Embedding Xcelsius in WEBI report

Hi,
Can anyone let me know how to embed Xcelsius Flash in WEBI report? I know that we need to use iframe syntax but can anyone give me exact steps and syntax of the same?
Thanks,
Shweta

In WebI, follow below steps:
1. Click the cell in which you want the gauge to appear.
2. Type in the following text (adjust to your needs) into the formula toolbar:
=u201D<iframe height=u2019150pxu2019 width=u2019150pxu2019 frameborder=u20190u2032 src=u2019../../opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=27792&lsSlowerThreshold=0.00&lsSmiddleThreshold=0.95&lsSupperThreshold=1.00&lsSupperBoundary=1.20&lsScurrentValue=u201D[webi_Value]u201Du2018></iframe>u201D
4. The [webi_Value] refers to the variable that holds the value you want to pass to the gauge as the currentValue. Replace this with your own variable.
5. Replace 27792 with your own ID of the swf object [ID is 27792 (by pointing my mouse at the arrow to the left of the swf object in my infoview folder)]
6. Adjust the thresholds and boundary values to suit your needs.
Thank You!!

    Hi Colleagues,
I want to create my adhco report using WEBI and want to publish it to SAP NW Enterprise portal .
While creating the i view in the EP i dint find any option in i view template in order to create an i view for WEBI report .
However there is an option to choose crystal report as a template while creating an i view but nothing for WEBI and Xcelsius as such. So how can we embedd our Xcelsius and WEBI report in SAP Enterprise portal .
Is there any option to intergate the SAP NW Enterprise portal and BO Portal .
    Kindly sugest.

You should be using opendocument links if using EP. with opendocument the URL contains all the pertinent info.
refer to chapter 8 of the SAP Integration kit guide for more info.
Post in the webi, general, or check out the outher documents link in the forum sticky post for the latest opendocument doc.

  • Execute WebI Report within Xcelsius - Bypass Authetication of Infoview

    Hi,
Env: BO Enterpise XI3.1 SP3, Xcelsius 2008 and LiveOffice.
I have 2 web intelligence reports say Report1 and Report2.
In Xcelsius, Report1 is embedded using Live Office. The data is displayed in form of a list. When the user selects a record from the list, appropriate parameters are passed on to the 2nd report i.e. Report2 by clicking the URL button. The URL uses the openDocument to execute the Report2.
The problem is when I am trying to click the URL, On clicking the URL, It is displaying the Infoview Login screen and is requesting to enter the login credentials. The URL is as follows:-
    http://<servername>:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=AVGE4RlLphlNo0LFC0DkYno&sDocName=OperatorDetails&sIDType=CUID&sType=wid&sRefresh=Y&lsSEnterBilling+Operator=ABC
I am not sure how to suppress the Infoview login screen. I assume it is looking for a token but am not sure how to generate the token within Xcelsius. One of the blogs did mention a process to bypass the authetication of executing the dashboard by creating a token in jsp and then calling the dashboed swf file. Is there something silimar we can do by creating token within Xcelsius to avoid authetication to Infoview thus running webi report using openDocument from within Xcelsius.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
As the second report is to be viewed with the help of OpenDOc URL, so if logon tickets are not passed then the pop-up will be displayed to share the same.
You can refer the below Opendoc guide from the latest BOE version released and go through the Logon Ticket section for more information.

  • URL link in Xcelsius (to trigger WEBI report)

I have a url button in the Xcelsius that load a WEBI report on the same server with the following url path.
    http://cg01:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?..............
We have 3-tier systems, so when I migrate the xcelsius from one server to another server, I need to manually change the server name 'cg01' respectively.
Is there a way I do not need to change the server name every time I do the migration or how to make the 'server name' dynamically change?
    Thank you.

    Hi Alex
Yes there is, just remove the http://<servername> part to give
    /OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?..............
Remember though that this will only work from within InfoView.

  • Open the WebI report from Xcelsius dashboard

    Hi All,
I would like to know how to open the WebI report from the xcelsius dashboard.
Looking at the previous posts I followed the following steps to implement the same but that is not working.
Inserted the component URL button and used the folowing link:
    http://servername/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sIDType=XXX
But this is givingerre: " Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
Also, tried the copying the reprot link, but that is opening the Infoview login page.
I want the report to opened when we click the URL button.
Could someone please provide me a solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Sindhu

did you try passing the iDocID parameter? When prompted did you try to login to InfoView and check whether Report gets displayed?
Ideally the URL should be as below:
If you want to bypass the logon screen, you need to modify the OpenDocument.jsp to pass logon token to the above URL i.e.token=+token where the +token is being retrieved by sdk.

  • Exporting Crystal Reports with embedded Xcelsius content to PDF

    Hi,
I have a crystal report with an embedded xcelsius chart. I would like to schedule this report using Crystal Server 2008, sending it monthly as a PDF file attached to an email. But after exporting the report through Crystal Server, the xceslsius content is just blank. Shouldn't this be working?

