EKPO Table adjusted in SE14 and records deleted

Hi Team,
We worked on enhancing the EKPO table by adding one field to CI_EKPODB table. We did a DB Adjust and selected save and activate database options. We thought we wont loose the data. But unfortunately we lost the data and we need to recover it back.
The DB table in underlying database is generated and hence DB admin says flashback is not possible.
1. My question is it possible to flashback the table which got generated. Meaning Will SE14 operation do a drop table and create table for modifiying and adjusting the DB table in Underlying DB. Kindly confirm.
2. Let us know the recovery procedures for one single table which got deleted in SAP

Hi Bala
Generally this is not advisable. This could lead your DB inconsistency. You need to restore whole database backup (in another system) and export the required table data.

Hi Eric,
There is no limitation on SBO as far as I know. There is a limitation on SQL though. The limitation (on SQL 2000 that is, not sure if it's the same on SQL 2005) you can only add fields in a table that adds up to 8060 characters. The amount of records in that table will depend on the amount of hard disk space you have available.

Dump on DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL se14 pooled table adjustment

I have been trying to adjust table T157T in SE14 and I get a short dump that says:
Runtime Error          DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL
Exception              CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
Occurred on     08.03.2008 at   15:06:58
Error in the module RSQL accessing the database interface.
What happened?
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "%_T002S0" had to be terminated because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
Error analysis
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was neither caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure "DATA_COPY" "(FORM)".
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
The data read during a SELECT access could not be inserted into the target field. Either conversion is not supported for the target field's type or the
target field is too short to accept the value or the data are not in a form that the target field can accept
How to correct the error
The exception must either be prevented, caught within the procedure "DATA_COPY"
"(FORM)", or declared in the procedure's RAISING clause. To prevent the exception, note the following:
Check the entries in the developer trace (Transaction ST11) This contains details about the type and length of the database field, and the field in ABAP in which the database field should
have been placed.

Ekpo table partially active

Hi Experts,
I have created include structure CI_EKPODB in ekpo table by double click and added some fields in this structure.Then I deleted these fields from the structure.Now the table ekpo showing partially active.whenever i try to activate the table showing error that some fields are deleted from the table.
Can you please advice how to activate ekpo table.

You have to save and activate the database.
GotoSe11->Table name>Utilitiies>Database Object>Database Utility> Save and activate database.
It will activate and adjust the datase.

Hi Kishore,
First identify deleted records by selecting "Detect deleted rows from comparison table" feature in Table Comparison
Then Use Map Operation with Input row type as "delete" and output row type as "delete" to delete records from target table.

How to record the records deleted in a table

I want to run a report as a batch which should deleted the records
which are sysdate - 60 and The report should log the number of records deleted
from each table at End Of Run.

Dynamic record deletion from database table

Hi,
I need to delete selected records from database table(dynamic names). Table names are being passed from main program with some of their field names. The record to be deleted from the database table is being decided based on the fields passed for the table and their contains passed from the main program.
It is not possible to write dynamic where clause for DELETE statement directly.
So, I created a dynamic internal table and i am trying to fetch all records using SELECT statement(for which we can write dynamic where condition, something like...SELECT...WHERE (itab). ) which need to be deleted in the iternal table.
Piece of code :
          CONCATENATE c_im v_tablefield1 INTO v_imprtfield1.
          CONCATENATE v_tablefield1 c_in v_imprtfield1
                   into s_condition separated by space.

The WHERE condition has an unexpected format.
Error analysis
The current ABAP/4 program attempted to execute an ABAP/4 Open SQL
statement containing a WHERE condition of the form WHERE (itab) or
WHERE ... AND (itab). The part of the WHERE condition specified at
runtime in the internal table itab contains the operator
         IN (v1, ..., vn)
in incomplete form.
How to correct the error
If the error occurred in a non-modified SAP program, you may be
able to find a solution in the SAP note system.
If you have access to the note system yourself, use the following
search criteria:
"SAPSQL_IN_ILLEGAL_LIST"
"SAPLZSD_TAB_REFRESH " or "LZSD_TAB_REFRESHU01 "
"Z_SD_REFRESH_AGTABLES"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the

I would like to know whether "IN" operator is allowed in (itab) of WHERE clause. While testing I changed the "IN" to "=" specifying a suitable value there. It worked. So please let me know if i can give "IN" operator using renge table in the dynamic where clause.

Hi again, so if you can not use the IN in a dynamic where clause you might be forced to dynamically build the entire select statement, Here is a sample program which may give you some ideas, notice that we are writing the select statement code, putting it in another program and generating the subroutine at runtime, then call this routine. I'm sure that this will help you see what you need to do.

