Electron bank posting rule and account

I have one posting rule as follows:
Z003 posting area:1 40 acc(debit) ZINCOMING  50 ZBANK  posting type 01, on account posting key:04 (other receivable)
posting area:2   50 ZINCOMING  posting type 7
my question is what does on account posting key:04 do?
I define account +++++ for Zbank and +++++2 for ZINCOMING, so how other receivable is posted, to which account? thanks

My second posting rule  Z005 says
Z005 posting area:1, no posting key, acct(debit): Zoutgoing  posting key: 50 acct(credit) ZBANK
posting type:4 (clear debit GL account)
so during bank statement upload FF.5, what's the posting?
Dr: out going bank account Cr: bank account
Dr: XYZ  Cr: out going bank account?
in first posting, is posting key 40 for debit side?

    Dear Friends,
Can any one please explain me the derivation rules. I started the chapter with the Posting Control and Account Determination in that:
    Posting Control define:
    Company Code
    Acrl Type
    Accounting Principle
    Account determination:
    Target account
    Source account
    document type
but if you see in the configuration in Derivation Rules:
It gives a different configuration like
    Posting Control
    Acct Princpl.
    Accrl Type
    COA
    Process in accrul Engine
    Own Parameter
    Acct Determination
    Doc. Type
    Start Account
    Target Account
    Own Parameter
in this I am really get confused what is derivation rule in the accrul engine.
Can anyone please summarize for the same.
    Thanks in advance
    Mahendra Dev

    Hi
Derivation Rule - is nothing but the deriving the values based on some criteria mentioned in the configuration.
Derivation rules you can see in the PCA (Profit Center Accounting) , CO-PA (Profitability Analysis).
This contains the different steps based on the requirement.

  • Posting periods and account segmentation

the company has several suboffice/division, but they want all under one company in B1. also they receive some of they invoices 2 months lates. Data migration will go back 2 years. So what is best way to set up posting period and account segmentation.

    Hello,
Take a look at this thread and copied to your notepad :
    Division in SAP Business One
    about how to create suboffice/division.
The posting period can be created go back more than 1 years from now as long when performing data migration, do not forget to set the current period that match with your data dates. The invoices and other opening balances can be migrated using DTW templates.
So, I suggest you could create posting period more than 2 years ago in the last time and create 2 segmented accounts consists of sub office and division beside natural account. E.g. :
12111-01-02 : 12111 is natural account, 01 is suboffice code and 02 is division.

    Hi Siva,
In Lay man Term, On Account baiscally means posting to a suspense account when the system is not able to identify against which document the payments have ben received from the customer. Eg, the customer just transfer X amount to your account without any details as to against which billings the paymemt has been made. Then you can seek a clarification from the customer and based on that, you will be able to identity the payments where made against which billings and clear them accordingly.
Your Posting rule definition seems to be correct. But if you want the system to post 'on account' to a customer, it should be in a position to first identify the customer. So, in the step, 'Assign External transactions types to posting rules' you should assign the posting rule to a BAI code (or any external code depending upon the file format you use for Bank statement). In this step you also assign the correct algorithm (01-Standard Algorith or 31-Document number search or your custom algorithm).
Then while uploading your bank statement in FF_5 or FF.5 (you have to give the document number range against BELNR number interval in the box titled 'Algorithms' or XBELNR number interval. Now the system will identify the customer by Invoice number or XBELNR number. Then if the invoice number and amount matches it will clear the open item and post. If the Invoice number or amount does not match, it will post on account.
Even after doing all the above the system might not be in a position to idenfity the customer because it could not find  the invoice number or the XBELNR. In such cases you can use search string functionality and try to identify the customer based on the information sent by the bank in the 88 record (note to payee information). Normally wires come with customer name in the 88 record and they will not give invoice details because the number of invoices would be so much that it might not fit into the 88 record. Then you post 'on account' and later clear it manually.
    Cheers
    Vivek

  • GL account issue with Electronic Bank Statement

    Hi Gurus,
I need your help and advice with the following issue. We are using ECC 6.0 and have implemented electronic bank statement. It is working fine but we havea new requirements.
Presently all the incoming ACH (ACH in) are being posted to one GL account set- up for such payments +++++++++1. Going forward, we want to post customer incoming ACH payments to seperate GL account and all the other incoming ACH's should keep on posted to the old account +++++++++1. I do not have exposure to configuring EBS and not sure how should I configure this.
I would really apreciate if you can guide me with step by step details to do this set-up.
    Thanks,
    Best Regards,
    Shalu

