    Currently, Adobe Reader for Android does not provide an option to disable auto-save.
    In the Reader home screen (where your files are displayed), you can make a copy of the original PDF document, open the copy (instead of opening the original document), make changes to the copy.  Once you email the copy, you can delete it.
    For more information, please see Help > How To... > Copy, edit, delete, manage.
    Although it is not the most convenient way to accomplish the task, that's the only feasible workaround that is available in Adobe Reader for Android right now.

  • How to create a submit by email button that emails the FORM AND DATA

    I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.  I've created a fillable form that can be fillable and saved in Adobe reader.  How do I add a submit by email button that will send me the form with the data?  Right now I am only getting the data.  I need the form with the data.
    Thank you in advance, Rob

    When you set up a submit form action, you have the option of choosing the form data (FDF, XFDF, HTML) or the complete PDF. Choose the latter. For this to work with Reader (prior to 11), the document has to be Reader-enabled, which you do by selecting: Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader

  • I can't see the writings (annotations) after I email the form.

    Hi,
    when I am filling out a form on the android adobe app, writing on it and emailing it. the file does't contain the writing. Please advise if there are any changes to be done on the setting or what I should do to sove this issue.
    thank you,
    Oren

    Hi,
    Would you please help us with the following queries?
    1. When you say 'writing on it', do you mean you are adding a freehand drawing/ink signature to the form or filling out the form fields?
    2. After emailing the document, while opening it, are you opening the form in Adobe Reader on Android?
    3. If you don't email the document and just close it after filling it or writing on it, do you get a 'Document saved' toast? On reopening the file, are your edits visible?
    Please let us know of the exact steps you are following along with the android version and device details so that we may resolve the issue.
    Thanks,

  • How does general web public email the form using reader only

    After producing a form in Designer no one was able to email the filled in form back. Is there some very basic step I missed? I had a submit button with my email address entered yet everyone with reader was unable to get the form emailed. If I didn't miss something I guess I don't see the point of creating the form if you need a full version to respond.....

    I did upgrade one of the testers to Reader 7 and it worked. I may have to save the form in two files one for 7 and one for Reader6. The submit by email did function but I had also changed the button and used the one from the Library and set the address to mailto:myemailaddress. What that did was return a .tmp file. So I dragged in a default button from a new file and that corrected it - that one seems to not have the 'mailto' prefix and must have some built in coding to return the data in XML.
    Submiting the data to a server doesn't make much sense unless you have some method of getting the data from the server. Is there such a method built into this program or does that require additional coding?

  • Adding filename in PDF form and inserting the filename as the subject when emailing the form

    I have created a form in LiveCycle and have added 2 buttons - Save As and Submit by Email (created successfully thanks to the posts in this Forum).  Can someone please advise how I can:
    1.  Add the file name to the PDF document when the Save As button is clicked.
    2.  Use the file name as the Subject when the user clicks the Submit by Email.
    Thank you in advance for your help with this query.

    Here is a sample for your save as request.
    http://thelivecycle.blogspot.com/2009/11/save-form-to-specific-directories-and.html
    To determine the file name and use it in the subject you can use for example:
    var FileName = event.target.documentFileName;
    event.target.mailDoc({
            bUI: false,
            cTo: [email protected],
            cSubject: FileName,
            cMsg: "Bla bla bla...",
            cSubmitAs: "PDF"

  • I have created a form saved it then attached it to an email and sent it out. The form arrived and can be opened but how is it returned to me once it is filled in. What steps should the person getting the form follow?

    I need help in learning the steps to follow after the fillable form has been filled in and I want to return it to the sender. It arrived as an attachment to an email.

    There are various was to return a filled-in PDF form but many require some detailed information about what product the person filling in the form will be using.
    As noted above the form can be filled out and faxed or snail mailed to you.
    Since Acrobat 3 the form could be submitted to a scripted web page and have the web server perform the tasks necessary to return the data to you.
    Since Acrobat 6 the creator could add special "Extended Form Rights" to the form so users with Reader version 5 or better could save the form and email the form.
    For mobile devices the app the user will be using will determine how or if the form can be returned.
    Do not allow users to use Apple's Preview application on the Macintosh. It will corrupt the form in many ways.

