Editting and re-jarring Jar files

Hi.
I've taken over someone else's code and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to open the jar file in NetBeans for instance, edit some of the classes and jsp's, and then re-jar everything to deploy it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Jeremy.

Yeah, kinda like I already said over on your crosspost. Now you're just plain annoying for crossposting this.

I want to use my Time Capsule as a central 'hub/hard-drive' in order to keep all my working files in one place. I then plan to use my laptops/desktops as peripheral devices for editing and creation of these files. Is it possible? To create a personal cloud?
Can someone advise as to whether i can do the following:
Future Internet connection -------------------TIME CAPSULE (containing all files) -------------- Backed up on the WD 2T Hard-drive I have

(used for remote working)       (Used for home working)     (used for heavy CAD and rendering)    (not being used for anything at the moment)        (& iPods)
I am looking to have all my files in one place as i am hopelessly disorganised. I know the online clouds are a good solution (used Dropbox at work and uni for 3 years) however i am wanting to create my own 'dropbox/icloud' at home. So whenever i get back home with my laptop, any work i have been working on whilst out that day is updated to the timecapsule, and then ultimately as i turn on the other devices, they update to those newer versions of the files. Please tell me that the 3TB time capsule i have can do this, otherwise it feels rather overpriced as a wireless storage device?
Another note (to those in the know) If i am to be working on large files (REVIT/SOLIDWORKS/KEYSHOT/CREO/AUTOCAD) - is the timecapsule connection good enough to support editing and updating these files?
I know i may be asking a question that many have before, but as a bit of a technical novice I wanted a clear-cut answer to my specific circumstances. Your help is greatly appreciated.
(*can i use this WD hard-drive that is connected to the Time Capsule as a back up? so that the time machine back-ups/any back ups are also backed up onto this one? can the WD be a backup for the TC?)
    Kind Regards

  • Way to edit and save .AC3 audio files?

Anyone know if there is a way to edit and save .AC3 audio files in Audition 3?

Every time you open any coded file at all in Audition, you lose quality if you resave it in anything other than an uncompressed format. With most formats, what is even worse is saving them in a different compressed format, because you end up with twice as many different coding artefacts.
What you need to understand is that all of these formats are distribution formats, not editing ones. The basic principle is that you work in an uncompressed format until the last possible moment - ie, distribution. And that, ideally, is the only time you use a compressed format at all. So if you want to use something that's compressed, you uncompress it once, and don't recompress until you absolutely have to.

  • How can multiple users edit and access same ACCESS file

    Hello,
We have 2 access files and multiple users needs to edit and access those files.
How can I enable mulitple access but only one user can edit rest of users are in read-only mode for one file and multiple access and edit on the another file.

    Hi,
You should split your database in a front and backend. Then create two seperate front ends which you can distribute. If you need readonly you can opt for two options, setting the attributes of the file to read only or create a front end with read only forms.
The last one takes a little more work but is safer than setting the attributes to read only because people can change that back themselfs.

  • Editing and saving a locked file

I can't seem to find the answer to this Q in the existing threads so perhaps someone could give me a simple answer.
I have a WP blog but one HTML page. The .index file has a green tick beside it and when I edit it and try to save to remote server it says it is locked and doesn't save.
How can I unlock it and remove that green tick.
This is the only file in my list that is locked and I didn't lock it.
    Thanks

The check in / check out was enabled which I had to change then also delete the .lck file

  • Java and XML :: Unlocking, editing and locking an XML file using JAVA

I need to develop a form with Address field , When i enter address information and submit the form it needs to generate an
    XML file for furthur processing.
    Now my problem is :
When i want to edit the address....after submitting the form by entering the address information, it should unlock
the XML and edit the XML and then lock it.
How can i achive programatically, unlocking an XML file, editing the file, and locking it?.
    Thanks,
    Maruthi.

There's a FileLock class, you know, in the java.nio.channels package. However before you start using it you should read its API documentation carefully including statements like " Whether or not a lock actually prevents another program from accessing the content of the locked region is system-dependent and therefore unspecified".
Personally I would say that if you need to synchronize access to this XML file, you should consider changing your design to use something that supports locking a bit better, like a database. Or by writing a server that encapsulates the XML file and accepts requests to read it and update it, serializing those requests appropriately.

  • Editing and changing large text file

    hi,
new to this, so bare with me.
got a large text file 44meg and i need to change some values in it.
    example:
    TSX ;20030102;40302216;40300579;1980;1900;3762000
i need to change the lines so that they read:
    TSX ;20030102;302216;300579;1980;1900;3762000
thus removing the leading 40 in the middle cols.
    Thanks in advance
    john

    crap, small mistake
    1) use BufferedReader to read in the file line by line (BufferedReader.readLine())
2a) for each line, split it on the semicolons (String.split())
2b) change the middle value using String.substring()
2c) construct a new line by appending all strings in the array returned by 2a) to eachother
2d) write this new line to a file using PrintStream (PrintSteam.println())
    3) when done, close both the reader and the printstream.

  • When i try download a file from the internet it looks like its downloading then when i go to open this file it opens up in the app text edit and says it cannot open i DOS mode? Can anyne help?

when i try to download a file from the internet it starts to download but when its finished it opens up in the app "text edit" and it says this file cannot open in DOS mode.
    Can anyone help?

It sounds like perhaps the file doesn't have an extension that the system recognizes. Is this all files, or just one specific one, and if so, which? What is the name (and extension, if it has one) of the downloaded file? What kind of file do you *expect* it to be? (PDF, or whatever). Renaming a file with the appropriate extension can often fix that kind of problem.

  • Any Complete Tutorials On How To Edit And Export MIDI Files In GB?

Hi. A friend sent me about 25 nice standard MIDI files that all open fine in QT Pro. She wants me to drag and drop them into GarageBand 2, attempt to edit them, change sounds and then export them out as the edited versions, key changes, added bars, change instrument sounds, etc,. Although I'm a trained musician who understands form, I really don't have a clue on how to use GB to edit and export standard MIDI files. Can this be done effectively in GB ver 2 or 3?
Basically what she then wants to do is take the edited MIDI tracks, put them into itunes I guess on her iBook G4 or Ipod and do a solo act playing her keyboard live and usibg the MIDI tracks as background.
Are there any links to step by step tutorials on how I can lerarn this procedure? Please offer any advice and links if you can and thanks for your help

Not really practical, I'm afraid. Capturing screenshots and cutting them up is possible with Photoshop, but PDF editing is very limited (fix a typo, move a picture).

  • Edit and save pdf files

I downloaded Adobe Reader 9.1.3.  When I now try to edit forms that were previously downloaded, I can no longer save the edited form.  If I understand previous questions, I need to buy Acrobat Reader in order to edit and save the pdf files?

A product with the name Acrobat Reader doesn't exist. With Adobe Acrobat you can fill and save forms.

  • Edit and display XML in an efficient way

    Hello,
for quite some time now I searched the internet, this forum and some other forums but I couldn't really find an answer.
My first question is, which 'technology' should one use to build an XML-Editor, i.e. how can XML-files be efficiently loaded, displayed, in a JTree or JTable, and edited (i.e. add and remove elements and save the XML-file again)?
The only 'technology' I can think of is DOM/JDOM (that's what I've read on many websites) because one needs the XML-file in memory to edit it. So SAX doesn't help here, does it? But DOM/JDOM is very inefficient because the DOM-tree has to be build and is quite big in memory, at least it's said to be, because I have XML-files which are several MB big. And actually I want to display more than one file in the application (e.g. with a JTabbedPane) so that they can be displayed and edited simultanously. But that means the tree for each file has to be in memory so, I thought this would consume to much memory. And I think it's not a good idea to write the file back when it's not displayed.
Another thing is that I want to be able to search the XML-file so, I think, it's only possible with DOM/JDOM because you can use XPath. I don't know how to search an XML-file fast with an other 'technology'.
If the XML-Schema is know, I could use JAXB, but then I don't really know how to search the XML.
Which 'technology' do the 'professional' XML-editors use?
My 2. question is, if there's maybe an library etc. that already implements editing and displaying for XML-files, which one can use in an application.
    I'd really appreciate any ideas.