Usually ACH in or outgoing, the corresponding bank will send you a code.
so once you get into the config item for EBS
    1. you create account symbols( ACHPAY and ACHPAY2) and assign accounts (++++1 and a debit account ++++2) respectively
    2. Create posting keys, usually this is mimicked with a Z attached to the bank code for ACH payments (EX: 675 is the BAI code for ACH, create a posting key with Z675)
    3. create rules for the same posting keys like debit and credit account symbols, doc types, what kind of postings it should post( clearing entry or posting to GL)
    4. Create a transaction type and in the following step create external transaction types (usually bank BAI codes) and map them to posting rules and the processing types
    5. finally map bank accounts to transaction types

  • Electronic bank statement config- account determination

    Hi,
I want to post the following entry through electronic bank statement upload.
    Bank Main GL account DR
TO Bank collection clearing account(Sub account)
In the posting rule I have given debit posting key& account symbol for main account posting. But credit side i did not give posting key and account symbol. I have selected the option Clear credit GL account.
However system is not picking credit GL account automatically eventhough algaritham is matching to clear automatically.
Some peoples in team  are advising to add House bank and account ID fields in the create/bank/interest tab of Collection clearing account GL. Some other experts are advising to maintain credit side  posting key & account symbol also in the posting rule itself.
Please let us know what should be done to propose credit GL and clear automatically by the system .
    Regards,
    Seetha  Ramaiah
    91-8978977978

In the posting rule, you need to maintain an account symbol for the credit side.  Since you have selected the clear credit GL account option, you need to leave the posting key blank on the credit site.

  • Electronic bank statement global setting and search string usage

In electronic bank statement configuration, there are two major places to setup the data
    1) Make Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement
    2) Define Search String for Electronic Bank Statement
When bank statements are imported and possessed via FF_5, which of the above configuration will take priority.  I'm now using BAI2 bank statement

The Global Settings are required for loading bank statements.  The Search String configuration is optional.  Search strings are used in to override and/or augment the Global settings.
For example, you might have a BAI code that is used by the bank for 2 (or more) different types of postings.  You can only assign one posting rule in the Global Settings.  However, you can use a search string to assign a different posting rule to transactions based on the note to payee information.  So this is a case where the search string overrides the Global settings.
Or you might have transactions that need to be cleared based on reference information from the bank statement.  You would assign the posting rule and appropriate interpretation algorithm via the Global Settings, however you might need a search string to get the reference information from the note to payee.
    Hope this information helps.

  • Posting rules defined in account key in table T007B

    Hello Expert,
I am trying to post a document in FB60, however SAP generates below message

  • Electronic Bank Statement (EBRS)

    Dear Experts
My client so far BRS is doing manually through T.Code: FF67 or FF68.
Initially the configuration is done wit two GL accounts, (1) Main bank account ending with +++++++0 ,(2) Outgoing clearing account ending with ++++++1 and there is no incoming clearing account, whenever the client issue the cheque credit to the outgoing clearing account and debit to the vendor account and whenever receive the cheque Debit to the Incoming clearing account is debit & Credit to the Customer. and the same manual BRS is completed very weel without problems.
But now as per client requirement I have to do run Electronic bank reconcilation in the system using T.code : FF_5. I have received  file format SWIFT MT940 from banks about 5banks and rest of the banks around 25 babnks  they have to continue with manual BRS FF67 / 68 only.
so i should not change the configuration , so i have to continue with existing configuration and have to complete the EBRS using with two GL account (main bank, outgoing clearing ) , if i continue with existing configuration shall i complete the EBRS with extra additional settings (Assign External Transaction Types to Posting Rules, and Assign Bank Accounts to Transaction Types ) using T.Code: FF_5.
what is the impact, whether i can complete  EBRS or not, kindly advice on this how i have to procssed futher.
Please advice on this and what is the impact on EBRS or manuall BRs.

    Hi ,
there are two different Different Transcations to maintain for EBRS and MBS..there will not b any impact.
the only difference is you will manually upload the File in FF.5 and where as for Manual you will update manually throw FF67/68.
After uploading the file ,you can check in FEBA For reconcilation.
PLease Correct me if I am worng

    Hi,
no problem working with two accounts in your business process. In this case your reconciliation will be like  before.
Anyhow FF_5 (FF.5) or FF67 do the same thing. Post transactions from the bank statement. To learn more about the accounts used in your company check the transaction OT83.

