Embeded email images

Let me apologize if this has been asked and answered a hundred times but I searched and couldn't find it.
Does the email client on the iPhone support alternateviews? When I receive an email with an embedded image using an alternateview all I see is a question mark and no image. The image doesn't show up as an attachment in this case either.
Thanks for any answers

Thanks for the reply. Maybe my question should be does the iPhone email client support HTML messages with contentIds in them. Here's a sample of my VB .net code used to create and send the email message, this works for everything I've tested so far except for the iPhone:
<!--
Dim objLinkedRes As New LinkedResource(strInputPath & strImage)
objLinkedRes.ContentId = "Image"
Dim strHTMLBuild As String = "<div align='center'> *<img src='cid:Image' />*"
</div>"
Dim altPlainView As AlternateView = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString("Non-supported HTML", Nothing, "text/plain")
Dim objAltView As AlternateView = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString(strHTMLBuild, New System.Net.Mime.ContentType("text/html"))
objAltView.LinkedResources.Add(objLinkedRes)
msgEmail.AlternateViews.Add(objAltView)
msgEmail.To.Add(New MailAddress(strRecipients(intSender)))
-->

  • How do I access the link on embedded emails on my iPhone?

When I receive a mail with an embedded linked image, I can only save the image and not click on it to access the URL.  However if that image is image mapped, it becomes clickable OR if the image is referenced instead of embedded it is also clickable.
Any reason for this or ideas on how to get it to work with embedded images without having to use image maps?
NB:  This is only since the upgrade to IOS

firefighter201... The device that is lost has to have had Find My iPhone service turned on in Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone (Toggle ON) prior to being lost; that being said, iCloud had to have been also activated and signed into on the missing device.
If the above is true, then using another computer you go to iCloud.com > Sign in with the Apple ID/password used for iCloud on the missing device > Chose Find My iPhone web app button > All devices linked to that Apple ID will then be viewable on the map > Chose a specific device from the "Devices" Button (upper-left corner) > Then you can choose options > 1. Play a Sound ; 2. Lost Mode (lock with a passcode of your choice) ; 3. Erase iPhone (this wipes all data, last resort!!!)
Find My iPhone App: Download from the App Store onto any iOS device and repeat the instructions as seen above when you sign in with the same Apple ID.
**Important** For the device to be locatable or for the chosen option to take effect the device has to have a cellular or wifi connection, if it is not locatable using the "Lost Mode" option will alert you via e-mail when it does become locatable.
    I hope this helps!

  • How can I stop firefox from opening hundreds of tabs when I click on an embedded email link?

Every time I forget and click on an embedded email link, firefox tries to open multiple tabs(sometimes hundreds). I can't shut down firefox when this happens, I can't do anything else. I have to manually shut down the computer and reboot.

Check to make sure that mailto has not been set to open Firefox.
To do that open the Preferences dialog by selecting "Firefox > Preferences". In the Preferences dialog go to the Applications panel. In the "Content Type" column locate mailto, and make sure the Action column is not set to "Use Firefox" This procedure is explained in more depth in the [[Managing file types]] article.
Also see [[Firefox keeps opening many tabs or windows]] .

  • How to find out embedded raster image is Black&White or Color image?

Is there any possibility to find out the embedded raster image is Black&White, Gray image (or) Color image in "illustrator cs3" without using color mode shown in "document info" pannel. Kindly advice me, the possibilities and solution. And also any scripts avilable for this?
    Thanks.

Or you could select the embedded image, and open the Window>Document Info panel. Select Embedded Images from the fly out menu on the Document Info panel. This should give you the color mode and more info on the embedded file in question.

Some email images do not show while using the icloud web app.  I can see the images on my IOS devices and in gmail but I only see a small gray box in the icloud web mail app.  Load HTML images is checked in preferences.  Is there a solution to this issue?

I've seen the opposite issue.  My wife recieved an email with jpg attachments.  She couldn't see or print them on her iPhone 4S but they showed up fine in iCloud or in the mail app.  I had her forward the email to herself and then they showed up.  I assume there is an issue with how Apple is processing the attachments and resending causes them to get reformatted in a way that makes them easier to handle.
So yeah.  Seems like some bugs.  Hope Apple fixes them soon.

