EJB and Dictionary Deployment Problem

Hi,
I am new to SAP J2EE engine. I tried deploying a simple EJB application with one entity(CMP) and one stateless session bean but cud not succeed. These were the problems:
1. When I used SAPDB for CMP, it said the table TMP_EMPLOYEE (which the CMP bean maps to, as per persistet.xml) is not found in the catalog. Then I created a dictionary project with the TMP_EMPLOYEE table defined, but I couldn't deploy the dictionary archive. SDM (from the NWS IDE) says this:
Result
=> deployment not executed : file:/C:/DOCUME1/i031278/LOCALS1/Temp/temp11240EmployeeDB.sda
The SDA with development component 'EmployeeDB'/'sap.com'/'localhost'/'2004.11.25.19.41.45' changed its software type from J2EE to JDDSCHEMA. This change is not supported.
Deployment will be aborted.
Deployment exception : Got problems during deployment
2. When I changed the DB provider to MS_SQL_SERVER, which had EMPLOYEEDB/TMP_EMPLOYEE defined, and the SQL server was started, the Table was again not found! (i.e., if I switch off deploy-time table verification, this TableLockingException is thrown. Otherwise ORMappingVerificationException is thrown when the deploy-time verification switch is on).
I have specified the resource-ref etc properly now. This sample application also has a servlet which tries to access the session bean, which inturn talks to the CMP bean. I'm sure that the JNDI names are properly referred.
I am using SAP J2EE engine 6.40 with SP9 and IDE is 2.0.9.
Another thing: I tried to deploy the tutorial 'Car Rental EJB Application' application's dictionary. Even that failed with the same error!
Please help me with this.
Thanks a lot!
Regards,
Prashanth

    Am trying to deploy the java stored procedure (jsp) example

    In the case of the jsp example, the files compile fine in

    Is there a corrective action for these errors? Are the details

    The message indicating that the deployment will take a few
    minues continues to show forever. There is no completion,
    and one is forced to cancel the process.
    This happens when using the port settings of 1521, 1526 (Oracle

    Is there a corrective action for this? Are the details recorded

    We have ;) But I guess that doesn't count... Please have a look
    at the online demo for Enterprise JavaBeans on this technet

    Please open a new thread if that doesn't help you.

  • Spring 2.5.5 and EJB 3.0 Deployment problem in WLS 10.3

    Hi,
    I am attempting to deploy a EAR file that previously ran on SJSAS 9.1 update 1 to WLS 10.3. As part of the deployment I get the following error related to the EJB3 classes.
    There are 1 nested errors: weblogic.j2ee.dd.xml.AnnotationProcessException: [EJB:015002]Unable to load class au.edu.cqu.cis.web.ajaxservice.AjaxServicesBean in Jar D:\dev\env\oracle\middleware\jdeveloper\system\system11.1.1.0.31.51.56\DefaultDomain\servers\DefaultServer\tmp\_WL_user\ProgEnrol-ear-3\v540rk\ProgEnrol-ejb-3.0.4-SNAPSHOT.jar : java.lang.ArrayStoreException: sun.reflect.annotation.TypeNotPresentExceptionProxy
    I suspect that this is related to the @Autowired spring annotation in use in the session bean. Either, the server is not finding the Spring JAR correctly or it has a problem with the annotation.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I need to deploy the spring jar as a library?
    Thank you.

    According to http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/issues/known_resolved.html, this is not addressed in 10.3
    Closely review your classpath, and then (assuming you have access to the source) review the body of your ejb. If it is related to this CR, you may be able to workaround the issue by shortening the body and split large methods into more sub-methods.

  • WLS 8.1 two domains with EJB and webapp deployed has JVM conflicts?

    Test configuration environment:
    Windows 2003 server installed with weblogic 8.1 server and oracle 9i.
    This weblogic server have two domains, one is for EJB deployment, the other is a webapp that implements accessing to oracle through EJB.
    The issue is when we tested a method provided by the EJB that uses double to calculate some total value, the result was correct. But when we tested it using webapp that was deployed on the same server of EJB, it's result was negative or zero.
    I think the reason is that the JVM which both EJB and webapp used for calculation was the same and may made some conflicts when they run at the same time.
    Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance!

    This morning I deployed that webapp to the Domain that deployed the EJB, The results of calculating in webapp's jsp was correct.
    Any one be kind enough to tell me what the calling JVM differences between single domain(deployed by EJB and webapp) and two domains (deployed EJB and webapp separately)?

