Embedded Component Button Disabled

Hi everyone,
I created an Embedded Component with a button to be added on a standard TI so I also created the EventHandler for the onClick properties of the button that will perform the action of a custom object, but upon loading the page, the button is disabled. What do you think is missing from my configurations? Below is the screenshot of my event handler.

the instance binding is missing for sure!
An action can only be executed on a selected instance of your custom business object. What you need to do:
- Create an "Inport" in your embedded component.
- Set AutoFire and AutoExecute in the properties of this Inport (right-hand-side) to TRUE
- Select an EventHandler that is executed onFire
- Bind your UI component with the "BOOperation" Read to an instance of your custom BO (if there is none you might wanna create one either via ABSL or via an Operation dynamically)
- Bind typical the "Outport" which sends the ID from the standard TI to the "Inport" of your embedded component (normally I use this for the dynamic instance creation via BOOperation create)
When your UI component is bound to your custom BO the Button will be click-able and the action will be executed. I am sorry that I currently cannot help with screenshots but I am sure something similar is already explained somewhere in SCN...

How to set button disabled property based on backing bean method

I have a table and a button on the page. When user selects certain table row I want to enable/disable the button.
My backing bean (which has backing bean scope in the task flow where the page is) is

and in runtime, desired behavior does not work.

I changed my backing bean method like this:

Still same problem in design time there is a warning and 500 error in runtime.

Hi,
This is what I've done and it's working fine for me.
In EC, define a InPort and bind the ParameterName to your DataModel:
In my case, I use "accountorgoifeco.OIF.xuicomponent" to add into another tab my EC. Open it, and in the Extensibility Explorer, choose an available anchor and click in "Add view with Embedded Component".
Insert a name and choose your EC:
Then click on Bind button...
Select a Public outport from the ByD screen and your previously defined Inport on your EC. Choose the parameter to bind and click Bind.
Save and Activate the ByD screen.
As you can see in the next screen, the parameter AccountID is passed to the EC.

Set JSF Command Button Disabled

I have a JSF command button, I would like to dynamically change button disabled based on certain condition.
I tried in the actionListener code in my managedbean
like
UIComponent component = event.getComponent();
component.setRendered(false);However it makes button not visible, couldn't find setDisabled.
How can I do this?

Hi,
Basically, you can change the button status: enabled/didasled from JavaScript by changing the button css.
You can also do this from JSF.
The commandButton element has the disabled attribute and you can change the status depending on your condition.

If you use AJAX (ex. a4j) there is the same principle. In backing bean you can check your condition and in jsp you'll change to disabled.

Replacing an embedded component by another one

Hi!
I have created a WD component interface (let's name it INTERFACE) and I am using this in a main component (let's call it MAIN). Then I have two interface Implementations (many will follow), let's name them IMPL_1 and IMPL_2.
In the MAIN-component I have an ViewcontainerUIElement, that is connected with the Usage of the interface. When the user clicks a button, a specific implementation - e.g. IMPL_1 should be embedded there. this works by calling CREATE_COMPONENT( 'IMPL_1' ).
If the user clicks another button, another implementation of the interface should be shown there - so I remove the existing component via DELETE_COMPONENT and create the new one with CREATE_COMPONENT( 'IMPL_2' ).
That does not throw any error, but the embedded view disappears and will never come back again.
So my question is: what is the easiest way to replace an embedded component IMPL_1 with another one IMPL_2 - both implementing the same interface! This should be fairly simple, as I'm referencing just the interface in the MAIN-Component.
Any hints? I'm just finding very difficult solutions with PREPARE_DYNAMIC_NAVIGATION and so on - but I don't want to recreat all Plug-Connections again as they have been connected in the designer using the interface-definition....

IOS 6.1.3 WIFI button disable problem on iPhone4S - It is definitely a BUG

I have a full house of Apple products from iPhone -> iPAD -> iPod -> Mac -> AirPort, and I am suffering from WIFI button disable problem after upgrade to iOS 6.1.3, without any clue after calling Apple Support, factory reset and reload iPhone for more than 10 times. I also try all tips on Apple Support Communicties except put it into a freezer, still no any luck. Apple Support suggests that my iPhone may be factly!
Tonight, I can get my WIFI back in below sequence:
1. Switch to English language from Chinese
2. Turn Cellular Data Option to off
3. Reset Network Setting
After the phone reset, the WIFI row show 'Not Connected', and I can select my home WIFI (Airport Express) without trouble. To prove my finding is workable to all case, can you try the same and update here if it works for you?

