Email Settings Help Needed!

Hi there,
I am trying to access the email settings -- the username/password is forgotten. I have 4 user name options. I type them in one by one and requested the password to be sent to my device. One of the worked and the password arrived.
I then typed in each one carefully with the password that was sent but I keep getting the notice that the information I provided is not correct.
Is there any way to reset this?
I've tried to go through my phone provider but they can't help and it's impossible to get help through blackberry. I'm ready to switch phones. Please help! All I'm trying to do is set up gmail on my phone but cant do that without the email settings username/password.

It is unfortunate that you are so upset with others over the fact that YOU have forgotten the password that YOU created. BBs remain the most secure devices available, but the user plays a very critical role in that security, and there is only so much the device can to to help you without violating the very security upon which the BB brand is built.
Given what you describe, it is difficult to be certain about exactly which password you are having troubles with. Saying "Email Settings" implies your BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) account...but for your carrier to deny helping you does not make sense, since they actually are the entity that controls that very account, and only they can do anything to reset it for you. Maybe the person you reached simply does not understand things, and perhaps you need to be shifted to their dedicated BB support folks instead of their general level 1 folks.
Further, not being able to "get help through blackberry" also makes no sense...your carrier has the ability (indeed, the responsibility!) to escalate your case to BlackBerry if your carrier cannot help you. There indeed is no direct path for you to try and reach BlackBerry independently for support, and this is completely in keeping with the support contracts to which all parties are bound. Refer:

It is also confusing that you say you have 4 options...BIS credentials are just one set of credentials, an ID and a password...I do not understand how there can be 4 options for this. Further, you say that one of your requests for receipt of the password to the device was successful...this is also contradictory to how this works; for security reasons, those password reset emails are NOT forwarded to the device, and must be retrieved via other means to access that particular email account.
Lastly, is this perhaps your BBID credentials rather than your BIS credentials? Depending on what you have configured on your device, it could be either. If it is BBID, then refer:

  • Sequence settings help needed

    I've only dabbled with FCE occasionally, but this always seems to trip me up.  I cannot seem to get my sequences to match my video reliably.  Here is a link to the media file info, and every choice I make in sequence settings still needs rendering, though the clips play fine in the viewer.  (Mor info on what I'm trying to do is below the image).
    No matter what I do (new project, etc.) FCE does not ask me to match the sequence to the clips being dropped onto the timeline.

    I've been trying to sort this issue off & on for a while.  If I can get this sorted I'll be a happy guy.  I have a Canon HG20 camera that shoots in MTS format.  I've tried a few converter apps, and most recently (today) settled on trying to use Brorsoft's MTS Converter, since I bought it a while back AND it now has a FCE export setting specifically.  I just can't get FCE to let me work without rendering every single thing on the timeline.  I must be doing something wrong here.

    Your HG20 should work with FCE directly and you should be able to set the correct Sequence.
    Do you know exactly what the camera is set to record and output? This info has a direct bearing on it's operation within FCE.

    I know - right?!!  It's crazy but all the converter apps I've tried that convert from MTS files to a claimed FCE or FCP preset do so in some screwy way.  I wish I didn't have to convert first but FCE won't recognize the MTS files.
    The Canon HG20 is difficult to get accurate info on, but:
    It appears to be set to 1080i at 60i fps (which it claims is standard). 
    The "quality" setting I use is the XP+ which claims to be 12Mbps.
    Other than that, I get no feedback on what the file type & settings are. Since Quicktime cannot open the files as MTS, the only thing I can check it with is VLC which reports it as 1440 x 1080 (see attached image below).  FCE will not let me import the recorded files without converting them with something first.
    It's all terribly frustrating.  This camera & codec have been out & in consumer hands since at least 3 years ago, and the Mac and FCE still don't want to play nice with it.  It sure would be nice to get this figured out and so that I can work with it in as lossless a capacity as possible.

