Embedded qt video plays automatically

I have embedded a qt video on this web page.
http://www.eaec.org/bookstore/video/transformations-1.htm
It plays properly but instead of waiting for the user to click play, it automatically begins downloading the video despite fact that I set the autoplay parameter to false. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

In case this might help, here is the code:
<OBJECT CLASSID="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B" WIDTH="320"HEIGHT="257"

<PARAM name="SRC" VALUE="t-1.mov">
<PARAM name="AUTOPLAY" VALUE="false">
<PARAM name="CONTROLLER" VALUE="true">

    Hi..
Try troubleshooting the Flash plugin which is required for most YouTube cotent as well as other sites.
    Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
    Very important to uninstall first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

  • Embedded vimeo video playing again after clicking "done".

On my personal website, and others I have visited, an embedded Vimeo video will play again from the from I last stopped at after clicking "done" to exit full screen mode. Have not being able to tell if this is an iOS 8 problem or a Vimeo problem. This is from within Safari and NOT the Vimeo app.
On mobile you can see the issue here: www.davidnitzsche.com
EDIT: After a test from a friends phone not running iOS 8 the issue was not present. This appears to be an iOS 8 issue.
    Thanks!

  • Display Thumbnail before Embedded flash video plays

    Hey Folks,
I'm trying to embed a flash video into a column on my website. I'm using Deamweaver 8.0. I go to Insert > Media > Flash Video and follow the steps. Everything works well enough, but when I preview the webpage in either Firefox or Safari, the video area is simply a plain black box, with the 'player-controller' below it. Clicking 'play' displays and plays the video.
What I want is for the first frame of the video to display until the visitor clicks "play", then the video to play as usual. I've spent the last few hours trying to google and search this forum, but haven't found an answer to this. Is it something in the development of the flash video (I used iSkysoft Video Converter to convert an iMovie to Flash)?
Is there a simple way I can have the first frame appear before the video plays?
    Thanks so much.
    Cheers
    Carl

    Hey Folks,
Nevermind, I figured it out. I had to delete the first frame of the video. Works fine now.
    Cheers
    Carl

  • Embedded Vimeo videos play when published on desktop but won't show up online

I have a site that I updated recently … when I finished revising in iWeb and published it to my URL none of the embedded Vimeo videos show up.  According to Vimeo customer support, and my web host, there is "no code or file" in the space where the video/html snippet should be. Tried rebuilding pages from scratch, still no video.  Same process worked before and my site was functioning fine until I made this most recent update.  Any reason why embed code would work prior to update, and not now?  Why it finds the video when published to a folder on my desktop, but not when it's published to URL?  Working with iWeb 3.0 and OS 10.9.4.

From your statements I guess that you put the files on the server yourself.
Make sure that you put ALL the files and folders on the server.
And why not provide a link to the page?

  • Embedded Flash videos play on 32 bit Win7, not on 64 bit Win7, IE9 32 bit

    Hello,
I have two PCs.  One is running 32 bit Win7 SP1, the other 64 bit Win 7 SP1.  Both have IE9 32 bit and the latest version of Flash 32 bit, 10.3.183.7.  This page http://www.iorr.org/talk/read.php?1,999739 and others at iorr.org have embedded YouTube Flash videos.  On the 32 bit machine, they play fine on both Admin and Standard accounts.  On the 64 bit machine, the embedded videos are only visible on the Admin account.  Standard accounts show an empty box with a broken icon symbol where the video should be.  (Note:  not trying to use IE9 64 bit.)
I've spent a couple hours uninstalling and reinstalling Flash trying to see the videos on a Standard account on the 64 bit PC.  Nothing works.  Any suggestions?  Note that normal Flash videos work fine on the 64 bit PC Standard accounts.  Only embedded videos fail.
During this exercise, I noticed that the 32 bit PC has the Flash Player Control Panel under Control Panel->System and Security.  The 64 bit PC does not have it there, but I can manually bring it up from a CPL file in the SysWOW64 folder.  Not sure if that's part of the problem or a different problem.
    Thanks for your time.

