Emails saved as rtf do not include attachments

I am using Lion 10.7.2 and just noticed that when I try to save an email as rtf, do not saves attachments despite having checked the due box in the 'save as' dialog.
This problem also happened to me when snow leopard was launched and solved about three months later with a newer mail version.
Does anyone know is this bug with mail is already fixed? I can't find a newer version of mail than 5.1.
Thanks

I checked what you say, I chose a message with pictures. If I open the rtfd text with Nisus, I dan hardly see a part of one picture only. If I open it with TextEdit, I can see the whole message + pictures.
My find is that Mail.app saves text in frames, so other apps may not correctly read the whole text and the attachment, even if there, are not displayed. TextEdit behaves OK.
Therefore it is important what app you use to open saved message.
There may be other attachments, which cannot be of course saved in a document, e.g. a zip archive or so.

    Why is this happenning?
When I forward messages thru internet browser thru laptop, messages forward attachments fine.

I am somewhat confused by your title and post. To clarify, is it:
    1. Messages forwarded from your phone do not show attachments when checked from anywhere.
    2. Messages forwarded from your phone do not show attachments when checked from your phone.
    3. Messages forwarded from anywhere do not show attachments when checked from your phone.

  • Saved pdf file does not include filled in text

i am using adobe acrobat pro; trail version.  I can fill in a fillable pdf file but after saving the file and then emailing the filethe received email attachment does not include my text included in the pdf form?

It most likely does include it in the form, but the PDF viewer that's being used does not display it. If the user were to use Adobe Reader/Acrobat, the form data should appear as expected. The default PDF viewer that mobile devices and some browsers use don't have sufficient support for forms.
If the recipient does not need to interact with the form fields, you can flatten the form before sending it out. This converts the form field appearances to regular page content, so it will very likely appear fine in most any PDF viewer. Post again if you need help flattening form fields using Acrobat.

  • Export to RTF does not include images???

    Hi,
I ve written a script which converts a batch of indesign files to RTF files...I m using this script in a plugin in InDesign CS3 on MAC OS.
    I ve used this:
    exportFile(ExportFormat.rtf, f );
But the converted .rtf files does not include the images present in the .indd files...
what modification should be done to include images? is it possible?
    Someone pls guide me...
    Thanks.

No, that's not possible. The best you can do is to replace the images with their file names, then import those images in the application that you send the RTF files to.

Since we migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 a few months ago, we have had issues with creating tasks by dragging an email into the task folder.  The task gets created but the body of the email does not transfer to the body of the task.  Has

    Hi,
Does this issue occur on all the users on all the Outlook versions?

  • Export emails to a rtf with attachments

I wish to export my emails as rtf with attachments with the titles as filenames so that I can view them as required on both PCs and Macs. without having to use email clients.
How can I do this? The save as function just creates gibberish when read with a text reader.

Which text editor did you use? Not all text editors read RTF.
I just tried moving an .rtfd with attachments saved from Apple Mail to Windows XP. It looked fine in Windows, showing up as a folder with the mail message as RTF inside and the attachments next to it.
As expected, the Mail RTF looked fine in Windows in Microsoft Word and WordPad, and was gibberish in Notepad, because Notepad does not support RTF...it is a pure text-only editor.

  • Email attachment not included in forwarded message - no error message given

A coworker of mine was trying to forward a large 25.6MB pdf over the AT&T network.  She downloaded entire message before hitting forward and selected "include attachments" when given the option.  She could see the icon for the attachment at the bottom of the forwarded message, but the recipient doesn't receive the attachment and it is not reflected in the sent email.  There is no warning or error message given.  She could forward this from her desktop account, so it doesn't seem to be a server based limit on attachments..
This is an exchange server email account and an iphone 5.
    Any ideas?

I too am experiencing this behavior, however, for some reason that I do not know, the attachments appear ok one day and then they appear embedded. This is becoming detrimental to my work!