What you could do is use a SAX parser to parse the XML document and build the JTree. Tree the JTree like an XMl Tree. when the user want yo save the Tree, then write the Tree out to an XML file. THere is no need to have the DOm for the XML; however, to let user have the ability to perrform XPATH, you have to write code for it.
14 MB is not a lot, so i would stick with using a JTree and have each TreeNode associated with an Element in the DOM. Parser are pretty fast..it shoiuld probably not takes more than one or two seconds to parse a 14 MB XMl file. Now, if the user have a 100+ MB file, then it may become a problem. In all, your application will probably require at least 100MB just to render the XML tree.
You can also write a class that will parse the XML document...and serialize the DOM to a file. you can break up the dOM into sevral document object (and store them in a file)..to allow you to traverse faster. Your application (class) will read in the necessary document and work with it. THere are two problem here:
    1. IO operations are very expensive. however, most of the time, the application will not be calling for the document file. It takes time for user to type than it would for the application to save user update to a file..so during this time, a Thread can be spawn to perform updating the document (synchronization required)
    2. The code is complex..you have to make sure the serialized document is updated. you have to come up with an algorithm (design) on fetching these document object, etc..
Many XML editor I see use the simplier approach..loading the whole XML document to a DOM. .. so 100MB document will require 100+ MB of memory space available..This approach is easy..fast..bt require memory.
There is a trade off..speed, easy vs memory.
It's upto you to determine which path you want to go..you can't have everything.

  • 5930K vs 5960X for AVCHD editing and color correction?

***I have also posted this in Hardware Forum because I'm not certain which forum will be the best place to ask. Mods, I apologize if this is a no-no and of course you're welcome to remove the one you deem inappropriately placed. Thanks**
Hi guys, getting ready to have a new custom system built (probably iBuyPower, not sure yet). I would love your input on choosing the ideal processor. I have read benchmarks and forums on both the Intel 5960X and the 5930K. Most benchmarks are only concerned about encoding times, not the actual editing and color correction processes. I realize that encoding (exporting) would be generally faster on the 8-core 5960 compared to the 6-core 5930. HOWEVER, all my source material is AVCHD and for that, higher clock speed does make a big difference during the actual editing. So let's forget about encoding/exporting right now and ONLY think about the actual editing. Let's also assume I will not overclock, or if I do then never more than 20%.* I 'm not a gamer and this workstation is ONLY for editing. I use Premiere Pro CC 2014.x and always keep it up to the latest version.
Since the 5960X is only clocked at 3.0 Hz. I'm concerned that editing and color correcting AVCHDs will be not as smooth as one would expect from a $1000 chip. The editing process is quite complex, with multiple video layers (all AVCHD, either 60p or 60i), picture-in-picture, color correction (mostly GPU-accelerated ones such as the Three Way CC and RGB Curves), and so on. It's not simple cuts and a few transitions. In fact, the work required on those AVCHD files is very much beyond what AVCHD is meant for but it is what it is.
So, considering all that, would you STILL fork out the extra cash to get the 5960X versus the 5930K, and if so, why?
I thank you in advance for your opinions and insight!
    Current planned system specs (highlights)
    - Win 8.1
    - 5930K or 5960X (help!)
    - Asus Rampage V
    - 32 Gb 2666 RAM
    - GTX 780 (possibly will invest in a Titan X 12 Gb if funds allow)
    - Intel 730 SSD (480 GB) for OS and programs
    - I will use my current set of 5-6 SSD drives for sources, scratches, misc pull files, exports
    Thanks again for your feedback!
PS: I would like to emphasize again that the actual process of editing and color correcting AVCHD files is what matters most to me here rather than getting the absolute fastest encoding times.
    * I realize that both chips are unlocked and made for overclocking. I've overclocked for years but frankly, I was never that comfortable with it, lots of crashes and instability - and that was at low overlock levels of around 20% or less. I do not want manage overclocking or thermal management or worry about frying the chips. If at all possible I would like to run the chips at stock, or as close to stock as possible. However I'm also open to suggestions about that.

Actually the 5960X will clock the turbo speed for all cores if you set it that way which is one of the things we do with our systems. All Intel chips that are not locked can clock to their turbo rating for all cores if set that way. Even without setting all cores to the peak turbo ratio they will turbo to a clock speed higher than base when all cores are active. It's just not the peak turbo ratio. That has to be manually set. Turbo occurs anytime the system load reaches beyond a low level regardless of what your doing. The system boards and bios effect that. You can also disable a setting in the bios and the system will always stay at it's peak clock ratio. The 5960X clocked at 3.9 will easily outperform the 5930K with all codecs due to the cores and cache.
We can configure the systems with any hardware available in the market. However we cant include all those items on the website right now without making it far harder for people to configure systems. The hardware options we list are there because they are tested to work with the video and audio hardware/software and the reliability. We also support the systems as a solution for the life of the system. We have price the systems for that support which is part of the price difference. The options you are looking at wont have near the same support or expertise with the hardware and software together hence why your asking the questions here.
