Electronic Signature using SAPUI5?

Dear UI5 Gurus,
Can we Implement Electronic/Digital Signatures using SAPUI5? Consider a business scenario which might require this functionality for some sort of auditing purpose based on Production Order Confirmation/Updation.
Thank you in advance!

  • Multiple Electronic Signatures using Signature PAD

    Hello Experts,
We have a requirement where we need to capture the electronic signature on thee PDF form at different time. This means I fill the PDF form get the 1st electronic signature using signature PAD and then saved the form. I open the same form and then take the 2nd signature. When we are taking the 2nd signature on the saved form it's making the form and signature invalid.
Please let me know if there's a restriction by Adobe PDF such that you can't accept the signature once it's signed and saved.
    Thanks, Ritesh

Yes, that's an e-signature. An option if you need to set up multiple e-signatures is to use stamps. They can be flattened individually, which converts them to regular page contents. The Acrobat help has more information on using stamps and you can use the following free JavaScript-based utility to flatten them after they're applied if you want: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Electronic signatures using password

I am currently upgrading a v5 application to 6i and want to implement some form of signature checking.
Currently the application uses OLE2 to lock the screen after 60 seconds. Entering the users password frees the screen for input.
What I would like to do is to get the user to re-enter their password as part of the key-commit trigger.
I have tried setting up a password block with a password field and button, but I would like to put something into the library that works for all forms.
Does anybody have any examples or experiances (good or bad) of this?

Whose Signature is needed on the PO ? How will this "signature" print ?
Oracle seems to support Buyer and Supplier Contact signatures.
If Supplier signature is needed , then you need I-Supplier portal for the supplier to sign electronically. The signature process in I-Supplier portal is only a userid/password screen that stores the name of the supplier.
I do see a record in the ERES for both buyer and supplier .....
but how is this to be printed on the PO itself ? Do I need to write some custom code to print this signature ?

  • Adobe X Std - Electronic Signatures and Flattening Document

We are experimenting with Electronic signatures using Adobe X std.  Once a signature is added to a document, we want to flatten the document so that the signature and all other annotations can not be changed.   I have found the javascript code needed to flatten documents and it works fine for all annotations, but not for the signatures.   After adding a signature and choosing to flatten the document, I get the error:
NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.
    Doc.flattenPages:266:App FlattenPages:Exec
I don't know what security settings or other changes are needed to prevent the error.   Help would be greatly appreciated!

Validating signatures is the normal and most important thing about them. That is how they work. This is fundamental stuff which you must explain to the users of the document as surely as they need to know how to use a pen for paper signatures.
Consider: if you come upon a PDF that is signed by your boss, how do you know it is signed by your boss? Because the signature has his name on it? Hardly the proof needed to fire a man or release a million dollars.
But if your boss sent his public key to you before, you can check the signature in the file against the public key, and this is absolute proof.  Validating has to be done every single time, otherwise it is like sending a paper document with "trust me, this one's fine" written on a sticky note.
However, a group of people can share signatures and arrange that validation is automatic when files are opened. Don't know the details.

  • Delete default electronic signature

I created an "electronic signature" using Adobe Reader (NOT digital signature, rather one that looks like my hand written signature).
Now, if I do Sign -> Place Signature, it uses the signature I previously "took", without offering to create a new one.
Problem is, I'm not happy with the current one.
How do I get Adobe Reader to allow me to make a new signature, and make it the default?
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader.  It retained the undesired signature.
    Thanks

    Hi Bannerdog58,
When you go to Sign--> Place Signature, you will get a drop down arrow and it gives option to clear previous signature. Please see the screenshot below:

  • How to use electronic signature

    how to use electronic signature

    Hi William,
An electronic signature is not a cryptographic operation, but rather something akin to typing in your name or attaching a stamp. A digital signature uses a public / private key pair (aka a digital ID) and cryptographically binds the signature to the document so that if the document is altered it will break the signature, thus ensuring document integrity.
If you are truly looking for a secured method of creating an electronic signature you should do to http://www.echosign.com and subscribe to the service.
If you want to learn about digital signatures I'd start at http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/certificate-signatures.html

  • Can I create PAdES signature using Adobe Acrobat 8.0 or 9.0?

    Hi
Can I create PAdES (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures, Technical Specification ETSI TS 102 778) signature using Adobe Acrobat 8.0 or 9.0?
ETSI Technical Specification (TS) 102 778 contains five parts:
    • Part 1: PAdES Overview – a framework document for PAdES
    • Part 2: PAdES Basic – Profile based on ISO 32000-1
    • Part 3: PAdES Enhanced – PAdES-Basic Electronic Signatures and PAdES-Explicit Policy Electronic Signatures Profiles
    • Part 4: PAdES Long Term – PAdES-Long Term Validation Profile
    • Part 5: PAdES for XML Content – Profiles for XAdES signatures of XML content in PDF files
All five parts were published on 31 July 2009.
    Thanks for answer.
    Dragan

    Hi,
    The short answer is yes.
Acrobat 8 and later support all of requirements of PAdES such as serial signing, long term validation (time stamping and embedded revocation responses) and signatures in the PKCS#7 format.