    Hello,
I use TextEdit quite a lot. The problem I have encountered is that TextEdit will many times save plain text as rtfd files and not rtf. Does anybody know how I should proceed with TextEdit in order to save a file only as rtf and not rtfd? (rich text with attachments). As rtfd files, the files are impossible to open elsewhere and will also not load up properly as an email attachment. TY

  • How to modify Exchange 2013 TXT(SMS) notifications to not include the subject line or any of the message body of emails

We have a group of users who are not permitted to download/save any emails they receive onto public or personal devices, they are only allowed to log in manually and view their mail through OWA (I realize there are ways to use OWA to download mail, however
the users are explicitly forbidden from doing this, and any countermeasures that can be put in place, are/will be).
With our new Exchange 2013 server, it seems it has the built in capability to send TXT(SMS) notifications instantly when a user receives mail.  We would like to allow our users to utilize this feature, however currently, the notification includes not
only the sender of the email, but also the subject line and part of the message body.  As it stands, we can't have this as part of the email would then be saved on their device.
I am wondering if there is a way to modify Exchange 2013 to not include the subject or message body, so that our users could at least get an instant notification 1-that they have a new email and 2-who it's from?
Any information would be appreciated, thanks!

We can configure SMS Text Message Notification for various situation like Calendar notifications, Voice mail notifications, Email notifications if your user's Mailbox hosted in Exchange Server 2013
To set up your phone to receive text messages when you want to have Calendar notifications, Voice mail notifications, Email notifications use the steps as follows
Note: Text message fees are applicable and it will appear on your phone bill.
Login to Outlook Web App, click Options > See All Options > Phone > Voice Mail tab.
In the Notifications section, choose one of the following options:
    Calendar notifications...
    Voice mail notifications...
Email notifications using an Inbox rule...
    Turn On Notification
First step is to turn on the notification of text messaging. Click Turn on Notifications
Select Setup Notification: Need to select your operator,
It will request to provide your Mobile Operator.
Note: As of now Exchange Server 2013 supports only the below list of operators.
    Locale: United State
Mobile Operator: AT & T, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless
    Locale: Canada,
    Mobile Operator:Bell Telus Mobility
    Locale: Romania
    Mobile Operator:Orange Romania
Provide your telephone number. It will send you the passcode on your mobile number.
    Type the passcode for confirmation

  • Adobe Acrobat X - convert outlook email to pdf and include attachments as pdf

Is there a way to save an Outlook email as a PDF and include attachments as extra pages within the same PDF? I know I can convert an email to PDF and it will include the attachments as links.  My end users feel that their clients won't understand the link feature, and/or the paper clip on the side pane.  They'd rather convert an email and have it's attachments converted also, making the pdf an email message + converted attachments....all in one process.  The only way currently is to open each attachment and convert them individially, then combine the email pdf and attachment pdf together.  Too many steps involveed there.
    make sense?

I deleted emails from my windows emails and when I went into my pictures there was all my recently deleted items as pdf adobe files and I cannot right click and delete. But why would my deleted emails be going to my pictures in the first place. So i think it must be in how the adobe program is set up and need to know how to change the settings so my deleted emails are not sent to my pictures.I do not know what other details you would require?

