Embedding output of a report in an Sub screen(Control)

Hii All,
I have a requirement where we need to display one transaction output on a custom subscreen.That's means i need to display the output of one report on subscreen of another transaction.

To use a subscreen we must call it in the flow logic (both PBO and PAI) of the main screen. The CALL SUBSCREEN statement tells the system to execute the PBO and PAI events for the subscreen as part of the PBO or PAI events of the main screen. The flow logic of your main program should look as follows:
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
CALL SUBSCREEN <area> INCLUDING u2018<program>u2019 u2019<screen>u2019.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
CALL SUBSCREEN <area>.

I use ActiveX from Crystal Report Developer XI for viewer in Visual FoxPro 9 and I already know how to show Main Report by using command:

Your right, there is only one tab to view the report.
To open the subreports you will need to click on them in the main report. I don't know of a way to open them programmatically like you are doing here

Excel Output For Standard Report In R12

Hi Experts,
My Client wants Excel Output for Standard Reports ( ex:-Open Purchase Order Report (by cost center)_xml)
I changed the default output to Excel in Template of xml publisher administrator Responsibility.
Now it is showing the Excel output, but The layout of report is not same as layout which in text output of standard report.
Please guide me is there any solution to develop the reports layout in ms-excel using xml file rather than rtf template.

Thanks for your replay.
Generating the new rtf template which is same as standard layout is difficult task for us. Actually we have 120 reports which have same requirement.
Is there any other solution for this . please guide me

Displaying output in ALV Report..

I have a Tipical Problem in Producaiton. when iam executing the report in Development Server it is working fine.
but when I executing the same report in Producation server , first time it is given blank output(only layout) and once come back and execute for the same inputs , it is giving correct output.
if we freshly start executing .. first time it is not giving any output. but once come back to selection-screen and executing it. giving output correctly..
what may be the reason?...Please do the needfulll

Hi,
It might be some problem pertaining to some time delay or lag, or a refresh problem.
So save your code once again activate it and shut down your saplogon and after couple of minutes log in again.
I faced a similar problem, it was some lag problem only.

You can use FM MATERIAL_MAINTAIN_DIALOGUE to go to subcreen MRP1 in MM02.

Cancel_flag in PO Output for Communication report

I'm trying to build logic into an RTF template for the "PO Output for Communication" report to handle cancelled lines. The cancel_flag can be set to "Y" at any of 3 levels - PO Header, PO Line and PO shipment. The field is called the same thing (cancel_flag) at all 3 levels but it doesn't always exist at all 3 levels. What do I call the field in my "IF" statement, so that it is looking at the correct field? Right now, if I am at the line level and I want to check the cancel_flag, if it doesn't exist, it looks at the cancel_flag at the shipment level.

example from current level to go up4 level up ../../../../CUSTOM_FLAG
../../../CUSTOM_FLAG three lvl up.
Need to know the cancel_flag element you said, i can see only one :) in the given xml.

How can I have Main report with a sub-report with in a sub-report??

I have a main report that has about 5 subreports, almost like a dashboard. I need to make one of those subreports contain another subreport.
I don't have the option to add a sub-report with in my sub-report, so what I thought would work is remove my sub-report from my main report, then add my new sub-report, then add that report back to my main report.
Everytime I add the sub-report that has a sub-report to my main report I lose the second sub.
From what I've read on the internet is you can't have a sub-report contain another sub-report. What some say is you can hyperlink that second sub report.
When I setup my hyper link to open the second sub-report I'm prompted to re-enter my report parameters.
Can some help me link a sub-report to a sub-report or show me how to pass a date range parameter in my hyper link so the reports just opens up?

Nate,
You are dealing with a product limitation. Crystal cannot have nested subreports within a sub report.
You can generally use shared variables between sub reports to achieve your desired result

Crystal Report Hyperlink to Sub-report or other report

I would like to create a report on which the first part will show project summary page. The second part will have all project detail pages and third part with all project financial informations.
The report should work in such a way whenever user clicks on any project at first summary page this has to jump to corresponding detail page of projects.
I have the following question regarding design of this report.
1. Do I need to create a saparate report as a sub report and then merge with main report in a footer section? Or is it ok to create sub-report within main report through sub-report wizard option?
2. How can I establish hyperlink between the pages i.e. summary to detail pages?
3. back hyperlink to first pages.
I am expecting more information about hyperlink options within Crystal report.

