EJB Jar not getting Build

Hi All,
I created a DC EJB and a DC EAR. I was able to create Projects successfully. Suddently when i create a new DC EJB, the jar is not getting generated when i build the ejb and because of which i cannot deploy the ejb. Also i am unable to build a DC Webdynpro Project too. But i am not getting any error on build of the project.
What could be the problem. Y suddenly i am unable to build DC Components? Request you to provide me with solution in this regard.
Thanks and Regards,
Divya.

Hi sunaina,
I have done the same. But still when i build the webdynpro dc or ejb dc, it is not getting build.

Divya

  • Ejb jars not being read from application.xml

    Hello. If somebody wouldn't mind reading this, I've been wrestling wiht this most of the day. I have a coupe of entity ejbs and a stateless session ejb, each packed into it's own jar. When I deploy the ear, the war deploys fine but the three ejb jar files are not read as per the application.xml. As a test, I put the jars into the default server lib directory and after I did that, the enterpise app launched as expected. I can't figure out why the server, resin 3.0.12, is not able to see these ejb jars. I've tried to add the directory after deployment to the classpath in the autoexec.bat but no dice. I've moved the ejb jars around into subdirectories and modified the application.xml accordingly but to no avail. I've also looked into the server configuration file but resin doesn't seem to have any taggings within it's ejb server tag that would dictate where the container would look for jar or class files. Does anybody have any ideas what this could be?...this is the application.xml...pretty straightforward...the ejb jars are located in the root of the ear...

    Hello. Thank you very much for the reply.
    Yeah, application.xml is sitting in META-INF. The war referenced wihtin application.xml deploys fine...the container jsut seems to ignore the <module><ejb>..</ejb></module> tags when it reads the ejb deployment descriptors and tries to locate the classes. I've tried everything...shouldn't application.xml take care of all class-loader issues with the module references? Thank you again to everybody reading this or whatever.

  • External Entity Problem w/ ejb-jar.xml

    I cannot figure out nor find how to have the ejb-jar.xml refer to external entities
    so that it doesn't get overly large and unmanageable. Note: our "shared-ejb-jar.xml"
    gets converted into "ejb-jar.xml" inside of a deployed shared.jar file.
    The shared-ejb-jar.xml file contains:
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans
    2.0//EN' 'http://java.sun.com/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd'
    <!ENTITY SatelliteExt SYSTEM "satellite-ext.xml">
    ]>
    ........XML code.........
    &SatelliteExt;
    ........XML code.........
    The satellite-ext.xml file is in the same directory and contains the XML to describe
    a single <entity>...</entity>.
    I use ant to compile and receive this error:
    C:\jist\bin\build.xml:74: SAXException while parsing 'shared-ejb-jar.xml'. This
    probably indicates badly-formed XML. Details: Relative URI "satellite-ext.xml";
    can not be resolved without a document URI.
    Any help will be most appreciated.

    Problem is resolved. Thanks for looking over this thread.

  • Uploading EJB Jars using Enterprise Manager Console

    I realize most publish their EJBs as an "ear" and their web modules as "war
    But, what if I want to publish my ejb as a "jar" component? The Enterprise Manager Oc4J home has buttons for uploading WAR and EAR components only.
    Please suggest work arounds.

    Our forthcoming 10.1.3 release will support the additional deployment of standalone JAR files for EJB applications from Application Server Control (EM).
    In earlier releases you can either:
    1. Wrapper the JAR file witihn an EAR file and deploy that.
    2. Manually deploy your JAR file to the default application using the j2ee/home/application.xml file by adding an entry such as:
    <ejb-module id="jmsrouter_ejb" path="../../home/applications/jmsrouter-ejb.jar"/>
    Note that in an DCM managed environment, this form of manual deployment not a recommended option. Make sure you notify the DCM repository of this type of change using "dcmctl updateConfig".