What is the version of Adobe Reader? Adobe Reader 9 should be there. Also check whether you have Flash Palyer/ flash Active X control installed.
If you can view the dashboard after exporting it to PPT,it means you have Flash Player installed. You need to try with Adobe Reader 9.

  • How to pass parameter from xcelsius report to WebI report

    Hi,
I have a pie chart in xcelsius. When user clicks on one of the slices of the chart I want to pass the selected slice value to a WebI report.
For this I am doing following steps
    1. When user clicks on a chart slice the selected slice value will be written into a cell say B1
    2. Create a URL button which will get triggered on change of the value of cell B1.
    3. Set the URL value in the cell say C2. Here I am using Opendoc function to open Webi report.
If I enter following value in C2 and run the report it works fine and opens the desired webi report.
    ="http://myServer.xyz.com:9001/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sDocName=MyDoc&sReportName=MyReport&sWindow=Same&sRefresh=Y&lsSCompany=MyCompany&lsSDecision="  &$B$1
here I am Passing two parameters Company and Decision.
Now I want to make this report run in all the environment so I changed the actual path of server( myServer.xyz.com:9001) to following
    ="../../opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sDocName=MyDoc&sReportName=MyReport&sWindow=Same&sRefresh=Y&lsSCompany=MyCompany&lsSDecision="  &$B$1
but if I do this it gives me following error in Webi:
    "Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address."
Is there any other way to open the WebI report from xcelsius?

    Hi Peter,
the link provided refers to Xcelsius V4.5.
In Xcelsius 2008 you have to control Flash Vars in the Data Manager.
Go to the Data Manager, Add the Flash-Var Connection Type, Select CSV-FlashVar and define a name and a range.
But i am not sure if Xcelsius Engage can handle FlashVars, because i am only working with Enterprise.
Please take a look at your manual.
For sure there are other ways to import data during runtime. Take a Look at the Connections provided by Data Manager. (e.g. QaaWS, SSRS, LiveOffice, Webservices, ...)
Also take a look at the link below. It might be another nice option for "pseudo" data connectivity

  • Crystal Report published in BO-Enterprise with embedded Xcelsius present.

    hi,
I'm new to BO and I'm working on a demo for our clients.
I have connected my crystal reports to receive data from SAP R/3, which works very well.
I have also embedded a Crystal Xcelsius SWF file into my Crystal Reports report which receives data from it.
THE PROBLEM: when i want to publish the report to BO Enterprise it only works WITHOUT the SWF file embedded into the *.rpt report.
when i want to view the report in InfoView I'm getting the prompt to log on to the SAP system. after entering i get the error message:
    An Error has occured: Exception in JSP: /sapviewDHTMLReport.jsp:223 220: viewer.refresh(); 221: } 222: viewer 223: .processHttpRequest(request, response, context, 224: jspWriter); 225: response.flushBuffer(); 226: viewer.dispose(); Stacktrace:
entering the logon credentials in the database-properties of the file doesn't solve the problem.
when I delete the SWF file from the report and publish it in BO Enterprise everything works fine. I'm able to log on to SAP and InfoView shows me the report.
    has anyone a suggestion? thanks!

    Hello Kevin,
try to change your Settings in the InfoView-Setting-Menu.
There is a subitem "Crystal Reports" where you can set a standard view format.
I am always using ActiveX, but I still have the problem that the embedded XCelsius-Part is not displayed. But at least the rest of the report is displayed correctly.

    Sebastian

  • Need to have same report format in Xcelsius as there in WEBI report

    Hi All,
I have 5 tables in my WEBI report placed horizontally. But when i try to bring these tables from webi to Xcelsius using Live office,  those tables are appearing Vertically in excel. In there any work around for this. I need to display those tables horizontally in the excel as there in WEBI report.
    Thanks,
    Shweta.

    Hi Remi,
If export the CR report to excel, you can import this excel sheet in Dashboards using the symbol near Manage Connections option.
But this will be a static spreadsheet. If you want to use the live data then you will have to go with Live Office data connection.

  • How to connect Already created WebI reports with Xcelsius Dashboards

    HI Experts,
My requirement it to bring data from already in use WebI reports to a consolidated Dashboard. I am aware of connecting universe with Dashboard with the help of QaaWS.
Is there is any other way that we can connect our dashboard?
We are thinking to publish those dashboards on the SAP Enterprise BI Portal.
    Thanks in advance!!!
    Edited by: BIBO_Apprentice on Aug 13, 2011 7:40 AM

    Hi,
One can connect WebI reports with Xcelsius dashboards in 3 ways:
    1. Using QaaWS : connects universe with Dashboard. Dashboard uses the WSDL link to get data that works on SOAP (that works on exchanging web structures).
    2. Using Live Office Connection: With the help of Live Office one can connect the WebI reports directly. One can take advantage of the scheduled instances of the WebI reports. So it is good for time consuming reports.
    3. Using BI Web Services: Here custom web services are created of intended report instances. Publication is done from CMS side.
after that WSDL is used as any other web services.
Get back if you need any further clarification.