  • Privacy settings help needed

    Hi there
    I've recently updated the system to IOS7 and since this it won't let me send pictures over imessage, twitter, facebook, instagram or anything. It's told me to go to settings > privacy > photos but in the photos section there aren't any apps in there for me to slide across to allow?
    I've downloaded them again but it's still not letting me send any. Help needed please

    I don't have any social media stuff, so I can't tell you about FB, twitter or any of that stuff. But I can tell you that I am able to send pictures/screen shots and what not via iMessages. Both to other iPhone users or non-iPhone users, using text obviously.
    With that being said, under Settings---> Privacy---> Photos "iMessages" isn't there. Other programs are and they are enabled
    Have you done a hard reset? Press the Sleep/Wake and Home button at the same time. Continue to hold them until the Apple logo shows up?

    I wonder if you can help me. I'm currently at my Grandparents and have realised that I am completely unable to send emails from my Talk Talk email accounts. I had previously resigned myself to suffering this fate with this talk talk email as it didn't work at home either but I recently found out the plusnet relay settings so am using it again. Now, my Grandparents where I'm staying have BT it it doesn't send.
    So, I have gone into my Granddad's account to had my email aprroved and verified, and have set up the following server settings under other SMTP servers;
    Host Name- Mail.btinternet.com
    User name- MY GRANDDAD'S EMAIL 
    Password- His password
    SSL on
    Authentication= password
    Port= 465
    And turned this new server on, yet when I go to send something it tells me the receipents email was rejected by the server an it is placed in the outbox. I must be doing something wrong- please help! Bt's help is no help as it tells me to call an expensive line!

    Can someone tell me what maximum values can I set in the following properties under Connection Attributes when I define a DataSource on
    Application Server. I have almost 25+ web application deployed on my 10.1.2.0.2 server that all uses one data source I have defined. Now the issue is the number of requests
    are very high and every now and then I get timeout error when trying to get the database connection. At one particular instance at peak time I may get over 200+ requests that

    </data-sources>I also tried changing max-connections="0" it did helped but still after sometime I get timeout while connecting to the database. Don't know if it's with SQL Server that is not letting that many concurrent connections/sessions or something on the Application Server side.

  • Email client help needed

    Hello all!!
    I have changed from windows based laptop to a mac laptop, I thought it would be better, but so far, it has been a tough problem, my problem is too many programs are just windows based, but that has been solved with parallels..
    now the main problem lies with my email workflow, as I have been using outlook for a lot of years, I am really used to it and its functionality, but now... I am getting head on with this issue, I cant sync the contacts in my outlook program with my contacts in the iphone (if this was a small problem I would do it manually but I have over 3,000 contacts in my outlook program that I cant dispose of) and I need them to be readily available within my iphone and viceversa.
    I think I have to give up trying to sync outlook and mac contacts as I believe there is no option to do that (baffles me..)
    please do recommend an email client for mac, that I can:
    -sync all my previous emails from the past years (this means almost 10gb of pst files from outlook)
    -be able to sync contacts and calendar in the laptop and the iphone and obviously ipad.
    -be able to filter and search for anything within the email client
    -be able to work as seamless as possible or similar to outlook..  (i never liked mail from mac)
    any ideas? any help will be very much appreciated!!!!

    1, I will try and change that to oulook, but as that is by far not my primary email, there are no issues with that email account, all the email I have is either personal (cancun.com.mx) or work related (all other domains, pani.com.mx, etc)
    I will try and contact this people, but I am afraid this will be a lost battle... they are really backwards...
    now, this gives me an idea, do you think that godaddy can do this contact syncing via the server??
    I may try and change the service, as I am not ok with my current provider, but godaddy is way expensive and I am not sure it would good economic idea..
    and third.. do you recommend anyone? I now that as this is not a country specific issue, I can change to any provider I want, the only issue would be the support if I am in problems, the phone call would be international long distance and not cheap...
    mmmmmm got to think about this..

  • Settings help needed for animated GIF

    I have a simple black and white JPEG of 4 umbrellas. My goal is to create a 5 frame animated GIF that shows no colors in the 1st frame, then frame 2 shows the left most umbrella tinted yellow, then frame 3 shows the next umbrella tinted green, etc.
    I used the smart brush tool to add color tint to each umbrella, one layer at a time. Each color addition created an adjustment layer which I merged down into a "real" layer. When I go to "Save for web", I can only get 2 layers to work in an animation regardless of how small a file I create. When I attempt putting the 3rd layer in, I get an error message saying it is too big and I need to either reduce the number of layers (I only have 5 at most) or reduce the image size (I've tried as low as 10 pixels width by 5 pixels height - extremely low and using only 8 colors). Can anyone tell me what "magic settings" I may need to apply in the image size section, etc, to make this thing work?

