EM view setup is failing in secure agent step

EM view setup is failing in secure agent step.
Is it known issue ?
Any WA available ?
Thanks
-Ashish

Since you don't have had any reaction yet it may be time to a bit more specific. "EM view setup" does not ring a bell to me.
What are you trying to do?
OMS/Agent version? Platform?

    10.2.0.5
both agent and oms at latest psu.
    Linux Redhat 4.
As a test, trying to secure the agent that is on the same server as the OMS. I am secure it against a VIP, since we have active/passive failover.
I already secured my oms against the VIP. It is running. I can reach grid control through the VIP. The agent functions fine against the regular IP before securing.
    On this step:
    $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl secure agent -emdWalletSrcUrl https://<virtual_hostname>:<upload_port>/em
I just get a failed. Here are the errors from the log. I got 2.

I have same setup like you. I configured it a long time ago, so stuff are a bit fuzzy in my head!
I remember I deleted the old wallet file, changed the REPOSITORY_URL and emdWalletSrcUrl in emd.properties in AGENT_HOME/sysman/config to use the VIP hostname. Then ran "emctl secure agent".
Please note the upload port and SSL usage are different for wallet and repository URLs.
    What I changed:
    REPOSITORY_URL=https://<virtualhostname>:1159/em/upload
    emdWalletSrcUrl=http://<virtualhostname>:4889/em/wallets/emd
    What I Didn't change:
    EMD_URL=http://<physicalhostname>:3872/emd/main/
This will automatically change to HTTPS after successfully securing agent.

The blackberry stopped receiving email as of Dec 22.  it does reeive Registration messages from blackberry. The browser still works.  I contacted the provider and the network is functioning correctly.   I have deleted the email setup several times and set it up again; I have removed the battery and restarted and reset up the email.  This involves a hotmail.ca account.  During email setup it checks for update and indicates the mailbox is set up and then it wants to reconcile contacts and that is when the Activation Failed; an error was encountered when sending the activation transmission notice appears.  When I use the browser to go to hotmail.ca and login, I can see all my email up to date and then an error message pops up indicating, Server Certificate Warning and when I select Details; it inidcaes untrusted certificate; unable to determine certificate's origin; when I view the certificate it identifies X h.live.com  Untrusted Certificate Chain; Stale Chain Status etc...  It's like the hotmail.ca or live.com is corrupted...how do I fix it.  The only thing I have not doe is to use the Security tool to Wipe email.  Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated.

  • Security setup operations failed: creating system keys

I have just downgraded my T60 laptop from Vista to windows xp using the lenovo CD's.
Everything seems to be working well, except that each time I boot up the computer, the lenovo security setup software runs.  If I follow the menus all the way through, I get to the following error on the last screen:
"your security settings have been configured however, one or more setup operations failed: creating system keys"
There was also a message that previously briefly flashed during the bootup (on the "bios" screen?) which stated that the system was designed to use fingerprints to protect something or other, but this was not enabled.  However:  I then ran all updates for windows xp and for lenovo drivers etc.  This message has now gone away (and unfortunately I didn't write it down).
I'm guessing the failure to "create system keys" results in the software running each time I boot up.
Another possibility:  I have not yet enabled the symantec security, as I intend to uninstall it and use other virus protection software.  Could this be causing the"failure to create system keys"?
(The fingerprint reader works fine, and reads my fingerprint at the windows logon screen.)
**UPDATE**:  uninstalled symantec security software, and this had no effect.

  • OMS 11g failing in "Agent Configuration" phase - securing agent

I'm installing OMS 11g on an Oracle Linux 5 (x64) server and it's failing on the agent configuration step. When I look in the logs I found that it was failing on securing the agent and that there were ssl errors and timeouts.
Has anybody else had this problem?

If you have 10.3.3 installed it will fail on the "OMS Configuration step". I am also failing on the "Agent Configuration" step. You don't happen to know what ports need to be open for securing an agent do you?
    EDIT:
Seems like there might be some answers here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11857_01/install.111/e16847/firewalls.htm#BABIGHDH
I am not very smart about firewalls/network diagrams but it looks like the agent will need 3782 for incoming secure communications, and 1159 for outgoing secure communications if you used the default ports

EDIT: Seems like in my case all the ports are open, but it times out on the genwallet function. This is what I see in my $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/log/secure.log for the agent home.