Need help for record deletion from custom table

Hi friends
I have to write a custom program which will be generic to delete any table record with date field.
This program needs to be generic (should be able to delete records from any custom table) in nature with selection screen parameters as:
Table Name and Number of Days prior to which records are deleted, both mandatory.
Program Flow:
1.     From number of days calculate date before which records are deleted, ( current date u2013 no. of days = past date).
2.     Custom table have date field, delete records prior to that date.
3.     Program may be scheduled for background job, put default values for both fields. No. of days should not be less than 60.
4.     Classical Report output with number of records deleted.
My query is how will I know the name of the Date field so that I can write a DELETE query.
If I use 'DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET' it gives me all field names but how to filter out?

I have added field on the selection screen as p_fieldname and got the F4 help for it , so that the user will get the field name run time as per the table name.
Now I am facing problem while writing the DELETE query.
I wrote like
DELETE (fp_tab)
where (fp_fieldname) LE date
It is not working. I also tried with taking a string to concatenate fp_fieldname, LE and date to l_string
when I write like this:
DELETE (fp_tab)
where (l_string) , sy-subrc is getting 4 and no records are getting deleted.
I do not understand where the dynamic Delete is failing??

Database Auditing to record DELETE operation on a schema for all tables.

I am using ORACLE DATABASE 11g. I want to apply the AUDIT feature to record all the DELETE operations happening on the schema tables.
I did the following steps but dint got the proper output :-
I logged into the SYS as sysdba user and set
alter system set audit_trail=DB,EXTENDED scope=spfile;then i executed this command to record the sql which will use the DELETE privileges
AUDIT DELETE ANY TABLE;Then i bounced back my DB and for testing purpose i created a table in SCOTT schema and inserted 10 rows in it and then DELETE all the rows from it.
As per expectation i check the view
select * from aud$
where spare1 like '%MACHINE1%'
and USERID='SCOTT'
order by ntimestamp#;The output i got is :-

PS:- The ACTION# column shows 100 , is it the code for DELETE action. I also accessed the DBA_AUDIT_TRAIL view but din't found any usefull info their.

Overwrite database record - Table has only 1 field and record

Hi,
How do you overwrite a record in a database table?
The database table that we have only has one field and this field is used to count the print number of a specific label. This table will only have 1 record.
The field is also used as part of an id.
So during each program run, I will select the current number in the field, add to it in my program, then will need to overwrite the current value in the database table with the new value.
Please suggest if something different should be done.

You will need to do a delete and then insert instead of delete and update. Update wont work in this case.

Change Log Table entries without Dates and How to Delete these entries !!

Hello Experts,
I was analyzing Change Log tables of some DSOs and figured out in some tables we don't have Date Column and some tables with date columns but many entries with "00/00/0000" date.
Any ideas on this ? Any idea how records can get into the table without dates and if SAP provides a safe way to remove them (without dates) ?

Date fileds 00/00/0000 means date are blank..that means either you did not get them from source system or the transformation is not mapped.
Do not delete change log selectively, that might affect your delta loads.
Rather delete old change log ...
From DSO administration ---use the main menu to choose Environment ® Delete Change Log Data.

I am using .php to validate a user code against one of four codes that I am providing to potential clients. They enter that code, along with a default user id and the appropriate page is then displayed for them. Everything is working fine on the desktop. I need to have this table and the records created on my remote server. I tried saving the table in the Connections folder, but that didn't help. Everytime I enter a code (valid or invalid) on the live site, I get the following message: "Table 'boundsauctions_com.promocode' doesn't exist". Is there someway to include the table and records in my Dreamweaver folders for the site?

You can't. Dreamweaver, or FTP for that matter has no connection to the MySQL database. If you have created a MySQL database locally and now wish to move/copy it to your server you'll need to create a back up of your local database and then log into your database on the server and then restore that back up.
An even easier way to do this, and if you are working with MySQL much at all a good investement is to get the commercial version of Navicat MySQL - this is the best MySQL administrator I've found to date and is well worth the few bucks to buy it. With Navicat you can connect to your local MySQL database and also create a connection to your remote database, then literally drag and drop your local database contents to copy them to your server. This function alone justifies buying Navicat. A huge time saver. And no I do not work for or have any share or ties to Navicat. I'd recommend something else if I knew of anything better, but so far I don't.

Backing Up Database Table and Records in Oracle 10g

Hi All,
I created database for my company with Oracle 10g Database Server and want to backup all my database tables and records within (i.e creating another username inside the data and transfer them) and outside (i.e transfering them in another destination outside the database server) the database. Could you please instruct me on how to achieve?
