Email Feature in Acrobat 9

Hi Friends,
I have been using acrobat 7 for long and recently upgrade to
acrobat 9 reader. In Acrobat 7 there used to be a email icon on the
toolbar which allows user to attched the pdf document as
link/attachment in email and sent it via oulook from the computer.
This is missing in Acrobat 9. Some days latter I found that you can
add this from the toolbar option.
My problem is when I perview any reports in my web browser I
still cannot see the Email Icon. Hence I cannot attach the reports
or directly email it from there. I have to save the copy first in
my computer and then use the email icon to send it.

Hi,
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately this forum only
covers the acrobat.com product so I will have to ask you to try our
regular acrobat forums at

How do I get Acrobat XI pro on a Mac to work fully, and not just act like Acrobat Reader. i just paid and downloaded it, entered new serial number when requested, but when I open a .pdf I have no pro features showing (such as editing tools, convert to powerpoint, etc). I use XI pro on a windows PC and have no problem there.

Perfect answer. And I feel a bit dumb (should have worked it out, but still finding my way round the Mac). Many thansk for the help.

  • Need help with Review feature in Acrobat X

    Folks,
I am unable to send a PDF document for Email review using COMMENT feature in Acrobat X. I am not sure if it is failing due to document rights issue or email application configuration. Can someone help me troubleshoot?
    Regards,

You didn't say what error message you are getting or your email application. If it's an email issue, you might see an error message that says Adobe is unable to connect to your email program. Probably due to MAPI settings/ your email client. Outlook should work, web-based apps (Gmail) probably won't without some 3rd party add-in.
If is a rights-issue, go to File/Properties/Security and see if there are any restrictions on the file.

  • Is there a way to disable 'Save as' and 'Send Email' function in Acrobat XI?

    Hi,
Is there a way to disable 'Save as' and 'Send Email' function in Acrobat XI?
    Thnx in advance.

I would hope there would be no way to disable Save AS that would reduce the applicationss capability. What are you trying to prevent happening?

  • Commenting features slowing Acrobat 9.0.3 to a crawl

I was wrong in my previous thread about Adobe Updater being the culprit for the horrendous slowdowns in Acrobat Pro 9.0.2.  Updater.acroplugin is not the problem.
Apparently, the commenting feature of Acrobat is what grinds it to a halt. If I disable any one of the plugins required for the comments option to show up in the menu bar (AcroForm.acroplugin, WebLink.acroplugin, EFS.acroplugin, and possibly others), Acrobat becomes excruciatingly slow.
Does anyone know of a way to make the commenting feature of Acrobat move faster? It takes about 30 seconds for it to respond to any click or movement of the mouse.

    OH. MY GOSH. IT'S FIXED!!
I have spend the past 2 hrs on the phone with Adobe and Apple tech support. Adobe had me try creating a brand new user account and opening Acrobat. It opened fine with commenting enabled. So that seemed to indicate that the problem was somewhere in my User library.
So after trying various things that didn't fix it, including deleting the entire preferences folder, and starting in safe mode (hold down shift while rebooting until you see the grey apple, then wait 10-15 minutes for it to load).
Finally, he had me pull this folder out and move it to the desktop:
HD: userfolder: homefolder: library: application support: adobe: acrobat
After that, like magic, it works at full speed again.
He warned that he has no idea what Adobe might need that folder for, so you shouldn't trash it completely, but leave it on the desktop until you know for sure.
I'm happy once again! I hope this solves your problem too.

  • Hello. I have adobe forms and received the alert that it will be ending in July. Then I received an email about Adobe Acrobat XI Pro which can create forms. I signed up for the free trial and when I began to make a new form it brings me back to Adobe Form

Hello. I have adobe forms and received the alert that it will be ending in July. Then I received an email about Adobe Acrobat XI Pro which can create forms. I signed up for the free trial and when I began to make a new form it brings me back to Adobe Forms. My question is, when Adobe Forms ends on July 28th will Adobe Acrobat XI Pro be able to create forms or will it now? and if not, then why is adobe advertising for it still?

What you're calling "Adobe Forms" is really Adobe FormsCentral. The FormsCentral service is indeed going away soon, but you can always create PDF forms (AcroForms) with Acrobat. Acrobat also comes with a desktop version of the FormsCentral desiger, which can be used to create simple PDF forms that can be used apart from the FormsCentral service. So you'll no longer be able to create and host web forms with the FormsCentral service or use PDF forms with the FormsCentral service. You will be able to create standalone PDF forms with Acrobat and simple PDF forms with the FormsCentral desktop app.

  • Emailing .pdf from Acrobat 9

    Hello
I seem to be having an issue with emailing pdfs from acrobat. I am recieving an error "Acrobat is unable to connect to your email program" I am using Acrobat 9 running on a 2008r2 terminal server. The email program is Outlook 2010. All other users are able to attach a .pdf to email through adobe. Outlook is the default mapi client as i have read this is a common fix for this issue but it still does not work.

Try clearing the profile preferences for Acrobat 9 and let them get recreate
    Repair both Acrobat and Outlook/Office
BTW  I don't thing Windows Server 2008R2 was ever tested for Acrobat 9 on WTS.

