Email Service report to Customer
Hi,
I need to send a PDF Service report document to the customer. Email is mentioned into the customer master record.
PDF Service report document is sitting into Archive server which is placed by third party tool.
Can you please let me know the necessary steps to develop this scenario?

First of all, you need to create a spool request (click on the print option when the report gives a output, remove the tick from "print immediately" option.....alternatively you can also ask your abaper to create a new option as "Create PDF"...now take the spool number by using T.Code: SP01
now go to T.code: SE38/SA38...enter program RSTXPDFT4..and execute/F8...enter that spool number..system will ask you the destination..you can save the file on your local PC by your own nomenclature (inbuilt written in the program) .
You can explain this process to your ABAPer, he will be able to write the relevant program
Customer email address table is ADR6, just cross check on this one.

How to setup the email service & report template with BO XI3
Hi,
I'm new to BOBJ. Can anyone share your experience and guidelines on setting up the email server? I tried to do it in CMC, yet it doesn't works.
My requirement is that :
1. I need to send the WebI report to a group of users in a specific datetime(scheduler). Can BO XI3 works in this way?If yes,then how?
2. Is there a way to configure the WebI report with Company Logo and Company Name? Maybe we can called it as a report template, so the Company Logo and Company Name will appear whenever the user create any new report. How should I handle this?

Tee1. There are a few steps to set up an email server. The best guide to this is the BOE administrators guide, which you can access at help.sap.com or try this link http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_bip_admin_en.pdf
You will want to go the section on Email destination properties.
Basically you will need the details of your SMTP server, and enter details for the appropriate job server(s).
2. To setup a Webi template you create a report off of a Universe, format it so it displays your company logo in your header (look at the properties tab), and hard-code your company name, or use a dimension object with your company name in the query.
Do your formatting on this simple report how you want it, i.e. fonts, borders, shading, page margins etc. Then in your query strip out all query objects apart from at least one, which is common between all your universes (i..e you could define a dummy variable like Today's date in all your universes).
Save this report as 'Template Report' or similar, and ask all your users to use that as the starting point. So they would edit the template report, re-point the report to whatever universe they wanted then save it as a different name. Make sure they don't overwrite the template report.

It seems that you have posted your client's all report requirements in one post and expecting Functional spec for each report.
All these reports requires lot of discussion with Core teams / Technical consultant.
Eg.

Iis there any master warranty / Measurement document involved? .. is there any extended warranties applicable for your product?
What is your reference object - Equip / Func loc etc..?
What do you mean by JOB type and where you are capturing?
... lot of queries can be raised on your requirement.
The functional consultant and the core team members of this module can only be able to answer those queries.
Better you close this thread, and start separate queries for each report with necessary information so that peers can able to suggest.

Render and Email SSRS reports via SOAP/Web Services

Running SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM and wondering if the ReportExecution2005.asmx web service can be used to render AND email a report all within the web service (ie. Not wanting to render the report and then having to email it manually). Since RS has the capability
to email via report manager schedule, wondering if this can be achieved programmatically.

In Reporting Services, it supports us to use ReportExecution2005 web service to render a report as MHTML or other formats. And we can use ReportingService2010 web service to subscribe and delivery report. The Reporting Services Execution
Web service allows developers to programmatically process and render reports from a report server.
The ReportingService2010 Web service allows developers to programmatically create a subscription in the report server database.
To process a specific report and render it in the specified format, we can use the “Render” method in the ReportExecutionService. To create a subscription, we can use “CreateSubscription” method in ReportingService2010.

BT have agreed to refund me for poor email service...
I've also posted this information as a reply to various other discussions so apologies if you've already read it
I have managed to get BT to agree to refund me for poor service since migration to BT mail on 1st October. I recommend others do so too.
Unfortunately BT can't authorise payment until the problem is fixed so you'll have to phone back sometime in the future to complete the process but it is important to log the complaint now.
First report a fault (by phone or email): I notified BT of slow service and too frequent time outs due to the firewall interface problem they had previously told me about - and, as a result of the repeated reload etc, excess bandwidth useage (more info below).
Note: Today, a very helpful person from the faults team called Mythilm told me that "It is an ongoing issue"; It is " a common fault on most customer accounts" "There will be a notification when the problem is solved. It is not known when that will be."
The BT bill team initially said that I would only be compensated for days since I had reported the fault. This was rescinded after I explained that the service section of the website had reported the faults on other days and it was unreasonable of them to require me to report the fault on those days (and in any case they wouldn't have wanted me to do so as their complaints line would have been overloaded).
Make sure that the person handling your complaint notes the days affected before your fault complaint is registered (in my case 15th Oct). The website was showing service outage messages on 1st and 2nd Oct. and another a week or so later - I think it was 9th. Unfortunately the faults history seems to be deleted from the website on a daily basis.
Phone and add more days if the fault appears again.
When you're notified that the situation has been resolved, phone BT's billing dept and claim the refund.
Good luck and please let others know what they can do. Maybe together we will persuade BT to improve the service very soon!
Note on broadband useage
I downloaded a bandwidth monitor which shows approx 50k /s every time I get a "system busy" or similar message and lasts anything from 5-15 secs. The timeouts happen every 4 mintes (I tested this with the support time team on 15th. Oct). Scale by the number of minutes you are logged in per day, the number of days affected and number of email accounts and the numbers soon get very big - I reckon it's 2G for me so far this month - which takes me over my bandwidth allowance. It's only £5.30 per 5G but I object to paying BT for bandwidth that is being imposed on me to deliver a non-functioning service!I'm sure every body will be interested to see if this comes to fruition and you get compensation for the email service which BT say is a "free value added service".