  • Emailing Images Viewable in Email Body in Outlook

To give an email extra punch, I created a page in Pages, saved it as a pdf, opened it in Preview, saved that image as a JPEG, then added it as an attachment to an email and saved the mailing as stationery.
I want the image to appear in the body of the email, and not just as an attachment. Many of the recipients will be using Outlook.
I've sent test messages, and often the recipient can only see the emailed image as an attachment, not in the body of the received email.
    Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Since it works on your dev system then it is likely not a code issue. I suspect there is a runtime file difference between your dev and staging system. Use [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] to see if you can spot the difference. You'll need to run this on both systems while your app is running.
On your dev system, go through the procedure of exporting and emailing your report. Then run modules while the app is still running.
On your staging system, go through the same procedure until you get the error. Leave the error on the screen and run modules.
Finally, compare the two mdl log files using modules differences feature.

  • Html email - image won't load

You guys are wonderful - when I've worked and worked on a problem and get to the "pulling out my hair" stage, I remember how helpful the forum has been to me . . .
I have put Outlook 2007 on my computer now so I can easily test the quirks of email rendering in that email client.
I'm attempting to test using slices for the nav bar (hopefully a work around for "wonderful" Outlook 2007) but can't get past an image that won't load. I recently combined three images and some text into one image because Outlook was floating the images and spacing them wrong.  The image that I'm referring to which now won't load is http://www.theshimogaproject.com/email/images/shimoga_pics_text.jpg
The original design displays correctly in browsers:  http://www.theshimogaproject.com/email/riverrun-guests-email.html

  • Email Link... and Email Image menu items don't work.

Suddenly, about a week ago, the Email Link... and Email Image menu items stopped working. Problem seems to be on only one login on one of my three machines. The rest seem to be OK.
Using FF 19.0 and TB 17.0.3 under Windows 7.
    Any ideas?

Thank you. Although I had already checked the MailTo: application and found it set to "Use Thunderbird (default)", clearing that association and setting it to "Always Ask" jarred things loose. When I set it back to T-Bird, it worked again.
    Again, thanks for the nudge.

  • Embedding GIF image

    Hello!
Is there any convenient way to embed GIF image into flash
file? Embedding JPG image was easy using HTML <img> tag, but
that does not seem to work with GIF.
The reason I need this, so the argument ?image could be
passed to flash file and the image inside flash would switch
according to the passed argument (without editing .FLA file
    itself).
    Thank you in advance!

ok - the real problem here is that you are using the 'actual'
file as it loads to act as the preloader - in this case the
majority of the file will load previous to the preloader initiating
anything because it will not function until the file is
instantiated. a much better way of handling this is to use the
MovieClipLoader class and create a 'loading' swf file that IS the
preloader, which in turn 'loads' the actual swf. you then use the
onLoadProgress handler of the MCL class to control the events of
the load and then you can initiate the opening methods in the load
    file using the onLoadInit handler.
so you would make a file that is the same size as the main
file, then place your preloader assets and code constructs for the
options you're using within that file - call mcl.loadClip() and
load the 'main' swf in that way. the preloader should then only be
a few k at the most and load almost instantly, and show the
progress properly. this is the best way to go when dealing with
    large files.

  • "Gear" Icon with message "Stop email image" what is this?

I have am running a mac 10.6.3 - 2.4ghz. Recently in the top menu bar an icon which looks like a spinning gear has popped up. When I click on it the message says "stop 'email image'". I have clicked on the icon and selected stop, but nothing happens. What is this icon and what exactly is it doing? Thanks.