  • Problem Building a Deployable EJB Jar

    I have a situation where I have compiled and jarred an EJB's Implementation and interfaces, along with some supporting code -- prior to running ejbc.
    I would like to distribute this jar along with a build.xml so that a developer can provide some simple implementation classes (not EJB implementations) along with the ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml and create a deployable EJB jar. I would prefer not to package this as an ear so that the jar could then be neatly added to an ear or deployed separately, at the developers discretion.
    I have everything set up but am struggling to get this to work with some sample code.
    I am using Weblogic 8.1sp4, and can be sure that the developers will be using this level or higher. In my build.xml, I compile the sample code and package the deployable jar together ok. I then run the wlappc task on the jar.
    It took me several iterations to get wlappc to work, and I had to use the following layout for the deployable jar:
    /META-INF/myejbimplclasses.jar
    /META-INF/log4j.jar
    /META-INF/ejb-jar.xml
    /META-INF/weblogic-ejb-jar.xml
    /META-INF/Manifest.mf
    /com... sample compiled class files
    And the Manifest.mf contents look like:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Class-Path: myejbimplclasses.jar;log4j.jar
    Created-By: 1.4.1_05-b01 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.5.3
    I thought it was strange that I needed to put the .jars under META-INF, but this was the only way that I could get the wlappc task to work. I also had to put a semicolon in between the two jars in the Class-Path line (I don't know why).
    Once I put it together this way, wlappc works. However, when I try to deploy the resulting jar, it does not work. It reports an error as follows:
    weblogic.ejb20.deployer.DeploymentDescriptorException: Unable to load a class specified in your ejb-
    jar.xml: com.dcbls.svc.ComponentManagerEJB
    Note that this .class file is available within myejbimplclasses.jar, along with all the other classes it relies on (except the log4j stuff.)
    Is there a simple problem that I can fix with this setup, or do I need to completely revamp my approach? If so, does anyone have a suggested
    approach?
    Thanks,
    ken clark

    OK -- I will concede that this cannot be done, at least not elegantly.
    I have started down the path of reorganizing this EJB such that it can be easily built and included in an Ear. However, I am now running into some ant build problems, primarily -- I think -- with wlappc.
    I set up the build.xml so that it first compiles the developer's local code, using a classpathref that refers to the EJB code I have previously developed and packaged in a jar, as in:
    <path id="compile.classpath">
    <pathelement location="../dcblsfw.jar"/>
    </path>
    <target name="compile_ejb" depends="init">
    <javac srcdir="${source}/src" destdir="${build}" debug="true" classpathref="compile.classpath"/>
    </target>
    Then I jar the output up with the META-INF stuff in the appropriate places. I also want to put the Manifest.mf together to refer to my jar as at the root (where I can have the Ear locate the jar file.)
    However, when I set up this manifest, and then run wlappc, also with the same classpathref, as in:
    <target name="appc" depends="jar.ejb">
    <wlappc debug="${debug}"
    source="${dist}/${jar.name}"
    classpathref="compile.classpath"/>
    </target>
    The appc throws all sorts of exceptions. It seems that the skeleton code it builds does not really match up well with the actual EJB code, and the compiler then complains when trying to compile the skeleton code. For example:
    [wlappc] C:\DOCUME~1\clarkk03\LOCALS~1\Temp\appcgen\com\pfizer\dcbls\svc\SampleEJBComponentManager_nrpnna_Impl.java:67: ejbActivate() in com.pfizer.dcbls.svc
    .SampleEJBComponentManager_nrpnna_Impl cannot override ejbActivate() in com.pfizer.dcbls.svc.ComponentManagerEJB; overridden method does not throw java.rmi.RemoteException
    [wlappc] public void ejbActivate()
    Now, when I remove the Class-Path entry in the Manifest.mf, wlappc works fine.
    For reference, the jar building task (with manifest entry included,) is:
    <target name="jar.ejb" depends="compile_ejb">
    <jar jarfile="${dist}/${jar.name}"
    basedir="${build}"
    update="yes">
    <manifest>
    <attribute name="Class-Path" value="dcblsfw.jar"/>
    </manifest>
    </jar>
    </target>
    Is this a bug with appc/wlappc? Is there a better way to do this, or a workaround to make it work?
    It seems odd that if the Class-Path in Manifest.mf is not to refer to anything internal to the jar, that it affects appc the way it does.
    Thanks,
    ken

  • Queries are not getting executed in the EJB

    Hi,
    I am using Stateless EJB for database transactions. I have one getConnection() method in it which I am calling in every method for connection. I have created one more method in that I am executing one simple query for count(*) from one table and returning the count in the Web dynpro application. But I am not getting the count. It seems the query is not getting executed. I have added classes12 jar externally to the EJB and also to the WebDynpro application. Is there anything I am missing????
    Thanks,
    Swati Gaur

    Hi Swati Gaur,
    Did you print any logs in the your code to print the count after executing the query?
    For debugging purpose you can try
    System.err.println("Count after executing the query "+count);
    count is the variable which contains the count after executing the sql query.
    Check for the above statement in default trace. If count is printing in default trace then the problem is in your webdynpro code.
    Hope this helps!
    Regards,
    Jaya.

