Email problems on iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4 and recently have been getting an alert/notification that my " username and password are not found". I have been to the apple store twice and they cannot fix the problem. The had me delete the account and add it back. Still doesn't work! I occasionally get my email but I constantly get this message. I also recently changed my email password through yahoo, but also updated on my iPhone and iPad. Help please...

You could try to reset the network settings.

Email problem on Iphone and MacMail

Just got an iPhone 4S. Set up my email account, but now Macmail won't "see" the server if the account is turned on on the phone.
Mac support says it's because its a POP account, and it will only download to one device, but the Blackberry I just left had no problem with this.
Not looking for a full sync, just the ability to open mail on either / both the desktop and the phone.
As per earlier article, both Mac and iPhone set to leave mail on server after downloaded, but that doesn't help.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Different from a Blackberry, the iPhone's Mail app communicates direct with the incoming mail server for an email account, no different from accessing an account with an email client on your computer such as with Entourage. RIM provides a dedicated email delivery service that all email accounts must be accessed through with a Blackberry, which includes some features and benefits not available with a standard email client that communicates direct with the incoming mail server for an email account.
Apple doesn't make the rules in regards to standards, capabilities, and limitations with a POP account.
The only way to get around this besides your employer joining the 21st century in this regard is not have Entourage running and actively checking the account for new messages while your iPhone is doing the same and vice-versa.

The reason why i am opening this topic, is because i have a problem with my Apple Iphone 4.
The problem is that i have an email account on my iphone 4 and i can't view in my spam mail.
Can somebody help me?

this does not help, this will un-freeze the phone but will just freeze again when I go back into email

Email problems with Iphone 6

I just received my new iphone 6 and took it to a Verizon store to have them set it up for me. My new phone is slower than my old Iphone 5. My emails won't load all of the way and I can only read a portion of the email. How can I fix this? Never was a problem with my old phone!

Sorry to hear that the email is not loading properly. Has it been this way since the email account was added? When you go to the email app are the previews truncated to a smaller than previous size or is the email cut-off after you touch and open the email? If you go to Settings> Mail, Contacts Calendars is Load Remote Images on? If not, does turning it on restore the part of the email that you are missing?

Email problems with IPhone

After updating to IS04 I experienced a few problems, the most irritating of which was that my emails appeared in the preview screen showing the first 5 lines of text, but when I opened the email there was nothing there - only the name of the sender and recipients! I read on one of the forums that some problems could be overcome by shutting down the power on the iPhone and then turning it back on a few moments later.
I did this and it resolved the problem. The emails now appear in full.

Sending email problems from iphone since upgrade to 4.3.5 and now with 5

I'm having problems sending email more often than not. Does anyone know why tis is happening and if there is a fix for this? I am using yahoo.

Email problems with iPhones

I believe that other people are having this problem. BTYahoo mail will send from my iPhone but not receive. Ipad is fine. iPhone mail sometimes will not update, or it will say that it has updated, but does not download mail. I and others have done the usual deleting account and reinstalling. Webmail is fine when it is not asking me to change my password, I've installed Yahoo mail using my BT Yahoo login and password and that (fingers crossed) works. I just wonder what is going on. I heard a rumour that moving older customers from BTYahoo mail to BT mail has stalled. Does anyone know if this is true?

You are not alone with this problem.
One of our iplhones had the same problem last Thursday, cleared itself on Saturday.
The iPad on the same account went into the same state on Friday and is still unable to download.
For the third time I've had BT Support walk me through re-enetering the account details (waste of time).
Now, finally, they are escalating it up the technical chain.
Always been able to send e-mails though.
Other iPad and other iPhone work fine on other BT e-mail accounts and, bizarrely, the account we have the problems with.
BT think it is a Yahoo server problem affecting just random e-mail addresses and IP addresses.
They are saying "leave it alone and it may come back itself".
We'll see..... not impressed

When changing account settings to use Verizon's new secure email settings, my iPhone keeps giving error " Can not get Mail, the mail server incoming.verizon.net is not responding.
I am using port 995 with SSL as instructed. Switching back to the standard port 110 with no SSL works fine.
Outgoing works fine with port 465 and SSL.
Also, same secure settings on Outlook 2010 work perfectly fine.
Anyone having this issue?

