Email as "text only"

Hello there,
I have a simple question, which sofar I found no answer.
I would like to be able to send my e-mail as "text-only" on my iPad, just like Mail.App on my Mac.
I did not find any settings that let me do that.
This is annoying for me, since any time I do a "copy-paste" in an email, this will keep the formatting, and I don't want to. Moreover, I prefer "text-only" e-mail.
I really wish I could do that.
Can you please provide any ideas or solution (and if this setting works also to the iPhone, it's even better).
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Didsayan

Don't see any option to choose text only, either. The limited info on the November iOS 4.2 update does not give a great deal of information about mail enhancements, though there are some coming. You may have to wait for iOS 4.2 and see if that has the ability to do what you are asking.

I saved a PDF doc in adobe and then added text to the form. But every time I try an email it it only sends the original form without text. Once I've changed a doc in Adobe, how can I save it so that I'm able to use it with added text and notes? Also, I'm using a new iPad.

If you are using those apps or websites, they are likely viewing the PDF using iOS' built in PDF previewing, which will not show annotations and markup to the PDF. We have informed Apple of this issue, but do not have any insight into whether or when they will fix it.
Regarding the qustion about importing pictures, Adobe Reader does not provide any capabilities to import pictures into a PDF. To do this, you'll need to use Acrobat, available on your desktop computer.

  • My ringer is no longer working for text and email notifications. Only working for phone calls. I have gone through all the settings to see where something is off. Not finding anything. I have tried changing the tone and it just vibrates on everything.

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

  • Email and html graphics on iPhone....just seeing text only

I've been testing this and sending myself forwards from my yahoo email and opening the emails in my iPhone, and only get the text only formats. However I can still see the html email on my computer yahoo. I'm forwarding the same email to myself, but on iPhone it only shows as text only. And sometimes it only comes across as 'mime-attachment', and I don't even get the text. This is the case whether I forward the html email from my iphone or my computer back to myself. And also the same whether Wi-Fi or Edge. Thanks!

have you check all your push settings in the email options ?  also.  have you tried to reset network settings to clear any bad network settings that could be preventing it.  go to settings. then general.  and reset and reset network settings.  this will also reset any wifi you have saved.

  • Mail doesn't display full email text, only displays the subject line

Mail doesn't display full email text, only displays the subject line.
My preview shows first three lines of email, but when I chose the email specifically mail doesn't display any lines of text.  Been this way for about ten days.  Please help.  Ben

Awesome.  Rebooting the phone worked.  I had never turned the phone off before (for the next guy - you hold down the "sleep" button for longer than you'd think and that'll do a full shutdown).  thank you for your help.

  • How do I get my Blackberry to only show me email and text messages? OS 6.0

    I'm in a love/hate relationship with OS 6.0 on a Bold 9650
It is giving me too much information.  I only want to see and be notified of email and text messages, but it is now showing me Calendar and Facebook messages and notices.
Can I change the settings and turn off these items?  I can't find anything on it.
    Thanks!!! SheriGNP
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Facebook messages: Open Facebook > press the Menu key > Options > scroll down to and UNselect the option to integrate Facebook with your Messages application.
For both Facebook and Calendar notifications, go to your profiles and set the notications for these two apps to be silent or no notification.
Untill you learn many of the simple features of the BlackBerry 9650, you will be frustrated.

all of sudden my iphone 4s any picture I take outside I cannot forward via email or text and I can only see it, in the camera roll. When I try to open the picture full screen it is blank. Anyone have any ideas to fix it?

Close out of the camera app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
Then do a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Then check your camera roll again.

  • EMOD only sending "text only" emails

EMOD will only send out "text only" versions of emails to all of my test contacts. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a solution for this? I've gone through submitting a SR but not getting any answers that are fixing the problem. I've done every possible thing they've asked me to troubleshoot but the problem still occurs. Any advise for this?

    Hello equipix,
If all messages are being sent as text messages instead of iMessage messages, you may want to double-check that you have an active internet connection available, as outlined in the following article:
Send messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  • Email to text message

Before I switched to an iPhone it was possible for someone to email a message that was received as a text message (SMS). there are times that receiving a text message is much more convenient than checking email. The AT&T web site says it should be possible to do this by emailing a message as follows:
"All AT&T wireless phones are set up to send and receive e-mail messages by using the following address: [email protected] You can exchange short e-mails with any e-mail address worldwide."
However, when I or anyone else tries to do this to my iPhone the email immediately bounces back with the message of "no such user" or something like that.
It is clear that on the iPhone you cannot enter anything other than numbers when you want to text someone but I would be content if I could receive texts that originate as an email.
AT&T says this feature doesn't work on iPhones.
However, I went into an Apple store and an employee successfully emailed a text message to themselves on their iPhone
I think the problem is that AT&T somehow messed up my account so that they don't have a way of accepting an email intended for my text messaging.
Can anyone shed any light on this? I have a 3GS.
    Thanks,
    Pete