  • How to extend features in Acrobat Reader for Livecycle pdfs

Have a PDF I created wit
h Livecycle.  I'm trying to extend features in Acrobat Reader so that the form will be fillable with acrobat reader but that option is not ena
bled?  Anyone know where the magic button for this is?

I already done this three times and 'extend features in Acrobat REader' is still disabled.
I'm using Livecycle ES and Acrobat Pro 9.  When I 'save as' in Livecycle my only option is 'Acrobat (static) PDF Form', and when I open the PDF document in acrobat pro I get a blue-bar that says i am viewing the document in PDF/A mode.  Does any of that raise any "red flags"?

  • Portfolio Feature in Acrobat pro

There is a create portfolio feature in Acrobat Pro XI that to my suprize work fairly well. But it enables anyone I send it to to extract my files onto their desktop, I'm obviously not a huge fan of that. Is there anyway to disable that feature?

If you can't prevent "Page Extraction" why doesn't Acrobat 10 default back to "Allowed" rather than giving the user a false sense of security?  Isn't this problemtic if the receipient could indeed Page Extract in a Portfolio?

  • Email error in Acrobat Pro 9

Every time I try to email from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, I get the following eror: "Either there is no default email client of the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client". When i click 'ok', i get the following error: 'An error occurred while sending email'. I am unig MS Outlook 2010 64 bit. No other problems with it

    Good day,
If you have not done so already, I would recommend updating your Acrobat 9 to the latest version, 9.4.6.  This sounds similar to an error that was introduced with the 9.4.2 release.
I'm also moving this thread to the Acrobat Windows forum as it is a more appropriate forum for this topic.
    Kind regards,

  • I cannot find a means to disable the rotation feature in Acrobat XI and it is driving me crazy.....it rotates in every which way without provoking it at all.  Such an annoyance.

does anyone know how to disable the auto rotate feature in Acrobat XI?

You should have to interact with the Rotate tool in order to get it to work:
    Clicking Rotate:
Should bring up an interactive dialog box:
...if pages are "auto-rotating" then something is seriously wrong. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat Pro XI, making certain that you upgrade to the latest version (11.0.06). If that brings no solution, contact the Adobe Users Community -> http://acrobatusers.com/.
Odd problem - never experienced anything like it nor heard of others having such problems. You'll get quick answers, I think, if you take your question to the Acrobat community.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Emailing Scans in Acrobat 10

It is incredably frustrating that I have to save a file before I can email it in Acrobat 10. This was not the case in 9. Does anyone know if you can do this. A lot of the scans I email I do not want a saved copy of because the scan was for someone else and plus once I send it I have copy of it.
Please Adobe fix this so it operates like acrobat 9.

    Hi
It is still possible to do the same thing using Acrobat X. In fact the entire workflow looks much better. Please follow the steps below:
          1. User scans a piece of paper to Acrobat X. You should now have a new scanned document loaded in Acrobat
          2. No need to save the document.
          3. Click the email icon in Acrobat tool bar or else click on the Share pane on the right.
          4. Select the attach to email radio button in the share pane.
          5. Click Attach button and you have your email with attachment ready to fly.
          6. User should be happy now.
Please let me know if you still face any issues.

Has anyone done any work with the "Form" Email Feature in 2008?
    2006.7
    Oracle 9i
    Websphere 5.11
    IE6 & IE7
I have been testing the version 2008.2 and noticed the "Form" link in the email templates, has anyone used this or know what its for?
It seems like a useful feature, but I can not find any documentation on its use.
    Thank you
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
The HTML widget we have incorporated into the application is an open source tool. It's name is FCKeditor. Here is the URL for the documentation site: http://docs.fckeditor.net/

Cannot email pdf using Acrobat Reader XI v11.0.3 in Windows 8. No problem when using in ms vista. get "authentication error". Sometimes will get a very quick dialogue box showing the gmail login screen but then disappears. I use firefox and IE

    Hi Rodney
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
This sounds like one of those "oddities", contributed to by a few sources.
I can clear the Safari cache files as a temporary solution, but I encounter the same difficulties with the “problematic” files once they have been opened again.
Wondering if you disabled the Safari Cache would the refresh function work correctly? As a test you can disable the Safari Cache by Emptying the Cache first via the Safari menu, then Quit Safari. Now go to the Finder>Your User Library>Caches>Safari. Single click on the Safari folder, then Apple Key + I to open Info panel. There, check the "locked" box. This prevents further additions to the cache. The downside, you lose your ability to upload images etc. within Safari (my cache is disabled, so I use Firefox for the uploads).
Then restart Safari. Try the PDF from within Safari.

  • Where has the 'bounce email' feature gone from Lion?

Mail works OK after upgrade to LIon, I have set it up in classic mode for now.   However, I can't find the 'bounce email' feature.   This used to be a good way to reduce spam.
Please Apple, let me have this feature back.

i have just 'upgraded' to osx LION and CANNOT believe you have dropped the BOUNCE feature from mail.
Why??????  PLEASE PUT IT BACK immediately - it is one of the main differences between apple mail and postbox.  You are losing customers doing this - I am going back to snow leopard till you fix it.   RIDICULOUS decision !!!!
