Email editor default font

Hi all,
We are using the email editor in the webclient, which is build-up via javascript.
Now we are experiencing a problem with the default font.
It should be arial 11, but it always shows Times New Roman.
I have already played around with the tables TBTFFONTMAPDEF and TBTFFONTMAP.
This doesn't change anything.
I have deleted the Times new roman font from the table TBTFFONTMAPDEF (then the system dumps). I have set the Arial to language Dutch, but it always takes the language * also. I have deleted all fonts where language was equal to * except for Dutch, but since this is a dropdown, when you click on the box, it closes IE7...
I have already tried filling the TBTFFONTMAP table, since this is a customer table. With no succes.
Does anybody know how I can change this default font??
Thanks in advance.
Micha
helpful answers will be rewarded!

Hello Micha,
Since you don't had any response yet, I'll share my experience in the past concerning this subject.
I've also searched a way to change default font in ICWC 4.0 about two years ago. I didn't find any customization for this, and at the time I don't found any way to change the default font using only custom objects.
I remember that the html dropdown box code is built at RENDER_DEFAULT_FONTNAME method, at class CL_BTF_BSP_EDITOR.
Inside that method there is a call like this:
l_configuration = document->get_configuration( ).
In l_configuration variable, there is an attribute DEFAULT_FONT that is initially setted to value 'TIMES'. Unfortunally, even by changing this value in debugging, it didn't change the default font to another one.
I ended giving up to do this changing (since was not important also). However, I hope this information may help you go a little further...
Maybe in future releases the default font may be included in the email profile
Best of lucks.
Regards,
Bruno

  • Outgoing email not maintaining font selection

When I send out email, my 'Mail' (4.4) program is substituting Times New Roman for Arial fonts in the message text. When I eliminate a 'signature', the font remains Arial. If I create the 'Signature' in Arial, both the 'Signature' font and message font revert to Times New Roman. I have selected Arial as the default font for the message text.
Is there a email editor default setting? by the way, the recipients are all using Outlook for Windows and they have checked their Word Email editor settings.
They have indicated that the style that shows up is 'Apple-Style-Span'

According to this posting https://discussions.apple.com/message/9518120#9518120 you are sending the mail as plain text, and it is the recipient's Outlook that chooses to display plain text in Times New Roman.
Just a note from those of us who are somewhat visually impaired:  when you send an email to someone who has vision problems, the ability of the recipient to READ your email is dependent upon allowing the recipient to SET the preferences on the recipient's email so that the recipient CAN read the email.
If pkuser's company has a policy of forcing their employees to send email out in a format which is inaccessible to the disabled, perhaps they should revisit their policy.  At best it is obnoxious, and it is a poor business practice to force your employees to be obnoxious in the company's name to customers, colleagues, etc.  At worst it can get the company sued.

  • How to setup the defaults (font, fontsize, fontcolor) for the Content Editor in Acrobat Pro 11.0.4?

Hi folks, maby you can tell me if there is a way to edit the default font of Acrobat's Content Editor, especial in the add text mode.
As default, my Acrobat uses Minion Pro in size 12. This drives me crazy, because i have to change this every time i add Text.
    Thanks!

Unfortunately there isn't but it would make an excellent Feature Request.

  • Default font, size and color for email

I would dearly enjoy having the same font, of my choice, appear on each e-mail that I type, without having to reset each time. Specifically, Times Roman, Bold Italic, 20, Blue. When I set this for any one outgoing mail, it is gone the next time, and often even before I begin to type. Given the astounding capabilities of OS X, I would think that the mail program could be tweaked to achieve this, but my ProCare Creative at the local Apple Store says, "Not possible".
    Can anyone offer me hope?

I'll cross fingers that Leopard will allow
user to set a chosen default font for e-mails.
    Leopard has lots of templates:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/features/mail.html
I think "that other computer" allows it.
Nothing to do with the "computer." Different apps have different features. Here's one list of other mail apps for Mac:

  • HT2509 Can I set a default font to all my emails on iCloud?

How do I set a default font for all my outgoing emails on iCloud?

    G'day 5508,
Some thoughts. Try System settings first (this may not be the culprit).
System Preferences > Language and Region > Advanced > Currency > Australian Dollar
I can only adjust the currency cell by cell, column by column page by page.
Forgive my stupidity, but if the currency is a cell format in the template, can you select all currency cells at once, then change the currency? You will have to do this separately for each Table, but within a Table, you can select a range of cells. Quicker than cell by cell.
Once you have reformatted the document that emerged from that template, save the document as a template with the same name to overwrite the old template.
    Hope this helps, mate.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • Open Default Email Editor with attachment

How I open default email editor with attachment. Now I can just open the email editor with mailto, subject, body BUT i cant open it with a attachment, which is in a server.

es5f2000 wrote:If you can use 1.6, Desktop.mail() will at least open the mail application, though it won't let you auto-attach. If you must use 1.5, you may have to hand-roll a solution for each environment you support. I'm not personally aware of any 1.5-compliant library that provides this functionality.Since youve replied, the 1.6 solution of opening an email but without an attachment is not good much use to me, and the creation of various support files and putting them into an attachment is the part of the process that the user has most problems with. So either I could either just create the attachment somewhere and let the customer handle the whole email side of things OR I could make use of the fact that my customers email address is embedded in their license and that an smtp server can be used to send an email from anyone, to open a form for the user to write a problem description and then send it from within my application, but the trouble with this approach is they can't have full control over the email they send.

  • How to integrate WPS writer as default email editor.

WPS stands for Writer, Presentation, and Spreadsheets—the three components of WPS Office.
Reads .doc, .docx and .rtf files.
Basically it is a word processor not an email editor.
All word processing programs are designed to be word processing applications and they tend to have a whole load of formatting options that are not available in an email client. So that even a copy paste from a word processing package to email client can result in changed formatting and all formatting is removed anyway for those who choose to read as Plain Text emails.
However, you can attach wps documents so that they can be read correctly using correct software and can be detached and saved separately. This is why there is the facilty to attach documents.
Some info discovered on google. I cannot advocate any of these as I use Thunderbird because it already has all the facilites required to create emails.

I have the late 2009 27" iMac, last dual core version.
No prior problems receiving or sending email.

  • Altering email default font & size?

Does anyone have any idea on howto alter the default font & size of email text?
I have changed it, but it reverts to the setting prior to my change when I send another email.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

BT Mail has turned out to be very basic. Unless and until it's enhanced, an email client such as Thunderbird is the way to overcome this issue. It's probably a safer option than webmail for most users anyway.

  • How do you change the Default Font setting for a HP 6310 all-in-one?

I've had this printer for a couple of years and has worked great, but just recently, the main body of text is shadowed, like a shadow font. If i print from MS word and select my font it prints great, but the default font for printing emails and anything off of the web has this shadow

It has no style so seems to be beyond the user's control.
I've tried changing it to something else and redefining the Free Form style, but it doesn't apply when you create a new comment.
The closest you'll get to what you want is to have a Style that you like and apply it to every comment when you open it, using an FKey shortcut.

  • Body text appearing as TNR, not the default font

I'm having a problem with the font settings with mail sent from Mail.
I've set the default font to Arial, but all emails sent to other people (using Outlook under WinXP) see it as Times New Roman. I've even specifically selected Arial from the Font Pallete and it still comes up as TNR. If I select another font, like say Verdana, they see that fine. It's only Arial that screws up.
I also have Arial in my signature, but that comes up fine - even at the same time as the body text is screwing up

Try setting the default in Mail preferences to something else other than Arial, then change the font to Arial in the message via the Font Palette.