I sympathise with you as my iPhone 4s is 7 months old and is also greyed out. I tried everthing except the potentially stupid one of putting the iphone in a freezer! I took the phone back to the vendor who sent it away and repaired it. But alas after a month it is greyed out again. I have again returned to the vendor and he will repair it again. I asked him how and he told me it is a software conflict and he has to spend around 9 hours downloading a patch repair. Apple are aware of this issue and I feel completely let down because they have not posted a fix on the net. Presently I am living and working in Dubai, back in the UK I am sure my iPhone would have been exchanged for a new one. I need my iPhone for my work and cannot afford to just buy a new one so I have been let down and despite for years being a supporter of Apple and their products I shall think twice before investing in any more Apple products.

Add & use custom jars in "Java embedding" component

I need to generate pdf file in process.
So I included "Java embedding" component, and write my code. For clarity example:

The class path setting is incorrect.

Well, you made a good start with SEO by getting rid of the iWeb default navigation since it doesn't help the spiders and, out there in the real world, there are more people than you would think with javascript turned off in their browsers.
One of the downsides of iWeb is that it doesn't allow for the alt attribute in the img tag. Its well worth adding these to give you extra keywords even if you have captioned all your images. Use iWeb SEO Tool for this...

Firing Exit plug from the embedded component

Hello All,
I am working on a scenario where I am developing a Webdynpro component which is child to the MainComponent.
MainComponent view has links to access my child component as I have exposed my child component as Public part.
Once my application is access by MainComponent, I can only go back to MainComponent.
Now I need to fire an exit plug with URL (say sdn.sap.com) from my child component which will open new URL in same browser.
When I defined exit plug and passed on Url parameter to it, my component throughs exception saying "Cannot fire exit plug from embedded component".
Is there anyway I can achieve this?
Please guide me.

Actually, no. It is optional -- you may be either logged-in or not, in later case WD runs under some internal Guest account. So forceLogoffClientUser works in either case.

Making the button disabled in the pop up window

I have created a pop up with button type as buttons_yesno. The pop automatically creates two buttons YES and NO
The pop up window contains two fields - Manufacturer and Description as input fields.
The requirement i need is -> till the user enters the data into both the input field i wanted the yes button to be disabled.
i have done the below code for the pop up to appear.

When ever you create the popup, store the window reference globally.
Use the method - SET_BUTTON_ENABLED of if_wd_window based on the input field values.
Use the GET_ATTRIBUTE for that input field get the value into lv_value,
if lv_value eq initial.

Position of component buttons off artboard

Does Flash Catalyst support positioning of component buttons off the artboard? I have an image that I would like to scroll with a vertical scroller and then embed external url click links. The page that I'm working on is here in the portfolio section:

The image is scrolling but the buttons are locked in one position. Any help on making the buttons scroll with the image would be appreciated.

Can you give us some additional info on how you've structured your Catalyst project? The scrolling area is a Data List, I assume. If you double-click to edit the list and then double-click again to edit the Repeated Item, what do you see? If you place both an image and your row of buttons inside here, then each image and its corresponding buttons should scroll in lockstep together.
Or do you only want one set of buttons total, not one per image? If so, I'm confused about the behavior you're looking for -- if the buttons are not associated with any one specific image, which image would they sit on top of / next to?

Cannot create chm layout, "Next" dialog button disabled

I have used and created chm formats in the past on my project. Now all of a sudden when I try to create one the dialog opens and allows me to designate the location, toc, index etc. but the only button available to me is Save and Cancel. I can't use the "Next" button (disabled) to go to any other dialog. Has anyone had this problem before. I'm using RBH 7.03 and generating locally. I am wondering if this could be from a security hotfix or something like that. I haven't tried reinstalling, I thought I would see if anyone has had this before going to that option.
Also, I was asked to print to PDF and we noticed that the footer doesn't print in the PDF. Is this a default of RBH? I don't see a way to change it so it will print at the end of each topic.

You should only see Save if you have accessed the properties of the layout. If you double click, then you should see Finish and Cancel. Previous and Next will be disabled as there is no next for this layout.

You haven't said whether you are talking about printing topics from the output or creating a printed document. If the latter, the headers and footers do not print. SAPGUI (new session) button disable in Netweaver

Hi all,
I have a few users where their SAPGUI's "New Session" button is disable if they launch it via Netweaver (single-sign on). However, if they sign in to another computer, this issue did not arise.
Likewise, any user that sign in to this particular PC will have it's "Net Session" button disabled.
They are using Internet Explorer 7 version 7.0.5730.13
My Netweaver version is SAP Netweaver 7.0 (2004s) SPS 15 (Release March 2008)
I'm just wondering (confirming) if the reason behind this is because of compatibilty between Netweaver and Internet Explorer (similar to compatibility issue between Netweaver & Internet Explorer 8 earlier this year)?
Or could it be due to a different (older) version of Java Runtime Environment that is installed onto the user's computer?