  • EJB 3.0 deployment problem

    I just started learning EJB3.0. I created a slsb application very similar to the converter available in the tutorial sample. However when i build and deploy the app I am getting this error ->This application client has no ejb refernce by the name simpleSessionRemote. This happens when I have app-client jar inside the ear. For only jar and war inside the ear there is no deployement problems. I am using NetBeans 5.5 and Sun App server. Anyone has come across similar issue?

    How are you looking up the remote ejb dependency in the app client -- via @EJB or InitialContext()?
    Please post the source code for the app client, the full error message/stack trace, and any of the following files that exist in the .ear : sun-ejb-jar.xml, application-client.xml, sun-application-client.xml, ejb-jar.xml .

    I just tried to reproduce the problem with old version of Tomcat (4.0.2) and ... it works. It is definitely specific for Tomcat 5 (or may be one of the late Tomcat 4 as well). There is another related difference:
    With Tomcat 4 I could create javabean in class subdirectory (default package) and use
    <%@ page import="ex01" %>
    Now with Tomcat 5 I have syntax error in this line.
    This syntax error disappeared when I moved javabean into package pack01.

  • Problem generating stubs for Java EJB web service deployed in OAS

    I created an EJB web service and I've successfully deployed it in my Oracle App Server. Some of the methods work fine but others produce the ff error:
    org.apache.soap.SOAPException - java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No Serializer found to serialize [classname] using encoding style [encoding]It seems that the objects specified as parameters in the web service methods exposed are the only ones that had stubs generated for them. Other objects I use, which are usually wrapped inside a Vector, did not have generated stubs.
    Example:
         public String loginUser(UserDTO userDTO) throws RemoteException, NamingException, SQLException;
    public String addItems (Vector vecItems) throws RemoteException, NamingException, SQLException; // where vecItems is a collection of ItemDTO objects     In this scenario, stubs were generated for the UserDTO class, but not for the ItemDTO class. In effect, calling the addItems method resulted to the exception I mentioned above.
    I did a workaround wherein I declared a dummy method which accepted all the types of objects I needed as parameters so all the necessary stubs can be generated, but this fix doesn't feel like it's the proper solution to my problem.
    If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Deployment (Ejb and third party jars with portal app)

    My problem is that I'm trying to set up the development env for a portal project.
    I have an ejb and a third party jar in my portal app. My portlets have some java

    Right now the only way I can get it to work is to put the ejb, third party jar

    I think there should be a way to deploy these things without putting them in the

    thks!
    p.s: the jndi name is correct.

    A deployed bean can not be both stateful and stateless. You must specify the session-type in the deployment descriptor. The reason that deployed beans must be either stateful or stateless is that the ejb container must know how to handle them. Stateful and stateless beans have very different life cycles as I'm sure HeadFirstEJB pointed out.
    What HeadFirstEJB might have been trying to say is that if you have a no-arg create along with other create methods, you may be able to deploy the bean as stateless in one environment and stateful in another. I can't think of any reason you might want to do this but I suppose there might be some valid reasons out there.

  • EJB deployment problems

    I'm trying to deploy my business component as an EJB to Oracle 8.1.7. Actually, it deploys with no errors. When I test the module by setting the middle tier type to Local, it works fine. But, when I set the middle tier type to EJB, I can't see any data when I try to show my business component view.
    So, I tried to deploy my applet and run it against the EJB, but I get an error in a Panic dialog box that says "Unknown service::session0". The details say
    "DAC-405: SessionInfo:Application module creation failed; className: MyBcModule
    Unknown service::session0
    At the same time, the message view shows the following:
    oracle.dacf.dataset.DataSourceOperationException: SessionInfo: Application module creation failed; className: MyBcModule
    void oracle.dacf.dataset.ProducerObject.open(boolean)
    void oracle.dacf.dataset.SessionInfo.publishSession()
    void EISGui2.EISGuiApplet2.init()
    void sun.applet.AppletPanel.run()
    void java.lang.Thread.run()
    The applet will run just fine when I set the session object to a local deployment type. I went through the trouble shooting stuff in the online help made sure my java_pool_size was set to at least 50MB, and that I have no unresolved java classes on the server. But, it still won't work. Are there any suggestions on what else I can try?