Unable to insert sql server reporting services report viewer webpart

We are trying to add a SQL Server Reporting Services Report Viewer and when we click add we get the following error message
The file you imported is not valid. Verify that the file is a Web Part description file (*.webpart or *.dwp) and that it contains well-formed XML.

The Report Viewer Web Part is a custom Web Part that is installed by the Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Products and associated with report definition (.rdl) files that are processed by a Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services report
server.
To install the Web Part, you must run Setup for the Reporting Services Add-in. You should not install or uninstall the Web Part independently. It is part of the add-in and can only be installed through the add-in setup package. The Report Viewer Web Part
file name is ReportViewer.dwp. It is located in the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\15\template\features\reportserver folder and should not be moved to other folders.
To use the Web Part, you must have installed and configured the Reporting Services Add-in and configured the report server for SharePoint integration.

Hi,
I am using Discoverer Desktop 10.1.2.48.18.
I am in a situation where I should be able to email each page of the report to a different person when ever the report is run. Each page of the report has the information of different customer and a particular customer should recieve the email with his page of the report.
I want to know if this is possible with discoverer, if yes, please let me know the process to do it or let me know of any other alternatives or third party tools I can use to do this.

I have done the z report in which i have called a function module so_new_send o send an email.
I am able to post an email from report to SOST transaction but from there a mail is not triggered.The status of the email is waiting for communication service.
it keeps waiting for communication service. do i need to enable some thing.

Hi, Apple Mail provides a function to create sub-folders within my mailbox so that I can group emails of similar subjects or from the same sender. My service provider only provides POP email protocol and the New Folder button does not appear in my Apple Mail account for that service provider. Icloud provides the opportunity for the iPad user to select between POP and IMAP. I can select IMAP and the New Folder button appears allowing me to create sub-folders within the icloud email account. Does this mean I cannot create sub-folders in my email account unless my service provider provides customers with the option of creating an IMAP email account?
This appears to be a problem for quite a few Apple Mail users, but service providers appear reticent to provide a response other than 'use Microsoft Exchange / Hotmail, Google GMail, or some other third party email service provider'. This is why I have chosen icloud as my email service provider. It is Apple and therefore Apple supports it. I have been a Telstra customer for over 15 years and they informed me today, strongly, that they support their own products and services, not Apple products, even though Telstra sell them. When I asked the Telstra Customer Support Manager whether they support Telstra customers, I was informed 'no, because the Telstra customer is not a Telstra product or service'. I have since cancelled my Telstra email account and am in the process of cancelling all of my Telstra services.Apple Sceptic wrote:

Yes. That is what it means. You need an IMAP account in order to create sub folders on the iPad. -

After this error, i treid to send email again and there is no error and email was delivered. What was the cause of this error?

I tried to start seeding again but it is at same status. I will try again and hopefully it will get resolved.
But, yesterday i ran in to the most complex issue i have ever seen with Exchange.
There was a unexpected power cut at our datacentre due to which both the nodes went down.
After that both the nodes came up. But the all 3 databases were dismounted.
Therefore, i ran Eseutil /mh resulting dirty shutdown.
I was able to repair 2 databases.
But the 3rd one was not mounting with below error.

I was able to mount database somehow. There are 7 User mailboxes (Tier 1) on this database.
All emails sent to the users in this database are bouncing back with the below error.
This storage groups holds the mailboxes of my Senior Managements. And their mailboxes are down for almost 20 Hrs. I am spinning my head since yesterday but not able to find any fix. Can you please guide me in this concern.

In QA and Prod I see custom dictionaries in the Custom Reports Data Model, in Test there are none.
Dictionaries and Sevices marked Reportable are not showing up under Dictionaries and Services Dimensions.
I rerun the ETL and the scheduled tasks, but no luck. any suggestions?Do you see any error when you run the ETL, i.e. the Java ETL embedded with the app server?

Is there any way to report on Custom Object 3 other than lists?
Looks like the answer is no but just wondering if anyone has come up with a brilliant work around. I guess the only chance is with Web Services, or is Custom Object 3 the red headed step child there as well?
I read in an earlier thread that R15 fix/patch may enable the ablity to report in analytics OD on the Custom Objects, any idea if Custom Object 3 will be included?
I wish the documentation pointed this out somewhere! It would have been nice to know before I created the Objects funtionality!

Dan DIt is my understanding that the patch will be applied automatically for all customers. The patch will enable reporting on custom Objects 1, 2 & 3 and will have subject areas for Custom Object, Custom Object & Account, Custom Object & Opportunity, Custom Object & Contact, and Custom Object & Service Request.
(That is 5 subject areas per custom object for a total of 15 new subject areas!)