You can create a separate report and then insert it as a subreport in the main report or create it with sub report wizard.
Once you click on Insert -> Subreport, you can see there are two options, one is to point to an existing report and another is to create it through wizard.

You can use the hyperlink between report objects. Also you can apply a customized formula for this.

All these parameters (i.e .MATNR, CHARG, BWART) can be passed with the submit command.
For example (where the p_... Parameters are parametes of YOUR report !).

       exporting list to memory.
The import if the list is a bit more dificult.
It's basically like this:

EBS: Email XML publisher output, from After Report Trigger in Data Template

Here is what I'm trying to do:
-- In EBS (11.5.10 CU2), I'm using XML publisher (5.6.2) data template and layout template to generate Output files (PDF, EXCEL etc)
--In the Data Template's AfterReport Trigger, I'm using the Concurrent Request Id to locate the Output file name and trying to Email that output file.
Problem:
-- When the AfterReport trigger code is executed, the code is NOT seeing the output file and hence the file is NOT emailed.
Observations/Questions:
-- From what I observe, the Output Post Processor ( that generates the Excel / PDF files) is running AFTER the code in AfterReport trigger... and hence the AfterReport trigger is Not quite seeing / able to access the output file.
So, the sequence of execution seems to be:
-- Before Report Trigger
-- Data Query (SQL statement)
-- After Report Trigger
-- Output Post Processor
Because the AfterReport Trigger is running before the Output Post Processor, it is Not able to see the output file. Is that a True statement?

I believe so, as the OPP works on the output of the Report after the Report has completed execution.
You could use the same approach as we do for bursting the report to different users. Write a Java Concurrent program based on "oracle.apps.xdo.oa.cp. XMLPReportBurst" with delivery channel Email to send the email output. You would need to add code to launch the Concurrent child request in your AfterReport Trigger:

Crystal 6.0 : How to hide the Page footer and Page Header of the Main Report on the Sub report.

I have a Main report and a Sub report . When a subreport spans across multiple pages , the page header and page footer of the main report gets displayed along with it . I want to hide the Page Footer and Page Header of the main report when a sub report is displayed . Is there any way it could be acheived in Crystal Report 6.0.

I am assuming you are talking about the JSControl dropdown menu navigation. The easiest way to hide Community pages is to disable the Below Banner View for that navigation scheme, although it also disables the Subcommunties, Related Communities and Go up to Parent Community links. If you still want these in below the banner menu you could not display Community Pages in the "In this Community" tab and only leave the "Community Members and Knowledge Directly" link in there.
You would think that it would be better to remove the "In this Community" tab althogether but it is tricky to remove it due to the fact that there needs to be a default horizontal menu displayed all the time. Not all Communities will have a Subcommunities or Related Communities tab so these communities would not display any below banner menus at all if there is no "In this Community" tab, which could be confusing.

You can do a couple of things - one would be to pass the information using the data linking expert. Right click on the subreport, choose 'Change Subreport Links' and select the field(s) you are wanting to pass to the subreport. CRW will build parameters and a record selection formula for you in the subreport, and if that's what you want, then great. But you can also remove the selection formula from the subreport and work with the parameter fields in the subreport however you would like.Alternatively, you can look to passing Shared variables back and forth from the main and subreport. this link talks about the method to do this: http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/251

Case 1:
 If you can change the query, Filter on Country and exclude Germany
Case 2:
 If you can not change the query, use url appending and filter out Germany
Check webapi reference for the exact commands
Case 3:
 Only if you are using the NW2004s front-end, Report designer will be available for you. In this, you can delete the rows that you do not want and publish in web.
Case 1 and 2 solutions are available in older versions of front-end as well.

Can we use the output of a report as in input for the other report?

I would like to know if we have any option in OBIEE where in we can save the output of a report and use it as a filter for another report?
My scenario is like:
1) I have a report on ORDERS which gave me 250 orders.
2) I want to have a report on SHIPMENT table for these 250 Orders.
Can we save the result of report 1 as a filter and use it in 2nd report?