    Of course, now I have other problems. After successfully redeploying my new business component as an EJB, and testing the application module successfully as an EJB middle tier server type, I created a new project as described in the online help under "Testing a Business Components EJB Deployed to Oracle8i with a Code Client." I followed the online help's instructions dilligently. Does it work? Of couse not. I'm turning on debugoutput with -Djbo.debugoutput=console so I can get more information, but that information isn't helping me. Refering back to the online help's code, it's crashing on the "ApplicationModuleHome home = (ApplicationModuleHome)ic.lookup(DeployedMod)" line. Here's my exception stack:
    [00] Diagnostic Properties: Timing:false Functions:false Linecount:true Threshold:6
    [01] CommonMessageBundle (language base) being initialized
    [02] Stringmanager using default locale: 'null'
    [03] BC4JDeployPlatform: Ejb
    [04] Connected to Service:sess_iiop://fredws:2481:ORCL
    [05] Logging in...
    javax.naming.NamingException: Unknown reasons. Root exception is
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: EisBc.common.ejb.EisBcModuleHomeHelper
    void oracle.jbo.client.remote.ejb.aurora.AuroraEJBAmHomeImpl.initRemoteHome()
    void oracle.jbo.client.remote.ejb.aurora.AuroraEJBAmHomeImpl.<init>(oracle.jbo.JboContext, java.lang.String)
    oracle.jbo.common.JboHome oracle.jbo.client.remote.ejb.aurora.AuroraEJBInitialContext.createJboHome(java.lang.String)
    java.lang.Object oracle.jbo.common.JboInitialContext.lookup(java.lang.String)
    java.lang.Object javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(java.lang.String)
    void tester.EisBcTester.main(java.lang.String[])
    Now, how can the EJB tester work, but my code can't find the helper class? I know my JNDI path is correct. I've checked to make sure that the EisBc.common.ejb.EisBcModuleHomeHelper class actually exists in the database and is valid. I've run java2perm.sql to grant permissions to my user. And, my java_pool_size is over 60MB.
    This is frustrating. Did I see a thread about someone wanting to go back to VB...

  • Problem with EJB and JMS - Failed to obtain/create connection

    hello ejb and jms programmers,
    My problem is my topic MDB keep on retrieving the same message when there is a database connection failure. Maybe somebody could help me how to prevent to retrieve the same data?
    Given:
    - I purposedly turn off the pointbase database because im testing my error handling.
    - Im using SJSAS 8 as my application server.
    - My message Driven Bean of topic type.
    - Im using CMP for my entity bean
    Here is the scenario of whats happening - step by step:
    1. A separate application publishes a message to JMS queue server
    2. My MDB retrieves this message and do some processing then inserts a record (transaction history) in my database
    3. But my db is turned off or down
    4. My MDB sends a successful processing reply to the JMS queue server
    5. Then i noticed that my server.log keeps on growing so when i opened it, the record was not inserted and printed the stacktrace below "RAR5117 : Failed to obtain/create connection. Reason : javax.transaction.SystemException" (complete stacktrace below)
    6. I understand the cause of the stacktrace is because the DB is turned off. But what i dont understand is that my MDB keeps on reading the same message. Since my MDB is of topic type, isnt a topic MDB supposedly reads a message only once???
    So my questions are:
    1. how do i handle insert database error?
    2. how can i stop my MDB from processing the same message?
    3. any better suggestions?
    Thank you in advance :)

    Hi annie,
    Wherever you are handling database transactions,
    you'd not be able to create a Connection if database
    is closed (I think you mentioned turning off the
    database) then at this condition, you should
    certainly throw a System level exception and stop all
    processing with some meaningful flow to indicate a
    failure (like display message on UI). Even
    network problems are handled by exceptions... so I
    don't see a reason why you didn't wrap it in the
    first place.
    Anyway, try handling specific exceptions rather than
    the general Exception... this will give you a better
    idea of what to do in case of an exception.Yes i know this. I am practicing this in my non-j2ee server applications. But the j2ee app im making, i just pass the db url in the descriptor and the app server automatically creates the connection for my app. So where would i put exception handling?
    2. how can i stop my MDB from processing the same
    message?Guaranteed delivery is not supposed to stop
    processing. It will continue to process the message
    after certain intervals till the message is
    delivered. You shouldn't deliver it at all, if you
    are able to detect that the database is off
    The problem here is that my MDB automatically retrieves the message from the JMS queue server. Im not the one retrieving the messages manually.
    My assumed behavior of topic MDB is once the a certain MDB retrieves a message it will not retrieve the same message anymore.
    thank you in advance.
