Email Uploads

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for advice. I've been a long time OBIEE admin/developer and I am very happy with the tool. But recently I've been having a string of requests from my marketing team that have me doing a lot of busy work. Typically, I like to build self-service dashboards where my daily activities are limited to small tweaks and making sure the services are up and running. But the marketing team came up with a new activity that I cannot figure out how to make more self-service.
Their activity is around email campaigns. They use Responsys to send out the emails, however, when it comes to detailed reporting, they cannot accomplish it in Reponsys. Instead, to get conversion analysis and return rates, etc, they look to the order data that I have in our data warehouse. They will feed me an excel sheet with around 100K emails and they will want me to track orders/returns/etc. I have to write insert statements into the Excel sheet and load the data first into the warehouse in a temp table, and then I need to write manual queries (since it's a temp table it's not in the RPD) to pull all the data.
I suppose I could make the temp table a more permanent table and incorporate it into the RPD, however, the data points change almost each time they had me the file, so I don't think that'll work out well.
And the manual queries aren't the thing that bother me but rather the insert statements I have to generate and then run.
Does anyone know of a way to make this more self-service with just OBIEE? Or is the a tool for this kind of activity that helps load custom lists to be used in a data warehouse?

Hi,
you have to use table BAPICOMREM. Just go to one testing customer and add email address with note to this customer. Then go to SE37 and call BAPI BAPI_ADDRESSORG_GETDETAIL. This BAPI has same structure as BAPI_ADDRESSORG_CHANGE. Hence you will see how you have to fill all structures to change email address and also note.

SOLUTION FOR UNREAD COMCAST MAIL...so far, so good
I went to Comcast.net and created a folder titled "Archive 10-2-13" and then went back into my inbox on the site and clicked the 'select all' box at the top of the email page. I could only see what would fit on my screen, but figured out that if I scrolled ALL the way to the very end (which was a l-o-n-g time for 30,000 emails) and then clicked "move to' at the top of the page and chose "Archive 10-2-13"..all my mail went there and no longer comes up as unread on my iPhone.
I don't know if this will work for other POP accounts (Hotmail, etc.) but HALLELUJAH! I have ZERO unread email messages showing!

Image not displaying in HTML email upload

Hi there,
I've uploaded a HTML email into E10 and linked all images as per the standard process however one is just not displaying. It appears when I look at it in Eloqua, and when I do a preview but when I send a test email it won't and just leaves a blank black box. I'm not sure how I need to remedy this, anyone else come across anything similar?

Hi Marika,
From experience, in the majority of cases this happens when the Outlook HTML rendering engine isn't playing nice with your design. If you are using this client, have you checked the email on other clients or webmail (Gmail, Yahoo!, etc) to confirm? Support can usually help for emails created through the WYSIWIG editor, but custom HTML uploads would need to be reviewed by the person who authored the code. If you can pinpoint it to a particular email client, there are usually quite a few resources online that can provide guidance. Check outHTML Email Design Resources
The first thing I typically check out is whether the image is vertically and horizontally aligned with the elements near it, because Outlook has a tendency to put things into its own tables and slight misalignments can dramatically change the final code. If you're having recurring issues like this, investing in analysis tools like Litmus can be worth it.

Email uploaded PDF document

Hi,
I want to email PDF document uploaded using FileUpload UI element as attachment.
I have seen many posts on this, but not found solution yet.
One workaround suggested is storing uploaded document on server and then sending the document by reading it from specified server path. But there are few problems with this approach. As many users will be accessing this application unique name needs to be generated for each uploaded file.Also, after sending the file it should be deleted from the server.
Is there any way uploaded document (in binary form) can be send via mail without storing it on the server?

Problems sharing photos: email, uploading, etc

EVERY SINGLE TIME I email a photo or try to upload photos to Facebook, I get the color wheel and have to FORCE QUIT iphoto. Help!

Do you have iPhoto or Mail set at your email client? You can check that in iPhoto's General preference pane:

A quick first fix is this: make a duplicate copy of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home()/ Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences..