    Allan-
you CANNOT enter an email address in the "To:" field of the Message app on an iPhone. first of all the entry keyboard that pops up when you are in the Messages app only has letters and numbers. there is no way to enter the "@" symbol or a ".". even if you copy an email address and paste it into the "To:" field, when you try and send the SMS the "." and the "@" are removed.
give it a try and see what you see.
but, that isn't what I want to do. I want someone sitting at a computer using any old email client to send an email that gets sent to as a SMS. to do that the person should enter:
    [email protected]
when the person does that with my cell phone number, the email gets bounced back. have you tried this on your computer using your cell phone number and the rest of the address above and iPhone and does it work?
    thanks,
    Pete Rock

  • My iPhone no longer gives me audible alerts for email and text messages.  Just stopped. Help.

My iPhone just stopped giving me audible notifications for email and text messages.  It still rings for calls.  I have checked the settings for "Sounds" and they have not changed.  However, in these settings when I try to change the sound I get only the vibration and not the sample sound.  Can anyone help?

  • Email and text messae notifications

I purchase a ringtone.  It only shows up in the ringtones for the phone.  I would like to use it for email and text notification. How do I set it up?

From the Home screen, select Applications and Email.
Touch an account to view it, then touch Menu  and Account settings.
Touch fields to configure the account:
    Notification settings:
    – Email notifications: Enable or disable alerts in the Status Bar.
    – Select ringtone: Choose a ringtone to use for new email alerts.
    – Vibrate: Enable or disable vibration with new email alerts.
Make sure that ringtones are saved in the proper folders.  You can view the folders on the device by connecting the device to the PC.  Ringtones that you want to use should be in the ringtones folder.
Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    Select Menu.
    Select Notifications.
    Select USB connected.
    Select Mount.
From File Explorer / Finder on the computer.
Removable Disk (X represents the SD Card installed in the device. This name may vary.
Use the computer to organize the files into the proper folders.
When done un-mount and disconnect the device from the PC.

  • Email and text messages notifications

I was wondering is there any way to set the iphone so that as soon as you get an email or a text, you are notified immediately. It seems that I am only notified when I update my mail and that's when the phone tells me how many mails I have received. It only happens at that moment.  I want to be notified right away as soon as I receive the email or text.

If you have an email account that supports Push access for received messages which doesn't require having the account checked automatically or manually for new messages, you will hear the new mail notification sound if on when a new message or messages pushed out by the incoming mail server are received along with a badge notification on the Mail app indicating the number of new and unread messages.
If the email account does not support Push access for received messages or this is turned off, you can have the account checked for new messages automatically, which is the Fetch setting and the same will apply when new messages have been received.

  • RINGTONE NOTIFICATIONS FOR TEXTS ONLY

I have a new   DROID RAZR HD by Motorola in White and it is fantastic.  I only want ringtone notifications for TEXTS ONLY.  How do I stop ringtone notifications from email and Facebook which I can wait on, but TEXTS I want to answer asap.

In the individual applications chose a silent tone for email and Facebook notifications. Then in the text message application choose the tone of your choice.

  • Is there a way to create a rule for Apple Mail that when a certain person is a recipient, make the email plain text?

My boss has a blackberry and when I send pdf attachments and copy him, he cannot see the attachments.  I forget to make the email plain text before sending it to him.  I can use Thunderbird as my client and it works fine but it is not linked to the other apps on my mac like Apple Mail.  Can I make a rule or something for Mail so that when his email address is a recipient of the email, it will send as plain text to him?

I don't think so. Not without setting up an AppleScript and I am not proficient with those.
You can, however, set the follolwing in Mail > Preferences > Composing
Responding: Use the same message format as the original message.
But that would only be for responding to messages sent from his Blackberry.

  • In my email accounts I only have access to the past few weeks worth, not months worth?  How do I re-set so I can have all of my past emails, coming and going, in my email account?

I have 2 email accounts on my computer - work and home....I find that I can only see the past few weeks worth of email messages in either account, and the same is true in the "sent" box.  How do I change my settings so that all emails are readily visible to me, or do I have another place to "go to" to find them?

You can use an email program (e.g. Outlook Express or Windows Live or Thunderbird) and disable HTML for that email (text only mode) to access the email account. You can create a new email account if your your ISP supports it or use a online service that allows POP3 access with an email program (most popular services allow that).