    Ok, I figured it out. Apparently you need to reduce the size of the image before you send it to "Save for Web". When I reduced it from 2828 pixels wide to 400 pixels wide by 120 height (a workable size for my project), and then sent it to Save for Web, it all worked fine. I guess you can't rely on the "New Size" in the Save for Web screen to do the job - bummer.

  • Sequence and Capture Settings Help Needed

    Hi there...
    Need some advice on setting my Sequence and Capture Settings in FCP 6.0.4.
    I have a Sony HDR-SR1 (AVCHD) and I know I how to bring the footage in through "Log and Transfer", but I'm not sure what I should be bring the footage in as.
    Should I capture with HDV, or can I bring the footage in as ProRes 422 (HQ)? Once captured, should the Sequence be set to HDV - 1080i/60, or should it be set to the ProRes setting? Or, does AIC still play a factor in this and I should choose that?
    Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I bring in as HDV, the file size will be very large. But if I bring it in at ProRes 422, the filesize will be smaller, but how much will I lose in compression?
    Also, does anyone know if I'm stuck shooting 1080i/60 or can I get 1080i/50 or 720p/24/25/30?

    The orginal footage is not DV, it is DVCPRO 25. I am capturing in the DV setting because of the length of the footage. The DVCPRO deck doesn't have a firewire output.

  • NAT settings help needed.

    ok i'm completely new to this kind of stuff and everyone's probably gone over it a million times but i'm trying to make my NAT settings open so i can join people's games on my xbox 360.
    i have a WRT300N V1 router.
    what i've found by searching numerous forums was that i need to put the IP of my router into IE and when the login prompt comes up, leave the username field blank and use "admin" for the password.
    thats all fine and dandy but every single time i put in admin and hit ok it just pops up again and again. it does this three times until it just doesnt pop up anymore and gives me the "401 unauthorized" error. i know i can refresh it, but it just does the same thing everytime.
    i've gone through my internet settings and made sure my proxy was off so that can't be the problem.
    oh and if it's of any relevance, i'm using Windows Vista...sometimes i think it could just be that...hahah.

    HI,
    IF the default password is not working that shows you changed the password of the router while you setup it for the first time.
    If it was you try some most commonly used password by u to get into the setup page of the router.
    The only option left is to reset the router if you fail to remember the password.

  • Entered Wrong Email Address  : Help Needed - Probably a Simple Solution But Driving Us Crazy

    Recently, when signing into a website I have used successfully many times - I accidentally typed in the last few letters of my email address wrongly ( email address and password are required to log on to the site) Now I can't access the site at all because I enter my correct email address when asked,  but as soon as I move down to enter my password...the email address reverts back to the one I typed in wrongly and of course the site dosent recognize me. I have turned off and on my auto fill thing, cleared my cookies, reset Safari, tried all the simple things I know but they haven't worked. I suspect the solution will be an easy one for those that know more than I do ( which isn't alot!) and would be grateful for some quick advice!

  • Imovie08 - export settings help needed

    hei - i'm new to mac and just edited my first movie in imovie 08. worked fine apart from the bug with the inconsistent ducking, but i found some advice for that here and gonna try this... however, i do have another problem in that i have no idea about the settings to export the movie.
    my movie is 25 mins long, contains video (16:9), several music tracks and some stills. there are also subtitles, which should stay readable in the final version. the size of the project is currently 9.3GB on disk. it looks fine in the preview, but whatever format/compression i tried (even best) - the outcome didn't look as good... not to speak of file sizes being beyond good and evil. the video will be put on myspace, and i'd prefer if i could keep it as one file but myspace only allows a file size of max 250MB per movie.
    the original project resolution is 960x540, which can be reduced to 640x360 for the final movie. i think .mov with h.264 codec is what is recommended everywhere, but i've no idea about the rest of the settings, and how they could influence the file size.
    could someone please advise any combination of settings i'd have to choose in the various settings options, to get a final movie at best possible quality for online use, which will not be bigger than 250MB (if this is not possible at all, considering the length of the movie, then so that i could in emergency make two separate movies out of the project, but i'd be happier if it all could stay in one file). i'm also not the biggest tech wizard, so i would be glad if the explanations could be sort of simple