I spent hours and hours on the same problem. My computer has a slightly different configuration. I am using Win7 32 bit, but experienced the same problems. Embedded Flash is working under Admin account, but not under other accounts. Many de-installs and re-installs, but nothing seemed to help. Until I found this internet post:
    http://superuser.com/questions/244316/embedded-video-is-not-shown-in-internet-explorer-9-r c-or-beta
The solution offered in that post solved all my problems. Hurray!!!
    Solution:
    * Open REGEDIT
    * Find the following key:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/x-shockwave-flash
    * Delete the key
    * Re-install flash
    * Problem solved (in my case)
In the replies of the above mentioned link another solution was given (in stead of deleting the key)
    * Right click the above mentioned key
    * Change the access rights and allow all users read access to the key (did not check this myself)
In order to keep the solution safe in this thread, please find a copy of the info in the link above here:
In IE 9 RC or in beta, the embedded video is not shown in the web page. I verified the security settings in "internet options". Did not find any issue. Please find the screen shot below. I am able to view the flash videos in Youtube. But, for some reason, in some sites the embedded video is not shown.
I don't have this issue with Firefox.
    UPDATE:
I am able to see view the embedded video in Admin account. But not able to view it in Standard account.
    UPDATE:
As it works as administrator, use Process Monitor and filter the Status on ACCESS DENIED.
This allows you to troubleshoot what key the iexplore.exe process can't access.
@TomWij, Thanks for the suggestions. The Process Monitor hint helped to nail down the issue. When run with standard privileges, it is getting "ACCESS DENIED" for reading the key
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/x-shockwave-flash.
When I elevated the privilege to Admin account, it did not have any issue. Then I uninstalled flash, deleted the registry key and then installed flash again. Now, I am able to view the embedded video in standard account.

  • The last YouTube video plays automatically when I launch Firefox

I upgraded to Firefox 13.0. I have several tabs "pinned" including one for YouTube. Now every time I launch Firefox, it automatically plays the last video I played in YouTube, whether I click on that tab or not. How do I stop that from happening? It's highly annoying. Thanks.

    What is the setting here?
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: Don’t load tabs until selected

  • Whenever I play a video the flash player logo shows and I have to click it first. How can I make videos play automatically?

Every time I go to play a video the F symbol appears and I have to click it each time to play the video. Alternatively I have to right click the page and go into "no script" and allow that particular page. This didnt use to happen until recently. Running windows vista Firefox 3.6.
    thanks

If you use extensions like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
You need to check the (global) settings in NoScript to see how you can unblock Flash content.

  • Will a video play after being converted to a Powerpoint?

I want to add some videos made in Final Cut Pro to a Keynote presentation. The presentation might ultimately be played on a PC through Powerpoint. Will an embedded QT video play in a Powerpoint made originally in a Keynote?
    Thanks.

Turned on after holding all three buttons for half a minute.  But I'm not convinced this is the end of its troubles.  Definitely getting a Samsung after this- I've never had a problem with any of THEIR electronics, and they're not going anywhere.  The big worry for me is I'll need to send my Z10 in and they'll no longer exist to fix it.

  • Flash videos playing weirdly in firefox - malformed

I have had this problem for a long time, running through all versions of Firefox 3 (including the latest 3.5 preview releases).
I am updated to the latest version of Flash, and am running Windows XP (also fully up to date).
All flash videos play fine in IE8.
On some sites, while videos are playing, the picture flicks quickly between a normal picture and the effect shown in the screenshot - the usual image tiny, with weird blurred lines around it. This continues through the whole video, flicking very rapidly, and making the video effectively unwatchable. The effect remains even when the video is paused. I've attached screenshots below which should make the nature of the distortion clear.
I have experienced the problem most on Youtube (as I use this more than other video sites). The only other site I have noted the problem on is facebook video. Metacafe, Google Videos, Dailymotion, Vimeo and BBC iPlayer did not exhibit any distortion.
On Youtube, it is sometimes possible to play videos properly by switching to high quality, but usually it does the same thing, but flicking to a much larger picture, so it only seems to be blurry around the very edges.
I should also mention that embedded YouTube videos play fine on other pages.
My computer is pretty old - with an AMD Athlon Processor 996 MHz and 752 MB of RAM - but definitely has the capacity to play these videos, as it manages on Internet Explorer.
I created a thread on the firefox support forums before I came here - not much progress was made, but I should mention a few details of the only other reported case of this problem.
"Matt" seems to be experiencing the same problem on Firefox, also with a pretty old computer, but on Windows 2000, not XP. He reports the same problem on Opera also on his computer; I haven't tested this on my system.
Personally, I am at a complete loss with this problem - I have no idea how it can be caused, or fixed, and it's a major obstacle to casual web browsing. (I have to load Internet Explorer just to watch a youtube video!)
I really hope someone is able to shed some light on this issue; please ask if you would like any more details on my system.
    Thanks.
    (Ben)

    Hello all,
Yes to follow up Ben, I'm experiencing the exact same problems as him. I changed browser to Firefox 3.0.11 a couple of months ago and hence downloaded the Flash plugin for Firefox. I noticed the issue straight away in Youtube, but not on other sites. As I attributed the problem to Firefox, I then downloaded Opera 9.64 - but experienced the same problem. This led me to believe the issue was the Flash plugin, as both browsers are served by the same Adobe plugin for 'alternative browsers' to IE.
I then tried IE6 again in youtube and it didn't have the problem on standard view, however the problem was (and still is) occurring in full screen view. I'm nearly 100% sure this problem didn't occur before I downloaded the Flash plugin for Firefox / Opera. Regardless of whether that is the issue, the problem was definitely not happening on my system in IE6 earlier this year.
As Ben said, my computer is fairly old but well managed and up to date. OS is Windows 2000 SP4, system is AMD Athlon 900 (slot A), 512 Mb RAM, 16Mb Voodoo 3 graphics, m/board MSI MS-6191.
I've also tried removing the Flash plugin for Firefox/Opera and for IE6 and reinstalling it but had no joy there either. I would try an updated version of IE too but IE6 is the last version compatible with Win 2k.
    Any help appreciated, thanks.
    Matt

  • How to stop the video from playing automatically

I've imported video to flash using the Import Video function
and one of their skins. How do i set the parameters so the video
does not play automatically? Thanks, K

Click on whatever your using to display the video, whether it
be actual video footage embedded or your using an Adobe video
player component to display it while the footage is hosted
    remotely.
Then go to the top toolbar dropdown Window > Component
    Inspector.
If your video object is embedded on the stage, look in the
Component Inspector window, on the Parameters tab, there will be
options, one of them is autoPlay, set that to False.
If you are using one of Adobe's pre-built components to
display your video, click your player, and in the Component
Inspector there will be a checkbox labelled "Automatically Play",
    uncheck that.

  • How can I disable .mp4 videos from playing automatically on Yahoo News? (and elsewhere)

I posted a similar question last week about disabling html5 videos and that seems to have worked. But I notice that when I look at the Yahoo News main page, some videos (thumbnails) are playing automatically as I'm scrolling up and down the page. I find that annoying, distracting, and is probably consuming data on my limited plan.
I see other questions posted about .mp4, but those are all how to PLAY rather than NOT play videos.
    Any help would be appreciated.

You can look at: Stop Autoplay: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/1765

  • Embedded youtube videos will no longer play in Powerpoint 2010

Since upgrading to Flashplayer 11, I can no longer play embedded youtube videos in powerpoint 2010.  I get the error message that I have to upgrade Flashplayer.  I have performed several clean installs, yet I continue to get the same error message stating that I have to upgrade Flashplayer.  How do I correct this?

i know right here is one fix if u got 2010 powerpoint  youtube did some changes thats not compatable with it . 1 way around it that might work for you is within the use old embeded code  were it says version=3 change it # into 2 insted of 3. do this in both appeareances.
    example   <object width="1280" height="720"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1rcqwRgVvvw?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1rcqwRgVvvw?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="1280" height="720" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
change the #3 to the #2 thats it. then paste it in your powerpoint insert video from web.

  • Is it possible to embedding a video in Keynote and then play as a PDF?

    Hi
Is it possible to embedding a video in Keynote and then play as a PDF?  I want to do a PowerPoint/Keynote presentation that includes videos from YouTube.  My preference is use Keynote although I do have Office 2004.
My issue is that the places where we present have their own equipment so we are encouraged to bring the presentation on a USB/portable HD, and they tend to be Windows environments.
In my perfect (ignorant) world, I'd
    Create it in Keynote
    Add/embed videos from YouTube
Save it as a multi platform file like a PDF
I guess the key issue is:
Is there a way to create a multi platform presentation with videos (I think Keynote and PPT require different video formats???) that can be carried on USB/portable HD?
    Thanks

No, it's not possible without using hacks. And Adobe can't support or endorse hacks
Bear in mind that not only there are new features in a new version which can't possibly be recreated by an older version - also, there are enhancements to existing features, which would make them render differently in the two versions.
That said, there are people posting such hacks, as Sébastien pointed out.
