProperties.Add(new PropertyExpression(WinWindow.PropertyNames.ClassName, "WindowsForms10.Window", PropertyExpressionOperator.Contains));
this.WindowTitles.Add("View/Edit Customer DURGAN, KENYON");
#endregion
Is there something I'm missing or this just a limitation of the Coded UI Test Builder? BTW, if more info is needed, let me know and I can probably provide it since its all dummy data. -
Edit templates and change the look and feel of apex UI
Hi Friends,
I am trying to change the look and feel of apex pages(change the alignment,color etc) and try to edit the template
of apex pages. Please give me links or tutorials that helps to accomplish this,
Thanks,
TjHello Tj,
You can spend some time on how to create your own Template, but it comes down to design your site in html and then break it into pieces and change the Templates in APEX with that html.
In that html you use tags e.g. #BOX_BODY# to tell APEX where the forms and reports need to come.
In the doc there are some explanations too: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/themes.htm#BABBFHJA
I think the best method is to just try it. Sure we give a course on that too, so it's up to you if you need training on that or the doc/your tries are sufficient or not.
Once you know how things work you can do pretty much everything.

Dimitri

[WPF] Editing Template and ComboBox
Hi,
sorry for my more questions about this problem, but I not understand how it works!
This is my code:
<DataGridTemplateColumn Header="{StaticResource datagridScheduled}" SortMemberPath="Type.Description">
<DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate >
<DataTemplate>
<TextBlock Name="dgScheduleType" Text="{Binding Type.Description, Mode=TwoWay, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" />
</DataTemplate>
</DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate>
<DataGridTemplateColumn.CellEditingTemplate>
<DataTemplate>
<ComboBox Name="dgCmbTypeOfSchedule"
ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource DomainDataViewModel}, Path=SchedTypes}"
SelectedItem="{Binding Type}"
IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="False"
DisplayMemberPath="Description"
SelectedValuePath="Value">
</ComboBox>
</DataTemplate>
</DataGridTemplateColumn.CellEditingTemplate>
</DataGridTemplateColumn>
Where:
1) Type is a Object of my collection with two property: Value and Description;
2) SchedTypes is a Object with two property: Value and Description
The value of TextBlock is shown correctly, but when I select an item of ComboBox it not shown on TextBlock!
Why? :(Hi Robertino,
Instead of using databinding for your "TextBlock.Text" property, I would suggest you to use "Element Binding" over there.
This is because you already are binding your Type property to your combobox so instead of using the same property binding to your textblock.text use element binding of combobox.text with your textblock.text.
Please see below for your reference.
Change your textblock mark up to something like this.
<TextBlock Name="dgScheduleType" Text="{Binding ElementName=dgCmbTypeOfSchedule, Path=Text, Mode=TwoWay, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" />
This should resolve your problem.
Hope this helps!
Please mark it as an answer if the problem is resolved.

In Pages, In the past, I was able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file". And I can no longer open the actual template, when template is clicked, it automaticaly opens an "untitled" version???
In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. The trouble is Apple does not get the joke, that it is transforming itself into a frequently self contradictory bumbling bureacracy. The price of unchallenged self appointed geniushood.
The incoherent half baked stumbling juggernaut has reached new triumphs with its edict on enforced Sandboxing on developers when it is unable to follow even its own instructions.

Can Contribute edit a DW template and allow it to propagate?
I've created a fairly straightforward html/css site in DW CS3
based around a template and have uploaded both the site and
template to the client's web server.
There's a little set of static text on the template which
cross-populates all the html pages. If I edit the template in DW,
it updates all the pages that are based on that template. I'm
hoping that if I set up the client with Contribute, they can access
the template, edit it, and see the changes propagate to all the
html pages that are based on that particular template.
Is this possible? If not, is there a breathtakingly simple
approach I might be able to give the client to use?
Many thanks.Users of Contribute cannot update templates.
The 'breathtakingly simple approach' could be to use an SSI
(server side include) in your template.
Example php: <?php include("inc.included-file.php"); ?>
You provide your user with an url to the include file, so he
can edit the file in Contribute.
NB: works also great with menu's (make an include file with
just an unordered list, style it with css, and provide your user
with the url to the menu). -
I have an Editable Region in a template and want to remove it
When I have an Editable Region in a template and want to
remove it, and from all child-pages, what to do[mx 2004] ? The
below code if is in logout.php how is get included in a file ?
I use:
<!--#include file="../customeradmin/logout_links.php"
-->
but isset($_SESSION["email"] does not working .... well ?
[code]<?php
if (isset($_SESSION["email"])) {
?>
<link href="/css-styles.css" rel="stylesheet"
type="text/css"><body class="text_normal">
<span class="text_normal">LOGGED IN(<a
class="text_normal"
href="/php_files/logout.php">Customer-LogOut</a>)</span>
<?php
?><br />
<?php
if (isset($_SESSION["email-affiliates"])) {
?>
LOGGED IN(<a class="text_normal"
href="/php_files/affout.php">Affiliate-LogOut</a>)
<?php
?>
[/code]Click in the editable region in the Template file. Right
click on the
mmeditable tag you see on the tag selection and choose Remove
Tag from the
menu. Save the Template.