    The controlling factor here is the file size limitation. A limit of 250 MBs means a 25 minute file would be limited to a maximum combined audio + video data rate of about 1.333 Kbps. This is lower than the preset target data rate for a "medium" (1.7 Mbps) file but higher that the "mobile" preset tart data rate (about 1.0 Mbps). So the maximum quality preset for a single file would be the "Mobile" option.
    You could, of course, create a custom H.264/AAC export at 640x360 using a video data rate of about 1.2 Mbps with a stereo audio track at 128 Kbps and 44.1 KHz sampling rate. The quality of such a file will be worse than that of either a "Large" file preset or the "Mobile" preset. H.264/AAC is the most efficient compression format you can use here, so if this level of quality is less than acceptable for you, you will have to create multiple files.
    Dividing your project into two parts would allow you to double your data rate target to about 2.667 Kbps. This would produce a 640x360 display file whose quality is better than that of the "Medium" preset but probably not quite as good as the "Large" preset which targets a data rate of about 4.0 Mbps. If this quality still isn't good enough for you, you would be left with the option of dividing your file in 3 parts and exporting/sharing each using the "Large" preset option.
    The general rule here is that greater quality requires a higher target data rate using the same compression format at the same display encode dimensions. This, of course, means your files also increase in direct proportion with any increase in data rate. Larger dimensions work in a similar manner. Increasing the file display but holding the level of quality constant also requires a higher data rate. Increasing both display size and improving quality at the same makes your data rates requirements increase geometrically. Therefore, you, and you alone, must determine what constitutes a reasonable compromise here between display size, quality, and end file size.

  • Broadcasting Settings help needed...

    Dear All,
    We have the following scenario in BW 3.5 version and this was running fine till 2 weeks ago.
    Info object 0CALWEEK, variable S_CALWEEK used in report. The variable contains ABAP code(User Exits) that picks the three preceding weeks of the week in which the report runs: If running the report in week 24 the report will show data of week 21, 22 and 23.
    If I run this report using regular way (RRMX or RSRT) the expected result would be fine because the values for variable are filled properly.
    But, if I do the same using information broadcasting using scheduling option and use of the settings: general precalculation, this is works fine only at the first time of scheduling not the subsequent schedules (according to above example, for 25th week it should be 24, 23 and 22 but in my case I am getting the old result 23, 22 and 21 which was shown at the first time schedule).
    I suspect that the problem is with scheduling function for refreshing the calweek values.
    Also it would be good to know the available options in tab General Precalculation:
    What is variable assignment and where are the values are coming from?
    As I have to schedule these reports I would like to know exactly what is going wrong and why it is going wrong.

    We use Customer Exit variable only for this req.
    When I do schedule 1st time, the values are calcuated correctly. Let's say...this is 35th week so, the values has to be 34, 33 and 32 and this is the expected result. As a best practice, we will not do anything manually if the event is weekly basis so we will be depending on weekly schedule.
    When I go for weekly schedule, the subsequent week is not dervied properly with expected result and the available result would be 34, 33 and 32 even for coming week(36).

    I'm newbie in BSP and faced with problem with it.
    I've created a simple BSP app (named "z_bsp_test") with one page and one MIME-object (actually, it is imported MSOffice document, named "order.doc") . Also, my app is assigned to a service user in transaction SICF. HTML code of my page is something like that:

    2. We don't use https
    3. Whether I input correct name/password, or not (clicking on "Cancel" button) - there is no difference, Word successfully opens document(?!). I just can't understand why this annoying prompt appears and how to remove it.

    I've purchased a personal domain name from Network Solutions. I've followed the instructions that Apple has given me, and have specified "web.mac.com" as the alias name, as well as specifying "www" in the drop down box in the next field to the right of the alias field. I've also set up my personal domain name on the Apple side. However, after 48 hours, I'm still seeing the "site under construction page" from Network Solutions when I go to view my personal domain. I confirmed on the Apple side that iWeb was now using my personal domain name, and I was also able to confirm that my domain name was/is pointing to web.mac.com. What am I doing wrong? Does anybody out there with a Network Solutions domain name have any experience with this?