Photoshop Elements 5 no longer permits email upload to Smugmug

As of this morning my Photoshop Elements 5 program does not offer the email option to "Send to Smugmug." It only offers the choice of emailing, emailing to mobile phone and share with Adobe showcase. I have tried the solution of editing preferences and making sure that US and Canada is my location which was suggested to a person having a similar problem but that solution did not work. Is there anything else I can do to get back my ability to upload photos to Smugmug. Feeling desperate. (PS I am an not very computer literate senior citizen). Thanks!

No I don’t think it’s personal to your computer. I think the way we now connect to social networks and photo sharing sites has moved on a bit. By all means give PSE10 a go. You can use the PSE10 trial free for 30 days and can download it at the link below. Personally I think $79 is a lot to pay for an uploaded (Google Chrome is free) so the trial will let you check out all the new features without a commitment.

Okay, I loaded the page under a different name http://abilityaxis.com/test.html. Viewing the source code doesn't show the yellow.
For demonstration purposes I copied a small amount of the text and changed the colour of what is yellow in Dreamweaver to this pinkish colour (I tried yellow but you couldn't read it)

Can't send email, upload or access ftp.

Firefox email upload window empty. explorer upload is fine.

firefox was working fine with gmail, hotmail etc. Now all of a sudden when trying to attach a file, upload window pops up but there is nothing in it. it will not show any files.
updated firefox to latest version-no avail.
did firefox safemode-no use.
Explorer on same CPU works fine with all emails.
operating system Vista home basic.

Changed the default mailto from Windows to gmail. No difference.
Email does work with firefox i just can't attach anything, because no files come up in the Upload window.
If I close firefox and use explorer all emails work fine.
Like I said Firefox was working fine up until a few days ago. I am not saying something is wrong with firefox, something must have happened to my laptop which affected firefoxe's handling of web based email and nothing else on this CPU.
Funny, the upload window does not work here either. I'll sign out, sign in with explorer and add a screenshot.

Solution to email uploaded attachments

Is there any solution available to email a forms results plus
any
attachments that were uploaded to the expected recipient?
I have a form that currently dumps the data into sql db.. now
they are are
asking to make some changes by adding 3 fields to allow
images / docs to be
uploaded.

proper contact for that issue. Because they are wanting to
allow the upload
of the files.. is there some ext or code available i can
adapt to my code to
insert the data and files into the database.. and then email
the submission
along with the uploaded files to the contact person?

The script is a 3rd party CDONT script.. yes i can modify it
to fit my
needs.. all this is being done on our Intranet.. so i have
full access to
the server. The Pure ASP upload has worked up until version
3.. i have
nothing but trouble with the new version.. so getting the
additional files
online is not an issue..
My issue is.. once they have been uploaded... How can i send
just the files
that were added to individual that requires them?

Try to go in the settings of the mail app itself instead of the phone settings. You should be able to find the sync option there. I have the same phone as yours, I used to use that app, but I no longer do. Therefore, its hard for me to guide you through it.

Why can't I upload photos from iPhoto to an email in gmail?

The folder where the file is located will not show in finder when trying to choose photos to upload to a gmail email.

Upload directly from iPhoto. Select your photos and then select Share. iPhoto questions are best handled in the iPhoto forum of all places.

Uploading photos from iphone to mobileme

hey guys,
so im having a bit of trouble with the "send to mobileme" option in my photos app. ive already created albums on mobileme (through a browser) that support iphone/email uploads, but when i select a photo to upload to MobileMe from my iphone, it takes me to a MobileMe Albums page that says "Loading..." After about a minute, i get a popup with the following message:
"MobileMe login failed
Check your MobileMe name and password in Mail Settings"
What's peculiar is that mail/contacts/calendar syncing works just fine which means theres nothing wrong with my login username or password. I've tried deleting the account and recreating it, but to no avail.
any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

I finally got my gallery running...mine works 50/50. For some reason, on Edge Network, it seems to authenticate ok. When at home, 50/50 chance of getting "Send to MobileMe" to work, on 3G, its never worked.
This is irritating - its a function, MAKE IT WORK. Anyhow, a pointer in case some of you havent thought of it yet. I created a Contact for my Galleries and added the email address as a contact. Essentially, thats what the send to MobileMe does, other than you can select the proper folder.
Someone post if there is a fix. Havent found anything yet, though my initial search for the solution turned me to this thread first.