Purple icons represent a Smart Playlist and blue icons a normal one.
It has nothing to do with contents being available at the iTMS.
Are you sure the blue icon has a flower in it and not a musical note?
Burning a playlist on an CD-RW and playing it will work fine on your computer, but many Audio players and especially car CD-players don't like CD-RWs at all.
You can give it a try, but chances are it doesn't work.
To erase the CD-RW, you indeed have to use Disk Utility.
When you check the 'Quick Erase' checkbox, the entire disc will be zero-ed first. A 'full' erase can take a long time (about 20 minutes!! on my system).
Using a CD-R to burn your playlist however, will have a much higher chance of successful playback in your car CD-player.
The message about the gift etc. appears when you click on the small arrow next to the playlist's name. I can't remember having it show up on burning, but I might have ticked a 'don't show again' checkbox at first appearance.
    Hope this helps.

one thing when i see report in report manager it is displaying format nicely see..
when i am exporting from Rpt manger its displaying perfect but when i use mhtml  rendering it s look like somewhat ..
i have checked and its not any browser issue i guess ...
i think can be rsconfig missing somewhere ...
i have used mhtml as a embedded render format and extension mhtml (visible =false) already removed
    please help me on this...
    Dilip Patil..

    Hello,
I can reproduce the issue when I send to the report with MHTML to a Gmail address. But it works well when send to Microsoft Outlook email address. It seems the issue related to the Email services rather then SSRS MHTML Rendering Extension.
Please try to change other email address and try again.

  • Emailing images.

Here's another way to email images at the size you want.
    1. Create a new email in Mail and add address or addresses as needed
    2. Position the new email on the screen so you can still see it while iPhoto9 is open
    3. If you only want to email 1 image, click and drag it to the email, which should be visible
    4. In the bottom righthand corner of the email you will see "image size". Click on the drop down menu and select the size you want.
    5. Send.
If you want to send multiple images in the one email just select more images in iPhoto and click and drag and drop as above.
Emailing from within iPhoto leaves no record of images emailed in the sent window in Mail. That is a major shortcoming as far as I am concerned.

If you don't like the new ways that iPhoto handles emailing then you can access the old way with a small change in how you work:
    1. Drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Mail icon in the Dock.
    or
    2. Use the Photo browser in Mail - or any Media browser in the entire OS
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can then resize the image in the iPhoto Window
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
Finally, you can make a simple OS Service to to automate the procedure. For more on this have a read of this:

  • Save as SVG degrading the embedded raster images

I would like to know if the following issue is a bug:
I have a file that contains a background raster image (embedded JPEG) and few vector graphics objects drawn on top of it.
After I save this file as pure SVG (no AI information, so I don't check the Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities check box ), I notice a slight degradation of the raster image (for instance, the image border pixels look like being interpolated with the white background). If I save this SVG as an AI file (and no compression), and repeat the Save as SVG, the image degrades even more. So, with each iteration AI -> pure SVG -> AI, the background embedded raster image (JPEG) looks worse and worse.
    I use AI CS3 13.0.2.
    Thanks,
    Matei

    Matei, temp,
There is a wellknown issue of degrading JPEGs every time they are reinterpreted.
Therefore, JPEGs should always be kept and used unaltered, if possible.
And then there is the alignment issue:
    >(for instance, the image border pixels look like being interpolated with the white background).
Have you made sure that the JPEGs are aligned with the pixels of the Artboard before saving?

  • Email image cache

    Hi guys,
I am having trouble with mail failing to refresh images that are sent via html emails. Essentially, I have a web based script that sends an email containing one image (and nothing else) to a mailing list. When I first sent the email to myself it worked fine, but on updating the image and sending again, Mail displays the old 'original' image and not the new one.
Is there a cache setting or something for this?
    Thanks,
    Isaac

    Hi Isaac.
Apparently, Mail becomes confused if the name of the attachment is the same in different messages, but given the information you’ve provided it isn’t clear at all whether that’s the problem in your case:
Mail displaying attachment from previous email
    Image attachments on multiple messages
Mail does keep a cache in ~/Library/Caches/Mail — not to be confused with the ~/Library/Mail folder where all your mail is locally stored. You may try quitting Mail and trashing the Mail cache (or just moving it out of there, e.g. to the Desktop), but I’m not positive that will make a difference.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.