A few other people have posted that after making the changes they had to reboot their iPhone/iPad in order for it to connect again. Have you tried restarting?

What happens when you try to reply... Do you get an error message, is there no send button, does a symbol appear?

I thought maybe you had a restriction set to Accounts but if you can get to the final screen that's not it. I'd try resetting the phone. First do a hard reset. Turn the phone off then press the Home button an Power button at the same time and hold for 10 seconds or so until the logo appears. If that doesn't work go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. That will basically restore the phone to a like new condition but keep your data, music, photos, etc. intact. Do a back up first though.

Iphone and email problems - help please!

I have a few questions about email on the iphone I wondered if someone could help me with?
1. If I check my email at home on wifi everything is fine, I can recieve and send emails no problem. If I am outside and using GPRS ( Not found an EDGE signal yet ) I can recieve emails but when I try and send one it tells me it cannot find the outgoing server after trying to send the email for a few minutes.
2. Sometimes I open my email and its fine but when I go back and try and open an email I have previously read it says "This message has not been dowloaded from the server". How do I get the email to stay there?

In sort, even once you view it, it will not remain in the Inbox for ever...it will attempt to redownload if accessed later.

Has anyone had an iPhone email problem associated with the VPN app, Hotspot Shield?

I just want to make a record for the Apple Community. After installing Hotspot Shield on my iPhone 5, I developed a host of email problems including erratic reception and recurrent failures to send emails. I called Apple Support and, after standard repair measures failed (like deleting email accounts and reinstalling them) was advised to try deleting Hotspot Shield.
Removal of Hotspot Shield was unexpectedly difficult (simple deletion of the icon that works with other Apps did not suffice). With the help of Apple Support, the Hotspot Shield app was finally eradicated. The result was that all the email problems disappeared.
Again, I just wish to make this record of iPhone email trouble clearly caused by Hotspot Shield available in case someone else runs into the same problem. I did not contact Hotspot Shield but the point is that I began with an email problem that was mysterious to Apple Support and we finally traced it to a recent installation of Hotspot Shield.

Does anyone have email problems since downloading IOS6 to IPhone??

I downloaded the new IOS6 software to my IPhone 4 last week and cannot SEND nor DELETE email from it. I can receive only. I downloaded the same to my IPad and THAT WORKS FINE...I spent hours, no DAYS on the horn with Apple and they cannot resolve this issue (???!!!!!) and its driving me crazy. They're telling me to check with my web hosting company, who handles my domain and email (and have for many years) and there are no issues there. Why would it only work on the IPad (and my PC also fine by the way) and NOT the IPhone? This is obviously an Apple prolblem that they're trying to sidestep and blame a 3rd party! ANY help apreciated! This is an IMAP and not POP3 since I was told I could more easily coordinate email between PC, IPhone and IPad (which proved to be correct), UNTIL NOW!!

I have an exchange account and a yahoo account and have no issues since I've updated to the new IOS.
If you can't send email - first place i would check is to see if you can enter a password for your outgoing mail server, same password as your incoming mail server.
if that doesn't work, then delete the account, then reset your phone and then enter the account again.

EMail problems on my iPhone

Hopefully this isnt too confusing:
I am using my iPhone to access my blueyonder email account. It works fine at home - I can send and recieve emails on my iPhone using WiFi etc.
Away from home I can receive emails using WiFi etc but cannot send emails.
Any ideas on how I can solve this?

Go into settings, then mail contacts and calendars and select your email account. Under the account info, the first option you should see is outgoing mail server. Tap on that, which brings up the SMTP screen. Turn off the primary server, then make sure the AT&T smtp server is already turned on under other SMTP servers.