When I set page as template, set editable regions and try to view in browser IE 9 a download box comes up and when i click open it just opens the file again in DW.
Use the Template to spawn a child page. File > New > Page from Template...
Save the child page as some_file.html and then preview that in your browsers.

I want to make a navbar in my template to base all my webpages on,
but when I looked in Dreamweaver CS4 help the comments said navbars were obselete and that I should use swap image behavior.
There was a tutorial linked about how to make the button stay in down position on each page but there was nothing written about how to do this when each page will be based on the template.
I read somewhere that if i were to make the navbar in my template and set it as an editable region some of the stuff that would need to be changed to make the buttons in the down position on the pages made from the template would be outside of the editable region.Get DIVA GPS. DWCS3 Template Editable Regions and Editable Attributes?
Using DWCS3 / WIN XP
New to DWCS3 and templates AND CSS but I'm managing I
think....
QUESTION:
is there a way to allow the end user to edit the content of
an editable region and also the attributes of the cell in which the
editable region resides?
SITUATION:
I'm building templates for pages (styled with external CSS)
that will be editable by the end user via Contribute. I've put
editable and repeating regions (imgs and navigation menus) in
particular tds and would like the end user to be able to change the
color of the background of the cells in which the editable regions
reside.....
Of course I get "cannot place an editable region inside an
editable region" .......understandable...i've read more than a few
help/tutorial docs......
So I thought that I should click the tag selector for that td
and Make Attribute Editable.....
That's not working either....I know I'm missing something
because I haven't used DW in years and I'm just not getting some
big picture logic......
EXAMPLE: In the .html page attached for viewing, the upper
left image SRC is in an editable region. I would like the
background color of the cell it is in to be editable as well. Same
goes for the background color of the left navigation menu which
resides in a nested table by the way...........but i still want the
color to be editable.....
Thanks so much for any help you can give....

Editing Assistants and Templates
I am using a G4Powerbook with OS X 10.4.9. How on earth do I edit the assistants and templates in "starting points"? Most of these are ugly and just clutter the thing. (I have created a few templates, and they are hard to find because of all the other icons.) Also, how can I get rid of all the icons filling up the "recent items" tab of starting points? I've tried moving them to trash, but usually the message is "can't be moved because item has been deleted." !!
I can't seem to find the appropriate utility, and Pogue's section on "permissions" in his book seems to be all about iChat, which I don't use.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, SwissMaggieThe templates live in Applications>Appleworks (folder)>Starting Points>Templates and you could either trash them or move them to somewhere else.
You can automatically clear out the recent items and also the auto-save items: open AppleScript Editor and paste this into it:
tell application "Finder"
activate
select (every item of folder "Recent Items" of folder "Starting Points" of folder "AppleWorks User Data" of folder "Documents" of folder "username" of folder "Users" of startup disk)
move selection to the trash
select (every item of folder "AutoSave" of folder "AppleWorks User Data" of folder "Documents" of folder "username" of folder "Users" of startup disk)
move selection to the trash
close windows
end tell
obviously replacing 'username'. Save as an application somewhere, and then add it to your startup items in Preferences>Accounts so that it will run on each startup.
Or if you want to remove them manually, the script shows you where they live. -
How to delete editable regions and template?
Hi everybody,
I posted this question earlier in the web discussions area, being unaware of a forum specific to Dreamweaver. Sorry for posting in two different places.
For the past week, I have been learning Dreamweaver CS4 from an online tutorial. I got to the place where I generated a template (index.dwt) from the main page (index.html) and created some editable regions on it. At that point, I realized that I had done all the steps by rote and did not actually absorb what I was doing. I wanted to delete the template in order to repeat the steps and gain a better understanding of the process. When I tried to delete the editable regions (modify-templates-remove editable regions), I was unable to do so because "remove editable regions" was greyed out. Nor was I able to delete the html code. I tried to delete the template itself, but when I did that, the index.html page retained those editable regions! Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get back to the place I was in before creating the template?
Thank you for any assistance.All you need to do is detach the index.html file from the template. Then you can delete the template and start all over.
Go to the Modify menu --> Templates --> Detach from Template -
Smart Forms with editable fields and signature field provided by Webdynpro ABAP
Hi,
i've created an interactive smart form.. Everything fine. The preview of the adobe livecycle designer looks excellent, every field is editable, the signaturefield is signable...
But when i try to test my form using transaction SE80 i'll get a pdf without any signable field, without any editable textfield and so on
I've used the standard printer ZPDF1 for that purpose. (PDF1)
Every value provided by the interface is displayed correctly in the pdf , but no field offers the possibility to change values anymore the pdf looks like a real printed document.
I want to build a webdynpro application where the user gets a pdf in the last step, where he or she is able to edit single values in the prefilled PDF and afterwards to sign this document with his/her digital certificate...
hope you could help me
kind regards
christiansolved by myself.
You have to install and configure the reader rights credentials mentioned in note 736902 -

Loading a pre existing template and editing.
I bought an existing template from a website a year ago and was able to find out how to load it into dreamweaver so that it was editable because if you just opened the index page and starting typing it would tell you your editing a non editable region and would not update the other pages. Now I cant figure out how to do that again! I know it had something to do with the .DWT files and if you edit that then it would update the child pages also. Ive been searching for about 2 hours and cant find anything even though the answer is probably right under my nose.
That is when editing the template.dwt here is the code.