  • Please I can not get a .jar file to run on XP SP3 start/run/cmd/

    I can not get a .jar file to run on XP SP3 start/run/cmd/
    Please help if can figure this out. I'm convinced it is a Windows XP SP3 problem from searching on google and seeing other ppl on XP SP3 with same problem (but no working solution for myself). I'll try to be complete-listing all I've done.
    I had installed: Java SE Runtime Environment v6u14 for Windows Multi-language
    I had checked here it was working properly: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
    I'm trying to run this jar file (soht-client-0.6.2.jar):
    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/telnetoverhttp/soht-java-client-0.6.2.zip?download
    http://www.ericdaugherty.com/dev/soht/javaclient.html < this is the information for the program.
    (yes the file can be executed and should open the program's window
    I wanted to post screenshot of it but friend that it's working for isn't here)
    _(Please find log of all cmds I did in this post here: http://pastebin.com/f792983df )_
    _I have extracted +'all' the files to: C:\062\+_ (I have tried using other directories, same problem)
    ++I then start/open/run/cmd+
    then I: cd C:\062\+
    then I try various commands - all+ of these do absolutely nothing- meaning no errors, no reply, no window opens, nothing except enters that directoy again:
    java -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar
    java -jar -client soht-client-0.6.2.jar
    java -client -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar
    java -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar soht.properties
    soht-client-0.6.2.jar
    So I try this cmd: java soht-client-0.6.2.jar
    Reply:

    the application in the same directory as the soht.properties

    So then I do these cmds which produce the exact same error/reply just above; Unable to load..:
    j_ava -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar -client soht.properties_
    java -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar -client C:\062\soht.properties
    So then I copy soht.properties to C root and do:
    java -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar -client C:\soht.properties <same error as above
    Then from other information I have read I right click on the .jar file, select open with Always open with:
    _"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe"_
    Try again.. same problem.
    Then I do cmd:
    _"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "C:\062\soht-client-0.6.2.jar"_
    does nothing, retry the other commands same thing (either nothing or those same replies)
    Then I read (http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5384879) someone had the same problem as I and they solved it by uninstalling all Java/reboot/ then install JDK 6 Update 14 with NetBeans 6.5.1 start NetBeans and then it worked for them.
    So I unistalled all Java, rebooted and gave the cmd another try (before re-installing), now a new error, of course:
    C:\062>java -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar
    'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
    Then I install  Java SE and NetBeans Cobundle (JDK 6u14 and NB 6.5.1) Final Release/ reboot/ open Netbeans/
    go to test java page; all is good, run cmds again -and still nothing..
    C:\062>java -version

    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_14-b08)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode, sharing)
    I reassociate program with: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.007\bin\javaw.exe_
    same thing.. nothing
    Thank you very much for your time :D_
    PS. My computer has been newly reformatted so needing another reformat I'm sure is not the solution.

    Thank you very much for your replies Taggert_77 & swmtgoet_x :D
    Taggert77_: I have never used NetBeans. I only installed it in the bundle as I had read on another post that somehow installing the bundle magically helped another user with the same problem (he didn't know why it worked after that either).
    Before XP SP3 I was able to execute .jar file through cmd prompt. Now I am not.
    This file is executable, grab it and you will see. Here is a screen shot (program in front is FlashFXP, behind is the cmd prompt and what should happen):http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/53273b4ddf.jpg
    swmtgoetx_: I only did the other cmd's to try to make it spit out something, anything lol :D
    The proper cmd is simply: java -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar
    I did give your cmd a try, and it produced nothing :( (just like the other correct cmds)
    java -client -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar soht.properties
    Thank you again...the mystery remains
    PS. If you do a search for this you'll find an amazing amount of XP SP3 users with the same problem and no solution posted that I could find except one chap that did the unistall install order that I did above).

  • Calling a newly deployed EJB from an EJB gives a NoSuchMethod Exception if the jar of the newly deployed ejb is not in the classpath

    Hi ,
    I have an EJB A which is already deployed when the server starts. A second ejb

    EJB A calls methods in EJB B. I use reflection in EJB A to call methods in EJB

    Hi,
    I am attaching a test case. This test case actually demonstrates a security bug.
    Unzip the file and modify the StartWeblogic.cmd in domainA to not refer to the
    SampleRemoteEJB.jar in the classpath. If u run the test client under the client
    dir u will see a NoSuchMethodException.
    The reason is it is not able to load the dynamically generated stub file.
    Initially I had the getMethod and it didn't work. You might have to modify the
    files to suit ur env. The easier way is to run th edomain wizard and create 2
    domains. Run the servers in development mode and place the jars under the applications
    dir

    Try changing your call to getDeclaredMethod() to getMethod().
    getDeclaredMethod() searches only the class you called it on, whereas
    getMethod() traverses to the superclasses and interfaces. You onlyneed
    getDeclaredMethod() when you're accessing a nonpublic method.
    Not sure if this will help, but it's worth a shot.

