EJB QL query error... why??

Ok, so I'm getting an error in my EJB QL and don't know why... do you see anything strange in this query? I append the whole error from the deploytool's verifier. I've double checked that countryBranch exists as a CMR field in BranchCatalog. Any idea?

  • EJB QL query error

    Hi,
    When I deploy my EJB application and run the client application, I get an error that says :
    RemoteException occured in server thread
    No EJB QL defined for public abstract "findByLastName" method.
    I am using CMP and in the J2EE deployment wizard, I have given the SQL query for the method but its not displaying the EJB QL. Dont know why..
    Is there any settings that needs to be done to make the container generate and display the EJB QL ?
    Somebody please guide me..
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I tried writing the EJB QL qeuery for the method "findByLastname" and when I say "Generate default SQL" it says :
    " The SELECT clause has a return type that does not match with the return type of the select query for which it was defined."
    I just need to select all rows which have the lastnames that is supplied as the input parameter to the find method.
    The EJB QL query I wrote was:
    SELECT OBJECT(p) FROM Customer p WHERE p.lastname= ?1
    I have defined the find method to return of type "Enumeration"
    I am not sure what the mistake is.
    Help me out..
    Thanks

  • Mysql w/ JDeveloper EJB Named Query Error

    I have the following named query:
    @NamedQuery(name = "Node.topParent", query = "select o from Node o where o.node is null")
    However, when converted to a SQL query (connected to MySQL) it shows:
    select * from "node" where (parentId IS NULL)
    The "node" causes MySQL to error however if I manually remove them then it works. Why is the query using "" and how can I configure it to by MySQL compliant?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kris

    Appears that by default JDeveloper uses \" in the annotations for table name.

    Hello Ravi,
    The EJB 2.0 specification has made it mandatory to have <method-params> tag within the ejb-jar.xml. Due to the absence of this tag, you are getting the error...
    Please modify ejb-jar.xml and add an empty <method-params></method-params> tag for the findByAllAccounts and ejbSelectByTopAccounts methods. For example,
    <query>
    <description>This query retrieves all the accounts</description>
    <query-method>
    <method-name>findByAllAccounts</method-name>
    <method-params></method-params>
    </query-method>
    <ejb-ql>select distinct object(ua) from UserAccount ua</ejb-ql>
    </query>
    Notice the empty <method-params> tag added. Please do the same for the ejbSelectByTopAccounts method.
    Another thing to be changed is the jsp:usebean tag in index.jsp and DisplayAccounts.jsp. In the mentioned files, replace jsp:usebean with jsp:useBean. Please notice the capital 'B'. JDK 1.4 has made this mandatory.
    Futher more, as you would be aware, 10G onwards, the CMP beans accesses the database tables through the Toplink. Toplink is the default persistence manager now. To use the orion-ejb-jar.xml, please start the OC4J with the following command
    java -Ddefault.cmp.pm=native_cmp -jar oc4j.jar
    I would like to point out that the sample works fine in OC4J 904 developers preview without any of the above mentioned changes. The sample application has been certified in that version.
    Thanks for pointing this problem out. We are making the necessary changes in the sample and the updated jar will be uploaded on OTN shortly.
    Hope this helps,
    Rajat

  • Query erroring out with lack of temp space?

    I have 2 databases. One was cloned from the other on to another server.
    On one server the query takes 5 seconds to run on the other server the query errors lack with lack of disk space.
    The init files are the same. The Oracle memory is the same. The temp tablespace size is the same.
    I'm stuck!
    What should I look for to find out what is causing the error?

    On both databases the version is 9.2.0.6.
    This is the view that worked in database1 and errored in database2...

    If I qualify all the tables with SAP_STAGE the query runs in 5 seconds in database2.
    Why does the query run in database 1 without the schema names?

    * I modified the query a bit and was able to deploy the application.
    * This is what I have now:

    * It somehow doesn't like the $1 notation.
    * Are there any workarounds for this?

  • Invalid LOV query error

    I am trying to modify a query for LOV page item but get an Invalid LOV query error when trying to Apply Changes to my page(query however works in SQL*Plus)
    I am trying to change the date format of query result to MON YYYY.
    Original query that works:
    select distinct bill.BILLED_DATE display_value, bill.BILL_ID return_value
    from BILL;
    New Query that fails in APEX (but works in SQL*Plus)
    select distinct to_char(bill.BILLED_DATE, 'MON YYYY') display_value,
    bill.BILL_ID return_value from BILL;
    Anyone have any idea what I need to do to make this work?
    "1 error has occurred
    LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query"

    Strange, this lov does work and is no different than yours:
    select distinct to_char(sysdate,'MON YYYY') disp, 1 retval from dual
    What are the results from the query? Can there be something wrong with that?
    Regards Guido

  • HT201210 how come i cant update my ipod. im trying to update it but it always says error. why?

    why cant i update my ipod? when i try to update it. it always says error. why does it say that?

    If you are updating by Settings>General>Software Update then connect the iPod to your computer and update via iTunes.
    iTunes 10 for Windows: Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    Otherwise, what is the complete wording of the error message.

  • EJB finder query with ORDER BY clause

    Hi,
    How to query the data in ordered list using Order By clause in the entity Bean.
    Here is the part of My code in which i am interrested.
    /* @ejbgen:finder
    * signature = "Collection findAllData()"
    * ejb-ql = "SELECT OBJECT(z) FROM DataProfileBean AS z"
    abstract public class DataProfileBean extends EntityAdapter {
    * @ejbgen:cmp-field column = DATA_PREFIX
    * @ejbgen:primkey-field
    * @ejbgen:local-method transaction-attribute = Required
    public abstract Integer getDataPrefix();
    public abstract void setDataPrefix(Integer DataPrefix);
    Now what modification needs to be done in the ejb-ql query to find the DataPrefix in the sorted list.
    Regards,
    Dilip

    I don't think the current spec for EJBs support ORDER BY. But Weblogic has an extension that you can use (that is, if you're using it). Here's the info: http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/ejb/cmp.html#1076421

    Why am i getting this error.
    This is the code:
    import javax.swing.*;

    to this

    Hi,
    I'm trying yo run a query.
    I check the query in the Query Designer and is OK, but when run the query a message appears "Internal error in program CL_RSDD_VCUBE and method GET_SID-8-" and "System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form RSRDR;SRRK0F30-01-".
    This query is made on Remote cube Accessing data from ORACLE through UD Connect , and I don't known if this error is related number of records.We r using BW3.5
    We have OPCO CODE as a infoobject in the query if we restrict that opcocode with some values and execue the query its getting the values and running without errors .But if we wont restrict with anyvalues on the opo code its getting above errors.
    Can anyone help me?

    Hi Mural,
    you can go in Tcode RSRT, introduce your query and then select from Environment first "Repair Read Mode" and then "Generate Queries". Then try click to Execute to see if it was only a generation problem or if the query has a real problem.
    In this case you can try with "Execute + Debug" to see where the problem is.
    Ciao.
    Riccardo.
