Elastic dropd down menu

Question

Hi friends,
I have stuck in a problem with a drop down menu i am making
for one customer.
Unfortunately we don't have the permission to include swf
files here, so i' ll try to describe it to you with few words.
Firstly i am making a parent movie clip which i called
"papa", then
i am making four movie clips (A, B, C, D). Each one of them
includes a button ( for the A_mc is called buttonA ) and a list -
which is also a movie clip - under a mask (for the A_mc is called
listA) .
Each list includes a number of sub-buttons and the movie clip
below. (For example the listA inludes 3 sub-buttons and the B_mc).
In the begining of the clip i initialize 4 global variables
in order to controle the movement ( i gave the the names:
_global.a=0 _global_b=0 _global.c=0 _global.d=0).
The movement of each list last 10 frames (5 frames to stretch
and 5 to close).
Now let us see only the first two buttons in order to make is
more simple.
(My objective is when the user press a button the engine must
first check if a list of another button is already been stretched
and in that case firstly this list must close (pull back) and then
the list of the button that has been pressed will stretch.
Otherwise if noone list is stretched, then the list of the button
that has been pressed will stretch)
In the buttonA i write this code:
on(realease)
_global.a=1;
if(_global.b==1) // here i check if the listB has already
been stretched
_root.papa.A_mc.list_A.B_mc.listB.play(); // with this
script the listB will close (if it has been stretched)
// i also tried the script: _parent.listA.B_mc.listB.play();
else
_parent.listaA.play // in that case the listA will stretch
In the buttonB i write this code:
on(realease)
_global.b=1;
if(_global.a==1) // here i check if the listA has already
been stretched
_root.papa.A_mc.list_A.play(); // with this script the listA
will close (if it has been stretched)
else
_parent.listaB.play // in that case the listB will stretch
Now let us go inside the lists of the movie clips.
(As i told you the movement lasts 10 frames, 5 to stretch and
5 to close - pull back - ).
Fisrtly in the the listA:
In the frames 1 and 5 i am writing the script : stop();
in the frame 10 i write the script:
_global.a=0;
if (_global.b==1)
this.B_mc.listB.play(); // here after the listA has closed i
give the order to listB to stretch.
// I also tried the same order as _parent.B_mc.listB.play();
gotoAndStop(1);
Now the script in the listB:
In the frames 1 and 5 i am writing the script : stop();

if (_global.a==1)
_root.papa.A_mc.list_A.play(); // here after the listA has
closed i give the order to listB to stretch.
gotoAndStop(1);
Now the results.
Unfortunately it works only in one way.
I mean that when listB is stretched and the user press the
buttonA, the listB - which was stretched - is coming back and after
it closes the listA stretches.
But when listA is stretched and the user press the buttonB,
the listA - which was stretched - pulls back ( that's ok until now
), but then the listB doesn' t stretch.
I have made enough changes in the script but i can't find a
solution.
Could someone help me please ?
It is an argent because i have only two week to deliver the
site to the customer.

I restarted firefox 4 with Add-Ons Disabled. Go to Help and use the Down Arrow key to select the Restart with Add-Ons Disabled option.
A startup box with options will show up. Do NOT select any of the options unless you want to disable the item permanently. It started in SAFE MODE and then there were no problems at all with the Menus. I simply Customized some of the menu bars and then restarted. Now all the Add-Ons are back, the menu bars are where I had them before AND the Drop-down Menus are WORKING!!!