    Hello,
For this, you need to have SAP - DMS (Document management system) configured in your system.
SAP DMS are for storing documents such as CAD drawings, Materials pictures etc.
With the document management system, users will be able to view the documents with ease within their SAP systems.
Installing the SAP DMS requires a little bit of planning on how you want to do it.
You have to give a little thoughts to stuff such as :-
    1.  The total numbers of documents that will be store monthly.
    2.  The average file size of each documents.
    3.  The capacity of your present R/3 system.
    4.  Your present network bandwidth.
    5.   Document Archiving Strategy.
    6.   Backup and Recovery Plan.
Additional purchasing of hardware are required, especially if you have large amount of documents to stored.
With this in mind, you can then decide on how you want to do it.
You can do this in a few ways :-
    1.  Import the documents into the R/3 system.
    2.  Use an external document server.
    3.  Have a dedicated PCs where all the documents are stored.
Most companies that intend to used DMS will opt for Option 2 as they does not want to overstretch the R/3 database.
Options 1 requires you to setup the conversion interface.
The conversion interface allows R/3 to automatically covert your files and import it into the R/3 database.
Here is a simple example of storing documents into your PCs, just to have a feel how the SAP DMS works:-
For those using Citrix, you have to set this at the Citrix Server where the SAPGUI is located.
    Configure SM30 - V_TDWE_C1
Put this command in your autoexec.bat
    SET HOSTNAME=PC1234
    Restart your pc.
You can create/manage your documents in transaction code CV01N / CV02N
Assigning Documents to a Material Master Record
Access a material master record in Create or Change mode, and select Basic Data.
To create links to documents, choose Additional data -> Document data.
The Link to Documents dialog box appears.
Assign one or more documents to the material.
If you do not know what the document number is, you can search for it using the search help or by choosing Find document.
When assigning a document to a material, you have the following options:
    1. Viewing the document by choosing it in the Link to Documents dialog box.
    2. Viewing any originals of the document by positioning the cursor on the document and
choosing Display originals in the Link to Documents dialog box.
To return to the Basic Data screen, choose Continue.
    Save your data.

  • RoboHelp  for Word 7 is not saving the rtf and won't compile .hlp

I use RoboHelp for Word 7 to produce WinHelp files. It's been working fine for several months on this computer.
Just in the past week, I had an issue with my Word 2007 when trying to open a .doc file. I got the message that the converter nswrd632.wpc wasn't found. After searching on the Microsoft forums, I edited the registry and registered that converter.
But now (and this may be unconnected to the Word converter message) RH won't save the .docx or .rtf file. Whenever I click Save All, nothing happens. When I click Exit Project, the message comes up about needing to save the files, and I click Yes to All. Nothing happens except the message closing. No files are saved and RH does not exit. The only way I can exit RH is to click No, which of course means my changes aren't saved. I can't save the .docx file through the Word menu, either.
I also cannot compile the file. Again, no error message, just doesn't compile.
I have searched the forums for RH for Word, with the result that I've reinstalled RH, made sure the RH add-ins are enabled, and deleted all the .dot files. Nothing is working. I went to Peter Grainge's Snippet 112 and followed the directions there--no change.
I have found that after making my edits in the Word document, if I manually save the RTF file by going to the Word Save As directory, the edits will be saved and RH will compile the .hlp file - one time.
    Any ideas?

Hi, I have a nearly identical problem, except my project uses .doc files instead of .rtf files. I was able to solve the "cannot save" problem by following the information below. I still have not resolved the "cannot compile" problem.
I'm using Windows XP, RH7 Build 100, Office 2007. My project was created using Office 2003 and I did not experience any of these issues until I recently upgraded to Office 2007.
This fix was sent to me by my group's "tech" guy.
A number of Adobe RoboHelp for Word 7 users have reported that they cannot save changes or generate an output. The cause has been isolated to the RHComAdd.DLL being disabled.
    Check for that in Word:
For versions up to 2003 go to Help | About | Disabled Items. If RHComAdd.DLL appears, re-enable it.
For Word 2007, go to the Office Button | Word Options | Add-ins. Under "Manage" select Disabled Items and click Go. If RHComAdd.DLL appears, highlight it and re-enable it. (THIS IS WHAT I DID)
Alternatively, you can re-register the DLL. Go to Start | Run and type in the following line, assuming you have installed RoboHelp to the default location.
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 7\RoboHELP\RHComAdd.dll"
How does this DLL get disabled? The cause has been identified as a Word document being opened in Internet Explorer rather than in Word.
This problem was fixed in Build 7.0.2.
Hope this helps you. I'm still working on the compile error.