  • How do you Save a pdf form automatically to a designated folder using designated fields in the form?

    Hello,
    I am in the process of creating a “service excellence feedback” form.  The idea of this form is to have a blank form living in our company’s intranet page to be used by multiple departments that receive feedback and then have a chain of updated investigations and follow up to be documented within the same file.
    The top portion is to be filled out by the department receiving the feedback. It collects all the pertinent data needed including the person giving the feedback’s First and Last name. Once the top portion of the form is filled out I want to have a “submit” button that will do;
    1. Save the pdf automatically to a designated folder AND automatically save it under the last and first name that is entered in the form. So the form will be saved in the designated folder under “Smith, John.pdf”.  I have already figured out how to format the button to “save as” however I would like to eliminate the person filling the form out to have ANY responsibility to naming and saving the file to the correct folder.
    2. After it is saved I want it emailed to a specific email address (which I have figured out.)
    Once the steps above are completed and it is emailed an investigation will be performed by me and I will document my findings and then send it by another “submit” button which will save the document (writing over the previously saved version with this new version) and then emailed on to the next person to provide the next step of follow up. When the next person in line finishes they will hit another “submit” button that will again save the new version and send it back to me.  We continue this back and forth with a few more follow-ups performing the same save and send options.
    I need help in how to write a script/java to perform this task of saving. I have already figured out how to program the button to email the form.  Help please!!!  I am using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

    It can also work if you certify the document and each user chooses to trust it to execute privileged JavaScript, which may be feasible in this setting. The method you'd use is doc.saveAs: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.524.html
    Also, read the following tutorial: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-pdf-acrobat-javascript

  • I have set form fields as User required and yet the form still prints/save when empty.

    I have set form fields as User required and yet the form still prints/save when empty. I also have an email button on the form but that works correctly by not allowing the user to email the form with the required fields empty.
    What script do I need to additionally restrict both printing and saving if the required fields are empty?
     You would think that just setting that option would restrict those functions the same as it does for the email button.
    Please be specific with your response if you are gracious enough to offer one. I have been searching the forum all morning for the answer to this and I really didn't understand any of the solutions offered to others enough to use those in my own form.
    The required fields are:
    Social (social security number)
    Name
    Headquarters
    Residence
    The next question I have is if there is a way to make individual signature fields mandatory if they are digital signatures?
     In other words, I don't want the individual to be able to email the form to the next person if he/she hasn't applied their digital signature.

    Saving can always be done, even when mandatory fields are empty.  This is by design.  And that is correct.  Suppose you have a big form and 2 people need to fill it out.  How can you fill out a first part and then send it to the second person without saving.
    Same for printing.  Same for your signature fields.
    What I would do, is to put a "watermark" on the form that you show on preSave and prePrint if the form is incomplete.  Just a static text on your form.  Then the user will see that they need to do more.  Also, on preSave and prePrint, you can show a warning popup to tell the user about the missing fields.  You can then still cancel their action if the user decides not to save/print anyway.

  • I would like to send a form with the form fields locked but with the links still active.  Any Ideas?

    I'm new to creating fillable forms and I feel that this appoach would help to create HVAC proposals in quickly by editing a few fields within a PDF. I would like to then email the form that I created to my client, but I do not want them to be able to change the fields such as the cost of the job, yet I do want them to be able to open links that are embedded in the proposal.  So far my approach has been to send them a flattened copy which essentially make the entire PDF stagnant. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

    You can use the free selective flattening tool that's available here: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Email PDF form on Web server

    I have created a PDF form which resides on a Web server. Users follow a Webpage link and fill out the form on their desktop, where there is no email client installed. I noticed in the Script Editor that I can choose "Run at Server." Does this mean that when the user clicks Submit, this code will run on the server and email the form from there?
    this.resolveNode("#event").submit.target = "mailto:" + strToAddress + "?subject= " + "LOA request for " + strSuffix + " DSM " + strMgrFirstName + " " + strMgrLastName + " Store# " + strStoreNum + " Region# " + strRegionNum;
    Is that what "Run at Server" means? I looked in the LC Help and found no references to "Run at Server."