  • Jar file is not getting executed from commandline

    Hi ,
    this is the weired problem i had.
    i have created a executable jar file.When i double click that file it is getting executed without any problem but when i go to command prompt and tries to run this jar by using folowing command
    java -jar myjar.jar
    it is giving me the error as
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:com/build/deploy/Deploy (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
    i am not getting why it is giving me this version error.
    can any body answer my question.
    i am using version JDK1.5 also program is running perfesctly from ecllipse IDE.

    I believe that something in your system is set up so that when you double click the jar, the correct java or javaw version is being used, but when you use the command line, an older version of java is being used.

  • Problem deploying connector: META-INF/ejb-jar.xml not found in jar file

              Has anyone seen this problem:

              the RAR packagings are identical. Any assistance is
              greatly appreciated since I'm banging my head against
              a wall...
              Thanks,

              I was finally able to resolve this one. On the odd chance that someone else encounters
              the same problem, here's what went wrong:
              My RAR file had two directories: 'META-INF' and 'meta-inf'. The first was created
              by the jar tool and contained the manifest.mf file. The second I created manually
              and it contained my ra.xml and weblogic-ra.xml. When I examined the RAR using
              any tools or I extracted the contents, it looked like it only contained one directory:
              META-INF (because NT is case-insensitive).

  • How to configure maven to build EJB Jar?

    Hi!
    I would like to know how you setup Maven2 or alternatively Ant to build an EJB Jar.
    I have managed to do this in Maven by adding required jars to my local repository and added dependencies in the pom.xml file. This, however, do not seem like a good solution. I would like set some kind of classpath for maven to look for all libraries included in my application server.
    Could you please help me to solve this and I will be most grateful?!

  • Cannot build EJB jar file in NWDS

    hello,
    I changed java beans file, and tried to build jar file again, then the "build EJB archive" context menu is disabled so I can not make EJB jar file!
    So frustrated.. NWDS recognizes the changes in the java files , right? How come there 's no Build menu..
    Is there any pre-requisite to enable the menu?
    I have no idea how I can build jar file..
    Please give me a advice.. Thanks~!

    You might check the weblogic.developer.interest.ejb.tools new group.
    Make sure that the tool doesn't leave this ejbcgen directory around. It
    should delete
    that temp dir. When it doesn't it keeps all the old generated stuff around
    and your changes won't be
    reflected in the new jar.

    Hi,
    I have a problem with the EJBDeployerTool. When I want to update
    a class file (for example, because I corrected any problem), the
    deployer tool doesn't update the file correctly. It keeps the
    old version of the class file.
    In order to update a jar I have to copy the newer version in the
    .ejbdeployer/provider-projects directory by hand. Is it a bug?
    Is there any other way to do this? We are wasting too much time
    in this task, instead of programming :_(
    Thanks in advance,

  • ClassNotFoundException if ejb jar file is not placed in the server's classpath

    Hi,
    My ejb jar file contains some non-weblogic generated files and is placed in
    the applications directory. When client is executed, I get the ClassNotFoundException
    on the server when my bean makes a reference to the generated class. The problem
    gets resolved if I put the ejb jar in the server's classpath.
    This problem happens in weblogic server version 6.1. It was not happening in
    the previous releases of weblogic server(6.0).

    Well
    I follow your instruction
    I am pasting the command prompt operation
    Coding is same above
    My all three files (.java )is resides in javath folder

    adding: p1/sb.class(in = 185) (out= 153)(deflated 17%)
    Z:\javath>javac demopack.java
    demopack.java:4: cannot access sb
    bad class file: .\sb.java

    Z:\javath>------------------------------------------------------------
    in demopack.java file i want to access class files which are resides in
    jar files
    Actually when we are writing import java.io.*;
    we can access all the class file from that io package
    Same thing i am trying to implement for user defined package

  • Entity type "EJB-JAR" may not be used in public part "ejbjar_api"

    Experts,
    Can you please help me to identify why the error 'Entity type "EJB-JAR" may not be used in public part "ejbjar_api", unsupported purpose.' appears on NWDS while creating a project on a DC and how can this be resolved.
    Thanks in advance
    -Lave

    Hi Jain,
    is the error message that the public part is not found prefixed with [dcmake]? If yes that rather points in the direction that there is a problem with the metadata information. (PP name not correctly spelled, renamed after initial creation, perhaps even some problems with upper/lower-case letters depending on your platform.)
    What SP are you using? The log looks like some rather old build plugins are used on a newer NWDI installation.
    The warning from the [wdgen] task and the subsequent failure of the [wdminimizer] can be ignored. "ERROR: Non Fatal Error" is a bit quaint, but it really is not fatal. It just means that the minimizer didn't find the data required to operate. The [wdgen] warning means that the WebDynpro generator could not write the information. So the jar files in your public part are maybe a bit bigger than necessary but that's all.
    Best regards,
    Marc