How can i change the Password?
    Rgds

Not sure what you trying to do here.
The password you should use when securing your agent, should be the password you entered during installation.
The installer has asked you to enter a password to secure the Management Server.
The password you entered here, should be used when securing agents that must upload to this OMS

  • Create setup package failed

    Hello,
I try to create a setup package in NetWeaver Mobile Administrator. I created a device configuration with the framework and one with DB2E and  XMAM application.
I assigned this to a hierarchy and added the technical user mi_service.
When I create a package it stops and in the log viewer I see :
    0050 tc.mobile.admin.bl  172815 20070223 Retrieving device id failed.
In the step before (which is OK) I see:
    0070 tc.mobile.admin.bl  172812 20070223 Set the communication server port to 45001
Which port is this? Don't know this one...
    Anyone else got this problem?
    Kind regards,
    jeroen

    Hi Jeroen,
when you do setup package creation leveraging the NWMA you have to use a platform based on WIN32. Say your J2EE needs to run on a Windows 32 Box. If you run your J2EE on a different platform you can setup an additional J2EE for SPC. Refer to the how to guides section for doing so (e.g. for NW04 see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80046076-a387-2910-4ba2-c009be46ab60).
What SPC does is simulating a typical user installation, say it installs a client on the J2EE, syncs to get a device ID, syncs again to get apps and data. In the end all gets packed together.
If you get the error that the device ID cannot be received it can have several reasons:
    - Client cannot startup on the J2EE (e.g. unsupported platform)
    - Services not correctly enabled in SICF (e.g. not active, wrong service user/password)
What you can do is check in the SPC Folder on the J2EE for the temporary installation folder and check the client traces, they will typically point you to a solution. Since SP19, I guess, these logs can as well be downloaded in the NWMA (where typically the setup package would be ready for download).
    Hope this helps,
    Thomas
PS: If you keep stuck may post the log files of your tmp client

  • Invalid agent registration password when trying to secure agent

    Hi Guys,
looking for some help with an issue im having trying to secure a 10.2.0.4 agent against 10g OEM.
A little background, the agent has been running succesfully against an OEM server which is now being decomissioned. I have editied the emd.properties file in order to point to the new server. I can start the agent ok, so far, so good. however when I try to run "emctl secure agent" I get:
    Enter Agent Registration password :
    Agent successfully stopped... Done.
    Securing agent... Started.
Requesting an HTTPS Upload URL from the OMS... Done.
Requesting an Oracle Wallet and Agent Key from the OMS... Failed.
Failed to contact the OMS at the HTTP URL set in /ford/app/oracle/OracleHomes/agent10g/sysman/config/emd.properties
The password im entering works when connecting to dbsnmp in the database.
    The sysman/log/secure.log file contains this:
[main] ERROR sec.GetWallet - caught Exception java.lang.Exception: szOmsSeed exception java.lang.Exception: szOmsSeed error: ERROR:203:Invalid agent registration password
    [13-03-2009 09:52:48] USERINFO :: Failed.

[13-03-2009 09:52:48] USERINFO ::The Agent has not been secured.
    Any ideas?

    thanks for your responses guys.
as yet I dont have access to the GC environment at this stage, as the new oem is hosted and managed by a separate team. (sorry, would've helped to mention that).
Re firewall, it should be ok I think, I can telnet succesfully to 4889 & 1159, 3872 is open the other way.

  • Setup has failed to automatically login to the server ServerMachine

    Hello,
This error appears when installing the sboclient in a WINXP machine.
Setup has failed to automatically login to the server <ServerMachine>
It asks for the userID and Password, and even if I type the correct user and password it doesn't do anything.
I can access the machine from the windows explorer, it is in a vmware.
    Anyone with the same problem?
    thanks in advance.

    Dear All,
I was facing the same problem and now it is resolved.
You should try the same what I did:
    • Browse the SQL Server CD from a client machine.
    • From the Root installation DIR, (SQL2005 in my case) double click "SPLASH.HTA" file.
    • It will ask for Security Warning, click Run.
    • It will pop up a Windows 2005 Server window.
    • Under the Install heading click on "Run the SQL Native Client Installation Wizard"
    • It will again pop up a security warning message. Click "Run"
    • Follow the instructions for installation.
    • Select all the components including SDK if it asks.
Once it installed, try installing your SAP B1 Client. It must work.
    Best wishes

    Hi Joel,
The following packages are need to compile the 5.2 agent.
    *GCC*
    *kernel-snmp-devel*

I have found a fix after doing additional research through this forum. Tech Note #328730 addresses this problem and it works for Photoshop Album 3.2 even though it was written for release 1.0.
Here is a link that will take you directly to the Tech Note:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=328730
When using this fix the Tech Note indicates:
"Imported image data and tags are lost when you re-create the My Catalog.psa file, so you need to reimport images and reapply any tags"
however it did retain the captions (at least it did for me).