    If "Run at Server" isn't the simple solution to my problem (there is no client email application), then could I copy the javascript code on the Submit button and paste it into a.js file on the server and then in the Object properties of the button point to that .js file?
    form1.page3.emailSubform.emailToBtn::preSubmit:form - (JavaScript, server)
    app.execMenuItem("SaveAs");
    //either way below works
    //event.target.submitForm({cURL:"mailto:"+ strToAddress + "?cc=" + strCCAddress + "&subject=" + strSubject + "&body=" + strMessage,cSubmitAs:"PDF",cCharset:"utf-8"});
    if (txtCCAddress.rawValue == null) {
    var strToAddress, strSubject, strMessage, strSuffix, strMgrFirstName, strMgrLastName, strStoreNum, strRegionNum
    strToAddress = txtToAddress.rawValue;
    strSuffix = form1.Page1.DropDownList1.rawValue;
    strMgrFirstName = form1.page3.MgrFirstName.rawValue;
    strMgrLastName = form1.page3.MgrLastName.rawValue;
    strStoreNum = form1.Page1.storeNumber.rawValue;
    strRegionNum = form1.page3.distRegion.rawValue;
    //something like this would go in the URL in Object properties for the button
    //formmail.php?emailTo=strToAddress&type=strSuffix&mgrFirst=strMgrFirstName&mgrLast=strMgr LastName&storeNum=strStoreNum&region=strRegionNum
    this.resolveNode("#event").submit.target = "mailto:" + strToAddress + "?subject= " + "LOA request for " + strSuffix + " DSM " + strMgrFirstName + " " + strMgrLastName + " Store# " + strStoreNum + " Region# " + strRegionNum;

    I am using ES2, I am trying to get a form to shift down when a field grows in a subform, and nothing I tries works.  I am not an expert in this area, but all the help I have tried on-line does not seem to workI would be more than happy to email the form to anyone that could give me some assistance.  I have already spent too much time on this project, and if I cant get it to work, I will have to move back to a simple word form without all the fancey bells and whistles, but I hate to move backwards.  Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

    Thank you so much, I tried to duplicate the form from Assure and something is still wrong.  The background of the subform is not light green, I am not sure if the color was for display purpose only, but it still did not flow right either.  I was unable to find the option in the testfield to "Display all of the content (on exit).  I am also getting an warning note: The object may not work properly. • Why did the form I created change after saving?

    I have Adobe Acrobat XI Standard and was creating a form from a PDF. I didn't have permission so I made a copy of the form so that I wouldn't have any restrictions. I was able to edit the copy perfectly and it printed perfectly. I saved as a Reader Extended PDF so that the recipient could save and print, I emailed the form and then when I opened the attachment, part of it was all jumbled. Now the file is saved jumbled and I can't go back to the original. Is there a way I can fix this without redoing everything? How did this happen? See the bottom of the page under Insurance Requirements as a reference attached.

    I couldn't get the image to attach.....

    How do I make an option to email the form directly when the user is finished?

    What do I do if I only have professional 7.0? Can you help?

    Some additional info to add to what SekharN said:
    1) Add a button (not the email submit button, just the "button")
    2) Set the Control type to Submit
    3) On the submit tab, add "mailto:[email protected]" in the Submit to URL box
    4) Change the submit as drop down to PDF
    5) Save the form
    6) Open the form in professional 8.0 (not livecycle designer)
    7) Go to the Advanced option on the toolbar and select "Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" which will require you to save the file again.
    once you've done that you should have no problem with the emailing the completed form.