  • Can I open a Reader 9 Document with electronic signatures in Reader 10?

I currently have an Adobe Reader 9 document with fields filled out and also with several electronic signatures.
I need to be able to edit this document.
My understanding is that I can only edit or add the typewritter tool only when using Reader 10.
So couple of questions. First, will I be able to open this Reader 9 document using Reader 10?
Second, will I be able to add the typewritter tool once I download Reader 10?
Third, will I be able to make changes to existing form field data, once I add the typewritter tool?
Fourth, will this process invalidate the digital signatures already authenticated?

The "Typewriter tool" is only available in Acrobat Pro. Reader 11 DOES have the ability to "Add text comments" to a PDF but it isn't exactly the same thing. I'm unsure if "comments" will print or not.

  • General questions regarding capturing electronic signatures

    Hi Guys,
    Have some questions....
Are electronic signatures supported in BPM and if yes any idea what types of signature? what standards are used, whether they are legally accepted and whether this is part of the package or a separate application.
can the processes support multiple signatures at multiple stages, signifying different levels of approval?
Could you provide some idea on how electronic signatures are recorded and retained and how the process or document remains fixed once signed?
    Thanks in advace.

this is more application related. nothing to do with BPM.

  • Printing issue with Electronic Signatures

In the footer of my document, i place document properties and also use the captioning feature for tables and figures. I have saved it in native 2010 format not in a compatability mode.
When I print my document (paper or PDF) these fields print properly.
After I electronically sign the document and look at the document on the screen, the fields and caption numbers (Table 1-1: Intended Audience) appear correctly. When I print to PDF or paper, the numbers disappear (Table 1-: Intended Audience) and they
    also disappear from the screen.
When I close the document and reopen it, the fields are correct. It only changes after the document prints.
Using Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 Version 14.0.6023.1000 (32-bit).
    (--merging--)
The original document was a 2007 document opened/stored in the 2010 format.
Reproduced with new 2010 document simply by creating two properties:
    Template Version - Test - Value 1.0
    Template Date - Date - Value 1/25/2012
    And doing the following:
Using the default Normal template with calibri as the font
Added a heading level 1 to the document
Added a 2x2 table with Insert Caption including the chapter number based on heading 1 below the table
Added the template version and template date as two lines on the page
    Inserted a signature line
Created a footer with the template version, page number aligned center (via tab), template date alighted right (via tab)
Printed without signing and all data was present (Table 0-1: Test)
Signed the document and printed. The following was missing:
The template date in the footer.
The table label was Table 0-: Test
The template date was present in the middle of the document

    Hi,
Is this problem only affect Word program with Electronic Signatures?
Please try to test Printing with different printer drivers.
If the Word printing problem occurs only when you print documents with a certain font or a certain type of graphics image, try to print to another printer.
If no other printer is available, contact the manufacturer to find out whether there is an updated version of the driver or a different driver that works with your printer model.

  • Electronic signature in merged documents?

I am trying to create a new document using multiple files. Some of these files contain electronic signatures. Can the electronic signatures be preserved in the merged document?

A digital signature applies to an entire document. If you somehow combine documents that contain digital signatures, any signatures cannot be verified since the document to which they apply has been changed.
You can add documents to a PDF as file attachments (aka embedded files), which is what you do when you create a portfolio. The individual documents can later be extracted and any signatures can be verified.

  • Troubleshooting Electronic Signature in Adobe X Standard

Trying to assist a coworker in setting up an electronic signature with password.  When walking her through the screens, I noticed the "Add Digital ID" popup box does not show "Key Algorith" or "Use digital ID for" sections (mine does).  She does not get the prompt to make up a password and enter twice.  She says that she gets a box that wants her to enter a password but she has not created one.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.  I am new to Adobe so I am limited in my knowledge.

Employee states this solved the password problem but now her written signature is extremely small when placed on a document.

  • Acrobat 11.0.7 electronic signature error, "There was an error when attempting to commit this signature".

Since updating to Acrobat 11.0.7, the electronic signature function has broken. Users receive an error message when trying to insert an electronic signature "There was an error when attempting to commit this signature. The document was not saved. The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder. The document could not be signed. HFT error. This file is already open or in use by another application."
Error occurs even after saving the PDF locally and renaming. This issue is affecting multiple users and has never occurred in previous versions of Acrobat installed. Temporary workaround is to rollback users to Acrobat 11.0.6.

Can you try to manually download and install the update from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5000

  • Electronic Signatures for my company

    Hello,
I am currently researching how to convert my companies practice from printing forms to using electronic forms. I'm wondering what's the best way to create and distribute electronic signature to every user on our network. I do not want people to have to go through the procress of creating self-signed digital IDs (if they don't have to) because not everyone in the company is computer savy to a actually go through. I'm also looking for users to be able to use their signatures on different computers.
My question is this, what's the best method for a small-sized company to obtain and distribute electronic signatures? Should I look for a third-party product? If so, what are they your recommendations.
    -Robert

    Either.
I must confess to admit, I’m not sure which one would be better for my needs. As a beginner, I guess I’ll need something that’s easy to manage (for both myself and the company) while able to prevent users from signing as someone else.