    Hi,
    You will have to
create and assign business transactions to posting rules,
    (ii) create account symbols,
(iii) assign accounts to account symbols,
(iv) create keys for posting rules,
    (v) define posting rules,
    (vi) create transaction types,
(vii) assign external transaction types to posting rules and
(viii) assign bank accounts to transaction types.
In posting EBS, you receive an electronic file from bank which consists of external transaction type and you post it in SAP using FF_5.
    Assign points if helpful.

  • Electronic bank mt940 step by step configuration document

    hi all,
can any body send me a step by step electronic bank mt940 configuration document.
Its little bit important we are implementing mt940 format.
    regards,

Hello, Hope the following information is helpful. There are different programs to upload electronic bank statement. FF.5 or FF_5. I think your case Multicash format you are using. You need have three files in FF.5 and two files in FF_5 You can prepare a Z program in order to truncate the electronic bank statement into two or three part files and save them on the application server. 1. Take all the external codes list from bank. 2. Take any available documentation from the Bank describing the relevance of the external codes. 3. Make sure that your Chart of Accounts (Bank Accounts) last digits logic is appropriate to meet the requirements. 4. Based on this decide the Account Symbols that are required to be created. 5. Make sure that the masking rules are configured properly. 6. Decide the posting rules that needs to be created. 7. Link up your external symbols provided by the bank with Posting rules and give proper algorithms for posting and clearing logic. 6. Concentrate on the posting areas to be posted while uploading the bank statement. Further explanation would help you to understand the functionality when uploaded the electronic bank statement. Main purpose of uploading the bank statement into SAP is to make your Bank Main Account and physical bank statement balance in sync. You do not have any traditional Bank Reconciliation Statement (BRS) report in SAP. SAP is normally you maintain bank main account and bank sub account. Whenever you make a payment through F-53 or F-58 or F110, the entry would be: Vendor Account Dr To Bank Sub Account The ending digits of the sub-account would be important in configuring the masking rule. Based on this masking rule when you upload the bank statement the entry the system would pass is: Bank Sub Account Dr To Bank Main Account It depends on the configuration, either the sub account will be cleared by the system automatically or you need to run F.13 to clear the sub accounts. At the time of receipts, you have different accounting entries unlike payments. It needs to post to two posting areas. 1. GL Accounting 2. Sub-Ledger Accounting The entries would system itself pass is: Bank Main Account Dr To Bank Sub Account Bank Sub Account Dr To Cutomer account. Clearing logic mentioned for your posting rules and the alogrithm used for your external bank symbols will also play pivotal role in clearing the accounts. Ideally you will use FF67 / FF.5 / FF_5 for uploading manual or electronic bank statement FEBA / FEBA_BANK_STATEMENT is used for furthe rprocessing. GO THROUGH SAP NOTE 48854 Please go through SAP Note. 48854. You will get an idea regarding the functionality of the algorithms. Though this note is in relevant to GB specific, you will find this very useful. description follows below regarding the normal procedure for maintaining table T028G. Due to the different bank codes and posting rules, pre-Customizing is not possible at this point. The following processing types are available - unless stated otherwise, you should use the interpretation algorithm: '000 - No interpretation' in each case. 1. '00': There is no processing. The entry line is ignored. 2. '01': A validation is made whether an entry exists for the transferred check number in the check table (PAYR). The check number and payment document number are transferred for further processing. Interpretation algorithm: outgoing check processing '011'-'013'; the update in the check file is via the interpretation algorithm. 3. '02': Transfer of the ending balance to the electronic bank statement 4. '03': Transfer of the opening balance to the electronic bank statement 5. '04': Clearing via the allocation number which is delivered with the bank statement. No interpretation algorithm. 6. '05': Clearing of BACS payments or BACS bank collection. The reference text field is first read to ascertain whether it involves payments initiated by users or bank collection via BACS. Providing it does involve a cash transaction initiated by the user, the payment document numbers concerned are determined via the reference number and transferred as a reference to further processing. Interpretation algorithm: '000 - No interpretation' or '019 - Reference number DME'. Note To differentiate between the two procedures in table T028G, you have to maintain two separate entries. Example: the bank uses bank code '62' for cash receipts and for BACS bank collection. Ext. Transaction +/- sign Posting rule Int. Algorithm Processing type 62 + GB62 001 5 62 SAPBACS + GB63 000 5 7. '06': Bank costs or interest revenues Recommended interpretation algorithm: '000 - No interpretation' 8. '07': Total amount of cash disbursements 9. '08': Total amount of cash receipts 10. '09': Items not paid Recommended interpretation algorithm: '000 - No interpretation' Regards, Ravi
