Elements Organizer 12 Has Stopped Working -- Why?

The program opens fine. Then, while sitting idle the organizer keeps crashing..... Why?

Two suggestions:  the first one is a workaround. You just have to drill down your program file tree to Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer and find the .exe file - the one specifically for Organizer, not Elements.  Make a shortcut to that file on your desktop and it will open Organizer. The second suggestion resolved the problem altogether for me. I actually called Dell and after working with several different techs over several different days, I talked to a tech in premium support who was excellent. I discovered from them that it is actually a problem with the windows system files. I have 8.1.  I went through a "refresh" on my computer which rebuilt all the files. Then reinstalled Adobe as well as my other programs again and Photoshop Elements Organizer works from the standard desktop shortcut.

I bought PSE12 to fix this problem I had with PSE11, but it didn't,  Immediately after accessing PSE12 Orhanizer, I get the Windows message saying "Elements Organizer 12 has stopped working". It then forces me to close the program.

Did you change the pref settings? If not give it a try.
    Close Organizer and go to:
    C:\Users\99jon\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\12.0\Organizer
Substitute your own user name or click the Windows start button
Then click your name followed by AppData
In the Organizer folder re-name the psa file as psa_old
Close the folder and re-launch Organizer
If you can’t see AppData it may be a hidden system file. Follow these steps to display hidden files and folders. Then rename psa.
Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
    Click the View tab.
Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.

I then found one suggestion that the problem might involve permissions. The suggestion was to right click PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe in its installation folder (which on my computer is at at D:\Photo\Elements 11 Organizer) and run Organizer as an administrator. This also failed.
I don't understand why running the exe from the installation folder would have worked.
I would have simply tried to run that exe from its real location :
Sorry, I can't help you more about permissions...

  • Elements 12 Optimizer has stopped working

    I use Windows 8.1
When I try to add music to my slide shows I get this message  " Elements 12 Optimizer has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
I have contacted Microsoft who  has investigated thoroughly the issue from their perspective. Their advice  is what t I need now is for Adobe to tell me how to remove the add-in or plug in that's causing this crash."
I hope someone can assist as at the moment Photoshop 12 (which I have had for 2 months) is not doing what I bought it for.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop 12 twice and have ensured that all the latest updates have been added.

The problems happens with all project with Apple MOV file from my Canon SD780 a 720 30 frame  H.264 file

The videos were imported from the folder since i already had the files before i bought Elements

With the new nVidia drivers, the first thing that you will want to do will be to go to the nVidia console and disable 3D Sterevision. No Adobe program can use it. It is designed for gamers with the 3D Stereovision goggles.
If that does not fix things, go back to the console and disable PhysX. It too is a gamer module.
    Good luck,

    Try the licensing service update:

  • Photoshop elements 12 editor has stopped working.

This is the error message I get.  Photoshop elements 12 editor has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The programme opens and then crashes.  I took it all off my computer and then reloaded it again but have the same message.  If anyone can help I would be grateful.@

Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
    Solution 1:
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  12\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

  • Elements 7 editor has stopped working

Dear elements 7 community, I have using elements 7 for four years on my windows 7 computer with very little problem. It seemed a very stable program. This program came free. I also use Lightroom 4
However now my elements editor has stopped working. Either a windows dialogue box appears stating that elements is not responding and it is looking for solutions. Or more often you try and launch one of the editing suites like "guided edits" and it starts to load for a second and then reverts back to the fix page. An edit in progress message appears across the loaded image even though nothing was achieved.
Could any of you accomplished users tell me the problem. Feel free to ask for more information. Thank you

No. It would have fixed it if that were the issue.
Did you make sure you have enough virtual memory allocated for Photoshop Elements to use when you went through the troubleshooting. I have a DELL. I had to change my virtual memory setting to get Photoshop CS3 to run.  With the factory Page File setting, Photoshop would crash immediately with the generic Windows message about Photoshop needing to close and Windows is looking for a solution.
    See this document for specifics.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404939.html
On the Vista machine: Unless you have UAC (Vista's User Account Control) turned off,  you'll have to be the administrator and give permission to yourself to do this. Not sure about your Windows 7 machine...
Step 4 in the above is a bit vague. They want you to click under System on the sentence that says "See the name of this computer". In the screen that pops up, look in the left hand pane for "Advanced System Settings" and click it. In the dialog that pops up select the "Advanced tab". In the box that is headed by Performance, click Settings. Next go to the "Advanced" tab that comes up in this dialog. Next to the word Virtual Memory click the change button. Change to desired custom size on this screen.
Here's a tut with screen shots:
    http://www.windowsreference.com/windows-vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory-page-file- size-in-vista/
If you don't know the amount of RAM, your computer has:  Click the Vista start icon; then right click the word computer in the right hand pane; select Properties. A screen displaying all of your computer specs including amount of RAM installed will come up.

  • Why do I keep getting the message "Photoshop Elements 13 Editor has stopped working" when I try to open Photoshop?

Every time I try to launch Photoshop it stops working. Adobe customer support was not able to help me resolve the issue. Does anyone have a fix? Thank you

Next time try starting it while holding down Ctrl+alt+shift (cmd+option+shift on a mac). Keep the keys down till you hopefully see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Has Stopped Working

I am running PSE 8.0 on my Windows 7 pc. I installed it about two weeks ago and it ran fine. As of early this week after launching, I get to the opening screeen where I can Organize or Edit (or go to the the advertisements or tour). If I start the tour I get the above message. I reinstalled (after uninstalling) and I get the same thing.
The message also states "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". And there is a close button.
I can get to the edit screen if I open a photo and select PSE as the program, but when I try to go to Organizer, I get this.
    Any ideas?
    Jeff

Unfortunately, there are many reasons why the PSE Organizer might crash, and often it is hard to diagnose quickly the reason for the crash.   Here are some steps you can take to try to fix the problem:
