Embedding expanding flash ads in existing web page.. help!

Hi guys!
I am having a problem and can't find a site anywhere that
helps. My company have just started selling expanding flash ad
spaces but I have no idea how to make these work on a current and
very clunky site. The space on the page I have for skyscraper ads
is 120px wide but obviously, flash ads that expand are much wider
((my current one is 240px wide) and need to expand over the rest of
the content. Does anyone know of a site or can tell me what I have
to do in my HTML and CSS to make these work?
Thanks,
Amy

Flash by default goes to the top layer when you put it in a
web page (an annoyance sometimes, but very convenient for this sort
of thing). Just size your ad for the non-expanded skyscraper, and
it should work.
This may not be the package you are using, but if you go to
dartmotif.com (a DoubleClick/Google site) and download their ad kit
and some ads, you'll find some documentation that may answer other
questions.

  • Embedding Photo Gallery in an existing web page

    Hello Bridge Forum Community!
    I am working with a web developer and she designed a template for us to use.  I want to incorporate a "web gallery" that I created using CS4 Bridge for WIndows into my existing Dreamweaver template.  When I put the HTML code in the table the slideshow show up really really small.  If I use the IE zoon and put it to 400% I can see it, and the controls all work - I just need it to fill out the entire space in the table without being miniscule in size.  I'm beating my head against the wall to figure this out.  Any help would be most appreciated!  Thank You!

    All that other site did was use a table layout and put the gallery within a table cell.  The same effect could be done with a container div.
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" name="flashmo_060_photo_gallery" width="800" height="800" align="middle" id="flashmo_060_photo_gallery">
           <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
           <param name="movie" value="flashmo_060_photo_gallery.swf" />
           <param name="quality" value="high" />
           <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" />
           <embed src="flashmo_060_photo_gallery.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="800" height="800" name="flashmo_060_photo_gallery" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
         </object>
    That's the only code you need to bring over from the first page to your page.  Then just make sure paths are all set so that your other page can read the flash file and you should be good to go.

  • Embedding flash movie in a web page

    I have created a flash movie using actionscript 3 and an xml file with a list of images for a slideshow. After clicking publish, I can view the slideshow by previewing the html file it creates for you. However, I want to embed this flash movie in a different web page. When I try to add it in Dreamweaver, by dragging and dropping the swf file into the page, a flash placeholder is generated, but the movie does not play when previewed. It is just blank white space.
    Now I watched the Tom Green tutorials on "flash the easy way" and my flash (CS4 professional) did NOT generate the AC_RunActiveContent.js files. I did find and download the file and manually added it to my Scripts folder. Still no joy.
    I will note that the html file that embeds the flash video is in a different directory than the movie itself. Surely this cannot be the issue, otherwise people's websites would be incredibly messy with multiple flash videos. I am trying to put all the flash movies in their own child directories of a /flash directory to keep them neat and organized.
    I am not sure what to do next. How do you make the dang thing play on a web page that is in another directory?

    If you are loading content ala using an xml file, that may be the source of the problem.  When you load a Flash file into a web page, that web page becomes the frame of reference for any files that the swf loads.  So if you tested this where the html file was in the same folder, but then moved things into different folders, then you need to adjust the Flash to load things as if it is in the html file's folder

  • How to create a jquery as a table instead of a web page so that it can be embedded into an existing web page

    I am new to Dreamweaver and I just built a jquery with 3 tabs of information I want to put into my existing web page.  It has saved it as an entire webpage, but it needs to be a table that I can insert into my existing web page.  It's 3 tabs that have product information under each tab for my customers to view. How do I do this?

    Let's start at the very beginning.

    Once your site is defined -- including the remote server log-in credentials, you can upload files or folders of files by simply clicking the UP arrow which PUTS files to remote server.  See screenshot.  Conversely, the DOWN arrow GETS files from the remote server and saves them to your Local hard drive.

  • Help inserting a flash video into my web page

    Hello!
    I'd love some help inserting a flash video into my web page. My web page is hosted by Viviti, templated, and edited online. I can add html to it, and I have the html source for my flash video. I also have uploaded the flash file to the server. Since I am very html illiterate, though, I need some help rewriting the html script so it can be published. There are two problems- firstly, no 'headers' or 'body' allowed in the script- these are already a part of the template. Secondly, I don't know how to rewrite it to refer to the uploaded files. It's also imperative that the full screen mode functions. I've pasted the source code for the flash video here. Please help!!!
    Thanks!

    What you basically need to do is copy the sections of content from the code you show into the template (assuming the template already provides the <head> and <body> sections of the page.  So in the head section of what you show, take everything starting with...
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    all the way down thru...
    </script>
    , inclusive (in the head section only), and paste that into the head section of your template.
    Similarly, take everything that lies between the <body> ... </body> tags (exclusive of the body tags) and paste it into the body section of your template wherever you plan to display the Flash file.

  • I add pictures to existing web page using iweb(3.0.1) and new pictures show in all browsers EXCEPT firefox. Previous patches seem only good for iweb 2.X

    web page created with iweb (3.0.1). worked great in firefox, then I added additional photos to an existing web page. All other browsers see these new pictures EXCEPT firefox. There seems to have been a previous issue with new pages, but fix appears only fro iweb2.x
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == new photos added to existing page

    Do you see any error messages about getElementsByClassName in the Tools > Error Console ?
    That was the problem with content generated with an older version of iWeb.
    Content that has been generated with such an older version needs to be regenerated with that never version and uploaded to the web server.
    Never versions of iWeb should cause any problems.

  • Embedding Crystal Reports with parameters in web page

    Hi,
    I have created a sample report file and configured it with a parameter field. On embedding this report file in the web page, as expected I am prompted to enter value for the parameter. After entering value and clicking OK, CrystalReportViewerServlet delegates the call to the custom JDBC connector implementation which is the data provider. However, the web page doesnu2019t show the retrieved resultset but shows a page with some text like this:
    {"update":{"children":[{"children":[
    {"args":{"curPage":1,"numPages":"1"},"cons":"bobj.crv.newSelectPageControl"},{"args":{"searchText":""},"cons":"bobj.crv.newSearchTextControl"}
    ],"cons":"bobj.crv.newToolbar"},{"args":{"displayDrilldownTab":true,"initTabIdx":0},"children":[{"args":{"isMainReport":true,"label":"Main Report","viewStateId":"1"},"children":[{"args":{"content":"\r\n
    On debugging I could see, that the parameter value from the prompt is correctly passed from the CrystalReportViewerServlet to the custom Connector (i.e., the sql query is updated with the parameter value) and the connector fetches the data also.
    I also tried embedding another .rpt file with few parameter fields configured (where user input values are just passed to the details section of the report for display). However on running this web page also I get the same error.
    Report files with no parameter fields configured are working fine when embedded in web page.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    I would take a look at running our simple [sample application |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/307224d2-3d11-2c10-fe86-d87bab901bee&overridelayout=true]that views reports to see if you have the issue there.

    How can I add an episode to an existing web page using iWeb?
    I could probably figure this out but I am afraid if I make changes to the site and re-upload it to the podcast area I will have just doubled it. I see them repeated from time to time.
    What is the proper protocal? Thanks

    Hi apple-owner,
    Method 1.
    To create this scatter-plot, I selected the whole of Columns A and B. (Shift click on the Column reference tabs).
    The plot ignores blank rows, but they are "ready" for new data:
    Method 2
    If you did not select whole columns, you can extend the "active" rows. Rows 1-5 selected:
    Add more data rows and drag the fill handle (small white circle, bottom right) down

  • Embed a Flash movie in existing GoLive page? HELP!!

    I want to embed a Flash movie in existing GoLive page. I have a .flv file that I imported to a flash document. I published it and it made a .html, .swf, .js and Skin.js files. I don't want to use the .html file it made. How do I embed the SWF file and also have the skin.swf show up and work on my GL page? The Skin.swf is the controller.
    I'm new at working with Flash files and I can't find any tutorials on this subject.
    I'm working in GL CS2

    Copy the OBJECT/EMBED or JAVASCRIPT source code from the auto-generated HTML file and paste that in your GoLive HTML.

  • Access existing web pages from '08?

    Here's the deal - I have had web pages set up with iWeb '06 w/Tiger, no problem. I installed (on a separate disk) Leopard, and iLife 08. So, if I boot from my Tiger disk, all is well, I can edit my web pages using iWeb '06.
    When I boot to my Leopard drive, and use iWeb '08, it just comes up to the default 'choose your layout' - it knows nothing about my existing .Mac web pages.
    How do I open my existing web pages from a different drive / partition using iWeb '08, that was created from iWeb '06 on a different boot drive?
    Many free beers await the first person to help me out on this. Thanks,
    John F

    Hi John,
    Have a look at the following page
    http://transfer.iwebfaq.org
    The only thing that changes for you is that you're transferring it from one drive to the other instead of from one computer to another.
    Please make a backup of the file before getting your site into iWeb '08 (and after if it was successful). Be sure to update the iWeb application before opening your website with it (get it to version 2.0.2)
    And note that once you updated the site to iWeb 2.0 it can't be edited in iWeb '06 anymore.
    I don't drink beer sorry...

    Cédric

  • Embedding connect asset (captivate project) in web page

    How do I reference a Connect address (asset) such as from the Connect server that don't end in an html file using the embed command in html so that the content shows on my web page?
    a.    I tried the flash object and movie in dreamweaver CS3 but I couldn’t get it to work.
    b.    If I upload the swf files to the same server as the web page I can use the embed command to push the swf files on a web page. I bypass the html page that makes the plugin announce a security warning.
    c.    If I do that the FLVs don’t play using Captivate 3 on an http server.
    d.    My Captivate projects works when I play the URL from the Connect Server and the FLVs play but I can’t embed them in a web page. Can I see some sample code.

    Hi Shekhar,
    Thank you for your response, this was helpful, however the problem remains as to how the video is seen in the frame. Unless I specify a height for the iframe, (which I don't want to do as it need to be responsive) the height of the captivate project has huge borders, margins which I can't seem to get rid of when it is part of an iframe?
    Please find screen capture of what is happening
    Kind Regards
    Adrian

  • Applying a CSS style to an existing web page

    Hi all.
    I have recently updated the look of one of my web pages in my site. I'm looking to update the look of the other pages in my site as well to the same style/look. I have a CSS style saved as  "main layout" that I would like to use to apply the same look my existing pages. I'm working in Dreamweaver CS4. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? I realize that, because the existing page already has a layout applied to it, that the look may not be exactly the same, and that's fine, I can work with it from there if I can get it to that point. I feel like there should be an obvious answer to this, but i can't find one.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    This is one of my old pages.

  • Linking Flash Banners to a Web Page

    I've had a bunch of Flash banners created.
    In DW CS3 (on Mac OS X 10.5.8), they display just fine, but I can't link them to a web page, like I can with any other graphic.
    Some old info I saw (three years old) says I have to create an invisible button in Flash (which of course I don't have) and place it on top of the banner. Can that be true?
    It seems to me incomprehensible that there isn't a reasonably simple method to link ANYTHING in DW to a web site.
    Can anyone guide me? Thanks.

    I haven't seen any Flash affiliate banners.  But I'm not hugely active with affiliate advertising.
    Basically,  you want to give your  affiliates a  snippet of JavaScript or HTML code they can copy & paste into their web pages.  The  code retrieves an image (most often a Jpg or animated Gif) from your server.  When someone clicks the link, your site collects and tracks the   affiliate ID using cookies and most likely stores this info for later use.
    If you're new to "affiliate marketing,"  there are tools & services to help you.
    Commission Junction has been around for quite a while.

    A Google search will reveal others.

  • Flash menu hides in web page

    Hi
    I am new to flash & have made a 3 level menu but 3rd
    level hide behind the table in web page
    any suggestion
    Thanks :)

    Well that is exactly what one would expect. Flash can simply
    not break out of it's box. So either make your flash area big
    enough to accomodate all content, or rearrange your menu to fit in.
    sorry for the bad news.
